Playing ultimate frisbee with Jam Sports Toronto, is great fun. I’ve made new friends while staying fit. It’s a win win!

JAM Sports is a great opportunity to break a sweat while playing a team sport. I've played flag football and basketball through JAM on independent teams (did not know anyone on the team before joining), and all of my experiences have been positive. On all but one occasion the level of play was mostly even, and the level of competition within leagues has matched up with my expectations based on JAM's descriptions of the leagues. Almost all of the players in the league have great sportsmanship, and the atmosphere is a good balance between competition and fun. JAM also has helpful ambassadors who set up fields, keep time, and sometimes keep score. I highly recommend JAM to anyone looking to play a team sport or who's looking for a new way to get some great cardio.

I’ve had good experiences with JAM’s beach volleyball leagues. However, I would recommend avoiding their indoor volleyball clinics.

I participated in the 4-week intermediate volleyball clinic inJan/Feb 2023. It is more court time with 28 people and 10 balls, rather than a clinic to improve your volleyball skills. Below highlights the some of the main issues with this program:

- No personalized feedback; feedback was only given to large groups and at the end of a drill, with no opportunity to incorporate it.
- Generally absent/quiet coaches; they would set up a drill then from the sidelines usually watch, be on their phones, or chat amongst themselves.
- Poor drill setup, which led to poor rhythm and a lot of start-and-stop drills. Myself and other players often adjusted drills ourselves to improve the amount and quality of ball touches.

After the first session, I emailed JAM with detailed feedback and recommendations to improve. Although they thanked me for the feedback and said they would share with the coaches, none of it was addressed in the remaining three sessions.

I joined a fitness class with this club about 5 years ago. I was excited cause I wanted to meet new people and love a cardio / strength training class. And it was out doors. But my experience was very negative, the instructor always body shamed me for being skinny. She would make comments and felt isolated from everyone cause the others were treating me the same way. As much as I wanted to continue, I decided to drop out of the class. It was hard to spend an hour consistently hearing nasty comments and not enjoying the classes each week. After this experience, I wouldn’t join this club again. I’m not there to be judged by anyone especially an instructor who’s supposed to help you feel good about myself. I would give 0 stars but that’s not an option.

This is my first time with JAM playing rec basketball. Well organized. What a great way to keep active, playing something you like and meeting amazing people. Good communication and they've made it so simple. Highly recommend.

Great place to play some recreational sports with friends! I joined jam over a year ago and have played both Volleyball and Soccer with the organization. The admin staff was very knowledgeable and always had quick responses to emails. Whenever I had a question, the staff was providing answers within the hour!

Jam's amazing. Website, professionalism, logistics, attention paid to skill level-match. Everything way beyond their competitors.

Poor league. Raised the price for soccer every season I signed up and they shortened the game times. They are only after money. My team will look elsewhere to play soccer and I suggest you do the same.

Very expensive league, with the lowest quality gym court, the least support anda terrible reward for champion. I never never suggest it.

Been playing softball with jam / tssc for 10+ years. Great organization and team behind the scenes. Always very accommodating and they run some great leagues!

Gym class for adults! I look forward every week my game night with JAM, they do such a good job bringing people together! Join as group or as a solo player, either way you will have fun!

I was looking for somewhere to meet new people in Toronto and start playing soccer again after several years off. I’m so glad I registered - the quality of soccer has been great but also laid back abc inclusive. Everyone’s been so welcoming and I’ve met lots of new people, who, after three seasons, I continue to play with and against. The league is super well organized and the facilities have all been great. I absolutely recommend to anyone looking to play sports and meet people in the city.

Their customer service is thoroughly impressive! They are quick to respond to emails, kind and to the point!

JAM always sets us up to have the best time! Whether bowling, beach volleyball or softball the vibe is fun first and our squad keeps coming back for more! Thanks!

This was the first time I ever joined a softball league, JAM was nothing but exceptional with how organized and inclusive they are to everyone. Would highly recommend.

I’ve been playing with JAM for many years now from Beach Volleyball and Court Volleyball to Softball and All Sorts of Sports. I’ve joined as a team and as an individual on a variety of skill levels. Each experience has been fantastic with a great air of competitive spirit and heaps of fun. They offer a good variety of sports, venues, and available dates. The communication and coordination is flawless. Highly recommend!

I have played in several leagues with JAM Sports and always had an excellent experience! The league does a great job ensuring the divisions are competitive (well-balanced skill levels), the staff are quick at responding, and there is a great variety of sport options to choose from. I’ve always had a ton of fun with JAM!

