Upper Beaches Bourbon House

Got takeout Shrimp & Grits and oh my it’s tasty. Charred spicy shrimp with sausage and perfect textured grits. We’re very lucky to have this restaurant in Toronto.

Arrived hot and fresh. Cornbread a wee bit burnt pickin corn from me teeth still. The wooden utensils made it seem like eating popsicles. Dem taters was yuuuum and garlic goodness in each bite. Yoooo eat dem grits hot as hell and fresh sooo freakin good. Jambalaya was AWEEEESOME missing the yummy parts (animal carcass and veg) but that roux maaaane!

It's an old classic cozy place with some diffrent type of delicious food. It's homemaid burger was amazing and I recommend it. Inside of the resturant needs some renovation, but it is not affected their good services and the quality of their foods.

Wow! Blackened Livers were spot on and the Lemon Beurre was just the right touch. Gumbo was amazing with great deep flavour. All the seafood was perfectly cooked. All the food was served hot and fresh. The Corn Bread was delicious. The Bread Pudding was out of this world. The banana combined with the Bourbon Sauce made it amazing.

5 stars all around. The food was incredible and service was great. Everything is very obviously homemade. I had the salmon and my husband had the jambalaya and both were so delicious! Definitely recommend.

Food here has gone downhill in recent months.

Ordered the Mac and cheese and asked for no bell peppers and was told it was premade and frozen so they could not make any changes to it.

Hubby ordered the poutine. It was delivered without gravy. When we inquired about it we were told gravy was on the side, except they forgot to pack it.

Meat in the po boy sandwich was cold.

These all might be a delivery issue, but still really disappointing.

Amazing food and service, my final meal while on vacation with my family visiting Toronto. Parking is tight but you'll understand why. NOLA food in the great north what a find!

This place is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and the staff is extremely friendly. Judy makes my day each and every time I visit. I had the blackened chicken dinner one time and now I’m hooked. It’s so flavorful and delicious. If you love soul food this place is a must.

My mother and I had been looking for a new regular Cajun/Creole restaurant for Mardi Gras since Southern Accent had closed. Tonight, we finally found it. While we were a little skeptical based on the location (we almost couldn't find the place) but we were blown away by the food. The presentation alone was enough to write home about.
The Jambalaya was delicious. I got a tapas size and still received a balanced amount of the promised ingredients despite being a smaller portion.
The gumbo, catfish and hushpuppies were cooked to perfection. Even the collard greens and grits had a taste to them I had never experienced. I couldn't finish my shrimp po'boy from being too full but even an hour later, the fresh ingredients and flavor was still a home run.
We even took some bread pudding home with us. The bannanas foster sauce would make the Brennans proud.
With fresh, homemade dishes like this, you definitely get a fantastic value at great prices.
Service was polite and very attentive. Though the atmosphere may lack much in anything distinctly New Orleans, the food and friendly staff make this hidden gem a party of its own.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a taste of New Orleans in the GTA. Food this good just has to be shared.

Worst Experience ever. Was very embarrassed with my guests not liking such horrible bad food. Will never go again. Watery jambalaya, undercooked chicken and small portions. Not worth your $$$

The food here is really good I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for Cajun style food. We had the Jambalaya, gumbo but the shrimp n grits stole the show!

Man. Disappointing given all the great reviews and scarcity of Cajun food in this city.

Jambalaya was literally tomato paste and rice. The spicy shrimp tasted like Frank's Red Hot was just dumped on the shrimp. Could have done that myself. The Pasta had an overwhelming flavor of tarragon. The only redeeming item was the 6 dollar bag of hush puppies. Great value and delicious. Nice herbs and fried to perfection.

Overall, it was edible but disappointing given all the rave reviews. Maybe it's time to give up on Louisiana food in this city.

I had the poboy jerk chicken and it was delicious! Quick service, fair portion for the value and I enjoyed the draught beer as well. Will definitely go back!

The bourbon sour, fried calamari, seafood linguini, cracker catfish, and bread pudding were great. Excellent price, portions, and service.

We’ve ordered here more than a handful of times. Every time the food food is absolutely delicious. The Gumbo is something out of this world. If I could rate this place a 6/5 I would. Amazing food.

I've lived in the area for about 5 years and always seen this place next to the Pizza Nova.wanted to try it but was skeptical.came here for a family birthday. I had the blackened catfish (not my fav) but I did try the seafood jambalaya linguini and really enjoyed that. The cornbread was okay.

TL;DR: Fast service, friendly staff, and delicious food at a great price! Would highly recommend, especially after a long day at the Bluffs.

My friend and I came here after we tried to hike up to the Bluffs (which we didn’t) and driving around to find a good place to eat. Even though it was just after lunch, around 3pm, the place wasn’t too busy so we were able to get a seat right away.

