Umiya sushi

First time trying this place. Heard many good things so I decided to give it a try. When it comes to sushi I am extremely picky and only go to certain places. I will say taste was pretty good. Only thing I didn't like was that the roll pieces were not proportionate. Some were bigger and some were smaller. And I'm talking about pieces from the same roll. You'll have one that's a normal bite size and one that is literally a 2 bitter. That's was really my only down fall. Other than that it was pretty good.

This is our favourite sushi place in London! We are so happy to have a place so close to home that we'll walk in the rain and snow just to have their food. The owner is such a sweet and kind lady, who will always greet you with a smile!

We usually order to go since it's a take out place but we dined in for the first time on Monday and it was as delicious as always. It only has two seats facing their window (so happy the window is back!) that faces Richmond St so it's a cute view and feels very intimate when you get to be the only ones sitting inside. We got complimentary miso soup and gyoza as well and we appreciated it so much!

The quality of the sushi is always fresh, and the portions are generous and proportionate - both with the rice vs filling ratio, and also with the fish vs other fillings ratio. Some sushi places will fill their rolls with more veggies than fish, but Umiya always makes sure it's more fish to veggies or equal parts. The roll feels balanced with the ingredients that are supposed to go in each roll as well!

Lastly, I love that they offer half rolls of the special rolls. It's such a great option when you don't want to have another full roll but you really want a special roll. I always get the Crispy Spicy Salmon Classic Roll + a half roll of Philly, and my partner will get the Crispy Spicy Tuna Classic Roll + a half roll of Red Dragon. Their spicy mayo is so good! And the ratio of cream cheese to salmon in the Philly is perfect. My partner's also tried their Fire Lips Special Roll and they would highly recommend it to people who like spicy!

We have nothing but amazing things to say about this place and hope it's here for a long time. Every now and then we'll go to a different sushi place because we like trying new places, and we always compare it to Umiya.

Great options for sushi and rolls everything are freshly made. The owner is very kind and accomodating. One of the best sushi place in London.

Just went here for lunch & the sushi is so fresh & delicious. I got the green dragon for reference. I also got a complimentary miso soup which was really nice. Their veggie gyoza wasn’t my favourite but it was still good. The owners/employees are so kind & welcoming! Great service. I’ll be back:)

Really lovely spot. I got the torched salmon bowl, which came with miso soup. Everything was fresh and hot and tasty. The service was very friendly and attentive. After ordering they told me it would take seven minutes to make the food and I think it was even faster!

Tried their crispy spicy salmon rolls today for the first time. They were so fresh and delicious! Great portion and price for lunch. Will be back

My partner and I ordered from this extremely lovely family owned restaurant for Valentine’s Day. I called to place our order for takeout around 7pm and they made everything with such care and love. We ordered the vegetable gyoza, roll combo 6 with miso soup, extra yam roll, and spicy salmon roll. We both couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the sushi and everything else was. The quality and detail was outstanding! I can easily say this is our new favourite (and only place we will be ordering) sushi in London. Highly recommend! Thank you so much for making our Valentine’s Day special ️ feeling so grateful for this wonderful experience.

The sushi here is very fresh. The rice is the perfect temperature when they served it to us. The staff is really friendly. They gave us a complementary miso soup for me and my girlfriend, which was really nice and very yummy. I would recommend the spicy tuna as it had a lot of flavour and you could tell everything was fresh. I will definitely be coming back 10 out of 10.

This is my second time taking out from Umiya sushi and honestly I think it's one of the best price-to-quality sushi place in Downtown! Their menus are mostly quite affordable for a Japanese fusion food and so far, all of them I've tried were very yum. The staffs are super friendly as well. I got the salmon poké bowl last time and was honestly shocked at the portion compared to the low price.
So glad I discovered here and would defo be revisiting them more

After a friend recommended Umiya Sushi to me, I decided to stop in today for lunch. Very glad I did. I ordered a Roll Combo 1 which has 12 pics (California Roll and Crispy Spicy Salmon, plus includes a Miso soup.for $10!
The sushi and soup was fresh and tasted great. Also, the sushi pieces are larger than many other places.
Kim, the hostess was very friendly and accommodating and always had a smile.
It's a small place with only 4 bar type places to sit, but don't let that stop you. Check this place out!

Just ordered here from UberEats because of their BOGO. Can quite confidently say this is one of the best spots in London not just for Sushi but for food in general. Extremely generous portions and also very tasty and fresh. Hope they keep up this quality!

Had lunch here today- food was great and prices are reasonable. I had the Beef gyoza and Dynamite rolls (highly recommend) Staff is very inviting- will def eat here again.

So much love for this place! The salmon poke bowl was sooooo good. Big chunks of salmon, and very reasonable price! Their torched salmon sushi is one of the best! 10/10 customer service. Will definitely recommend and go back for more.
