Toronto Public Library - Cedarbrae Branch

This library for environment perspective it deserved 5 star, however, front desk staff attitude is very very bad, even don’t know how to communicate with customer, whenever you ask some paper something for toddler, service is very bad, hope manager notice this issue seriously.

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. KIDS FROM NEARBY SCHOOL HAVE MAKE IT A PICNIC SPOT TO CHILL, EAT, MAKE NOISE. EVEN THE LIBRARIAN AND SECURITY GUARDS ARE AFRAID TO STOP THEM FROM DISTURBING

This library is a great place for everyone, it's a huge library for the surrounding area, and has tons of books. The staff are great overall, and I had no issues really. This library has a lot of computers compared to other neighbouring branches, which is nice, but at times it does get busy where most computers are taken. One thing I wished this library had was space for more silent rooms, since I notice, some of the same people daily hog the silent rooms right at 0900, like seriously I have seen people running to get the silent rooms. LOL. However, a great place for kids and families, and the library staff are helpful and knowledgeable too. They don't have color printers by the way, only the the Toronto Reference Library near Downtown Toronto has it. Also, the library has a lot of programs for kids (reading, singing, games), teens (school-related, games in the Teens Room), adults. I think they also have held Finanicial sessions, Real Estate (House, Mortgage), Microsoft Office, Languages sessions in the past. It's a great place for newcomers as well. Do attend this place if you are nearby:)

Just want to share my experince in Cedarbrae public library. I visited the Cedarbrae library with my son for rock painting event on 2nd June 2023. After his rock painting done he asked the staff. If he can take his Painting and rock painted by him to him. At this the Library staff replied yes you can take this (mess) to your home. I was speechless what words she used with kids. I was so heartbroken and my kid is so innocent he come to me and said moms this is mess. I really appreciate if the staff please mind full with your words. They are so young and they patiently watch what adults are doing. Was not at all excepting this in the library.please it is my humble request to be kind and mindful with words as the kids are so innocent and they take every word really seriously. Thank you.

Spacious library, lots of parking, variety of books. A lot of quiet spots for reading. Clean restrooms. Clean floors and well organized.

It's good if you want to escape the distractions of home, but it is too loud. The staff doesn't do anything to shut the kids up. The high school kids come here to hang out (which is good) but they keep talking loudly and are very inconsiderate. Not a good place if you are looking for silence.

The people in this library are unbelievably loud. No effort is made to keep the noise level down. It's more like an overcrowded recreation center. This is not a good place to get any studying done.

Amazing library.computer lab, plus large kids section.used to go here every weekend and used to bring 25+ books each time I left from this place.loved being here years ago.

Library is very good for studies, free parking, lots of study table space and so many computers as well. Overall really good.

Great library! It’s a good size. Lots of material, kind staff, nice patrons, large kids section, and lots of programs available! Its designed very nicely and laid out well too. They also have lots of study areas and private rooms to book. It’s always relaxing to stop by.

Nicely renovated library with a good kids section. Ample seating the sit and read with your kids.

It's a good place to read or study but if you can find a quite place upstairs and don't forget your headphones to cancel noices.

Sometimes too much noisy. People are not wearing musk all the time. Environment is not clean enough though spacious. Users are use to talk inside.

Great they have opened back to the regular operating hours. We can borrow as before. The systems have become old (4th gen processors). They need to be upgraded hope they find the budget.

I was at the cedarbrae library today and I only needed to use the photcopy machine. I asked if someone could help me and a Librarian was nice and was able to help. I didn’t have enough funds in my card so I went and added funds to the card. When I returned to use the copy machine she was gone and so I tried asking another librarian to help me and her excuse was that because of covid she wasn’t able to help! There where a bunch of librarians standing around doing absolutely nothing and neither of them would help me because of Covid! I understand we under a pandemic but they still have a job to do to help customers. I was wearing my mask and sanitizing my hands. Following all protocols. There was no issues when the other Librarian came back and was helping. However, although she was helping she was also telling me that she can’t help me as well! Then they started telling me that I had to book a computer session in order for me to use the machine which I found ridiculous because already I started using the machine! So that made no sense! Overall very disorganized with the new Covid protocols. Very poor customer service!

Front desk employee (middle-aged white women) who answers phone calls has an attitude problem. No courtesy, condescending tone, and impatient.

It was great to visit the library today. Not much rush and could walk in and collect some books. Feels good to be able to go back to the library!

One of the biggest libraries for our community. Love the architecture of the building. Spacious and calm.

I really like this library it is very big, has many computers, and they have a very wide selection of books to read I would no doubt recommend this to everyone I know

Great library. The lighting is fantastic. Lots of natural light and windows. The staff are super helpful. And I like all the spaces for people to hang out. The kid area is great too.

Great and clean place, the perfect place to work and get things done up until the students come in loud and take time to settle in. Watched this place grow from the library it used to be and is stunning now.

I gave in my volunteer sheet and they said they would call but a week later they never called. Gave in another form and told them I didn't get a call or email and the lady at the counter said she tell them.

Big, organized and clean. The negatives: Not quiet. Very bad smell in the second floor.
Literally I feel myself setting in Macdonalds. But they have plenty of rooms for study. I think If I came on weekends or morning, I would have different experiences

I used to love the old architecture of it before the renovation but still appreciate their effort to modernize and extending the arena to accommodate more public. A quiet and very lovely place to learn, think and grow. Great friendly staff and a fantastic collection of books for the kids with kid zone!

I always come here and I always end up having a stack of books. The library is very good I recommend for kids and adults

The library's look itself has a lot to offer. This library is very good for studying, reading, and even playing some games on the computers. Although the kids section gets loud it is still very quiet upstairs. I'm sorry about not having pictures. Thank you for taking your time to read this review.
