They are friendly and efficient! Not much more you could ask from a nail place, and they are walking distance to Broadview Subway Station.

Dirty, tissues and fake nail lying on floor, not safe to walk bare foot! An incomplete polish on my nails, less than 20 minutes to complete pedicure, sent to an equally dirty back room to stare at blank wall to dry nail polish while staff ate, 6 slept in massage chairs throughout our visit. Within an hour I looked at the polish and it was cracked, and a nail had but one layer of colour so I returned to have polish removed.
Will NOT ever return!

The personal email I received from the front man was unbelievable! I have never been told “To go elsewhere like the Sheraton” it was an incredible attack! That his staff work long hours this is why they slept…perhaps the manager should stagger his staff and not overwork them.
I have had the email forwarded to the owner.
He should be ashamed of this correspondence from his staff.

Julia did my manicure today, this was my first time here and she did an amazing job. I had a bunch of different colors and she was very patient throughout the process and kept me entertained. I'd love to come back!

Sarah did my nails and she was lovely! Super speedy and clean, exactly what I wanted. Im very picky about my nail shape as getting acrylics, they always look bulky on my nails but she was very good at making them look perfect. Salon was super busy and they had me originally sit at the pedicure station because there weren’t enough seats but I didn’t mind! They turned on the massage chair for me and the salon did a wonderful job at managing the busy-ness of the long weekend. Despite how many people were there, they make sure you are taken care of and happy with your service. Definitely will be coming back!

Nice staff, decent shellac pedicure but my shellac mani started chipping after 3 days, I usually get 2 weeks of wear from other salons.

I got the manicure and I loved the whole experience! My aesthetician was very sweet and careful. Will be coming back & highly recommend!

The service is amazing, and they do a great job on my nails. I get manicures and pedicures here all the time, and I've never had a bad experience. They're always friendly and professional, and they do such an amazing job at what they do!

This salon is the best on The Danforth. Quality products, clean, efficient and talented estheticians.

Used to go here and loved it. Thought I would try again. Everytime I went my nails would break right away, the shapes of my nails would not match etc. The last time I went in, I had to go back 3 times within a week to get nails fixed. They could not match the nail colour (which was their colour) and I end up with 3 different shades. The picture is when I was ready for a fill but just wanted to show the colour matching they did with their own polishes. I never returned.

I’ve been coming here for years! Always clean and quick for the service, even though they are quick the designs are amazing! Usually a girls day with my mom! Annie and Hannah are the best. Hannah has been doing my nails for almost 5 years now and she never fails to amaze me!

They did a good job with my nails. However the environment was kinda ehhh. I’m gonna be honest, I asked for something kind of eccentric (diff color on each nail then stickers that I brought on each nail) for a shellac manicure. I understand the other staff might be curious, but like half their staff was just standing there STARING at my hands for so long. Like one of them was helping, but like still have that many people surround me made me pretty uncomfortable. Id rather you just talk about after I leave or honestly just say they aren’t sure they wanna take that on from the jump. It was just overwhelming tbh have that many people circle around me

Ok well as interesting as my nails were, it didn’t warrant so many people surrounding me for SO LONG. Also is there a reason they had so much free time? I don’t get it

First off the only reason I'm giving one star is because Annie one of the technicians that my wife always went to was great. I say "WAS" because I bought my wife a full set of gell nails as part of her birthday gift and included a tip of $10, a total of $78. My wife called up and made an appointment, a couple of hours before the appointment she called and asked if she could come early, the female receptionist told her that she could move her appointment to 2pm. My wife arrived just before 2pm and proceeded to sit there for over 35 minutes, when she asked the receptionist how much longer it would be because her appointment was at 2PM the receptionist was very rude and said that "she just had to wait". She then proceeded to speak very loudly in Vietnamese to her coworkers who all looked round at my wife clearly to look at who the receptionist was speaking about, making my wife feel very uncomfortable. My wife has never had this sort of treatment for the other receptionist Alex who has always been professional. After my wife left she was very upset that she was treated this way by a company that she has been going to and supporting for over 10 years and has been recommending to people. This isn't the first time that she has been disappointed with the service
My wife was so disappointed with how she was treated that she decided to speak to the owner Kevin, he originally apologized and said that he would look into it and would call her back on Tuesday, today is Friday and my wife had to call him to find out what his feedback was. He then proceeded to blame my wife for changing her appointment, my wife asked what his inclusion policy was and he said that they don't have one so they can speak in Vietnamese to one another about their clients. Other than saying "sorry" while literally laughing at my wife he wasn't prepared to do anything to rectify the bad service that was given to my wife. I would totally NOT recommend this place to anyone and if you go there I would recommend that you find somewhere else before this happens to you!

