Trenanthia Cottage

House was NOT clean. Hot tub was full of algae. Furniture very old, uncomfortable and smelly. Patio door screen broken. Significant number of lights not working. Fireplace glass so dirty one could not see through the doors. Obscene Graffiti on great room wall not suitable for families. Most disgusting was the pillow I slept on. When I removed the pillow case I found disturbing stains (I am being polite). Would not recommend this venu. In summary, very poorly maintained facilities.

Great size and layout. Needs updating as it’s becoming run down and dingy.

We rented Cahoots a few times. Loved the decorating “vibe”! The carpets, however were very stained and the tile flooring broken & loose in the master bath. I have pics if you’d like me to send them privately.
Wouldn’t stop me from renting here again… just stops me from giving 5 stars.

We had a lot of fun. We booked the cottage for 3 days and were so so sad to leave. There are many games there including a pool table. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub as well. The house is comfortable for about 10-15 people.

I want to thank Mel and Alex for facilitating the best winter holiday our family has had in years. Cahoots cottage is beyond family and pet friendly. It is a magical place bestowed with the wonderous feeling of being at home and deliciously away at the same time. We felt welcome to Cahoots before we even arrived! Thank you so much. Loved it!
Such a lovely cottage with beautiful views. We most enjoyed a hot tub and then we got cozy by the fire from the fireplace. Got visits from the beaver and wild geese and had a taste of first snowfall of this year.
Ladies are very responsive to our questions and deserve the best rating ever! Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Woody cottage and I can tell you you will NEVER be bored during your stay. You've got the lake, fire pit, board games/puzzles, pool table, hot tub, etc. And the indoor wood stove fireplace saved us when the temp dropped! If you're looking for a family friendly/cozy environment I'd definitely recommend this place. It's also close to the city which was a huge bonus for us.

Amanda & Mel were super accommodating and responsive to any of my questions/concerns. Great people.

Trenanthia Cottage was exactly as I had hoped it would be.super fun, comfy and cozy. Communication is incredible and every last detail is thought of. We arrived to the cutest welcome sign, check in was a breeze, and the entire place was just as pictured. This was the perfect location for a girls getaway, that included hot tubbing, karaoke, laughter and fun. Not to mention the most incredible sunsets ever! We are already looking for a date to come back!

we had a great experience staying at this cottage and Amanda always response back fast with helpful info.we even talked about going back next fall on our way back, that's how we like there!

My friends and I spent the weekend here and boy was it ever fun!
Amanda and Mel are both incredibly helpful, they were quick to reply and always available to answer questions leading up to, and at the cottage. There were endless activities and things to do. The bay where the cottage is located is perfect, canoes are provided to go for a little ride as well. The beach volleyball court provides hours of fun on a hot sunny day.

The cottage was also extremely clean.

I definitely recommend this cottage to any group and can guarantee that you will have a fantastic time!

Amanda had excellent communication from the moment we booked! The cottage was so beautiful inside and out! This was the perfect spot for a get away for me and my group! Not a single complaint, I highly recommended choosing trenanthia for your next get away:)!

We had a great time there this summer. The cottage is really well located, the landscape is just amazing, and has lots of privacy. There’s a lot of resources to use, really good for families with children. Also really spacious for a large group.

Amazing cottage. Very clean. The bedrooms are spacious. Definitely going to book a girls getaway in the fall.

This was an absolutely fantastic stay! I booked this cottage for the weekend to celebrate my birthday with my friends and it was absolutely amazing. It was comfortable and relaxing and had so many amenities, such as a hot tub-which we thoroughly enjoyed-and a skeeball machine! It is a perfect getaway for a group of friends to have a great time and to top off the experience, the owners are extremely nice and really do ensure a great experience from the get go. Upon arrival there was a plate of cookies awaiting us and it was such a sweet gesture. We just had a great time with our group without having to worry about a thing. We will definitely be staying here again!

