I recently went to the Universal Barber Shop, and I have to say that the entire experience was excellent.

I had my hair done by Pouya. Pouya's attention to detail and professionalism were evident right away. He made sure he understood everything I wanted by taking the time to listen to my preferences and concerns. The experience was enhanced by his friendly disposition and aptitude for conversation. His genuine concern for his clients' satisfaction is evident.

Have loved my fades from here, Pouya is an amazing barber and really cool guy. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

First time getting a haircut here. The place is clean and tidy. Pouya is very friendly and welcoming. He went above and beyond to ensure my experience was great. It has been a while since I got a haircut and I left the salon feeling human again lol.

I won’t recommend them at all for women haircut don’t know about men though. I didn’t feel that the lady who cut my hair was professionally trained for women haircut. It looked okay initially but trust me it looks pathetic after first wash. And also they charged like 65$ for a basic haircut. I wasn’t expecting that much. I wish I should’ve gone to a professional if I was spending that much amount. Won’t recommend at all. My hair are cut unequally.

Very friendly barber. Definitely looks like a family run place. Very well maintained and very clean. They offer services for women as well. They do eyebrows and more.

I came to this salon hearing great reviews on Google. I had photoshoots the week after and this was the first time I decided to do a buzz cut/crew cut because I always flaunted pompadour style and was scared to try something new. I put all my hope in Pouya and told him how I wanted to look. Although skeptical at first, I must say I liked my new look and so did all my friends and family! Thank you for making me shine!

This a a great place to go to get anything beauty restated done! It's such a nice atmosphere super clean and sanitary, with very friendly and professional employees. They make sure you are satisfied with the service and always do a great job! My favourite place to go for sure.

The staff is really unprofessional. I was there for a haircut last week. Booked an appointment well in advance. When I reached the store, Anna, who I had booked my appointment with was busy and didn't even have the courtesy to inform me ro reschedule the appointment.
Waited there for 30 mins and was rushed by the second person for the haircut where even after repeated instructions, the guy (Masih) did a terrible job with the hairstyle.

Need better customer service.

I went to the salon as a walk in on Saturday by calling in few minutes before. I was confused about the length and hairstyle between few. Anna not only helped me to choose the right one but also recommended a few things which will add more value to my look depending on my face. It turned out really great. I also did my color right after and she helped me choose the color as well. I am very happy with the service Anna provided to me with great care. I will be returning here for the next hair cut

She was so thorough, very careful to ensure I got exactly what I wanted.

Legit the best barber I had in Waterloo- Masih is highly skilled, professional, and very friendly. Had a great experience, and I am writing this review after a while that I had my haircut and I am even happy with how it's growing which is a proof of Masih's skills.

My second time here and it's been excellent both times. He was able to get me in without an appointment as well. Brilliant!

This is my first time giving a 1 star without using service. I scheduled an appointment at 4pm today. I showed up on time and 3 other people walked in stating they had an appointment. I was told that the customers were in a hurry. It was a disappointment. I was then asked if I could wait for the three customers before being seen. The worker said they would call in another staff so that I would be seen. At that point I was not sure if I would be seen anytime soon. At that point I realize my time did not matter so I left.
In the future have enough staff if you plan to have more than one customer serve at the same time. I wanted to try this place especially because of the positive reviews.

So happy to have gotten waxed by Marjaan again! She is truly the best. She always makes sure I am comfortable throughout my whole appointment and is so genuinely kind and caring! I have really missed her throughout the pandemic and am so happy to be back!

Great service by Mashi. He was cheerful, great customer service and helped with the haircut the customer wanted with a happy face.

A welcoming lady named Marjan greatly picked up my eyebrows. Also, I honestly enjoyed my haircut. Reasonable price and respectful and friendly staff.

Overall, good experience. The hair stylist is professional who made the haircut exactly the way I wanted. The price is reasonable. There was a little waiting while I checked-in which is okay.

Had the worst haircut here, maybe they just don’t know how to cut Asian hair. If your Asian I’d suggest go somewhere else

Attempted to get my haircut here on a Saturday morning and after waiting 10 minutes after the "opening time" someone finally showed up just to tell me that there were no barbers working that day.

Always a good experience. The staff welcomes you with a smile every time, and they take the time to cater to their customers getting a fantastic job done at reasonable prices. Never left the store anything less than satisfied!:)

Have been a client for a while now for waxing. I love that I don't always need an appointment.when I just walk in I am accomodated every time. I recently realized they do microblading and so happened I needed a touch up. (been about 6 years since my last). Went in got it done with awesome results. Just had my 6 week touch up today and my brows are gorgeous. Not gonna lie though, it hurts even with numbing but the results are worth it. I would recommend this salon for sure.

This is honestly the best barber shop I've ever been to since my old barber died 7 years ago. Very friendly and engaging, attention to detail is amazing, and the prices are fair considering the service given.

Masih at Universal Barber and Beauty is great. He is an excellent barber who knows what he is doing and takes a lot of care when cutting my hair. I have been going to his salon to get my hair cut for last 6 months and he never disappoints. He is a good listener and follows my preference/suggestions every time. He also takes his time and provides great feedback. He got my side burns realigned. Masih is very knowledgeable about his trade and has provided me with many useful tips regarding hair color and application. He also gives a nice shave at the back of neck etc.as bonus. The staff there is also very friendly and welcoming. The price is also very reasonable. It is always a pleasurable experience visiting his family salon and I always leave with a smile on my face.

I brought my two friends with straight hair one got straight cut and the other got a trim up to do spikey hair both got what they wanted

Its hard for me being a jamacian to find a good barber that can work with my hair.

Customer services was great they had complementary drinks and newest music playing the layout is clean and modern with nice leather couches and big area not crowded.

Great experience. I don't let just anyone trim my beard and give me a hair cut. They were great. He knew exactly what I wanted and did that.

I've been going to this salon since 2012 to get my eyebrows threaded! They just recently changed their name and re-branded! I will not go anywhere else in Waterloo to get my eyebrows threaded! A new girl recently started and she is amazing! She takes her time and does an amazing job! Highly recommend!