Easy to book appointment, always accomodating. Best for gelx, bio gel, acrylic sculpts plus designs. I usually go to Tracy, but have seen multiple others who all have done a great job

I would say my experience at Urban Nails was underwhelming and disappointing. I called days ahead and booked and appointment for Saturday at 10am. When I got there at five minutes to 10 it was already completely full. When I introduced myself to the reception and said I had an appointment she looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about. I was then handed off to a lovely young lady who was very polite. She said that we would have to start the service in the pedicure chairs since there was no room in the manicure stations, even though I had called and made an appointment. I got a new biogel set. It was beyond awkward sitting in the pedicure chairs balancing the gel lamp on my lap. The entire biogel set including gel polish colour was done in 45 minutes. Way too fast for it to be well done. It has been one week and my nails are all lifting off already. I am very disappointed. When I went to pay I was asked if I brought cash. I said no I was paying by card and then told I should have brought cash it would have been cheaper. I wish when I called to make the appointment I would have been told that. It is unfortunate that my service was so disappointing as it was not cheap and the young lady was very nice. The salon only seems interested in doing quality work for the very intricate nail designs they can post on social media. Everyone else is just run through their service so fast, quality definitely suffers.

I will not be returning.

I will never go to this place again. I had an 11 am appointment for myself and my sister. My sister got in right away and I had to wait 20 mins to be seen. My sister was done her treatment by the time I got helped. Two teenagers walked in and they got served not only BEFORE me (despite my appointment being before theirs) but were placed in a prime seating location. The staff had the AUDACITY to put me in the basement. The basement smelled disgusting and was not only dark but dirty. They also did not even have my nail polish colour. I can’t believe I was willing to pay for a biogel full set here. I told them I no longer wanted their service and sat waiting for my sister. Even my sisters treatment was badly done. She got a polish change and they didn’t even take all her old nail polish off. I felt completely deceived and horrible following this treatment from their staff. I will never go back here again. I thought this would be a relaxing appointment with my sister but I came out mad and embarrassed I was actually going to spend money there. I never write negative reviews but this time I had to. Please do not waste your money, I’ve had much better experience with other nail salons on the Danforth. Avoid this place.

They made it really clear that they have enough clients and are really busy. Take your business elsewhere, there are so many salons along the Danforth that can do just a similar job (if not better) and are customer friendly. They do not honour appointments nor are apologetic about their mistakes and blame the customer instead. Both the front desk guy and Paola showed unprofessional attitude. Not worth the money considering their unprofessionalism. You can see how they respond to negative comments from other reviewers. They also raised their prices but still had the old prices printed on the flyers.

Simply love this place! They always understand what you want in respect to the design and do an amazing job! Been going there for 2 years now!

I came in for a refill because I had a horrendous set that was done by another tech elsewhere 2 weeks prior. I needed my nails redone and I had the pleasure of having Lily assist me. She took off my old set and gave me a flawless natural full set. I’m glad I found this salon. Moving forward I will definitely come back for my sets and hopefully have Lily again <3. I’ll also have my family book with this salon since they do a better job.

The people here are simply amazing! My shellac manis usually last about 4 weeks with no peeling. They take great care of their customers. Thank you! Kevin you're amazing at what you do thanks again!

Always great service! Everyone working there is fantastic, but I always ask for Tommy. His work is super quick but extremely precise. My go to shape is stiletto, which I've heard is the most difficult, but he never fails me. I would recommend booking an appointment as they are rightfully busy most times I go in. I can't see myself going anywhere else.

I live in woodbridge and yet I travel 1 hr each way to get my nails done to perfection by the One & Only Kevin every month. To say that he is an artists who delivers perfection - and stands by the quality of his work is an understatement. I had the pleasure of getting introduced to Gel-x nails - done specifically by Kevin in Canada - and I haven't looked back since. Thank You Kevin for your friendship & for glaming my nails up to a whole new other level

I got my nails done and they are beautiful! They all were so sweet to me. My nail technician was amazing, good listener and very talented. They worked so hard to do what I wanted from a picture I showed, and I love mine even more than the example picture!

I got jewels/gems, sparkles and designs and they did it all so well.

I have sensitivity in my hands and they were so accommodating to me. Very kind.

First time coming to Urban Nails! Store is nice and clean, staff are quick, helpful and kind, and nails came out great!

I went last minute to this Salon after getting my nails done last night at a different place, and having the absolute worst experience. The first place I went to butchered my nails, from shaping, to how think it was, and overall my nails looked a mess.