-very clean
-Well stocked kitchen in terms of kitchenware and utensils

A wonderful place. Clean, tidy, and big. Fifteen of us were very comfortable. The fire pit, sauna, hot tub, volleyball, and lake were awesome. The was a canoe, a row boat and a paddle boat. The volleyball court is not long enough to play practically. However, it could be re-oriented by 90 degrees to make it long enough to play comfortably. The owners are enthusiastic, friendly and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest, thank you!

The cottage was clean and well taken care of. Be careful. The views and different areas up there are perfect for a wedding

Great secluded cottage ideal for a nice getaway. The volleyball court was undersized which is the reason for 4 stars.

I've been there in winter and summer and have had a fantastic time both times. Amazing cottage, great service and organization. Will hope to go back soon!

It’s a great cottage for a large group. We had 7 kids that were thoroughly entertained by the treehouse in the cottage, the secret room, the games room, beach volleyball net, hot tub and most favourite the chalk board. Ping was amazing and accommodating. Thanks again for a great vacation.

Went up for a boys weekend and had a blast. Plenty of space to sleep, massive cottage, tons of bathrooms, and the hot-tub and sauna were awesome additions to the cottage experience. Slighty expensive, but for the space you're getting and the quick location to the city, it was really was a great trip.

Hoping to stay again next year if everything works out.

Pros: The frozen lake, spacious cottage and beautiful scenery outside

Cons: A group of my friends and I we rented this cottage for the family day long weekend. We find out the day of that we do not have any access to wifi and were advised that we would have access to “games” which every cottage usually provides the guests with. We were only notified of the wifi issue after payment was already made.

The washrooms had no locks so If your renting with a group of friends and your in the middle of doing your business.well you get the point

We were not informed we would have to use lake water to cook and shower. The water smelt like hard boil eggs can you imagine almost all of us did not shower that weekend. A heads up would have been nice about the water. It seems like it was actually well water. I don’t think it’s really a good idea to wash vegetables or any sort of food using well/lake water.

We were really unhappy with the wifi situation but the individual feels like she solved the issue.

We highly recommend this place! Our stay at this cottage was simply wonderful. Management was very professional, helpful, and provided us all the answers to our questions in a timely manner. We visited during a weekend in the winter and enjoyed a number of hikes in the beautiful muskoka. Being able to enjoy the sauna and hot-tub in the middle of winter was a nice bonus! We had left a sentimental scarf on the property, and our hosts were so thoughtful to track us down to return it. It was such a positive experience overall and we certainly plan to return with our family again. Thank you so much for making our stay memorable!

This place was amazing. It has a great vibe to it and the cottage is really unique. Hot tub and sauna are both great. The cottage itself is very spacious; There are two large living rooms, a large dining area, a small dining area, a massive kitchen, and not to mention 5 bedrooms! The master bedroom is HUGE with a piano and games. Insane! We all had a blast. A couple small nit picks include the water from the tap since it comes from the lake and that you need to take the garbage with you at the end. But that's no big deal. The hosts are all great and they give you a few small pleasant surprises when you arrive:)

This cottage was amazing! Lots of space for activities, fun games and movies all over the place, spectacular decorations, and a sauna that just won't quit!

Big, spacious and well maintained cottage but there was no clean water running through the taps which was dirty and smelt bad. We couldn't shower, we couldn't brush our teeth, we couldn't wash the dishes and we couldn't cook except by using our drinking water which we had brought along. Furthermore, we were told there is no internet only after we made our final payment and when we objected, we were told we cant do anything about it since we had signed the contract. We felt cheated and considered this totally unprofessional. We requested for some refund since we were paying for a service we weren't getting but didn't get one. Instead we were offered a few non-beneficial compensations like a twister game mat, a jenga game, photo booths, yoga mats and bath robes which we had to choose from!

In summary, I wouldn't recommend this place only because of the way it is being managed.
