Passport was pre-approved, Sent passport in mail to have Visa Stamp applied, Month and a half after passport was received by them still not returned. Had to post-pone USA trip twice due to this.

Had indicated dates in application and paid for Express processing.

One of the best experiences i had in my life. Staff very cooperative and professional. I was in at 8: 15am and everything was finished by 8: 55am.
I received my passport with the visa after 2 days. The officer was very nice and respectful. My appointment was 8: 30am but the let me in at 8: 15.
Take your papers only no mobiles no watches no electronics. Everything is organized.
Thank you
23 September 2023 23:19
Is there a walk in to apply for US passport or CBRA? There exist no appointment online.no way to contact this place?
18 September 2023 21:17
As a U. S.citizen I feel nothing but second-hand embarrassment! For a consulate to COLLECT VISA FEES, only to THEN INFORM applicants that their APPOINTMENT will be in 2 TO 3 YEARS time and that their payment will NOT be REFUNDED, is beyond shameful and absolutely inexcusable! The way this consulate operates is what any scammer must aspire to.
Is this really what we deem an acceptable representation of the U. S.abroad nowadays? !
28 May 2023 9:23
Next appointment available after 1 to 2 year, you have to pay a non refundable fee but no appointment available, not worth it to take the visa, keep your money or travel somewhere else
22 May 2023 2:00
Took years to get a passport appointment during and after the pandemic. But after finally booking our passport appointments, everything went through smoothly and efficiently.
12 May 2023 4:37
Expect downtown traffic as usual. Staff very helpful. Don’t forget your pre paid envelope like I did. There is a staples close that you can purchase from. No electronics! If I had been bringing my young children I would use a small stroller as the area is small, but over all pleased. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
29 April 2023 3:58
I recently was here reporting my sons birth but have been here previously to renew my passport - I have always found the staff friendly and the process pretty efficient - we were in and out. This time I remembered not to bring my phone but forgot about my watch:/ - I ended up renting a locker at Staples for $6. Overall, great experience.
20 March 2023 14:13
They were very helpful and quick in processing. They also explained some other stuff we needed to know. No electronics of any sort though. Just make sure you have everything.
18 March 2023 19:51
Line moves pretty fast. Friendly staff. Parking is close by and for storage there is a convenience shop near by (438 university ave.)
11 March 2023 18:38
Really fast and easy process with helpful staff! Quick note for everyone - No electronics are allowed inside the consulate including but not limited to phones, tablets, watches, etc. There are no lockers/storage areas nearby so best not to get them with you or bring someone who can hold onto your stuff.
06 March 2023 3:14
Excellent service. The U. S. Consulate Staff is very polite, accommodating and the lines didn't take that long. Make sure you do not bring any electronics, including smartphones and watches. You can rent a locker at a convenience store that is close to Tim Hortons on the right side. Overall, I am very impressed with the performance.
03 March 2023 22:41
Arrive exactly on time to avoid waiting in lines.
They expect you to have print outs of Appointment confirmation, DS-160 (even though it clearly says, do not bring to interview) and photographs.

If you re-scheduled appointment from some other city to Toronto, carry new DS-160 with location set to Toronto. You can ask update DS-160 number when they place sticker on your passport.
01 March 2023 0:01
The space inside is a little constrained, but overall, a very well-managed place. All the staff and visa officers are very polite and friendly. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. Just make sure you have all the documents ready and well put together!
19 February 2023 16:07
I had a great time when I was applying for a USA visa. The officer was very professional. He asked me decent questions and instructed me on what to do. Unfortunately, I missed one of my documents. He gave me his information and asked me to email him.
I got my Visa the days after, and I summited my document.
19 January 2023 13:40
Very helpful staff and security. They will show you the right way of doing things which is emailing the right people. In general, I have had a good experience.
31 December 2022 13:09
Hi is anyone know how I get new passport?
I really need for my Mom, if anyone know please give me feedback.

