U-Haul Moving & Storage of Ajax

Allow for 1/2 day rentals. I returned the trailer two hours into the third day of rental but was forced to pay for a full three days. Not a lot of money but unfair none the less. U Haul could easily rent the trailer upon my returning it which is essentially double dipping. Not a fair deal for the customer. Had I space to keep the trailer for the full third day I would have.

I recently had the pleasure of assisting my friend with a move, and I must say, the entire process was quick, easy, and utterly painless. What impressed me the most was that the level of service has remained consistently excellent over the years. It's a testament to Kim's dedication and commitment to providing customers with a top-notch experience. It's rare to find a manager who not only sets high standards but also ensures they are met consistently.

I highly recommend this facility for anyone in need of storage or moving services. Thanks to Kim and the entire team, my friend's move was not only stress-free but also a positive and memorable experience. Keep up the amazing work!

I’ve been to this location two times. And twice front desk worker Jocelyne S was very rude and arrogant.
I rent U-haul trailers a few times a week for my business and I never seen worker like this.

I went this location second time door was closed non of them available there I call the number provided nobody picked the call.its second time waist my time was don’t know why u-haul provide them there service it should cancel contract with them

Although refill the gas same level as before they charge me for the gas money…. Email sent but no response…
Return the vehicle during the business hours but they said they will check and return it…. They could have told me on the spot if they have any issues with gas……
Truck was very old with no maintenance and due to that uses very high fuel…. Paid $20 for gas for just few kms

Made the reservation process and picking up the rental truck very easy. Prices were reasonable and staff was friendly.

Wow. Ill never go to another U haul again. Reallu efficient and effective. I sigmed for my trailer, got around back the guy is already waiting to load me up. Everything took like 8 minutes. Crazy.

Ordered at warden location, truck was available got a call after saying it’s not and was sent to Ajax was charged for extra km and was not happy about that warden location should of covered the cost due to saying truck is available then last minute saying it is not.

This is the fourth time I have rented a 6 X 12 closed trailer from U-Haul. I was super impressed with the staff. They were very helpful and wouldn't hesitate to recommend others to this location. Thanks!

Used storage unit for almost a year. Clean, never busy, temperature controlled, easily accessible

I purchased a new vehicle and was looking to have a hitch installed. Uhaul happened to have the hitch we needed, so on July 18,2022 we booked an installation appointment at this location for August 13,2022. I received a confirmation email with my times lot and an invoice for the parts and services. A day or so before my appointment, I called to see how long the appointment would be. I was notified that my appointment was not an actual appointment, but a placeholder, since the parts may not be in on time. I went back to check all of my documentation and was able to confirm that there was no language in my emails indicating that this was the process. I was then told to wait until I received another confirmation email, which would be my actual appointment date. A week or so after my original appointment, I received a confirmation email for August 30,2022. I drove 75 minutes to the Ajax location for my 11: 30 appointment. I was on site for an hour before I was notified by the Manager that my hitch was not there. They offered to do the electrical since I was already there and would cover the labor costs for the inconvenience. I was then told that they would overnight my hitch and have it brought to a closer location for installation. I got no call the next day, or the day after. I called Ajax on September 1 indicating I had no update on my overnight hitch or appointment. I was told they were busy but that the hitch had arrived and would be delivered to a Scarborough location the next day for installation at 1pm.

The next day, I called the Scarborough location before arriving to confirm my hitch was there and they said I had no appointment for me, but could schedule me for the 6th at 7am so I could still get to work.

On the 5th I got an email saying my appointment was now on the 7th at 11am because the appointment on the 6th had been booked with no hitch technician on site. I advised that I could not make that time slot.

As it currently stands, I have no confirmed appointment and now the Scarborough location has not been able to confirm my hitch is even on site.

The lack of coordination, communication and inconvenience has been absolutely appalling. I have issued a complaint and hope to have a resolution that compensates for the tremendous inconvenience this run around has caused.

I feel bad, because they were understaffed, it was one guy's first day, and everyone was working hard and really nice, but, gotta tell you, when it takes over an hour to get your rentals - really cuts into, and sets a pall on, your moving day.

Employees are riding around on skids attached to a pump truck, the lady (blonde) she was very ignorant and disrespectful, I have never been treated this way rude

I cannot speak to the rental experience, but the hitch installation experience was terrible. I came in for my appointment at 11: 30AM and was told that it should take 1-1.5 hours maximum. It's almost 2PM now, I'm late for another appointment, and the reason I was given is that they had to drive to get the part somewhere in Scarborough. How can you not have the part on-hand when you know my car model and the time of my appointment? I would not use this location again for any purposes.

