Some staff members are caring and helpful. However, some PSWs have treated my mother rudely, poorly and without compassion. She has Parkinsonism and must sit upright in a proper chair with a back, yet they refuse to place her chair where she needs it and can access it for sitting close to her table and phone. She either sits on her bed (very bad for her posture and Parkinsonism) or she struggles to move it herself. When she leaves her room they move it away again so far that it is dangerous for her to reach. Today they moved her phone to a place where she can't easily reach it. When she asked nicely if it could be placed back she was allegedly told not to tell them how to do their job. I provided them with full reports from rehab, Ots, Pts, swallowing and diet professionals, discharge reports and medical history. They have twice lost them. A family meeting generated some results but things have soon gone back to what they were. I am POA yet they rarely call me as it is long distance and they are prevented from calling long distance from nursing stations. I am securing a lawyer just in case. If I had this to do over, I would think twice!

Recently my wife had an accident that required convalescent hospital care after surgery. We were given a list of possible places for her and after visiting and looking at the facilities, I choose True Davidson Acres. While it may be true that my wife was only in that facility for fours plus weeks, I have only good things to says for the staff and the facility.
1. I visited my wife daily and was pleased to notice that the parking was free and adequate spaces were allotted.
2. The facility was always clean and well staffe
3. The staff were WONDERFUL. Most of the residents were long term care and each days, weekly and on weekends, the staff treated ALL the residents (that we could see) with the utmost respect and kindness. If a resident needed help eating there was someone available. If the resident had a colostomy bag, it was changed regularly with out fuss. If a resident had a bad night or was contrary, there was never a harsh word back to the resident. They were always treated with respect and kindness.
A great place to have your loved one placed in someone else's care.