Thank you so much ️
28 September 2022 22:18
Was a quite and decent environment. Not much rush near the Consulate but going towards that route was a hell. Downtown Toronto is always busy with Construction and Roads are always blocked. Very fast processing, mobiles and Bags are not allowed. Street Parking is available but very few but Underground parking is also available close by. Good luck everyone.
14 September 2022 8:29
Very large visa entry.signed up for next year.it's a terrible queue.to visit the country for a few days.but lucky to find the time earlier.the staff is fast.all documents are accepted quickly.it all took about 20 minutes.excellent work of the service, if it were not for such a long record at the reception. You can only take documents with you.even mobile phones are asked to be left in the car.check the waiting list more often, there is an opportunity to find time earlier
21 August 2022 19:45
Went there for renewal of my kid's passport, the staff was nice and accommodating. Just noticed a few instructions were missing. We are supposed to carry a self addressed Canada Post envelope, which was seemingly not mentioned anywhere. And they would need an ID for both the parents with a signature.the instructions says just a government issued ID.better to keep your passport handy with you.
17 August 2022 4:50
Thanks to the amazing team at this consulate for expediting our emergency visa request and giving us passports within 24hrs.
09 August 2022 2:30
The process was smooth. Only if anyone is wondering that mobile phones can be taken inside the building, the answer is No. But, there is a storage locker just beside Tim Hortons and 4 minutes away from US Consulate building where you can pay $5 and keep your stuff safe there. So, anyone travelling alone should not be worried of leaving their mobile phones or any gadgets at home. Also, interviewers, officers and other staff members were humble, friendly and quite accomodating.
09 July 2022 4:13
I went for US Visa interview. Worst experience ever. I was told by the visa officer that my visa is approved at the interview counter. I received the refusal letter next day that said that my visa is refused. My passport was sent back without the visa.
14 June 2022 7:29
Professional staff. Fast service. Took me 45 minutes for the process. And reach at least 30 mins before your appointment and get in line, as the line is long.
02 January 2022 3:01
It was a smooth standard process. Nothing different.

1) Parking: park in IM Parking Lot right across on Simcoe Street. $20 for 7 hours or $10 for 1 hour. Take $20 on safe side, it took us 1 hour and 15 min from starting to end

2) Appointment 9: 15 am, we were there by 8: 40 am, we were allowed inside by 8: 50, the security directed us very well. After initial checks and documentation checks, you have to go for interviews where we had to wait in line for our turn. Took us some time.

3) take your file and car key, nothing else. As per covid, kids under 13 were not allowed, we took our son's passport and they took it forward.

4) there was a lady who came for interview, was pregnant and not feeling well, the security and other staff cared for her, allowed her family to be with her until she was ok to take the interview. We were very impressed for the cooperation she received
17 December 2021 1:44
I went for Greencard services and the people there told me they haven't offered greencard services for "3 or 4 years now". That information isn't anywhere on the website. So they send me to Pearson airport where I find out there isn't a public facing CBP office anyway. Thanks for sending me on a goose chase. Update the website.
07 December 2021 14:35
I am 5 year experience it's field keep. And video modelling making and otherwise interesting and attraction places like old buildings.
27 November 2021 12:32
I had excellent experience, before one day, traveling, I called consulate to renew my passport, they gave me appointment, and renewed it in same day. All employees was kindly.
09 November 2021 15:05
Do not depend on the website for any real information. Bring literally everything document wise you think is associated with you or your identity then sort it out at the office. They also will take credit cards (but not debit cards) so you don't need to worry about bringing a check. Bring blank envelopes, stamps, file folders as well as they have zero supplies at the consulate to process things. If you can only find an appointment with a couple of weeks double make sure you bring all the above listed stuff as the follow up communication they advise will not be done. This is because you chose to book a close in appointment.lol.