I played in a co-Ed basketball league with JAM and found it to be a great way to meet new people. Looking forward to doing it again

Leagues are well organized and the staff is extremely accommodating! As far as I know, JAM is the only league in Toronto to have indoor beach volleyball.

I also met a lot of cool people through my beach volleyball league. Highly recommend!

Amazing sport club! So many options for different leagues and places to play! Great way to stay active and make friends! Theres an option to join as a team or an individual and they will put you on a team!

I also like the sub finder tool so you can sub for teams if you don’t want a full time commitment!

Staff at JAM are also very helpful and respond to emails quickly!

I rarely write negative review but hear me out.

Incredibly unprofessional. TSSC has held on to my almost $2000 which I paid well over a year ago. They have issued a “league credit” and refuse to process a refund and it’s been over a year. There is not foreseeable time when I can use this credit. And undoubtedly the league prices will skyrocket after reopening making my credits worth less.

As well, the head office is impossible to get a hold of over the phone and goes straight to voicemail and emails are replied with generic responses about “government mandated shutdowns” and “unprecedented times”.

Criminal. Very disappointing.

I am a HUGE fan of Toronto Sport and Social Club! I've played indoor and outdoor softball, as well as tennis with TSSC for probably over 7 years. I highly recommend their excellent programs. The staff are top-notch and have ALWAYS been helpful, going above and beyond. TSSC strives and succeeds at making sport accessible and fun for Torontonians! Thank you to everyone at Toronto Sport and Social Club!

Such a scam. The majority of 5 star reviews come from their friends + family and past and present employees of Sport and social club. Cassidy Miller left a 5 star review a few weeks ago and she is literally the daughter of one the owner's (Rolston Miller). And they replied liked they didn't know her to make it seem real. Do not trust these guys! Also what is up with the rude replies to anyone that leaves a poor review. Just because you didn't "find them in your system" doesn't mean they didn't have a legitimate experience with you guys. Do better.

Too many bad things to say about this league, from the way they handle conflicts to them stealing money during the pandemic. Spend your hard earned money on rec sports with other leagues.

As similar comments have said, TSSC is just holding our $2000 dollars of registrations costs and say we have "credits". And now they are not even offering the same services (no Lamport stadium games). I get COVID is a challenging time but how can you refuse to refund teams even though you are not offering the same services?

Overall, I would warn people against sending TSSC lots of money, not reasonable, empathetic or trustworthy.

I played in TSSC leagues for 8 years now, and I had a great experience up until recently. Our floor hockey team registered (and paid over $1000) for a floor hockey league advertised for summer sports. After our payment was received, they revised the summer sports offerings to NOT include floor hockey, and will only provide a credit back. SO we basically paid for a credit. It seems from recent, similar comments, that this is an issue across the board. I felt the need to write this review as a warning, to anyone who signs up for a league with them during the pandemic- you will not get a refund if the league doesn't run the sport in the end (ie.due to COVID precautions or lack of available venue). Seems like false advertising to me.

My teammates and I signed up for Spring league Softball as many people did. We were informed the dates were getting pushed at first which was fine because of Covid. We were then informed that spring league would run into summer. At this point people on our team became uncomfortable with playing under the covid conditions so we asked for a refund and we were granted it according to the league. Now they are changing their tune and we are getting nothing back. Have the emails they sent to our captain saying we’d be getting a refund and right after the 120 day window closed where we can dispute the charge ourselves they come back and say we aren’t getting a refund anymore saying there is lack of money. Sounds like league kept all our money in order to pay themselves to me. Convince me otherwise. Wouldn’t be surprised if everyone sat around collecting CERB and got paid off. The City won’t keep your money for permits that never took place, I literally work for the city of Toronto. I’d like this rectified on my teams end and for us to get a refund like I’m sure many other teams do.

After promising a refund for our spring softball. They are now saying they don't have the money to refund us.

We signed up for beach volleyball league with my team back in June and was hoping to play during the summer time. We paid $981.97 and the club ensured us that the games would be played. After a week of scam scheduled training it was announced that the league was cancelled and the amount we paid is converted to clubs credit which will expire in 18 months. Never ever trust any of the scam announcements or the leagues that this club organizes. This is a planned scam and it’s all about taking your money and converting it to club credits! Now they are coming back saying they are re-opening the facilities and starting their leagues again and even asking for more money than that was credited. They are going after another wave of scam! This is unacceptable! Be careful and don’t fall into this trap like us!

I cannot say enough amazing things about this organization.

