Tzatziki Restaurant

TLDR: The quality of food has gone down in case if you remember Tzatziki from the olden days:/

Have heard really good things about Tzatziki & have always wanted to try the same, however have heard from many of the veteran foodies who have lived in Toronto forever that the quality of food and the service of Tzatziki in the recent years have been really bad.

We placed a dinner takeout through Uber eats ordered Pita breads (x2), Pork Souvlaki Platter with rice and roasted potato wedges on the side (x2), Chicken Souvlaki Platter with rice and roasted potato wedges on the side x1), Spanakopita (x2) and a bunch of Tzatziki dips.

The Spinach in the Spanakopitas especially at the bottom had the after taste of whatever was cooked before the spinach in the pan. That yucky taste affected the quality of the entire Spanakopita in my view.

The quality of souvlaki platters weren’t really great as they used to be as well. The pork and the chicken kebabs were hard and not crispy as well

The pita breads were of good texture. The Tzatzikis were nice and rich. Definitely a 5 for the dip

Absolutely disgusted. Ordered BOGO calamari ($29) and chicken souvlaki dinner ($32). Not only is the price criminal for deep fried rubber which sadly was the state of the calamari, but the chicken plate came with literally 3 potatoes, the most pale, soggy fries, and the chicken came with HAIR wrapped around it. I could throw up. Not what I expected for a restaurant in Greek town? The tzatziki was good though so I guess that is something?

Stay well away from this place….

Value for money is not there and the salad serving is ridiculously small. Definitely will not be ordering from here again.

Mixed gyros plate was a little dry when it came to the pork. Next it would be the chicken gyros that was tender and not dry at all

I was severely disappointed with how much Tzatziki has fallen off. They were my go-to restaurant for Greek food whenever I was in the area.

The chicken soulvaki dinner was decent. I’d give it a 3.8/5

The pork gyro was packed to the brim. If you want bang for your buck then opt for the gyro. I’d give it a 3.6/5

The Greek fries were terrible. Lack of taste and lack of proper toppings. They needed to be seasoned way more and the fries must have been sitting for hours. 2/5

Pork gyro is my go to. Open late cheap eats for Greek food. Portions are always good, they never skimp on toppings. Results in quality of food is always the same whether it's super busy or dead.

Staff are always friendly and will always go back. The Italian restaurant just around the corner next to it is also owned by owner and has good veal sandwiches.

$73 for 2 chicken souvlaki dinners, thanks for sparing the two olives. φτηνό

I’d advise against ordering takeout here, received this in my salad in my order from skip the dishes. Only noticed it when I had finished the salad. Spent the rest of the evening dry heaving

UPDATE: In response to the owner’s reply; as earlier stated, this salad came pre-packaged from TZATZIKI RESTAURANT with a dead insect sealed inside. Clean your establishment properly before you get shut down.

The food was really good and the customer service was amazing. I felt I was at a friend's house. I've been to many restaurants and you don't get this even in the fancy places. I will be back and I wish more restaurants treat customers this way. The gentleman asked if we needed anything and really attentive to us. I know it's not always possible when it gets busy, but I'm now spoiled lol.

I ordered late last night around 1am.in between my PITA STACK THERE WAS A DEAD FLY.
I'm SICK TO MY STOMACH.

Best place to enjoy your time and eat a very delicious meal.
Very generous portions and an amazing server (Fotis) we had such a wonderful time with him.
We will be coming here always for sure

My order was through DoorDash. My family was very hungry so when the food arrived, we were all ready to dig in. We were not able to eat some of the items because, a) I received a burnt burger with copious amounts of ketchup on it to mask the burnt meat. This was for my kid. We threw it out.b) Also I received a warm (!) Greek salad with wilted and soggy lettuce. Why was it warm? Because the salad was placed in the same bag with the hot fries. It is a well-known fact that how you package the food will affect it on the transfer to the house. Hot food & cold food should be kept separately. Condensation build up made the lettuce soggy. How can you serve this kind of food to customers? Does the person at the grill have his eyes closed? When the ketchup was squirted onto the burger did the cook not see the burned meat? This quality of food is deemed inedible and therefore not fit for consumption. Consider yourself warned.

Worth trying.

Great product and worth the money. The portion size of the kebab wrap is great, and they're really generous with the tatziki sauce. The fries are a huge disappointment and should be changed. They're soggy and not crispy at all. The toppings are all fresh and the whole wrap tasted good. Kebab is a little spicy.

Otherwise, a safe choice. Delivery via ubereats.

I ordered the buy one get one free kabob I even called to ask for extra Tzatzik when it came I only had one wrap and fries were soggy and every was not in the pita! Love this place so it’s disappointing and this has happened two times now! Thanks for the sauce on the side but only my daughter ate and we are wt the hospital!

Came here with my boss & Coworker. Really good food. Solid portion sizes. Good staff & Quick service. The owner even came out to talk to us and ask how everything was!:)

Really good Spanikopita & great Baklava.

