My daughter and i tried this place about a year ago (dine-in) and ordered the "special" pho dac biet, well I'm usually not one to waste food, i grew up in a culture that if you didn't finished your food you weren't allowed to leave the table you guys know what I'm talking about (couldn't even eat half) but the soup from this location was the worst ever! We couldn't even chew the beef that came with it as it was like chewing rubber, the bean sprouts that came were not fresh overall not a good experience so we never went back but tonight we tried to give the place a second chance thinking maybe it was just a one off and maybe it'll be better this time.boy were we ever wrong. The soup was still as bad as i remembered just shameful, you should be embarrassed to serve this and call it " PHO " needless to say we will not be giving this place a third chance, we'll just stick to the place on Upper James ;) y'all know the place I'm talking about.if you know you know Binh seeing ya Minh:)
It was okay. We moved from Toronto five years ago and I've been craving spicy seafood noodle soup like I used to get at Golden Turtle (Pho Rùa Vàng).
The good: I live deep in the rural areas south of Hamilton. I asked them to package the food for a long drive and they did wonderfully. Everything was still hot and did not need re-heating when I got home. I really enjoyed that they provided environmentally friendly cutlery. I was also tickled that they put the noodles and seafood in a bowl I could use and didn't have to use what my family call's mommy's Pho bowl.
The okay: The soup was okay. The broth was bland. Although I had asked them to make it spicy they did not make it spicy. They did give me a small container of dried chili flakes in oil on the side. I should have dumped the whole thing in immediately, but I kept adding a bit, taste testing, a bit more.
The not so good: The seafood was pretty minimal compared to other places I've tried both in Hamilton and previously in Toronto. I did not get my little bag of bean sprouts and basil and lime. There were some beansprouts included with the seafood but not as many as usual. I really missed the basil. I also missed the little container of hosin sauce that usually accompanies.
We seniors came to eat Wednesday 29th at 5: 40pm. The food was good but the noise from another table (three girls sitting and laughing so loud) was not pleasant to enjoy the food. Mentioned this to the evening server on duty. We would have like to sit and finish our tea and rest after eating at our age but we had to pay and get out cos of the wrong ambiance. Would appreciate if manager in charge would take note and put a stop to this. I do not think we will come back to dine in no longer. Thank you
I eat Pho quite regularly, for it it was something of a a bit of a comfort that was left over from university. I have tried a few dishes at the Toronto Pho for me what makes Pho good that its good value for the price. Eating here a few times I get a sense of when its good and when there is a bit of opportunities. For example, I remember eating here with my friend and having the noodles stuck to the bottom of the bowl. I know this was not big deal but it is not a good ascetic when you are actual noodles are stuck to the bottom of the bowl. For this reason I actually prefer to get the Pho for take out, as everything is separated into portions, and you get to manage the over quality of the presentation yourself. I highly recommend this place for take out, but having it at the restaurant is not much of an experience. It's nice for a stop in but the restaurant for sitting in is not to special. Very good fresh rolls. The price for Pho for me is a bit over priced
What a joke! Tried this restaurant for the first time and let server know it was my first time and still. Never saw a skimpier side of basil three little pieces and a piece of lime so small it was useless. Beef was fatty yet dried out.
If this is how you treat a new customer I'd hate to see what I would get if I was ordering regularly.
If you look at my history of reviews, I barely leave 1 star reviews. This place deserves a 1 star review and I say this respectfully. Let me tell you why. I went for the first time last night (Friday, April 7th, 2023). Im very big on hygiene and As soon as I walked in I noticed every single table was not cleaned from previous customers. I was directed to my table and noticed the cushion to sit on was greasy and dirty, I had to ask the employee to clean it before I sat down. Not a good way to start. I’m sitting there for about 15 minutes waiting for a menu only to realize that the menu was through a QR code. It would have been nice to be greeted by my waiter properly when I sat down and to give me the break down of how things work there such as menu is accessible through QR code. Fast forward, I order beef broth chicken soup and also beef fresh rolls. I say this whole heartedly that the food was not great. The beef broth was pretty bland and the chicken had to many unwanted pieces that were way to chewy. The beef in the fresh roll was way to tough to bite through. The portion of the soup was pretty small for 15$ with like 7 small pieces of chicken. It was pretty pathetic if I’m being honest. This was an awful experience and I hope when I return for my second time that it will be better. I always give places a second chance that I have awful experiences at. As of right now I DO NOT recommend to my friends and family.
Placed an order online and went to pick up. Walked in…. Two girls looked at me and I told the one girl I ordered online she acknowledged me but then completely ignored me and did not come back with an answer? I was so confused of the cold shoulder I got. I waited a few minutes then caught her attention again. I said is my order ready… she looks at the bags and said oh ya it’s here. So she basically waisted my time, and I have a crying baby at home…… aside from the poor customer service the food was good. I’m also glad I opted out of the tip o line as I was going to give in person but nope!
We ate here multiple times and thought it was a decent meal not bad but not that good either. We ate here this evening. My husband ordered a pad thai which tasted awful it's different from other similar restaurants in hamilton. The spices used was sweet and taste of a food color. The beef with rice was sad. It was just a fried beef and the usual dip. Beef was tasteless. No egg and nothing special. We didn't finish our meal.
I ordered from Toronto Pho for the first and was blown away by the quality and flavour. I ordered a chicken vermicelli bowl and I’ve had alot of Vietnamese and this rivals any traditional Vietnamese establishment, perhaps may be better. The chicken was juicy, perfectly grilled and impeccably seasoned - you could taste the lemongrass. Can’t wait to try other dishes.
I was super excited to try the vegan Pho soup. The faux meat was pretty good and there were lots of good veggies. It looked great! The problem was that the broth was so bland. My spouse has the Pad Thai and wasn't loving it, either. Also, the service was slow.
We order from this place almost weekly. The food is consistently good and service is great. Nothing better to relieve a cold or sore throat than a hot beef rice noodle soup. Thanks
A bit more expensive than other pho places but they make some good dishes. They charge you for hot sauce which I’m very disappointed by it. I’d say their take out packing is wonderful and it’s the best take out prep ever. The service is ok and they will only accept cash or debit but if your purchase is big enough then they will accept credit card payment as well. I would give them 5 star as I always enjoy their foods
Good food but cook was not wearing a mask and server allowed people to enter with no mask, order with no mask and sit and wait for their takeout food without wearing a mask! Give your head a shake!
The best customer service I’ve ever experienced. They unfortunately forgot part of my order but made up for it tenfold. Truly the best treatment I’ve ever gotten from a restaurant. I understand that things happen and it can be stressful. Thank you so much. From the girl who got pad Thai with extra shrimp:)