Team sports weren’t really my thing in school, but Sport & Social Club has made it my thing as an adult.   Easy to sign up, incredible variety, and a great way to see peeps I wouldn’t see as much without our volleyball team.  These guys do things right.  Like any business, there is the odd hiccup, but their customer service is always on point.

Don’t waste your time with leagues that try to copy them: go for the OG SSC.

The TSSC is one of the best things to ever happen to me since starting school in Toronto! I have made amazing friends and connections. I joined as an individual playing Tennis and Ultimate Frisbee and we had an amazing season before COVID cut playoffs short: (we were given credits which I can't wait to use this fall now that playing is starting to get back to "normal'!

Most of these reviews are clearly fake first off. Second this company does put on decent sports. They over fill rosters to line their pockets meanwhile you get limited playing time if you are a male. Secondly the way they handled keeping money during the pandemic and not giving refunds, instead giving credits is totally wrong. STRONGLY AVOID PLAYING SPORTS WITH TSSC. Do your homework and find other sports leagues.

And before I get a respond saying “King Tut isn’t in our system”. Just fix your issues tssc

They signed us up for the volleyball league during COVID and told us the league will play regardless in July. We paid $981.97 to this scam and then 1 week after they told us they league is cancelled. They hilariously sent us an email that all money paid is now converted into credits and credits will expire in 18 months. This is a planned scam guys never trust this club. This is unacceptable.

Do you miss that competitive feeling of sports from high school, or your youth in general?

You've come to the right place, TSSC organizes the best leagues, in the best venues with the best staff.

If you want to feel like a semi pro's pro, you have to join one of their leagues. My experiences with flag football have been amazing every single time, whether co-ed, men's league, inside or outside its always a blast.

Also as a side note, I have dealt with one of their staff members, I believe his name was Anthony, on multiple occasions and let me tell you, the level of attentiveness and customer service this guy provided were unlike anything I've experienced in any setting. Keep up the good work TSSC!

Top organization for a huge variety of fun adult sports leagues! Head office folks such as O'Shea are very attentive to details such as informally connecting players to possible teams through their network, adding new sports periodically and holding quirky tournaments (like spikeball and curling). Reasonable costs with many different locations in the city. Highly recommend!

Nothing but positive things to say about TSSC! A great organization with excellent customer service & a wide variety of programs offered. I had wanted to join a softball team for many years previously, and was always too nervous. But I got offered an opportunity to play on a team and I'm so glad I went for it! The leagues have been so much fun & I have enjoyed playing for the past 2 years now. Everyone that I've met who works for TSSC are friendly and helpful and really make sure that people have a good experience. It's been so nice to meet new people and have fun playing a sport I love (all while getting a little bit of exercise too). I have and will continue to recommend TSSC to anyone looking to join a league/team & try something new. I look forward to playing on many more softball teams in the future!

Best sports league in Toronto. I have been playing soccer there for years and compared to other leagues, TSSC is miles above the rest. They are organized, reliable and have an awesome website that make the entire experience pleasant and simple.

If you are playing soccer, I do not recommend this league.they do not take player safety seriously.it is more like a rugby league.if you are a good player, you will be the victim of intentional attempts at injury.if you don’t want to leave in an ambulance I’d recommend you choose another league

Always a pleasurable experience with TSSC. Definitely the best sports league in Toronto. First joined TSSC years ago when I first moved to Toronto. I've been a member ever since. TSSC is well organized and has great customer service. Overall great organization!

TSSC is the best! I started playing soccer with them a few years ago and the experience has always been awesome. Well organized, reliable and excellent customer service. I’d say they have the best online setup too. They even offer a bunch of tools to help you manage your team if you’re a captain. I’ve managed a few soccer teams with them and they really do help make a captain’s life easier! All in all, I highly recommend them. If you’re thinking about trying a new sport or dusting off that barely used equipment, go for it! You’ll have fun and meet some great people along the way. Personally, I am so glad I took that leap!

I’ve been playing with TSSC for many many years (soccer, volleyball, basketball, dodgeball) and have nothing but good things to say about this league - it’s awesome! The club is well organized, it’s easy to sign up for programs online, and there are tons of offerings that cater to everyone’s preferences and needs. The people running it are helpful, genuine and sociable! There are other sports/social leagues available in Toronto, but in my opinion TSSC is by far and away the best in all regards. Keep being awesome TSSC - you’re amazing at it!

I played in the volleyball league and it was fantastic. It was extremely well organized and the competition was at the right level for my team. Would highly recommend!

