Toronto Public Library - Maria A. Shchuka Branch

This library is great. The staff is always ready to help you. Everytime I go, they make me feel so comfortable and let me know that If I have any questions or if I need help with anything, they are there for me. The place is always clean and organized. The atmosphere is great. The kid's area is in the first level separated from the adults that is on the 2nd floor. Normally, it's not that busy, and when it is, the users, are pretty understanding, and conscious, so they use the computers wisely. The printers work fine and you can also send your files to be print (through the library website, using your library card) prior from home, and go straight to the library, to pick them up. This is my favorite place, and it's very close to my home. Thank you so much, for your service!

Library itself and its resources are excellent, but strangely the staff at 2nd floor are unbelievably loud. Every time they are talking to a patron, you can hear them even if you are in a corner really far from them.

The art and posters are very impressive! They must have some talented staff on the team.

Today I have a nice people attending in the library very nice and helpful special one of the guy teaching computers programs. He give me advice and help went his time was done. So kind and generous. Is one of the best thank you

Extremely loud kids/teens throughout the day. DO NOT COME HERE TO STUDY UNLESS YOU HAVE HEADPHONES. This is not a library but rather a hangout for teens.

My favourite place, it's like a home, very helpful, anything I need when it comes to computer they are always willing to give assistance, kind people, approachable, that's why I love to come here.

The children on the first floor were extreamly loud and were screaming profanities. Overall, not a very nice experience.

Beautiful library, but it's being used as a school cafeteria.

It would be the perfect place for reading/ studying if it wasnt for the children who come afterschool and stay unsupervised during the whole afternoon. Groups of children on the first floor just running and playing, and on the 2nd floor, groups of older children using the reading desks for eating and talking, just spending their time as if it was a public park.

About the quiet room? It is nicer, but still lots of people using the tables for eating their lunch.

A behavior policy would be perfect for this place!

I come here almost every day. A nice quiet place to read, study and write. Although the kid's area is a bit noisy, the upstairs is kind of nice. Maybe not perfect, as there does tend to be quite a few homeless people, but overall a very nice place. I find it generally clean (even the bathroom) and the staff are super friendly. I actually did make an artwork that was hung up on the wall at this library, but it was stolen. For anyone who decides to contribute art, beware the low security. (For things other than books, like my art.)

Good for children's activities, but too noisy if you want to read. Unfortunately, the computers where they let children play computer games are right in the centre, so the noise disturbs everyone else. Staff seem to be ok with that.

Only a few librarians show excellent customer service. A lot of them were rude and unfriendly to the people. One of the lady librarians have the nerve to tell me that's it's your fault for the outcome of the photocopy service I did (coz it's a self service). That's why I don't often go there as much as possible.

TERRIFIC place to read a book and relax. NICE comfortable setting and easy to find what you need.

Sure, the children's section is on the first floor, but the noise filters through the second-floor ledges. And the patrons think the study areas there are places to talk on the phone. If you want a quiet place to study you're SOL.

This is a terrific library with great resources. They provide a variety of interesting workshops and activities. Kids enjoy it here too.

Big library with a decent selection of books, CDs and DVDs. There are also plenty of computers and quiet study space.