Also don't bring ANY electronic things with you. If it takes a battery leave it at home or in a bush. The only exception is a car key. Nothing that has Bluetooth can enter (tiles, headphones, smart watch, activity tracker, etc).
17 July 2021 0:46
From the first person (security person) to last person all the people are very friendly & helpful. Great service keep up the good work.
05 February 2021 14:27
A little piece of Uncle Sam just down the street from the provincial capital. Have always had great service from all the staff. Just remember to leave all your stuff in the car or you'll have to go back use you can't bring anything but your documents on a pen in with you
01 January 2021 3:00
Staff members were professioal and friendly. We were there with our new born and had no issues entering and leaving.
23 August 2020 5:49
Had to obtain an emergency passport for my child and they were incredibly quick and accommodating despite being in the midst of a pandemic.
29 April 2020 5:18
Excellent experience in and out in just over an hour. The staff is friendly and guides you right through the process. Word of caution they don't allow bags, phones, smart watches etc.in consulate. There's a Staples across the road from consulate building and you can check in your stuff there for nominal charge of 5 CAD.
08 April 2020 20:16
I had one of the best experiences here.
The staff is very polite and cooperative. Went for the non immigrant visa interview and the whole process was completed in 20 mins.
I dont know how people rated this place so bad. I am really satisfied with the overall experience.
There is a parking just accross the building. Dont bring mobile phone or other electronic devices. Car keys are acceptable.
28 March 2020 8:07
So I applied in November and wait time was long (78 days)
But I wasn't in rush as I don't had any fix plans.
I drove to downtown and this was my first time driving to downtown Toronto, I saw a parking when my gps was showing me still 800 meters away but I parked there anyhow, I had still 45 minutes left so walked towards the embassy, I had my phone with me still for directions, I asked the embassy guard and he told me the convenience store where I can put my phone and other stuff so I paid 5 dollars for that, it is like hundred meters away from the embassy and outside the store they have written (lockers and photos something like that)
Came back to embassy, got in line, got my passport checked, went inside.
Important thing: I see people with car remotes there which means you can bring them so If you driving just put everything in the car and bring keys with you, parking is available close by.
Well I went to first counter after security, they check your form and put a sticker behind your passport, photo booth is available inside the embassy if u want.
Went to second counter, she checked my PR card and scanned my photo as I didn't provide one while applying.
Next counter for finger prints, then comes the visa interview.
Literally she asked me three questions, I tried to go in details (as I was trying to make an impression) and she said just answer the questions I am asking.
I brought so many documents with me including my bank statements, employment letter, education documents etc etc but she didn't ask for anything and when I tried to show some, she said no need.
My interview was less than three minutes and she said your Visa is approved, we will provide the passport in a week.
Now this was so quick that I wasn't really satisfied so I asked is this multiple entry and she said yes, I said for how many years and she was kind of annoyed and told me for ten years, yes seriously ten years.
This was my first time applying for US visa so people who complaint are really not well prepared or there cass is not appealing enough.
I am sure majority of the things they have checked in advance so interview is kind of formality and to confirm and see any documents if they want.
My experience was great, process was smooth.
I spent maximum 30 minutes in the building, mostly in waiting only.
Spent less then three minutes on the counter for my interview and here goes ten year visa on a Pakistani passport that is on third last ranking of passports.
Hit like if you like the review.
25 March 2020 1:06
Good place but when we go to interview, we cant get the belongings to inside, no car keys either.
There is a small shop in the compound store our things with a small fee
11 March 2020 21:38
Went for visa interview today.it took only about 20 mins to go inside and to come out.parked in the impark parking lot in simcoe street as others suggested in reviews.parking there and walking to US consulate was very close and convenient. If the photo submitted during application was acceptable they won't even ask for a photo again.they ask for a photo only if that was unacceptable. I took a photo taken in costco with me and they never asked me for a photo. They also have a photo booth inside to take pics instantly for $10
10 March 2020 12:21
The process was smooth. I was done with the interview in just about 15 minutes. The downside is no parking and no storage location for belongings.
06 March 2020 11:37
I applied for my US visitors visa here in August, and I was able to schedule my appointment in Nov. The process was pretty straight forward, just answer whatever they ask, honestly. The consul that interview me was an old woman, who was very nice. My visa was approved and I spent less than 15 minutes in the building. Now, I can't wait to go across the border to visit my family.
17 February 2020 17:31
Filled with very hostile, aggressive, and rude people. When I went in for a meeting, they kept hedging consular assistance on my ability to help them with what they called "a regime change. " Yeah right buddy.
05 January 2020 13:13
Had an E2 visa application today and my experience was fantastic! The interviewer in booth 12 we had was very friendly and it went super smooth, he was just great to deal with!
03 January 2020 2:45
Firstly, I have had visas issued previously by American Embassies or Consulates in Istanbul, Nassau and Bogota. However, the Consular Officer at Window 10, an older caucasian lady, was the devil's advocate. She had absolutely no comprehension skills and could not understand why I was applying for the visa in Toronto as I don't reside in Canada. After I explained to her my passport with a valid 10 Year B1/B2 visa was damaged and being replaced. Despite there being provisions for these types of emergencies, she still denied me the visa. Never have I experienced such incompetence.
24 December 2019 10:44
1. We took 8 o'clock appointment and queue was very short and were let in at 7: 40 maybe because of the cold.

2. Parked at Impark parking spot for $20 and its right behind it. (150 m approx) Mostly you will be done within an hour but sometimes if application don't load for some they ask you to wait.

3. No mobiles or electronic devices allowed. However I had remote car keys with me. Kept everything in car and took plastic folder for documents.

4. Process was smooth, in and out. Also take early appointments you can drive in n out of core easily.

If this helped, hit like for others.
18 December 2019 10:16
The entire experience was memorable! The service was really quick, the entire process took 15 minutes and my visa was approved. My visa officer was professional and astounding too!

Thank you!

U. S Consulate General Toronto. I am recommend to people who is apply US embassy. Very good staff and kind. Please be mind when person goes there, person has to be take:
1) ds-160
2) passport
3) photo 3*4
4) bank statement
5) study permit

I would like to say easy where there. It is near St Patrick subway station. But It is a option to near to Tim Hortons has small store they will allow to put your staff (5$).

I hope this information will be helpful for everyone who will be going to there.
01 December 2019 2:47
Not even deserve to get one star. I had interview today at 7: 30 am for B1/B2 and the visa officer was so rude she was not even listening the answers. Its just waste of time and money by booking appointment here and getting rejections even though u have proper reason and proof for visiting USA. Not even asking to show the documents. They are just doing formalities. I think officers in India was gud enough as compared to a lady that I met today she was so rude and not interested to listen answers of any one just given rejections. They r just earning money. Try to book appointment on some other place instead of this.