EDIT2: I had a chance to test the installation, no issues with the work performed.

Very poor customer service from two sales associates (at closing) and manager. Associates were inconsistant with information, condescending and threatening in their approach toward a customer. Manager was off site and intervened by speaker phone only and yelled at Customer without knowing the full situation. Matters escalated and were unresolved in the end. I'm concerned for future customers who may need to rely on the service from this location. All employees involved do not appear to have appropriate Customer service skills. I'm appalled by this encounter.

Went to pick up à 7 feet trailer couple days back. It was my first time ever towing a trailer and I had many questions. Jake was working that evening and was enormous in helping out, guiding and giving tips. He helped pick out equipment for my hitch and installed it. Will definitely be returning to this location.

Rented here a couple times. 5* customer service received each time. Trucks are surprisingly very good on gas. Would rent here again and suggest others for good deals with equipment and rental service at this location. Good job UHaul Ajax!

It was impossible to locate the key drop box. Had to walk around for 30 minutes to find it. This location needs better navigation and signage for after hours drop off for the key. Added photos for anyone that needs help locating it.

Quick, fast and friendly service. I didn't book in advance for my rental but the person who served me said he will see if there is anything that is available for me to rent and found what I was looking for. He was friendly and very professional. Didn't had to wait long.

Larger single purpose rental which I like better than the store front places. Good service. They hooked and unhooked the trailer for me.

Be careful and always calculate your amount while you are in the store. They will over charge you.

I was given a truck with a loose brake caliper retraining bolt. Waited on phone for 45mins to talk to anyone, another almost 2 hours for a mechanic to come by and look at the truck. This lost time resulted in a 200$ deposit being lost. When asked they said they could only give a 50$ credit for the time lost. Truck inspection sticker said it was inspected within the month with a LOOSE bolt on a major braking component. 0 star review if I could.

I got a rented van quickly and efficiently. Drop off was easy and non time consuming. Very professional staff. And covid prevention is in place.

Don't go for customer service or any type of human assistance. Rude abrupt cold incompetent superiority attitude. As a rule I always go the the cashier not the Kiosks but I cant wait till uhaul replace all these customer facing ppl with self serve machines.paying them is wasting money.

Went for out 3 pm apt only to be told it was scheduled for next wed at 10.30 am. This time and date was never in my discussion with the call centre. Got my confirmation number out and I put the vehicle on the racks because the technician was afraid he couldn’t. Long story. So after the car being on the rack for 35 minutes they still had not started it. Not sure why. But the manager came outside and told me my appointment was not today. Some one else was booked in that time. Well after another 25 minutes and screaming at the store manager on the phone (only because she started it). I drove my car out of there and came to Oshawa where the staff are fantastic. My installation was fast and discounted. Thanks Oshawa for restoring my faith in friendly service

I only rent travel trailers with them. So honestly speaking the staff there seem ok. I never had an issue with the services that they provided to me.

U-Haul is clean and organized; the staff was friendly and helpful. Checking in was effortless as staff was waiting and quickly assessed the return. I would definitely recommend this location.

Very Bad Experience with this location, no body gives you right information and the results of this they charge you extra from your credit card, basically they robbed your money. So be careful guys, staff was very rude with everyone.

The worst experience ever.zero star is likely over rated.spent 5 hours on the phone to locate trailor hitch harness this Location carried it.first they gave me the wrong one and told me if I couldn't quick connect it myself I should pay them 180 dollars for install.went there to pick it up the correct part after call to manufacture and they told me they ordered the part and it would be a week.the part was on the shelf the whole time. HEAD ACHES AND A RUN AROUND

Stood outside from 11 till 12: 30 looking for the dam dropbox. Doesn't help that it's dark out in front of the entrance. The service was excellent as well as the vehicle and how I received it. But that early drop box should be more obvious unless I'm completely blind. I held on to the key to be sure that the vehicle is safe. I will now have to make arrangements to drop off the key. This was really a bad way to end my day after the hell of moving. Not to happy with the results and the hr wait Time to speak to someone who had know Idea what I should do. So i just told her to document this all.

It was just frustrating to have my day off at work for my appointment on August 25th at 3: 30PM. I got to the place early to have a hitch installed to my car. I waited till 4: 00PM only to be told that particular item is not available at the moment. They could simply called me and rebooked my appointment instead of me going there for nothing and completely waste time.

I called the store literally 30 times nd no one answered I had to physically drive to the store to get answers about my booking.

