Never again. Very bad customer service the dude not clean anything at first then charge me for cut i can do myself. So sad i put my feet in this place never again and my wife today and they tried to rip her so unfortunate.

Please, if I could give 0 stars I would. Why would you be braiding a child’s hair as if this is a grown woman’s head and then charge $107 for something that looks like this? If you can’t braid with extensions just say that… we could have found other alternatives. I don’t know why people take on tasks they can’t do!

Love going to this Salon, the ladies there are really good. Moved to Newmarket 5 yrs ago, and I found this place and I'm pleased getting my hair done there.

Very bad experience with my barber. Didnt look like he knows basics of hair cutting. Just cuts over the surface, not even at all. Will not recommed this place

Rude to foreign people. Acted like they couldn't understand me and laughed at me in my face because of my Indian accent. I work in banking and have never had anyone not be able to understand me. I left.the girl at the front desk ASKED ME TO SPEAK ENGLISH, because of my accent.even though I was speaking perfect English, only with an accent. Disgusting.

Front desk woman is rude. The cut was overpriced. Charge you for every little thing, so if they offer something ask how much it costs. Cut was uneven. I asked them if they were good with loose curly hair. They botched it.

I am so happy that I found TrendSetters, by far the best barber shop in town! I have been bringing my son here for over 10 years and the barbers are always great with him. The staff is wonderful:) I have been here when it's been extremely busy while at times I come in and a barber is ready to cut my son. To all complaining about wait times, it's a barber shop where every one is waiting to get a cut, what do you expect? You go in on a Friday for example; for the most part it's very busy where the wait time can be an hr or more, if it was slow what would that tell you? You would be saying that they are not good. Them being busy an you waiting maybe an hr shows you that your in the right spot, because their work is 100! Everyone wants a cut from TrendSetters. At the end of the day you can't please EVERYONE. The smartest thing to do when you go in to speak to a barber on whom you want to wait upon and the barber will put you in line, or you sit down an wait, I have been here and witness a customer come in at 10am an it was jam packed at that time, the person told the barber they will be back, so with them leaving to come back they are put in line, that person came back an was either next or one more before them other people may think that person is going ahead of them not knowing that they were there from previously and left and come back. As far as cleanliness goes the shop is very clean its common sense that if it wasn't a clean environment they wouldnt pass their public health inspections. If you are talking about outside, the parking lot of any business is the landlords responsibility of the property. Out there I can see it being dirty, an that has nothing to do with TrendSetters as they work inside an their environment is well kept.

The haircut is okay.the service is a little slow. The person who answers the phone wouldn't really tell me anything. When I went in they were ok. Not the most friendly staff, a little bit intimidating, all the barbers talking to each other and ignoring the customers

Odd that most of their good reviews seem to be there just to discount or try to disprove the honest negative reviews? Pretty clear the staff here are instructed to write fake reviews.if not the owner's themselves.
Even on their facebook page, any bad review is met with skepticism by the owners, and a subtle arrogance. How are they still in business? DIRTY SALON BAD STAFF RUDE WOMAN who answers the phone.

Great place, great service. David has been cutting my hair for sometime now. I highly recommend this salon. The barbers are very nice and professional.

Made an account just to post this! DO not go here! They ignore you, just like everyone else was saying in the reviews (just wish I saw them first). They let their friends get haircuts for free (I saw this) and took them before me, even though I HAD AN APPOINTMENT.

Don't waste your time going here. The barber who used to cut my hair here has left, and he at least had decent time management. First time getting my hair cut by another barber, he double booked the time slot. I waited 20 minutes, then was handed off to another barber who then gave me a terrible cut; probably because it was close to closing and they wanted to leave. In spite of this, I decided to give them one more chance. When I called to book, the girl who answered the phone didn't even take my name. When I showed up for my appointment, again I was waiting for 20 minutes, so I just got up and left. The barber that was supposed to cut my hair didn't even acknowledge I was there during that entire time. Terrible service, and not a well-kept place either. Never going back. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Should have never come here. Had an appointment, they let walk ins come before me. Could tell they favoured their friends and regulars over new customers. As a new customer you will be treated horribly. Lady at desk is sooooooo rude I almost walked out.

Great Barbershop in Newmarket. Friday is a bit busy but we no longer have to travel to Toronto to get a proper hair cut. Best place in York Region for sure. FadeZ is who does my sons' head, legit the best fades yhey have ever had. Skills are on point!

Welcoming atmosphere laid back staff and a real quality hair cut. They know what they are doing here and don't over charge. If you go in ask for Henry he's a little slow but that is because he is a perfectionist and the cut is worth the wait.

I went to Trend Setters because I heard it was good place and affordable when it comes to braids. My experience while I was there was very good and I have no complaints. A day after I had my hair braided I had some sort of reaction on my scalp and I took out the braids five days after it was installed. I went to my regular hairdresser and I was told my hair was severely damaged and I should talk to the hair salon I got my braids done. I did contact them and I was treated with hostility and rudeness. I gave them a week to give me a call and they did not contact me back. The first time I called I was hung up on and finally the following day I was told to contact the hair company. I've have been braiding my hair (natural and extensions) for 25 years and never had such a bad experience. The prices are expensive and probably can get the same thing done at someone's home for a more affordable price.
