Trotter's Auto Service

They postpone the delivery of the vehicle 4 times. Every time I call, they need another 3 days that turns into a week.

3 times I called the person said is going to check and call back. Waited up to 2 hours and no reply.

Very disappointed with the customer service. I am very scared that the service is going to be as horrible as my experience.

I came here back in March with my jeep 2018 had a clunky noise they replaced my sway bars… and ripped me off bc then 4 months later the same noise came back and I took it else where and they told me my link was missing these ppl either told me the wrong thing pretending to fix the issue and took a part from me and I didn’t notice till that same noise came back and here we are I was ripped off for 300$ for a part that was only 40$ and labour 80 … don’t go here they rip you off.

They were helpful when we called about hours and very courteous and quick when getting the vehicle.

Great service. They help me keep withing my budget by suggesting different options.
They always been helpful when I've had emergencies.

I can't even fathom how they have messed up so badly on my cars paint job. First they had to paint it 3 times because there was so much dirt in the paint every time they tried to give it back to me. Now 4 years later the paint and top coat are completely GONE from my roof. I took it to another auto shop and he told me it just looked like the sanded layer was there but no sign of any newer paint or the top coat. No peeling. Just gone. Now I have to pay another place to do it right. Such a waste of time and money. They do not stand behind their work at all. Clearly alot of corners are cut here.

Took my van in because the transmission was kicking out at higher speed.they looked at it and told me nothing was wrong. No charge.
One week later I'm out and the transmission just died.couldn't move the van at all.called Trotters who towed it to their shop to replace transmission.
(At my expense of course) Almost 2 weeks later, my van is ready so I go pick it up and notice on my drive home that transmission slips a little so I call right away and they said bring it back in so I dropped it off again. 2 days later I go to pick it up and they said it wasn't the transmission it was a loose bolt where I had hit a curb!
I called them within one hour of picking it up!

Fast forward a couple weeks and I'm getting my winter tires on (not at Trotters) and the mechanic there notices my transmission lines are leaking! Trotters said the lines weren't part of the transmission replacement!
No wonder the transmission was slipping!
After a heated discussion, Trotters did fix the lines at no charge but I definitely would NEVER use this mechanic again.

Great workers! The secretary needs some people skills! But beyond that Trotters is a great place for alit of needs

They towed my car what do you want me to say. One young kid out in the yard was really helpful, the other guys were pretty rude and unhelpful. The office seemed annoyed that they had to do work to cash me out. And the tow truck driver damaged my exhaust and bumper when they dragged it up on the flatbed.why would I be happy about any of this experience

I had been getting a check engine light come on for a couple of days. My partner had used his scanner to see if any codes would come up. The code that came on was the EVAP PO496. We called a couple of different auto repair shops, and Trotters was true to what they had said over the phone in regards to cost estimates. The gentleman who told me what needed to be fixed, speaks really fast, but was super nice (his name is Craig). They had me in and out in about an hour. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much Craig!

Possibly the best shop I have ever dealt with. The entire crew are my kind of people, and the mechanic that generally deals with me, Kevin, has kept my 16-year-old car tiptop without charging me for unnecessary things. I really, really appreciate that. She’s a Toyota, and her needs are modest, but given her age, things wear out. As long as I keep taking her to trotters in Hamilton, I’m pretty sure I’m going to drive that car until the end of time.

I have taken my car to Trotters Auto Service at 231 Gage for over 25 years. The owners are very honest and hardworking. They offer mechanical car and truck repairs, body shop and towing. Craig and Maryanne and all their staff are great!

I have been getting all my vehicles repaired, painted and serviced at Trotters since they were over off Parkdale. It is so rare to find a car repair shop that honestly treats you like family. They have always been super fair with pricing and even have refused to do work I thought I needed and wanted done, the owner Craig took the time to show the parts on the car were fine and then.get this.didn't charge me a dime for taking it apart twice to inspect it. You just can't find honest people like this anymore. I even send my 90 year old mother here.

Honestly, this shop was fantastic! I brought in my BMW, for a new gas tank, a job BMW quoted 4200$ to do. They did it for 850$! There service was excellent. They are super knowledgeable. And they are fast! They work 24/7 so you can usually get you car back the next day! I would highly recommend this shop to everyone in the GTA an ham area! Will definitely bring my car back here should it need anything else!

These owners can’t be trusted to know where to park their cars so I don’t know who would trust them to repair thei car, there would be a better chance your car get hits hit while it sits in the streets waiting to be repaired.overly entitled and clearly think every street spot within the radius of their business is theirs

I have a 2013 Kia Sportage and I needed body work done for a minor fender bender. They were super helpful, competitively priced, and quick! I dropped my vehicle off on a Monday and it was back to me on Wednesday. I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs affordable, switch and professional service. It looks the same as before my accident.

Was quoted a high cost of repair at another shop. Came here for a second opinion and saved $500. Great service and honest pricing!

Musta get my batteries here used for only 25 bucks. Thu don't honerd that price anymore.to bad: (

Went there for structural inspection and alignment. Price was reasonable. Joleen at the desk was very nice, helpful and patient. Only downside is there's not lot space for park because it's always busy there. Definitely will visit again for the future service.

Was recommended by a friend to take our car in for a safety. They lost the key fob to our car. They said to look for it at home and if we didn't find it then come back next week for a new one. I know its not at home because I drove the car there myself and physically handed the keys and fob to the receptionist. Husband asked for something in writing saying that they will replace the fob. Owner refused and gave my husband attitude. I got on the phone and asked for it and I got reamed out saying that "I've been in business for 30 years.you think I'd still be in business if I wasnt honest? " Look dude I'm not trying to fight I just want to make sure. "I am not writing you anything" and the yelling continues. Told him I'm not trying to start anything and that I'm not insinuating anything I just want to make sure the fob is replaced. He continued with his defensive attitude and it was assumed at the end of the conversation that it would be replaced at some point next week, maybe Monday. I will pay for my own replacement key fob. No way in hell I'm going back there to receive harassment from this person.

Great shop, honest and helpful. Word of caution though, this is a very busy shop so expect wait times.

Bi law towed my car here.when i picked it up there were muddy paw prints from a dog on the roof and trunk of my vehichle not to mention the scratches caused as a result.i dont know why they think it is acceptable for a dog to run ontop of a clients car.make this right trotters