I visited this Salon this morning, and they were able to squeeze me in which I was SO grateful for. I believe the gentlemen that did my nails, his name was David (if I’m not mistaken).

He basically did plastic surgery on my nails lol - he was able to make shave down the gel so it didn’t look as thick and unnatural, additionally he also tried to shave off as much gel UNDERNEATH my nails, as the previous salon put gel underneath near my skin.

My nails now look completely natural, beautiful shape, and he was quick and efficient. Not to mention the price was very reasonable.

The salon was beautifully decorated and very clean. The few employees I came in contact with were quite friendly.

I went it to get my acrylics done and i didn’t like how they turned out and i went back the next day to get them repainted and they had no problem with it, they were supper kind and very professional.the customer service is beyond exceptional and i’m so excited to go again.

Not worth the money. I came in to get a bio gel set done. When asked how long I wanted my nails I stated a little longer than they were end up being cut, which I did not say anything about because I did not mind. Despite this, the nails came out nice which is why I would leave a good review however I was charged much more than what they should have been. This length I got should have been no more than $50 however I was charged $70. Even with this extension, my nails are not much longer than I walked in with (the photo actually makes them look longer than they are). This price would have been acceptable for medium length nails but my nails came out to be EXTRA short. I came here before however since then they have raised their prices a lot.

Urban Nails is the best nail salon I have ever visited. The cleanliness and the talented, friendly staff are exceptional. I used to go to a chiropodist before I go to a nail salon due to extremely difficult toenails and feet. I no longer need a chiropodist, since my favourite person, Adam, is able to do everything. I don't even recognize my own nails anymore, they now feel great and are beautiful! I will recommend this place to anyone I meet!

I have gotten both pedicures and biogels done here this place is impeccably clean, organized. The staff are attentive and customer service oriented. They have proper covid screening process in place and everyone was masked up at all times. Even my non shellac pedicure lasts longer than usual when I get it done here! I got my biogels done for my engagement party and they were perfection exactly what I asked for! Thank you guys

I love Urban nails! It’s close to my home and work which is super convenient. Lilly is an amazing nail tech and she always makes sure that I’m happy with the colour and design. Extremely clean nail salon with amazing and friendly staff!

We made an appointment a week ago for 6 people (maximum capacity is 8)
We were assured we would all be seen at the same time.
We arrived and only 3 of us could be seen and 3 of us had to wait outside.
Two of us used 5 different colours and were charged $5.00 extra dollars, though we were not told of the extra charge before hand.
The pedicures were okey, the manicures lousy. I can do a better job myself
I understand that with COVID all things are not perfect, however ours was not a great experience.
We did tell the owner how we felt
We will not be going back

I've been going to this place for years. The staff are wonderful, the place is clean and well kept, they went above and beyond with Covid protocols, and I always leave with fantastic nails. Paula is amazing. Can't wait until they reopen!

My pedicure was horrible. The lady rushed, the polish looks horrible. My don't even look like I had a pedicure done.

I gave this salon 2 stars because the owner reached out to me after I sent them a message of how poor one of the lady’s did my nails. It was really nice that he was willing to rectify what was done. I came in for a refill and asked for a nude colour, she gave me a purple instead. I had on short acrylic nails and she refilled biogel on top of the acrylic. The shape was horrible, it was bumpy, none of the nail shapes were consistent on none of 10 fingers and the application was very poor. I was really disappointed in the poor work that was done, I’m starting to realize that as a young woman a lot of these nail salon techs don’t take young people seriously and don’t put in the effort and value their customers. I could’ve gone some where else but I chose your business to spend my hard earned money. I have no problem going to a upcoming nail artist that charges way less with way better quality, please value every customer that comes into your business no matter what age or any differences, we are looking for good quality work so provide that.

Urban Nails is the only place I get mani and pedis done in Toronto! Kevin, the owner is so hospitable and welcoming - It is no wonder why the place is always full! All the staff is extremely kind and the interior of the salon is clean and modern. The price points are very fair and I can't wait to go back!

I have been going to Urban Nails for about 7 yrs now. Their consistency as the years go by is better and better each time. Paula is the kindest and most down to earth person I have ever met. BEST nail salon in Toronto, hands down. Beautiful and clean space, friendly and attentive employees who ALL do such a great job. Ive never left disappointed and my bio-gel fills last me nearly a month. I am extremely picky about my nails, but Kevin is a God and does such a great job every time. Great for waxing, and very reasonably priced. I recommend this place to anyone I can! Worth the commute from downtown.

