Food is not that great. The staff’s behavior was disappointingly rude, tarnishing the overall dining experience. Their lack of courtesy negatively impacted the atmosphere, making it challenging to enjoy the meal. Improved customer service is crucial for the restaurant’s success and customer satisfaction. Jessica and her team disappointed us completely.

I ordered pooris with palya and it came with raitha and pickle. The Sambar, palya didn't taste south indian (udupi).
My guest ordered meals but I guess they were just put together cause nothing was ready.
One of the servers looked like very upset for some reason, sorry about that. I will still look forward to visiting your restaurant for breakfast when I'm in Mississauga.

Please DO NOT visit. We visited in July, ordered few items as take away, but when we reached home (far away-Ancaster), the parcel had 50 percent items missing, not packed ever. No system in place to take care of tgat. Neverthless, after much perduasion (pl note no empathy from restaurant) they agreed to compensate.
Today was much worse, much much worse. We ordered a simple plain dosa, after MULTIPLE times specifying that please make sure that it is GLUTEN FREE AND one who is going to eat it, is SEVERE gluten allergic. We were assured that it will b uten free by the person taking our order. But, with the blatant breach of trust, we were served definitely a gluten contaminated dosa, because of which someone near and dear in our family is suffering badly-multiple vomittings, severe acidity, extreme stomach discomfort and not to mention mental trauma.
I thought of ignoring the point that the person taking our order was EXTREMELY DISCOUTEOUS (IMAGINE IN THIS INDUSTRY), but with all things adding now, i must stress upon it.
I have decided to NEVER EVER visit the place, and implore upon others to do so, else they will never change.
I am planning to take legal action and request inouts from general public about the same.
PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE.

My dosa had a hair in it. The staff had no hair net. I was disappointed. Staff is sweet but they should take a little care about the hygiene

We have done live catering from Udupi 2x and were very happy with the service and the food. They come very early to set up and try their best to go above and beyond.

The Gadbad ice cream which I ordered was served to me in a broken glass, I realized this after having my ice cream yet I did mention this to the person who served the ice cream. And nothing was done about this.

This is my second visit and I must say this restaurant needs to change its plates and glasses as it is broken or damaged most of the time.

Good for South Indian cuisine. Remains very crowded always though they need to expand and need to offer fennel seeds at end of meal

Went for an evening snack on a Saturday. The food was average but none of the employees seemed welcoming. The waiters looked sad and depressed as if they have been working continuous shifts. None of them greeted or even smiled. They spoke so low that you couldn't even hear them talk. The first waitress bought a jug of water and a stack of glasses and kept it in a corner and left. She didn't even bother unstacking the glasses. All the utensils and glasses had pieces of white paper (presumably from the tissues they were using to wipe them). I stamped on some potato bhaji dropped under the table that no one seemed to have cleaned before the next customer gets the table. The food was average. I ordered a ghee roast paper masala dosa and a filter coffee. The dosa was crisp and enough potato stuffing. The Sambar tasted like flavorless red water. The coffee was very average. I asked the waitress for some extra tissues. She said okay and went and stood in a corner and never got us any.

Overall it was a terrible experience. Wouldn't recommend.

I spent 1.5 hour in travelling just to eat their dosa today and I checked online its showing that they are open but before I sat on their sofa they said that they are closed. Worst cafe I can't say about taste but for me it was not good as they didn't even let me sit. Won't recommend you this place.

Nice place. One of our groups fav. Used to be much better managed but lately, it takes years to get a order to table. Ordering Dosa is the worst

The best place for South Indian cuisine. Try the Chill Cheese Dosa. Madras coffee is a must at the end of the meal.

Your food hits the spot, every single time. The food experience is what we come back for - all the time. But now you have this lovely lady server, she is new and she has a gift for impressive customer service! Her joyful demeanor and her friendly connection with your customers brings a fresh feel and we hope that the rest of the staff can emulate! I hope that she is still there when we return, then I will add her name here.

South Indian meals was delicious! Must try if you are going to this place. You need a vaccine passport to enter this restaurant.

Heard a lot about this place and finally managed to dine in after 4 years of hearing about it.
Can’t say I was disappointed with all the hype and wait.
Food was good and the service was impeccable, attentive and helpful.
Came all the way from downtown Toronto in a rental car to eat here.
But was seconds go, maybe I won’t make that effort to come back.
Don’t get me wrong, food was good, but there was nothing spectacular.
A place for good authentic South Indian cuisine in Mississauga, close the Square One.

