Turkish Consulate General in Toronto

They never answer the phone call. I've been waiting on the phone for 4 hours for two days, but they don't answer. I can't understand how they work, how they are irresponsible.

It is impossible to get a live person. Not in GTA area.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I've never seen such a disgusting group of employees before. Why work here if you don't want to do your job? Smug, incompetent, unprofessional and lazy. Anyone who fails to fulfill their sole purpose of helping Turkish citizens is absolutely in disgrace, the whole office is full of incompetent people talking instead of doing their job. Disgusting.

Disgraceful, they made my appointment at 2 o'clock for my appointment at 11. Staff is rude. Mebsure Taskin, the deputy consul general, who made my transaction, scolded everyone who came to him. Besides, he didn't do my work on time, and I already said this in the slightest question, and he is insulting his own citizens with his arrogant attitudes. Never make a transaction from here.

Waited for over an hour for my passport renewal appointment, only to return empty handed due to a mysterious “system error”. That’s what you get when you contract your IT systems to the lowest bidder.

Plus: The staff lies about your options when things go wrong, just to send you away. I was told I could get a new appointment for tomorrow — I knew that was not possible but the officer insisted. It didn’t take too long to get my hunch confirmed; I checked their website and the closest date is 10 days from now. So unnecessarily dishonest.

They are handling this whole election thing so poorly. I was there last week, I had to line up in cold weather under rain for about 2 hours not to be able to get in cuz they closed their doors. I went again this week and I just got in after 2.5h of waiting time. There only are 2 voting stations in the entire place, and the whole thing is so unorganized it takes forever. This clearly is done to prevent Turkish citizens from being able to vote since they purposely slow down the process for no other reason, at least in my opinion. Compare it to Canadian voting process where there are multiple voting stations all over the city, this should’ve been done in a more organized way. This is unacceptable since it is our right to be able to vote for our country.

The website has such confusing information for pakistani passport holders and whether one is eligible for evisa or not. So many different information online with no clarity. I thought having a Canadian PR would make me eligible for evisa but no, they don't find Canadian PR worthy for evisa. Only Pakistanis with USA UK Ireland or schengen valid visa can apply for evisa. Canada PR means nothing to turkey despite the relations. All a money making process.
To make things worse they take 6 to 8 weeks to process a visit visa application if you apply from Canada which is ridiculous. They send your passport and documents all the way to turkey for approval and stamping. They are so behind in their services. Being such a popular tourist destination the visa process is extremely long, difficult, time consuming, costly and frustrating.
I withdrew my application cuz who wants to wait 8 weeks to travel from Canada? Also if you apply from pakistan you get the visa in 1 week literally!
Horrible process here for Pakistani Canadians. Shameful.
Do better turkey!
Don't bother applying for visa unless you can wait 6 to 8 weeks for the visa to come. The visa fee is also so high. My recommendation is to choose another holiday destination.

It was a good experience, Paid parking lot is within walking distance. I went for my elderly mother. Although I hadn't made an appointment before, it didn't take us 5 minutes to enter and get our work done. Thanks.

I did have bad experience around pandemic but that was everywhere. The last 2-3 times (2022-2023) I have visited turkish consulate, i was very impressed with the service. As long as you have your complete documents for visa purposes, you get served in timely manner. The lady at the visa section is very professional, efficient and helpful. I am grateful for their service.

Very rude staff, if somebody will go to Turkey for first time and meet this rude staff absolutely they won't go anymore.