I thought this place wasn't too bad AT FIRST but then while I was getting my nails done I noticed a few nails looked more squared shaped then coffin nails when I told the woman who was doing my nails this she didn't even bother to listen to me and just started to argue with me and get loud. Since I'm not a confrontational person I de-escalated it and just kept my mouth shut. After my nails were done they looked okay I have definitely had better done but with all things considered it didn't look too bad. Everything was alright until 5 days later (NOT EVEN A FULL WEEK) my nail broke off and I don't even do hard labour I work at an office job for God's sake. I don't know if my situation was just an anomaly or what but that was definitely not worth the $40 or the gas I wasted on going there. Safe to say that my first time will be my last time.

Edit 2: Hi Kevin I see your reply and I can 100% say that I never spoke to your receptionist because this nail broke off today and this review is the first I have mentioned it to anyone so whatever she told you was a BLATANT LIE which makes me even more upset if I being honest. At this point of time I just a refund because it's a lot of gas to waste going all the way from Milton to downtown Toronto.

I have been going to urban nails for about 6 years. It started out great, but nothing has been upgraded and many things need maintenance/attention. Starting to seem a bit run down. Staff almost always do a decent job, and the owner is absolutely lovely. Prices are a bit high, but the convenience of the location is worth it. Most of the time they can accommodate walk-ins, but appointments are definitely better.

I was walking by and stopped in, i didn't have Appointment they took me in really fast, Did such an amazing job I will definitely be coming back and i do highly Recommend them.

The only place in the city I will go to for my bio-gel nails. The staff are so sweet and efficient and pay keen attention to detail.

I’ve visited 3 or 4 times and I like the following:

* How they shape my nails.
* The aesthetics of the salon.

What I don’t like is:

I don’t come to sit in your chairs to hear the tech constantly whine about the difficulty of the design. I sit there, share the design, and you agree to do it. If you can’t do it, say you don’t do it, I’ll be okay.

“It’s hard, next time don’t do so hard, next time come earlier”.

On top of that, I was charged 80 dollars for a first time acrylic fill and design that doesn’t include any gemstones, glitter, foils, or additives. I got lines, squiggly lines and a matte coat that stopped being matte 2 days later. I liked it, but won’t be back.

Best spot in the city. I leave with sharp and clean claws every time. I usually walk in.that being said, I don’t have a preference of who should do my nails as all nail techs are talented!

Definitely recommend this place and will be returning again! They are quick, and reasonably priced with many staff to help you.

The girl at the front seat was so polite and helping to us when choose our colours. Cindy my esthestisian was so sweet and did a great job.:)

These people really rush their work which I do not like. I wanted ombre nails and the owner directed me to a young guy. I asked the guy if he had done done ombre before to which he replied "yes"but he looked very insecure while doing my nails. In the end the nails did not have a natural fade and looked very sloppy. This place overcharges while the quality is not so great.

Usually very busy so appointments are better than walking in, but the staff is very friendly and service oriented. I was impressed that I was offered water or tea as soon as I walked in. Plus their work is top notch.

Always busy.no reason to call and book an appointment just go and waaaait your turn, some of these nail technicians know what their doing.some.but alway busy which is a good thing they offer you beverage

Kevin and his staff are polite and provide great customer service. Unfortunately on busier days they tend to lose sight of that. But overall, Kevin always takes care of me!

I had my nails for my wedding done here and won't go anywhere else from now on! The staff are beyond sweet and they use good quality products for the prices you pay. There's never been a day I've been where it's not busy so make sure you book an appointment vs.just walking in so you won't be disappointed.

David did an excellent job designing my nails today. The price is very reasonable and they fit me in for a same day booking. This is biogel shellac.

I used to LOVE urban nails. My mom and I have been coming here since it opened. Long time, faithful customers who would come once a month. Lately though, I find that appointment times don't matter, you still wait and then, depending on who you get, they rush through your appointment. My mom and I always get Mary and Thi, and their work is amazing. I will not deny that. But Mary gets overbooked constantly, yesterday she seemed to have 3 appointments at the same time. I've even had a time when my manicurist never showed up because she was booked on a day she doesn't work.

Jake, the receptionist was very apologetic yesterday about the mix up and tried to keep every one happy. Truthfully, I felt bad at one point cause he was running around so much keeping things on track. I think Urban Nails needs to sit down and review their booking method (maybe use a computer and a program designed for this) to minimize the mixups, because as they get more customers, this is only going to get worse. If they cam fix this, then I am sure they can be back on top.

I am so frustrated this is the 2nd time I’ve gotten dip on my nails and they have chipped after 1 day. This is absolutely unacceptable as i used to love urban nails before and i am very disappointed. They do not do the dip properly and i will not be coming back.