V02: There is no way to update and give a new version of the review without loosing the earlier version. So i am writing both versions this way. Tzatziki has improved from earlier state, same taste yet the portions and quality have improved. This review is after recent 12 orders. We are again back being regular.v01: This was our favorite place in the neighborhood, we ate minimum 2 times every week. Suddenly the cook changed, one evening we ordered 2 gyro pita and total chicken was less than what I used to get in one gyro pita for my lunch. Moreover a portion of the chicken was burned and some not cooked properly.
Before staffs used to be very friendly and nice, now the staffs are really rude and least cordial in interactions. So we are not so keen about the place.

I usually order from here on Uber eats and I guess third time is definitely not the charm. To begin with. I asked for extra tzatziki, they didn't bother adding it. The Kebab was raw and undercooked. To be frank. I rarely have to write such a bad review on a restaurant. But this had me quite Irked. Aside from ignoring requests. I take issue with the preparation of the meat.

We waited for 15 min to place the order and they ignored us so we no choice but leaving and going somewhere else. The cashier was taking care of all the delivery guys, even the ones who came after us, but didn't take a min to take our order.

Best Gyro place in Toronto, every time I need to feel like I'm back in Greece, I come here to get quality gyros that definitely the best bang for buck. The Owner makes the experience even worth visiting. After you go a couple of times, he'll even remember your order. Sometimes there is a bit of wait because they can be busy, but it is definitely the best gyro place in Toronto

but the little itty bitty baby fries that comes in the pita are so cute and tasty and i love to eat them in the EXACT same way some people love to eat BABY carrots

Literally my favourite gyro place in all of toronto. The owner is the sweetest and so friendly. The environment is super homie and comforting. The meat is so juicy and they are generous when it comes to portions. Not too much sauce, not too much toppings - just a perfect portion of everything in a gyro. It’s so flavourful. Even if the food wasn’t good (which is impossible) I’d still give a 5 for their amazing customer service. 100000% recommend!

Terrible service food was good but was rushed and unorderly. The guy came out saying to us complaining why he didn't get a tip when in fact he did nothing to serve us. It was pretty much self serve. I truly believe if you want tip you earn it don't expect it. Terrible to Little customer service. RUDE. His whole attitude was a turn off once we stepped in

Had the pork gyro pita, it was huge and delicious. Great value considering the quantity and quality.

Absolutely disgusting and disrespectful.i had ordered take out. The server and the cook was absolutely disgusting lead discussing and this respectful by all means These guys are not even close to be professional My food was just sitting there waiting to be served when nobody cared about me as a customer waiting for his food. On top of all of that the server was swearing at me and Greek.people be aware of this location. Absolutely terrible service and the owner himself was sitting outside when he absolutely did not even acknowledged the fact that we had had argue about the food being delayed.the cook and the server told me to not come back to this restaurant anymore that's how they were rude to me.

I love coming to Tzatziki, they're open late and have really good food. Portion sizes are big too. Awesome place.

The worst and most rude store in Toronto ever! I will never order from here again! The owner or the worker there was very rude n make u feel like regret! Was there to pick up my order but it was no hot, also that man was very confident to blame you! No, sorry!

They have some good deserts but they ruined my sandwich by including soggy french fries in my Chicken Souvlaki. Seriously? French fries in my sandwich are you guys crazy? I ordered Greek not a McDonald's infused chicken on a pita smothered in "French" fries. I'm actually surprised they didn't replace the tzatziki with ketchup. I ordered from Uber eats and considering I had to use my Gmail to leave feedback because Uber has no such feature is besides the point. No, I will not for an over priced "pretend-authentic" Greek food again from Tzatziki restaurant.

It would be an absolute travesty not to share with the world how absolutely fantastic these guys home made Baklava is. Like I'm sorry, how can something be SO DAMN TASTY? Keep it up you legends

Order onions rings and a pitas gyro.
Rings were good.
Souvlaki was discussing, frozen, the fries where like a ball stuck together, the chicken was like, if you open the frige and have a chicken in the frige for 3 days and grap a piece and bite on it! Frozen, garbage! Dropi!

The food was fine but the service was abysmal. I used an app to pre-purchase my food so I could avoid hanging around the restaurant. When I picked up the food the owner criticized me for using the app, saying they take a percentage of the cost. He literally said i "took food our of kids' mouths" by using an app to make the purchase. So why be on the app if you don't like their commission? Would not go back again.

Worse Tzatziki I ever tasted
Carrying that name should had the best! It was yogurt with shaved cucumber if any and some dill
No salt, no garlic, no lemon no flavour, like eating plain yogurt

Great pork and chicken gyros at a reasonable price. Probably among the best choices for late night eats in the area. Generous portion sizes.

Not to distant 2 gyros and fries were $10 on the Danforth. Now $7.5 for one gyros. Please to inform that this gyros on a pita is excellent and there is no heart burn after eating it. Fresh ingredients. Highly recommended!

Great table side personality that keeps you entertained. The food was fantastic. The lemon potatoes had me dancing in my seat "so good". The avgoleneno soup was tasty but could have been heated a little more but very filling and hit the spot. Gyro and chicken souvlaki dinners were really large portions and worth the money. Definitely a small and inviting place to visit again.