I have played in many of the leagues available and i really love this club. The variety of sports and locations is great. The leagues are run really well with lots of support if needed.
If you are looking for social sports to meet people and get a bit of exercise, i highly recommend the TSSC!

I love TSSC! I've been a part of a beach volleyball league for the past 3 years and it's been an awesome experience. The leagues are organized and well run, and it's really a great opportunity to meet new people and play sports with friends. They also have a wide variety of leagues to get involved in, which is fantastic if you want to try a new sport! I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in being a part of a league or interested in meeting new people!

I was a member of TSSC for nearly 5 years. The year-round leagues, and tournaments, were always well-run and professionally managed. While a majority (if not all?) the leagues are self-officiated - which can take some getting used-to, this does not diminish from the level of clean competition in the sports. Should TSSC ever launch a Masters age group league - I'd return in a heartbeat!

I have played in many leagues with the TO sports and social club over the years and have consistently been impressed with the organization and variety of events and leagues provided. Highly recommended!

I've played in over thirty TSSC leagues over the past ten years. The staff are reliable and prompt in their responses and highly responsive to any complaints I've had regarding fair play or field conditions. The leagues are competitive but (mostly) respectful, possibly thanks to the 'sportsmanship' point system. Made some great friends and teammates, too!

Love TSSC. Have played a variety of sports over the years-volleyball, floor hockey, Ultimate Frisbee. It's an awesome way to socialize while playing organized sports!

This league literally changed my life. In all areas. I am a better person for all the people I've met with TSSC. Plus, I have 17 years of Tshirts still going strong and appearing in important photos! Here's to another 20 amazing more years!

Recreational sports are my favourite thing. There, I said it. Hit the field/gym/ice with a group of friends after a day in the office is something I look forward to all day, and the Sport & Social Club helps make the experience everything you'd want it to be. It comprises a fantastic community of people with a great culture, and there really is something for everyone, with a ton of sports offered, locations, formats, and skill levels. The customer service is always friendly, personal, and helpful, and the organization has helped me grow friendships old and new.

Member for 20+ years! The growth in membership and programs offered is a testament to TSSC's popularity and well-run leagues. Love the competitive spirit of the sports I've played - soccer, floor hockey, flag football and ultimate frisbee. 99.9% of the competitors are in the league for the right reasons - fair play and fun. Been lucky to play with a great group of team mates who enjoy post-game banter and razzing. Let's keep playing!

TSSC is amazing! I've been a proud member since 1997 and have played soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, softball, flag football and floor hockey. Loved how spirited and fair the games have been and how social teams are, both the ones I've been on and opposing teams (memories of opposing teams buying each other pitchers of beer at The Bohemian after games!). The original and still the best at rec sports here in the GTA. Thanks Kristi, Rol, Rob and extensive team!

I love being able to play team sports recreationally. I like that the fields are close and accessible; I like that I have options in terms of how much I play and when; and I like that if I call the office someone answers the phone! I've also met some great people playing ultimate. Thanks TSSC! I would like to be playing polo next year.

TSSC was a game changer for me in Toronto. I wanted to play baseball but could only find lame Parks and Rec programs where people came to play in flip flops! My TSSC team was so fun: great people, great fields. It’s is a great way to play ANY sport and make new friends.

Played intramural soccer this past winter and loved it so much! It’s an affordable and fun way to get out and be active once a week. Plus there’s so many different sports & locations to choose from. Also the website is easy to use and the customer service is great. Definitely recommend this place:)

I’ve been playing volleyball w Toronto Sports clubs for over 10 years. I’ve played both Court and Beach! I’ve taken a boot camp fitness class as well. Always super professional, convenient times are offered and I’ve met amazing people along the way. Highly recommend!

I attended the Toronto Sport & Social Club Volleyball Clinic in early 2019.

My instructors were Yousef and Joanne. Yousef and Joanne were knowledgeable and experienced players. They gave great 1-on-1 advice.

However, they failed to properly organize the clinic session. They did not have a clear agenda of drills or practices, and spend a large portion of the session rambling about unrelated material. They did not address the wide gap in skill level among the participants, and often forgot crucial instructional information. This led the instruction to be slow-paced and ineffective. 2 stars.

For classes that cost over $110 for 3 sessions, I was disappointed in the quality and organization. Unless substantial improvements are made, I will not continue with the Toronto Sport & Social Club.

In addition, the facility (Branksome Hall Senior Gym) was difficult to find and the instructions provided were outdated and inaccurate.