Didn't have an appointment but were able to fit me in. Waited about 10 mins. They were fast and efficient. Came to fix up my bio gels that i did at another place. Would recommend

Kind of like a factory, loud, get you in and out as quickly as possible. If you just want your nails done it’s alright but if you actually want to relax and not have wait times etc this is not the place

They have so many people working there that it's easy to get in without a reservation and they are super fast but still do a great job and the staff is super friendly! I travel from the west end just to go here!

They don’t appreciate their clients. I’ve been going here every 2 weeks for years. I make my appointments and show up on time and more often than not I still have to wait 15 - 45 minutes for my appointment to start. With no apologies or compensation. I’ve referred several people who have also had this experience but we continue to go.

The first time I’m late, 1 minute past their 10 minute policy I walk in and someone is already in the chair, mid manicure. They tell me they can’t take me with my regular tech bit they can give me to someone else. I would assume that if I’m only 1 minute past the deadline and you have someone else available, that you would give the walk in that you just accepted to the next available person and seat me with the only tech that I use.

I understand their need to keep things moving and I respect it. But as a client who has had to wait on several occasions and had my appointment cancelled an hour before it starts because the tech couldn’t come in, I would hope that they would take these into consideration and make an attempt to accommodate a very good and loyal client.

Kevin and has staff are amazing and they definitely try their very best to accommodate everyone. Kevin is very passionate about his work and business, if you watch and speak to him you will know for yourself. That is the kind of owner and team I trust with my nails and I am very very pick! Thank you for the beautiful nails, Kevin!

Best acrylic nails ive ever had done, ask for elaine, fair prices, nice reception, usually busy i think thats a good thing.i have never waited more then 20 mins, great placeee

My last visit was a bit of a turn off.
The tech that I was working on me had her things on the desk which were in the way, it wasn’t very clean.
I asked her if she was going to trim my cuticles she said it’s $5 extra, I said really, well then no!
I think that’s a load of bs considering your nail bed should be clear of debris or excess skin (cuticles) in order for any gel or polish to stay properly adhered to the nail.
I’m curious as to why each technician has a dirty box of drill bits. Doesn’t seem that professional.
I was very excited but I think I’m going to look elsewhere. Prices are steep. And yes like a previous comment all the technicians are lounging or laughing and hanging out on the massage chairs.
I noticed one lady who I think may be the owners mother was sleeping in one chair. I’ve even seen her sleeping in front where people sit and wait. Hmm. I think for what is noted on boards at the front door that it is number one in Toronto should be taken down, professionalism needs a boost. With that being said for the price your paying I shouldn’t have to fix what should have been done in the first place.

So in reply Kevin, no your technician did not use a fresh buffer or file on my nails so that is a lie. Maybe for the toes but the techs I have seen not once did I see a new buffer or nail file used on a client.
Your prices are steeper than most places I will argue and a lot of people would as well, considering I’m already paying for a service, that should include proper maintenance of someone’s nails. $5 to cut cuticles is not fair, and you make it seem like this would take hours, for anyone who comes on a regular basis the cuticles wouldn’t take more than a couple minutes to clean up.

Best nail place EVER! Friendly, and competent, staff. I brought a senior friend of mine there, and they treated her with the utmost respect and kindness. My gel manicure lasts easily 3 weeks. No chipping or breakage at all! I highly recommend Urban Nails.

Used to be a great, affordable salon. Now they just rush everything. Went for a shellac removal and the woman used the machine for the entire removal instead of soaking. Asked her what she was doing and she didn't respond. I'll never be returning again after being a regular for years.

This used to be my favourite nail salon and I used to come monthly, the owner was great! But sometimes this place can be a hit or miss as it tends to get very busy and some staff rush their work.

I stopped going here about a year ago mainly because I was seated with a nail tech that I've never been with before who rushed my entire appointment. He was very loud and was mimicking and laughing at another customer a few seats away from me in a different language. I thought it was incredibly rude! The customer wasn't doing anything wrong? She was actually having a very pleasant conversation with her nail tech!

After that, I just started exploring other nail salons in the city. A bit of a late review, but better late than never.

Used to come here often when I lived near years ago. Now it is always so busy and staff seem to rush. I went for a gel mani/regular pedi 2 weeks ago before I left on vacation. Paid extra for chrome nails (total $75). My nails looked decent, not great. That very same night one nail was already chipped. I emailed the salon to ask if they could fix that nail when I got back because I was already on vacation. I figured if I was in town I would go in and they'd fix it so why not let them know? Never got a response. 2 days later 2 more nails chipped. Before the week was through a total of 6 nails were chipped! For $75 I would expect the gel mani to last at least 2 weeks. Wish I'd gotten a response when I first contacted.
