We use them every year for our boat and seadoos! I don’t understand why they close at 1pm on Saturdays during the fall but otherwise great!

STAY AWAY! Misleading sales practices and predatory pricing. Completely took advantage of a trusting senior lady and sold her a previously owned motor that was not appropriate for her needs at a price over full list. Failed even to ask what kind/size boat this motor would go on. Now we have spent an additional $500 to convert this unit to a short shaft to make it work. Is there a ZERO rating?

I have just started dealing with UCM and am looking forward to having them quote, repair all interior damage caused by (Muskrat Love) rewire and clean.

We have had Upper Canada winterize, wrap and store our boat for the last few years and the service has been quick and friendly! We pickup and drop off and they have always had our boat ready when they said it would be! They have also always been able to have it ready quickly in the spring! Highly recommend!

Update: issue has been resolved. Thank you

Be careful when buying items. There is only a 5 day return policy.
Purchased locks and was told they would fit (boat was attached to vehicle) Went to install and they were the wrong size.
Called on the 6th day and was told they wouldn't take them back.

How I wish I had read these reviews first and had been smart enough to realize that many of the 5 star reviews were from new boat purchasers and the 1 star reviews were from customers who wanted good service.
I brought in my older Mercury outboard for a tune-up and was told it was in "great condition" and would be worked on for a cost of $1400.
Much later they phoned and said the boat was ready and the bill was $2400. After I expressed my displeasure they did some numerical hocus pocus and the bill was now $2000.
I bit the bullet and paid up. As I was leaving Judy told us the mechanic said it "runs like a clock! "
A few days later I put the boat in the water and it started well and would idle fine but would cough and sputter and jerk at anything faster. I was sure to use fresh premium gas. I pulled it out of the water and went directly back to UCM. A few days later Randy (service manager and part owner) called to tell me there was water in the tank and that it needed more parts and work for an additional $600.
Well, I thought fool me once.shame on you. Fool me twice.shame on me!
I went back to UCM within 20 minutes of that call and got my boat out of there.
I have owned and operated more than one business and know when a service managers explanations does not pass "the smell test". Telling me that my fresh gas had water in it to shift the blame to me just doesn't cut it.
Apparently they are excellent "new" boat sales people, but when it comes to service.read the 1 star reviews carefully. There is a good and valid reason I took the time to write and submit this review. Very disappointed and angry.

Terrible terrible service. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Very unprofessional, they never take responsibility for their work. It's always the costumers fault. I been taking my boat here for a few years and every time I have to bring it back because something is not working, their answer is always "is an old boat" I find that answer to be an excuse for them not doing the job properly. Good mechanics can fix old and new boats.

Take your boat somewhere else.

In response to your answer to my complaint:

1 You NEVER offered a solution, please don't lie.
2 I did not come in to your business yelling and screaming, I yelled and screemed after I told Doug that my kids ages 3 and 5 were stuck in the lake for 2 hours last year because the boat was not fixed properly and his answer was "that's why you have whistle and paddles for" so yah I yelled as my kids safety is my priority and his answer was unnecessary. You might also like to add to your answer that I send a letter apologizing for my behavior.
3 No, I'm not satisfied with your work. You should read my letter to your company before you answer
4 I will not allow you to defame my character in order to make your business look good.

Doug was amazing, he was patient and explained all the differences of boats and motors. Boat was delivered as described and on time. Thank you so much for everything!

I personally like to thank the sales staff at Upper Canada Marine
My dealings with the new sale manger
Doug Faragher and Randy in service was nothing less than outstanding.
I would encourage anyone looking for a new or used Lund boat, to take the time to visit the showroom and ask for Doug
Cheers

Just purchased a new Lund 1775 Adventure and the service was stellar. Angie and Doug (new salesman) were knowledgeable and gave their genuine opinions, but at the same time listened to me. There were no high pressure sales tactics used when I said no to options. In the end I got a deal I’m comfortable with and I would do business with them again.

We have been clients of UCM for just shy of a year and, as first time boat owners, we have had a few issues.like the propeller hitting rock bottom in a tricky and shallow approach to our dock. UCM was able to pick up the boat, repair the motor case and replace the destroyed propeller quickly and for what I felt was a very reasonable cost. Other services we are utilising are over winter storage and custom snap on cockpit and now cover fabrication. Highly recommended.

Decided to go against locals telling me to stay away from this place, but dropped the boat off for winterizing, investigating a small issue with the boat starting but not connecting after spending $$$ at another shop farther away over the last 2 years, and then shrink wrapping   Also told them that we had a full winterization done the last 2 years without an oil change last year as the boat had only been in the water once 2 years ago and once this year. They were very quick at getting the job done (2 days). They called to explain what they had found and couldn't properly diagnose, but kept harping on the fact that they felt the oil was " really dark".   They also suggested changing all the items we had changed with the other shop, which I am not going to go through again, $$$.   Arrived to pick it up and pay for services rendered and was content with charges. Boat was stored outside at their business and there was snow on it, of course. Person I had dealt with was instructed to neatly fold expensive boat cover inside boat before wrapping it, but never told me where the keys and drain plug were located on the boat as they were told not to put them inside under the wrapping. Went to hook up to truck and realized I was not told location of these 2 items. Had I not gone back into business to ask, the keys that were in a plastic bag tied to front of boat, would have gone unnoticed and disappeared. I still don't know where the drain plug is. After leaving, the snow and ice were blown off boat wrap, and when I got home I noticed that there was a small 2x2 inch hole at the top of the wrapping only to find out the vent hole that was missing a vent, got torn off the boat. The second vent that was installed was almost gone off boat wrap also. Had to tape up one hole completely and fix second one that was almost falling off. The wrap that they use is pathetic, not tight at all and very thin. Obviously the tape is not strong enough to handle a short drive to Marmora either, as it blew off. Wonder what would have happened when we had those huge winds 2 weeks ago and I had it at home.   Could have done a better job with stretch wrap. The outdrive wasn't even covered, so now I have to cover that myself so water/snow doesn't get into outdrive and crack it. I won't know it there is anything wrong, missing or broken with the boat or engine until springtime when boat will get unwrapped. Many reviews have stated that customers have found things not right with their property after picking it up from this business. Only time will tell.   Should have listened to the locals comments while I was working the election, and the reviews  and  stayed away.

I completely trust these guys to take care of our boat. It is always a positive experience when dealing with them.

I had a plugged tell tale. I wasn’t sure what was wrong, asked them to do an impeller service. They never cleaned out the tell tale, told me that They had found a pinched line from the lower end to the motor, which could restrict the flow. Quoted me 10 hours to do the job. I bought the parts, replaced it myself in 2 hours. Pretty easy job. I cleaned out the tell tale, the only issue I brought it in for. They claimed they cleaned it out, but obviously didn’t. The motor runs the same as it did before changing out the pinched tube.
