Turtle Jack's Mapleview

If we could give this restaurant a negative number we would. One star is far to generous for Turtle Jacks Mapleview and Sam the manager on day shift today.
Our family of 5 stopped in for a simple lunch. Let’s start with the service at the beginning … over 30 minute wait for our drink order. They kids drinks came in 20 minutes, but my wife and I had ordered 2 large glasses of red wine. We waited another 10 minutes for them. The server who delivered the red wine promptly tipped them over the table and our family. My seven year old daughter was covered in red wine, her winter coat was also covered in wine. My wife’s white sweater has a 3” x 3” red wine stain and my oldest sons hoodie he just received for Christmas was has several large wine stains.
We were left standing in a full restaurant covered in wine as the server went to find something to clean it up with. I had to go to the front reception and ask for a manager.
Sam the manager on duty finally arrives to the table asking what happened. I explain that the server dropped of some side plates, forgot she had 2 full glasses of red wine on her tray and just tipped them all over the table and us. Sam’s response was “ sorry about that “ and stood looking at the table, seats and guests covered in red wine. I told Sam “ bad enough that this happened, but we are standing here and no one is even cleaning it up! ” Sam’s response was “ I guess I can move you to another table and replace your drinks” and that’s exactly what he did and nothing else.
My wife had to go into the mall and buy some clothes for my seven year old daughter to change into just to be able to sit comfortably. We finally were able to order and eat lunch. Sam never came back to check on us, but he did comp our 2 glasses of red wine.
WOW. A disaster of a lunch experience, over $300 in ruined clothes Another $50 in unneeded / unwanted clothes for my daughter, just to be able to be comfortable.
But hey, Sam gave us 2 glasses of wine complimentary.
Needless to say Sam and Turtle Jacks don’t even deserve a single star.
Absolutely the worst restaurant experience of my entire life!

We came with our 2 kids and they ordered cheese pasta and it came with a sad looking crudité plate with 3 apple slices, 2 carrot slices and 3 pieces of cucumber. The pasta was lumpy and super salty, and the kids barely ate it. I ordered the ahi tuna tacos and it just tasted like it was doused in thousand island dressing, definitely not worth the price. My husband had the Nashville chicken sandwich and said it was good. Server was kind and quick with drinks but completely forgot to give us napkins and cutlery for a good 10 mins after our food was delivered, we had to flag another server down to provide it to us.

Had the best time with the family New Year's Eve. Food, atmosphere, service were great! Thank you to all the staff, management, etc for making the evening a fun and pleasant experience! Keep up the great work it's much appreciated.

Visited this location today for lunch with a good friend. Upon entering the establishment we were greeted by several friendly staff members. There was no wait for seating during a busy lunch service. The server was attentive and informed about the menu and even suggested some nice accompaniments to the meal. I ordered fajitas which was nicely plated on a sizzling skillet. All in all this location offered a great casual yet elevated experience. I would like to come back again soon.

Service was not good, food was barely warm. Waitresses with long hair hanging in the foid they were serving! Made a complaint to the manager, told him they should have hair tied back.

I just have to share how pleasant Monica is. It doesn't matter how busy it is or how busy she is; she always greets you with a pleasant smile and such wonderful service. She is a gem and Turtle Jack's is so blessed yo have her.

The manager Nicholas is very pleasant and really cares about what he’s putting out. Was able to speak to him outside as we were leaving and was so appreciative to hear about the care that goes into his job and the food quality. The food, drinks and service were excellent. Awesome seeing this especially with the industry after covid.

Very nice restaurant decor wise.

The service was half horrible and half great, depending on your waitress. One was giving dirty looks or completely ignoring you spending time on what appeared to be a regular or a friend at the bar until it was time to pay the bill (I think her name was Emily).

The other young lady was fantastic, attentive, and helpful. I didn't get her name because I would definitely applaud her service.

The food, depending on what you ordered, was hit or miss. The chicken parm is delicious. The fish and chips are also fantastic. The chicken fajitas are absolutely gross. The presentation was lovely, but the chicken was super dry to the point it crumbled, flavorless and burnt.it was definitely not made fresh. The rice that is served on the hot iron plate is also burnt to the bottom of the plate, and the odor that comes with it is of burnt food. Do not recommend ordering them.

Waited over 20+minutes for service in the bar area, there were 3 other servers hanging behind the bar, laughing it up and having a good time amongst themselves, bartender was having a good time with her customer, checking things on her phone - meanwhile my wife and I waited and waited some more - Finally service from the bartender herself, took our order and not writing anything down, so I detect a little attitude… our order has been taken, and she walks away, not acknowledging the couple that she walks briskly past and they too had been waiting [they had come in after us] and now they are leaving - my wife tells the bartender to cancel our order and we leave as well - the front desk wishes us a good night, I reply that service sucked tonight and they had lost other potential customers as well, they reply that they are busy tonight and that we should have been in the dining room instead - really? Others in the bar area were finishing their meals, another family that had come in before us and something was sure wrong, no drink or food for the over 20+minutes that we were waiting, busy tonight? Sure, but what were the servers not doing that made it so busy?
We have been going to this location for many years, and today was quite the service - and the attitude was just oozing from these younger service people, not much respect to their elders - maybe I should try Earls next time, oh yeah I did and it’s worse, they are so stuck up over there…

Our server was Vuyelwa and she was so professional and nice! Chicken fingers were 100/10 so good. Manager was also really nice, although we didn’t get his name

Had the Yellow Coconut Curry Bowl for dinner and it was fantastic! Price was a bit steep but it was mouth watering.

First time at Turtle Jacks. Absolute worst experience I’ve had… not even worthy of a 1 star.

Big bang Shrimp is excellent
Chicken fingers are a bit dry and lack taste
Shrimp and scallops fettuccine is average

Music was too loud. Went on a Wednesday and just wanted to sit and chat with friends but we could barely hear each other.

I don’t give 1 star review but this time I feel I have to! We just sat there for 20 min. Waiters came and passed our table multiple times but did not acknowledge our table. I think they totally forgot about us. I mean not even water!
We left after 20 min.

Good food. I had the yellow coconut chicken curry meal. I felt that the meal was small. I was hungry afterwards. I felt that the prices were high. I guess that's what happens when you're in a popular mall.

Probably one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered at a restaurant. My daughter and I arrived around 7: 40. Our server took our drink order came back 20 minutes later and took our food order. Our food was delivered by the hostess without any cutlery or napkins. We had to flag her down to get some. We never saw or heard from our server again for 40 minutes. He never once came and asked how our meal was or if we needed anything. Won’t be returning to this location again.
