Townline Fish & Chips

Firstly I ordered ahead of time was told there would be a 15-20 minute wait for my food, and when I get there my order is retaken again and I have to wait essentially an extra 20 minutes for the food to be cooked fresh as if I didn’t ordered ahead of time when I asked she said she wanted it to be fresh? Isn’t this why you order ahead? Wish I could leave a one star review went here and was sad to see the original staff / family was gone instead it looks empty and run by a single middle aged women (talk about fish understaffed) not only thing I didn’t see her wash her hands as she was preparing the food and going back and forth from the kitchen to the back. Now let’s get into the fish this is definitely not halibut fish it more looked like 3 cod frozen pieces of fish that were cooked together. The fish comes directly out of the freezer and has a freezer burnt taste as well, the fish is throw into the dirty oil with the servers bare hands and it’s so thin and crispy definitely not halibut! I went back to ask for a refund as I spend over $65 and was turned away and when I said the food was not how it used to be I was told that there’s was nothing that could be down so now I’m hungry, $65 short and will never be returning

Awesome place highly recommended. Me and my family went in the morning. The young lady who served us was attentive and very kind and polite at the same time. I’ll visit here again. Loved this place in town.kudos…

Very disappointed. Fries were just weird? Way to much batter on fish and over done. Had food from there a few weeks ago and it was great. Sadly not this time. Always nice to be able to taste the fish and not the hard crunchy batter. And cost 54: 00

My family and I had lunch (2 young children) and we all loved it! The haddock, chips and crispy fish burger were delicious and the clam chowder was very good! Wasn't greasy and wasn't overly battered- A LOT of fish and large portions for a very affordable price. The dining room amd bathrooms were very clean. Highly recommend!

Used to be the best place for fish and chips. Not any more. They made the portions smaller, it doesn't taste as good and the price is not that great either. I don't know if they changed owners or management, all I know is it's not as good as it was.

Bad experience today the fish was dry and I have been coming here since 1994 really disappointed nothing said nothing done

My friends and l really enjoyed our lunch at this exceptionally clean and friendly establishment. The haddock, halibut, scallops, and chips were delicious. The garden salad was beautifully presented. We will definitely go back again.

Not as good as reviews that I read before ordering. The fish was really oily, my onion rings were full of oil and the batter was not crispy. The worst part I drive home and they forgot my poutine. So i had a 15 min drive back.

I highly recommend this restaurant in terms of its food quality and nice service.

Also, this area is so beautiful and it would be the best to travel here and have a lunch at this restaurant.

I have a hard time understanding, won the Readers Choice Award 11 years! Obvious before the new ownership! If something is that good why was it changed? The original Tarter Sauce is gone, which is a huge, huge disappointment, the replacement is disgusting, the Fish on a Bun is no longer Halibut, it's replacement is like eating sand, and with coleslaw? I have been a long time customer up until the new changes. Not anymore, will never go back along with a lot of other long time customers!

Place looks alot better and cleaner since the new owners took over. Food is the same quality. Only thing I didn't like is they changed the tarter sauce which changes the whole experience that I have enjoyed for the last 20 years. I doubt I will be back.

Good food, but it has recently changed hands and there a few things off the menu. Also I've noticed that the quality differs depending on who is making the food and it's a bit pricey in my opinion.

The renovations really brought this restaurant to a new level! You can see and taste the difference, and it's worth.every.penny. The new tartar sauce is so fresh, which we prefer. My husband and I have been trying new items on the menu like the crispy fish burger and the buffalo chicken poutine. If you have room for it, the desserts are a must-try! The presentation is beautiful and tastes good too. It's an Orangeville treasure and we'll be coming back next week!

They done away with the good tarter sauce, the fish is smaller and not cooked properly. The gravy was terribly acidic, the mushrooms were full of oil. The cooking oil tasted long over due for change. Very dissapointed in new menu pricing. Long time customer, no time for return any time soon.

Dinner for 1one too expensive! $ 43 for clam chowder, onion rings, two small halibut a couple cans of soda! Fish was off white and course texture. Light batter by request was ok. Won't stop again on my next time thru town. Had to try it, disappointed at food quality.

Great place to eat. The renovations look great and the food was amazing. Staff was very friendly too. Our table had chicken fingers, fish and chips, scallops, buffalo chicken poutine and jumbo fried shrimp. All was great. Prices have gone up a little.

Townline did an excellent job of accommodating and serving our group of 15 people for dinner. Everyone really enjoyed the fresh salad and the fish and chips were fresh and crispy. The new management is doing a dynamite job!

This one is a true gem. Naturally modern and warm atmosphere that I think will suit most occasions. Food was amazing too!

Let's be fair.the food was really good, but the restaurant comes out very obnoxious. Come on! It is a Fish and Chip place! The place looks overly "dressed up", the price is too much.and come on drop that blues music.

The new owners have updated their restaurant, and it's a really amazing choice. They change everything! Nice dining, new menu, kind employees. Not grease batter, fresh chips, and the salad looks good Better than previous owners.

Excellent halibut and chips! As a Brit in Canada I was impressed with the flavor and quality of the fish. Service was friendly and fast. Salad presentation was very impressive. I will be back.

WOW! The new renovations look fantastic! Nice to see a fish and chips restaurant putting fresh lemon and homemade tartar sauce with the fish. Its about time a fish and chips place does it right. The salad was very creative and looked like a piece of art. We also had their homemade onion rings which were to die for. We will be back for sure!

Definitely a must go-to in Orangeville! We ordered the halibut, a large poutine, scallops, jumbo shrimp, and milkshakes - we were left stuffed and extremely satisfied, but already planning the next time we would return! The halibut was perfectly flavoured, and the scallops were fresh and juicy. To top it off, the service was lovely and quick! We will definitely be going back to try out the rest of the menu!

Was always a great place to eat but under the new owners I had an even better fish and chips experience!

Fish and chips were delicious. Could do with a bit of ambiance and definitely an upgrade or better upkeep. Service was also very good. We stopped on the take out side and ordered before we realized there was a dining room and you had to come Eder separately from the takeout.

Visited this restaurant with a few friends. Super friendly and fast service! The halibut and chips are to die for and same with the coconut cream pie.

What a great experience! We got the poutine, scallops, jumbo shrimp, halibut, and milkshakes. All were fantastic, especially the scallops. The portions were excellent and the haddock was very flaky and well cooked. What sets this fish & chips joint apart from the others is definitely the batter - perfectly crispy without being too greasy or heavy. Would definitely come again for a filling and delicious meal with superb service!

The fish was good and tasty but the service was complete and utterly terrible, no refills on water and coffee. Brought the bill before even asking if we wanted a slice of the lemon home made pie.

I am also scared of the school driveway and I will be careful with a group tn the first 5 or the other I am doing solo practice on Thursday when you get the camera is a big girl now I have to do something about the weather it's just my aim of the largest producers of the largest kashoot up to you by the sheer weight if you have any pets x the same time as I have to be a furry friends with the exception of new ops ii multiplayer game is 77 to play soccer later this week and I will be easier for you now have a stream to play with the lid and I am also scared to death with the exception of new and exciting and challenging

Back in Orangeville for the first time in over 5yrs. Went for fish and chips amd they didn't disappoint. New owners but still great food at reasonable prices.

Today was my first time going to Townline Fish and Chips. I ordered the haddock and salad, and coconut cream pie for dessert. The service was great and my food was brought out promptly. The fish was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. As well, the coconut cream pie was very good, the crispy coconut topping definitely brought it to another level. Overall, I had a great experience, the food was delicious, and I will definitely be coming back!