The breakfast brunch is a good deal for $13 but they close that by 11: 30 latest. Sometimes by 11 am.
Pongal wasn’t the best I’ve eaten, but the dosas were fantastic.
Tomato chutney was excellent.
Sambhar was pretty good too.

I love Udupi Madras Cafe's food overall. Their Idly bath is one of my forever favourites and I like most of their dishes. Sending this review to help one of my favourite restaurants re 2 suggestions. 1. Ordered a spring dosa recently but was very disappointed in the hugely chunky, hard to chew cabbage pieces, see picture of huge cabbage core. Spring dosa needs finely shredded vegetables.
2. The pav bhaji could use more "pav-bhaji masala" flavor (does not have to be spicy), and more of either potatoes or dried green pea mash. Wish you growing prosperity.

I will definitely not recommend people to visit this place. Food wasn't good with price and it's purely north Indian style but they named it as madras cafe which is not appropriate with the taste.

Their Kanchipuram Dosa is excellent. Nice family owned restaurant, been going there for a decade now

Had the Mysore Masala Dosa and it came with one-third the amount of masala than my partner's dosa. The portions overall are very small compared to the other Mississauga South Indian restaurants. The flavours were okay.

If i could give this place a -NEGATIVE star I would. Furthermore, I ordered the masala chaat the second time and ask for NO YOGURT bcuz I'm LACTOSE, When i got there to pick it up. They said I didn't say no yogurt on the phone and said they will make a new batch. They made me wait 10 minutes OUTSIDE IN THE WINTER COLD, and the guy comes out and tells me they will not make a new order LACTOSE FREE.

VERY DISSAPOINTED AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE FOR these REASONS ABOVE

This is my classic saturday/sunday brunch/lunch spot. Foods got a homemade vibe. Menu is huge and dishes are tasty. Spice could be improved upon, always asked for spiciest but its mild at best.

Authentic South Indian cuisine available here. Always crowded and all the covid 19 measures are followed.

Had dinner on a Sunday busy night. Had paper masala and rava masala dosas. They were as good as if you were eating dosas in India. However, gave only 4 stars as royal Falooda and chocolate shake were not par quality and they were over priced. I wish they improve their drinks’ section in addition to continuing offering tasty dosas.

Had the weekend breakfast this morning, it’s Value For Money. You get 2 idlies, 2 dosas, 2 vadas, 2 poories, upma and kesari everything tasted great.

Simple restaurant with not a great ambience. The music wasn't pleasing either. The food was decent. Have gone for South Indian Thali and the quantity is good enough. Prices are reasonable and easily locatable.

Authentic South Indian restaurant. Loved the taste. Prices are also very reasonable. Good service and polite staff. They serve a variety of dosas. Tried spring cheese dosa, maisur masala dosa, rava plain dosa and assorted plate of snacks which was awesome.

After 16 months of Covid lockdown - the level of anticipation was extremely high for a Dosa - and I was not disappointed - It was destroyed as quickly as possible!

Worst restaurant ever. These guys kept me waiting for 25 minutes and then finally once I was seated they said can’t cook the item as it will take 15 minutes to cook. They trick customer by forcing left over items as they know that other restaurants are closed.

I give this restaurant 0 rating for its service. It's a poorly managed restaurant. I had ordered takeout food on their website. I had received my confirmation email for the payment. However, I was declined food because nobody checked the order. I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I had a meal way back in 2019 and I don't remember the taste. So, I guess it's food is also not that memorable. Good luck!

Great place, delicious food, helpful staff. Dining is open so we had a dinner at restaurant. It’s in a small place but well organised. It’s going to full all tables very quickly at evening time. So better to go early and get a table for your comfort. Definitely will go again.

The quality of their Thaali has detoriated over time. The items were not the best and not met our expectations. It used to be my favorite but skip for sometime unless they improve

Loved the place. My sister and I visited the place last week and the food was tasty and delicious.in addition to that, the people working there were really patient and kind too.

Always loved their dosa but was restricted to only takeouts in Covid (which doesn't really work that well for Dosas). Their Mysore masala dosas are a treat and with the new patio rules, you can have all you want pretty easily

Food reminds Mumbai style sambar taste. Masala uttapam and mysore masala dhosa is must try items.