Went back there after a very.long te and was pleasantly surprised. Super food (and I'm not talking about what Canadians consider Greek.food) and great service. Keep it up!

4 stars sounds right. Nice clean little quaint place, 32 seater. Good selection of food. As a Greek, I'd do it again. Bathrooms were alright too.

I met a greek waitress there was absolutely stunning looked like khloe kardashian have been back millions of times never saw her again

I ordered a gyro and they gave me a cardboard box filled with chicken. Oh well guess I’ll order from Mr Greek from now on

Went to this place with a few friends. While the service was decent and the food was made fast (we dined in), we were asked what we wanted to drink and we just said water. The man who asked us proceeded to give us 3 bottles of water and then charged us $2.00 each in the end.

The salad that was $9.00 was also one of the least justified salads we've ever had. It was lettuce with olives and some salad dressing. THAT'S IT. It was not horrible, but it was nowhere near worthy of $9.00.

Good food and the service staff were nice. Gave it 4 stats because the wait was long but I suspect it was because of Valentine's day. Next year maybe staff more folks. Worth trying for sure.

Was charged 2 dollars when asked for water, and given bottled water. Ordered a full salad for myself, and staff brought a small salad and told us it was on the house for us to share while we wait. Never got my salad and was charged for a full salad when Bill came. The wrap was full of fries and not alot of meat. Price was fair for everything except the small salad that I didn't even know was for me. Tzatziki sauce was nice though.
It seems like it's built as an order and go restaurant, as there are not alot of cutlery for sit down. Recommend only ordering to go and go for gyros only.

Some friends and I ordered from here, they got there food relatively fast. However it took an additional 20 minutes for me to get my food, meaning my friends' was cold by the time I got my order. There was another couple who had came before us who were still waiting to get there food even after we had left. They really need to reevaluate the way that they take and process orders!

One of my favourite Greek restaurants in the city. The food always tastes good and their Tzatziki sauce is really good. Always enjoy coming here and recommend trying it out.

Extremely rude to customers. Charging you extra for things without notifying you before hand. Bathrooms were awful and saw a few bugs crawling on the walls. Don’t recommend

The pork gyros pita is good, but I think red onions would have a better taste with the tzatziki sauce and the meat opposed to white/sweet

The food was freshly delicious as always. But that 45mins wait for our food my friends and I did was just ridiculous! Please work on your customer service skills.

The staff is amazing and friendly. I love the food it is far better than Mr. Greek. I will definately go back. I had the vegtable tzatziki wrap with the feta pie. I highly recommend. Thank you!

Ok so this place really broke my heart. At first i loved it. About 2 months ago i had a souvlaki sandwich and it was PERFECT.i have gone back FOUR TIMES since and EVERY time they have completely botched my orders. A week ago i picked up a big order for my birthday with my cousin for me and my friends. Got home finally so excited to eat. Open the bag and its not our order AT ALL. And there was literslly no one else in the restaurant at the time so.idk how the server couldnt remember 1 order. When i got back they happily replaced the order. Inconvenient but allright cool ill always give a place a few chances especially when so impressive at first. Unfortunately i brought this new order home and guess what? It was literally just fries rice and a big hunk of pork gyros with no lettuce no onion no sauce no tzatziki NOTHING. Just dry meat and dry carbs LOL. I was too tired to even bother returning it and we ate something else.
Just tonight i brought my mom here telling here it is fantastic and me hoping that the last time was a fluke happily go to try a local shop out again. They have a great rep and the food tastes good. But the workers behind the counter are totally daft. Today i asked for NO TOMATO on my order "everything but tomato please" it was written on my sandwich bag. Went home with my mom open the bag and? It WAS ONLY TOMATO.what the heck is wrong with these guys im thinking this is hilarious its written right on the bag.
Anyway i breath deep and tell mom "this is the wrong order again".
We drive back. Worker begins to replace my order happily and i thank him. My mom states her sandwhich is missing lettuce. Worker begins to inspect the sandwich with his dirty BALL POINT PEN.lol im thinking oh god my mom is gonna die. Lol. Anyway my mom os a bit dramatic and the employee realizing what he did throws out the sandwich and makes a new one. These souvlakis take about 15 minutes atleast to cook so every replacement.is about 25 minutes of time wasted remember that. And thats why we eat out. To save time.
Anyway they replace the order all well and good i get open sandwhich looks good take a bite and BAM huge wack of tzatziki literally only tzatziki in my mouth no meat or anything like just a MASSIVE amount of tzatziki hahahaha. I almost gagged i dont know why ppl cover food in so much sauce. Anyway no problem! Im adaptable. I empty it and scrape the humongous amount of tzatziki in my small sandwich. Continue eating and then almost yak as i bite into a piece of pork that was immediately recognized as UNDERCOOKED. It almost felt like raw chewy rubbery tofu idk man. It was not good. Cannot eat it. Very dissatisfied. I had alot of high hopes for this place the price is spot on and the food tastes good but they just dont know how to remember or think or really consider the person eating the sandwich when making them and for that reason i cannot reccomend it. Unless like maybe you dont mind your order being wrong half the time and you love a mouthful of tzatziki
