After decades of dental anxiety, Dr. Doumit and the team of professionals at Urban Dental Centre are the reason that I no longer dread dental appointments. Dr. Doumit is an exceptional medical professional, who has spent years of time and energy becoming an expert in her field of practice, and it shows.

I became a patient at the Urban Dental Centre because Dr. Doumit offers the pinhole surgical technique for treating gum recession. To say that the pinhole surgical technique procedure requires skill and an advanced degree of training is an understatement. The ability to access this procedure with the medical professional and team that I am comfortable with was extremely beneficial. As someone that specifically sought out the pinhole surgical technique after researching it extensively, I can confidently say that you cannot find a more careful or competent provider in Ottawa and even if you could find another medical professional to perform this procedure, Dr. Doumit and the Urban Dental Centre team also prioritize how patients feel. As a result, while the procedure is complex and has the potential to be uncomfortable, I experience was that I was mildly uncomfortable and a bit inconvenienced. When compared to the pain and recovery period for gum graft surgery, the pinhole surgical technique was a day with some discomfort, but I was provided with a comprehensive list of techniques to manage the discomfort, which worked very well. While I am still in the recovery period, I am already experiencing benefits, including huge improvements in the sensitivity that I have been living with for years. Without hesitation, I have referred Dr. Doumit and the Urban Dental Centre to any family member, friend or colleague that has their teeth or commented about dental procedures to me.

While Dr. Doumit’s proving the pinhole surgical technique was the reason that I registered as a patient with the Urban Dental Centre, the quality of service and care provided is the reason that my family is now registered with the Urban Dental Centre. I value the individualized and high-quality care that I receive. I appreciate that I am provided with clear explanations about treatments and given the opportunity to make informed decisions. I value the knowledge that Dr. Doumit and the staff at the Urban Dental Centre have about the insurance processes and that I will never be surprised by unexpected expenses or upselling.

Finally, dental anxiety made routine dental care and appointments something that I dreaded for years. While I cannot claim that I no longer find dental appointments stressful, I know and have experienced that Dr. Doumit monitors her patients for any indicators of pain or discomfort and she responds immediately, taking time to let numbing agents take effect or for her patient to be okay with proceeding. Dr. Doumit is the example that I give when talking about what I look for when assessing a medical professional’s capacity for ensuring patient wellbeing. I feel incredibly fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Doumit and to have access to the highest quality of care provided by the Urban Dental Centre. My teeth and gums definitely agree! -EF

I cannot rave enough about the level of quality and care I have experienced from the whole team at Urban Dental Centre.

I was looking to have my veneers redone, so following a friend's referral I booked my consultation, and I am so grateful I chose this facility. From the very beginning Dr. Katia Doumit was extremely attentive and informative. From measuring out my current veneers in comparison to the proportions of my face, to thoroughly explaining her planned course of action, she was kind and patient with all my questions.

After the first appointment I emailed reception with a question I forgot to ask and within the hour Dr. Katia called me personally.

It was recommended to complete a few weeks of Invisiline before going through with the new veneers, which I was relieved to hear when it was suggested, as she was the fist dentist I have seen who didn't try to give me a quick fix for my overbite. Her receptionists worked every appointment around my busy schedule. I was met with smiles when I arrived for every appointment and I was saw to promptly, not once left waiting.

The technology of her lab is outstanding. During my latest appointment she had a 3-D mock up created of what my new veneers would look like before we proceeded, to ensure I was happy with the result. She waited until I gave my request on proceeding with a few more weeks of Invisiline, which she also agreed with. In that moment she preferred me give my thoughts without them being conflicted by her opinions so I never felt pushed towards anything. That level of respect for clients is rare in cosmetic dentistry.

I highly recommend Dr. Katia and her team if you are looking for the best, as they are nothing less.

I switched to Dr. Doumit's office about 5 years ago after multiple bad experiences at my previous dentist. Dr. Doumit really treats every patient like family. She is very thorough with her work and is always so kind and patient. Her staff at her office are fantastic as well. I used to dread going to the dentist before, but she makes every visit so easy and stress free.

Went to Dr. Doumit for my wisdom tooth removal. Even though it was a complicated removal and I was very nervous her and her whole team did a great job making the process easy on me. Gorgeous office, all the staff is friendly, and the dental care is top notch.