I didn't like the customer experience as they treat. I know there was small staff at the moment. But that doesnt mean you try to run away or ignore customer requests. Secondly, they provide extreme less quantity for the money not to mention, quality of the food also Compromised remarkably. Popular Ice Cream was good. But i would suggest to exclude Jelly from it. They overuse Jelly in Ice-cream which weakens the taste of Ice-Cream.

One of the best places for South Indian food. A lot of options in dosas and most of them are pretty good. Must try!

Lovely cheese masala dosa, sambar and chutney were too good. Didn't expected to get this good here. Packing was decent.

The food is excellent. Got to try the Gadbad ice cream it's next level dessert goodness. The dosa variety with all sorts of chats and foods from all parts of india should make it a go to place. The service leaves a lot to be desired though. The waiters were in a hurry to get us out and even forgot a dish we ordered and later when we said we will take it out. We had to pack it ourselves into containers.

Went here for a few occasions. Once to order a la Carter and another for their buffet. Both times were good tasting food.
Buffet food runs out quickly, and the staff try very hard to replenish the items, so it’s not bad if you have little patience to wait.
Quality of the food is good and not too oily. Worth a recommendation if you like authentic. South Indian food. My favs were bissebhala bhaat and their dosas.

Worst dosa I ever had, chutneys were not tasty, sambar is ok, dosa is burnt and is not authentic, rude service.

Never going back

Overall the food has been consistent and good but for one bad experience where in their payment gateway stopped working and they demanded cash. I had to leave my 2 yo waiting for 20 mins to go get cash. The management needs to get creative during crisis

I visited the place after hearing good from many people. This was my first visit and food taste was good. Good south indian dishes but stay away from thali. That did not impress me.

Very nice South Indian food, fast service, friendly staff and nice melodious music make it a great place to enjoy food with family and friends.

Food is ok but service is bad. Took sometime for someones to notice we were waiting to be seated even though half the place was empty.
Ordered coffee and literally the waiter threw coffee and sugar in the table. No respect for the customers. I suppose she is the owner and was shouting all the time with a grim face.

Loved the breakfast/brunch buffet. $25 for two people and delicious food. Dinner and special orders are nicely done as well.

I go here very often; really good Dosa and sides! Sometimes the service is a bit disorganized but can't really complain; since its cheap food! Great for that craving of south indian food! I'd highly recommend to anyone for Dosas; I'd say their madras coffee isn't up to par though. Also know that it can very busy at times and they don't take reservations for small groups.

A great example of how bad QC drops the value of a well established restaurant. I don't like to post a publicly viewed review with 1 star, but the last 2 times we ordered take out, one as a small order and another for a party - we ended up with rotting food within 3 hrs of pick up. Once can be considered as a rare issue, but twice within few weeks of each other means, we're done visiting this restaurant. Customer service when they get busy goes down as well.

Food.okay! Don't get your hopes up, if you are planning to visit this place in weekends. Management is really poor, customers are crowding up in the 2×2 hallway. If the weather is bad and you are arriving here in busy hours you might have to wait in open. Tables are empty and customers are still waiting in line to get one. It could have been better with a good management. Service is fast and servers are friendly too. Sometimes they will forget something from your order but if you will ask again will get it really fast! Three star for food and service but when it comes to someone's convenience that gets one star. Average 2 star. By the way there is a cheap looking section in this restaurant, just in case if you didn't like the fancy one.

The food is good. Like many reviews here have said, it tends to get crowded. I went for lunch on a Saturday, so that could explain.
However, if you ate going with a small kid, be prepared to be charged full plate buffet charge for then too. I was charged full charged for my 4-year-old.

Service was good and even when it was crowded yet we got the space with some waiting. Service was not slow and we were 7 people to share the table.

A place where you can have pure South Indian food without bothering about cost and stomach problem. Love this place

Simply authentic south Indian food. Truly enjoyed their food after trying many indian restaurants. Customer service may be even better (just suggestion). But we have been there just 15 min before closing time and they got our order soon and waited till we are finished (about 35 minutes). Highly recommend this place.

Good South Indian food. Their buffet is extremely good and comes with great variety. Reason for 4 star is because still there is scope of improvement in ambiance.
