I used to come here for all my travel needs but they have recently switched to some consultations being done by phone which I only realized when I got there. This was the first time I was given a phone consult even though there was a dr/np in the next room with another traveller so I'm not sure how they determine who gets an in person appt vs phone appt. The receptionist was very rude when I politely questioned the process and said I should have read the fine print more closely. I felt a phone consult could have been done from my home saving me the trouble of showing up. If this is the new way of doing things then at least make it virtual/visual or have a better phone/audio system. The call was very choppy and it was hard to understand the information that was being relayed and both of us had to keep repeating ourselves which left me with lots of unanswered questions still. I would have even been willing to pay a premium to have an in-person consultation as the phone consult was a complete waste of my time and money. I ended up booking an appointment elsewhere a week later which was an in person consultation where they had maps to display the travel areas being discussed and I left with a five page summary of all of the recommendations that i could review and refer back to. I will likely never go back to this place or recommend it to anyone unless they change their process.
My kids had to wait 40 mins to then sit in a room with a "doctor" on the other end of a phone line. We were then charged $40 for each child. Crazy money making scheme.
Mr and Mrs Rostami are very good medical professionals. They offer many professional services for your travel needs. In addition, they are passionate and supportive.
Im not to sure about all these other reviews but i had a great and smooth transition going in and out of this travel clinic with no problems at all. Great staff great procedures and reasonable wait time.
If your looking for a travel clinic in toronto stop by this location in toronto at queen and broadview station. All the staff are professional and highly qualified.
They allow online booking for locations that aren't even open and even send confirmation emails. They say to call and confirm prior but they don't answer their phones or call you back. Very bad business and a waste of time. Don't go there if you value your time. Reporting to BBB. Foolishishness!
Unprofessional, discourteous, and disrespectful. I understand that specialists have long wait times, but for a private clinic that does not take OHIP billings, being seen 2.5+ hours after a scheduled appointment is simply not acceptable especially in a waiting room with inadequate seating space. Save yourself the time, money, and hassle by doing your research ahead of time and seeing your family doctor for scripts and vaccinations.
After concluding my business and leaving the clinic I was contacted as the nurse working reception had neglected to charge me some service fees. Instead of approaching this collection of these fees in a manner befitting medical professionals, the nurse and clinic manager proceeded to harrass both myself and my partner (who also had an appointment). This involved calling us a collective amount of 15 times in the period of 48 hours after the appointment and demanding credit card payments over the phone. The manager admitted no fault of her own, including leaving an untrained member of staff to deal with the collection of medical records, clinic billing, and contacting patients. I await a written apology accompanying the agreed upon bill.
The reception guy is very rude and when I asked why charge me for 20$ more? He said because i called you for "follow up fee" and you should carful what you signed! I suggest reception should explain clearly any hidden cost to client befor asked to signing.
Amir Rostami is personable, knowledgeable, responsive, proficient and thorough. Amir is everything you want a good healthcare provider to be. I highly recommend this clinic. Long waiting hours because he dedicates 45 min of his time to each patient.
Im very unhappy with my visit to the travel vaccine clinic. Made my appointment weekes in advance for polio vaccination. Upon my arrival to the clinic I was then told that the vaccine had not arrived. No one bothered to contact me in advance to let me know what was happening. They are very unorganized. Not pleased at all.
Rip off! Not to say due to national vaccine shortage they charge you the same price for Yellow Fever Vaccine which is only a fraction of the dose good for 1 year instead of the normal 10 year. (roll my eyes but that is not their fault) And not to say when I go into the clinic the wait is about an hour and I heard some people have been waiting longer. The Dr forced me to take their prescription for Malaria and Diarrhea pills which after I have clearly expressed that I am getting the prescription and meds from my family Dr. In the end of I didn't even end up getting the meds from them and I still found myself being charged close to $100 prescription fee and $3.99 dispensing fee. Now I have to go back and at least get the meds as they have already charged me.: (
Good service! I was taken in as soon as I arrived for my appointment. Dr. Parham was very friendly and thoroughly explained all vaccines I need and precautions to take for my upcoming trip.
This place is insane. They completely overbook their appointments. There is not enough seating place for the appointments and the doctors seem all overwhelmed. You book an appointment for 4: 30pm and sit passed 6pm waiting to get your inoculations but they do manage to take your payment promptly so you can’t leave, as you’ve now paid up front for your consultations and inoculations. You hopefully receive before the sun goes down. Highly unamused. Also get the meds you need dispanced from your own pharmacy as if they dispense it they charge $$$$.
I really appreciated the service i had today. Dr. Kavian was really well travelled himself. Not only did he use Public Health Canada and other reputable sources on risk areas but he was also well travelled himself so he was able to use his local knowledge to determine what vaccines i would need. Thank you!
I had unfortunately a very long wait but Dr. Parham Kavian was very kind, knowledgeable and helpful which made up for it. He helped me prep for my next trip in addition to the one coming up. He also administered the shots for me himself because the nurses were busy and he knew I had been waiting for a while.
I travel VERY frequently to the Developing World for work and come to this clinic EVERY time. They are so thorough and always teach me something new. Parham is amazing and the nurse who did my blood work was so gentle. Almost didn’t even feel it!
Very overpriced. Wish I'd known the actual cost of vaccines. In addition to the $60 consultation fee, they overcharged me by $100 on the vaccines and my insurance refused to cover it.
I would like to start of by saying that Dr. Amir is the most caring professional doctor I have ever met. Has this elegance about him that makes you feel so at ease and all questions are welcome, we need more like him! But why is it that he treats everyone with such great respect but we are lacking this in return. He works these long hours between clinic and hospitals with utmost care and sleep deprived most of the time. He is also a doctor that has gotten an award for leading top internist of the world for the year 2018 and he is a well known cardiologist overseas. I understand he studied overseas and has to make up for it, not recognized here in Canada. But does one have the right to give him work overload taking advantage because being an international medical graduate and totally disrespectful of his qualifications. This will eventually start effecting his health, exhaustion, stress and well being. We all know what a doctor will tell his patient in a case as such why are we so ignorant of his prognosis! No one can go through this and not get burned out at one point and what will happen to this wonderful Dr. Amir then. I am right now embarrassed to say that I am a Canadian, this is not who we are!