The staff was very friendly and the service was amazing, even when it did get busier with online orders and other customers. There was no wait time to be seated and we waited no more than 10 minutes for our food.

I got the calamari and my friend got one of the pastas and both were so good! They both had Cajun, which added a little kick and flavouring to the food. From what I tasted, you wouldn’t go wrong with anything from the menu. To end off the meal, we had the bread pudding and that was a great call. We definitely got our moneys worth!

I would definitely recommend paying Upper Beaches Bourbon House a visit if you’re in the area! It’s a great small business that has great service and delicious food.

The friendly and sincerely cheerful staff, plus the great dishes make you disregard the otherwise underwhelming interior.

Very small restaurant. Judith was a pleasure to deal with, very funny and welcoming. The food was amazing. The taste just grabs you. Calamari was a cut above anywhere else we've tried. The Blackened chicken definitely a hit as this was the first time I've tried this along with the mash potatoes, vegetables and dip.

Absolutely amazing.ordered the cheese burger with fries and the fries and burger itself were extremely tasty. So impressed by the food quality. Man on the phone was so accommedating for my specific order and didn't mess up anything. Will have to visit the store and not just use skip the dishes to order some day.great presentation, great quanity and even better quality. Prices are really good as well.well doone upper beaches

I cannot wait to sit and eat in person someday. The calamari as mentioned by others tastes great. The Blacked Chicken also tastes great too. The Jerk Wings are authentically done.

Absolutely terrible service from this place. Ordered through DoorDash. 35 minutes later A hamburger was ready. My Dasher’s comment was many many Dashers waiting and very slow service. Unacceptable. Will not order again.

The best restaurant in Scarborough. I consistently order from here. Very authentic food, delicious, well made and excellent customer service. Love this place!

This is hands down the best Cajun Creole food I’ve ever had and some of the most delicious food we’ve enjoyed in recent memory. We were delighted to discover how many vegetarian/vegan options they offered and they accommodated allergies as well.
We had the Tofu Po’ Boy sandwich, Cajun Tofu, corn bread, and the hush puppies and honestly, everything was perfect. Even the hot sauce was fantastic.
Highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to eat here again!

I grab a meal from here at least once a week and the consistency has never been a miss. Priced well for the quality and portion size. Staff are very friendly and always welcoming. Highly recommend the blackened salmon (with mash instead of rice), blackened chicken, calamari and voodoo seafood pasta with shrimp only.

I was craving a Mac Pie and had seen this restaurant on my drive home. Their Mac and Cheese w/ sweet potatoes is scrumptious. I also devoured their Chicken Calypso Linguine. Full of flavour! I’m not a huge fan of Bread Pudding, however, I am now converted.

I highly recommend if you’re craving flavourful comfort food.

Got takeout here last weekend and sad to say I’m disappointed given all the great reviews. The Crispy Coated Catfish Po’ Boy had only three small pieces of meat which we could barely taste given how little of it there was. The bun did not appear to have been toasted like the menu states. Save yourself the trouble and eat somewhere else.

This restaurant deserves 10 stars! One of the best blackened chicken and mashed potato so far. So very wonderfully cooked. My husband ordered blackened salmon with rice and vegetables and was in love. Definitely will be going regularly to this place!

What a change, i would like to blame Covid. Everything was soooo bad couldn't even have second bite, from chicken livers to gumbo, to beef brisket and sides.

The blackened chicken with garlic mashed and veggies as well as the beef brisket are both delicious. Also the lady who runs the front is an absolute delight! Her customer service is phenomenal and for that reason I will be returning.

We’ve been regularly ordering from here for nearly two years and always had a delicious experience. The food is really good and they have a solid menu. They also have tofu on the menu that tastes incredible, which is not easy to achieve for a lot of places. Thanks for having vegetarian and (maybe) vegan options.

We stopped on on our way to the marina. WOW! The food is delicious, the servings sizes abundant and the chef a pleasure.

Do not overlook this little spot or you will be missing a gem.

The calamari is impossibly fresh and perfectly cooked. Add a tapas jambalaya. We each had a po-boy, a shrimp and a jersey chicken. Both excellent. The ginger mayo should be bottled and sold everywhere.

One word. YUM!
Seriously, we went here because my boyfriend had a craving for gumbo that they more than satisfied. We asked for recommendations and the lovely lady there suggested, cornbread and Blackened chicken. It did not disappoint! The chicken with their rubbed spices and lemon butter was so flavourful. The cornbread was warm and soft. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had.

Oh and their in-house made hot sauce has so many delicious layers of flavour! If you like a little sweet heat, make sure to add some to everything. I even dipped my cornbread in it. Sooooo good.

We will definitely be back. Next on the list to try there will be the Jambalaya!