Had a reservation for mobile pick up for 8am. Showed up at 8am and tried to pick up the truck and it wouldn’t process the transaction because they never got the truck ready! It told me to wait for open at 9am when I have a elevator reserved across the city at 9am. What a joke. Avoid this location and rent from express mart on harwood. Managed to get it from them in minutes.

They have mentioned wrong location for the dropbox it took one hour to figure out where the drop box is bcz they have put wrong picture online

The facilities are very clean, the staff was helpful and courteous. Trailer hitch was installed correctly and quickly.

A lot better than I expected it to be, very quick process and the staff did an amazing job during this pandemic.

Kim is a sorry, pathetic excuse for a manager and by far one of the most disrespectful and incompetent individuals with whom I’ve ever crossed paths. Sorry U-Haul, but you guys definitely dropped the ball on this one.

Rented a van from this location for dumping of garbage which was in my garage. After dumping garbage and making sure the van was clean returned it at the same location. The lady who collected the keys at the store says its good and I can leave. A few hours later when I checked my credit card I noticed some additional charges from U-Haul. I called the store and they told me that these are cleaning charges because I returned the van dirty. I told them that this was not right because I know I cleaned the van. She told me that she has pics.and she will email it to me. I waited all day but got no pics. - even the next day (Sunday) there were no pics. I called the store again on Monday, spoke with the Manager and she said the same thing 'Van was returned dirty and they will send me pics'. I waited for a couple of hours and then got a call from the Manager that actually they dont have any pics.and that they will return my cleaning fee. I was surprised and shocked - they kept telling me that they have pics as proof that I returned the van dirty but actually it was a LIE. Dont trust these people - any time your return a rental make sure they give you in writing that they have inspected the vehicle and that there is nothing wrong with it.

Service was pretty slow. Also paid credit and the guy told me I'd get my deposit back, but never happen. Just be careful!

Loved it. Good experience overall. Friendly staff and the guy even agreed for a small test drive on the truck since it was my first time driving a truck.

The store was clean and well presented from the exterior and that extended into the interior as well. I was not immediately greeted by staff, however they were engaged with a customer, so I don't mind.
Everything was clearly labelled and demo items were on the floor so you could gather a sense of the scope of your moving needs.
At the counter (I bought some boxes) staff asked about my needs as they related to other items including tape, binding cord and padding.
Great experience, only reason it's not a five star is that I have only been here the once.

DO NOT get a TRAILER HITCH installed here, they admit the tech’s they use are horrible and periodically damage the vehicles they work on. You’ll get financially compensated what the manager feels is appropriate regardless of what quotes you bring to them. But hold on she just might change the deal she makes with you regarding compensation on a whim so to save any hassles just go to any one else who offers this service. Oh if you do use them you won’t even get all the parts quoted to you on your initial visit, they’ll save that for later, you know a nice little parting gift.

Poor customer service. Had a dispute with them charging me for fuel but I had already replaced the fuel I used. I called and talked to the manager. She said she would call back or email and didn't do either. More upset about the lack of a call then the money!

I will never use uhaul or even buy a thing from them again you mise well say they called me a lier they charged me 400 to install a hitch that I took to new new brunswick with trailer half way there the hitch became very loose my muffler was hanging down etc I called them and they didn't offer anything for the experience I went through never use ajax terminal

Had a great experience renting a 26 foot truck. Was all warmed up on a cold morning I arrived. Very friendly and helpful staff member I dealt with!

so you know how awesome this place is.

helped me get the right trailer hitch assembly to tow a 5x8 trailer behind a Chrysler 300.when Nick was helping with attaching the rented trailer, we discovered an issue.ground clearance.low car is low.hitch receiver even lower.
I was sold a 2"drop hitch, when what I needed was a 3~5" rise.oops.good old Nick, though!
he knows his stuff so well,

he was all like "Kim, this problem.what do? "

well I'll be a monkeys uncle if Kim didn't just build be a custom rise hitch, despite having no hitch mechanic at the time.and my niece is definitely a little monkey.so, what's even cooler about Kim is that she managed to build a hitch, bill it, AND refund the old one! Only cost about $12 to upgrade to the right thing.
I read her a number from an email reciept and she just looked it up.mind blown.expectations beyond exceeded here.clean, friendly, and exactly what I needed.thanks again Uhaul!

Good customer service. Awful communication from this location. A friend and I had the same issues when renting u-boxes and shipping them to a new location.

When ever it comes to moving, U haul comes in mind and I always prefer Station Street Ajax location. The the level of service of this location staff is very friendly, informative and always keen to help. The main thing is their trucks are quite new.