It’s so hard to describe how fantastic the food was here. We ordered the jerk chicken po’boy and creole mac and cheese and both were amazing. No wonder this place has so many glowing reviews!

The food here is amazing! The woman who works there (I believe the owner) is always a pleasure to interact with.

Had such an amazing experience. Food was AMAZING. The people working there were so sweet and kind. Will definitely be back to try the whole menu.

OK so I only ever write reviews for two reasons. One, it was the worst experience of my life or two, the best. THIS FOOD WAS MAGICAL, my taste buds were in pure bliss. Please don't get me started on that corn bread *chefs kiss*. I am very well traveled and let me tell you nothing compares to this place. Even the food I've had from this actual region in the states. I've tried about 6 dishes on the menu and I plan to go through every last one. Bless the owner and chef of this place. You cannot go wrong eating here trust me. I'd eat here everyday if I could so lemme tell ya 5 stars just ain't enough. Yall deserve all the stars

Context I’m an older diabetic and the food is wonderfully seasoned with sauces I can’t touch. I’ve cheated a bit here, and tried several menu items over several visit and found each experience to not quite meet expectations of menu descriptions. Perhaps if I ate more of the wonderful sauces that I scrapped away….

We had the bayou.cheese burger, shrimp & grits and blackened chicken. They were all very good. I'm picky with burgers and best burger I had so far. Must try the shrimp and grits - its delicious

The service was great. They brought our food out to our car as we waited outside. The food was flavourful.

If you're charging $40 after tax for two chicken breast meals it needs to be worth that price in both portion and quality and it just isn't. Used to be way cheaper to eat here.

There's better options for the price.

The best! The staff are amazing and the food is top notch! As was the Calamari i just inhaled in 5 minutes as its amazing!

I wanted to try something new today. I have never had grits before but often heard how tasty it was. Among other dishes, I ordered the shrimp and grits and was blown away with how great it tasted. I also ordered a number.of other items on the menu and by far this is my favourite restaurant in Toronto. The food was delicious, fresh, perfectly seasoned, the portions were generous and the packaging was secure and well ordered in the bags. This restaurant gave me my first amazing experience with grits.

I actually went to Pizza nova next door and ordered a medium pizza, I was told to come back in 20 minutes. After 20 minutes I went back in to pick up my pizza and was told it was not ready give it some more time, I did. After 15 minutes I went back in again, still not ready. Over one hour later still no pizza I asked what is really going on and was told they did not make the pizza when I first came in and ordered, I was shocked, 10 minutes later they gave me my pizza when I opened the box it was the wrong pizza now they want to gave me another pizza and two drinks but the other pizza is also the wrong pizza. By this time I am hungry and upset, I took the pizzas to leave other people there are asking me if I got them free I said no I paid first when I came in which apparently angered other buyers. Others there were saying to me I should not of had to pay at all since the establishment screwed up my ordered twice. Anyway I left and then got a scolding from my daughter since the pizza was for her who proceeded to tell me I should of gotten them free for what I was put through. I don't know the invisible or underlying rules also I am a nice person and am one who don't like making a scene time have passed and now that I think about it i should of stood up for myself and demanded the food should of been free. Funny thing is I never ordered from this pizza place before only because my daughter was visiting and I had picked her up from the Go Station st Midland and St Clair which is around the corner and she said she is hungry let's grab a pizza. Horrible experience and I simply can't give them any star rating

Place used to be good but last time I got the cheeseburger the beef was undercooked just fell apart before I could even pick it up fries were soggy shame because my fist 2 3 orders I had no complaints after that the quality went down I've made about 6 7 orders in total just kept getting worse cheeseburger was the last one won't be ordering from them anymore

Every item that I’ve tried on their menu has far exceeded expectations. The blackened chicken entree served with lemon beurre is fresh, flavourful, and filling. If you’re craving something sweet, I highly recommended the sweet potato brownie!

We asked Little Bourbon House to help us with catering for our son's baptism. The team helped us through the ordering process and gave us some pointers. All in all it was a really great experience. Everyone (about 40 of us) absolutely loved the food. People were fighting for the leftovers. Literally.

Super friendly and helpful wait staff. Greeted warmly upon entering. GF ordered the cornbread appetizer. As you can see from the photo it was mostly consumed before I had a chance to take a photo. Anyway it originally had 3 pieces; really good example of cornbread. GF ordered Jambalaya ($12.50) and I went with the beef brisket (16.95). I have to say the brisket was among the best if not the best ever experienced. GF's Jambalaya tasted really nice; however, the greens where a little on the salty side so would request less salt next time. Finished with the bread pudding, highly recommend. Overall amongst the top Toronto restaurant experiences. Will most definitely return and soon.

Awesome lil piece of the south. They have some awesome food there! They have that calamari I was looking for! This place is on of my favorites! I highly recommend this place!