Hi
I would like to apply for a US Visa but my only problem is I can't remember the last time I visited the US. During my bus trip they did not stamp my passport. What can I do?
09 November 2019 7:10
Its depend on who you get to interview you.the person that interview my wife was the worse. Condescending and rude.didnt even bother to ask questions or documentation that we came prepare for.just throw her passport in the slot and asked us to leave because it was denied. He held my passport and now I have to return to pick it up. I never ever experience anybody like this before. Power hunger. What worse, we can't even complaints his service or how he treated us. He asked 1 question 4x as if he was mocking us. Sad. I guess we spend our vacation money elsewhere.
08 October 2019 4:34
Lost my passport during a layover in Toronto.these fine people took care of me in a single afternoon, and was able to go home to Texas. I love each and every person in that office.
15 September 2019 4:16
Our appointments started at 7 a.m. They opened past 8 a.m. Some personnel were impolite and will not listen. I told the Indian lady that my TN working visa is Research Assistant. I have science journal publications but she insisted that I give her a laborer contract. They should hire more competent personnel in Toronto.
08 September 2019 20:15
If you need to put your items, convenience store provide storage $ locker services near at the simcoe st and dundas st.
30 August 2019 7:25
People are very friendly and the interview is just 5 minutes, But it is really packed in toronto.
They are very professional!
13 August 2019 19:49
Seems like the reviews have made a difference as the process for me was extremely smooth and fast from start to finish. The staff were friendly and the VO officer was in a good mood. The entire process from start to finish lasted barely 30 minutes. I hope they remain the same way in the future too.:)
07 August 2019 8:52
This review is to provide information for people visiting the consulate because I needed this information when I visited.
1) You cannot take cellphones or electronics into the consulate. I had to throw out my USB (!). The Staples on University Ave has a service where you pay 5$ to keep your things. They also have photo services and envelopes for express delivery if you need.
2) Even if your appointment is in the Simcoe Street location, I would recommend just going through University Ave as there is a set of stairs that connects to the back outside the building.
3) You have to provide your passport at the front of the building and go through security (Remember no phones, keys, or electronics). You then check in and wait in line to speak to someone at a window. After they look at your passport and ask you preliminary questions you line up again to get your biometrics and then line up a third time for the interview. There is limited seating so wear comfortable shoes because you will be standing a while. The entire process from check in to interview took approximately 45 minutes.
4) I took the train to union station and if you go straight down Bay Street and past Queen to University it takes about 20 minutes.
26 July 2019 7:51
Fast service, friendly staff.
I read all the reviews before going there. I saw the Asian (Chinese) lady. She looks scary and she worn white gloves even though this is hot summer days.

Luckily she didn’t interview me! Thanks God.

I passed the US visa in 5 minutes.
22 July 2019 0:22
Not my first time here, always fast and pleasant service. Place is clean and very organized by itself. Super helpful staff! AC as a "plus".
17 June 2019 23:27
Waste of time and money. If you are applying for B1B2 as a permanent resident - better try other consulate, if you can. These guys are not adequate, unfortunately. The instructions on their website are also misleading or outdated. Very unhelpful and not welcoming. Beware.

I applied for B1B2 to participate in the conference my employer paid for. I started the process about 3 months before the conference. I gathered all the papers they mentioned on the website plus extra papers that could make the case just dead simple: I'm a permanent resident, 1.5 years in Canada, employed with the same employer, stable job and salary - I had all the documents proving that very clear and easily, the conference relates to my job, the confirmation from employer about my participation - everything. So on the interview, apart from some questions about my thesis which I did as a student like 10 years ago, they asked me for.my resume and emphasized they they DON'T need employment letter! I read the forums so I was prepared for questions about thesis, answered everything but nowhere on the website was mentioned a RESUME. Even though I had extra documents for any possible case (like they recommend), a resume is the last thing you would expect, because first, I'm not looking for a job, and second, they have all the information about my employment history in DS-160 I filled in with the data from my resume. But that was a deal breaker for them! And if it is a deal breaker, why the resume is not mentioned on the website among the documents? I suggested to provide a linkedin link right away on the spot but she refused.

So she (the officer) said that since I don't have a resume, I should send it via email and gave me 221g rejection yellow slip. They also requested a list of my research publications (while I'm going just to the professional conference related to my job, not to the university or research I was doing 10 years ago). And after I sent it, it took them 5+ weeks to review it. The email they provide is just a bot responding with standard messages, you can't see the status of your case, you can't clarify anything, you can't know whether somebody even opened it or not. This is the service you get for 200$ you pay.

Fast forward, eventually, I got the visa after the conference has finished. To top it off, it was issued for LESS than a year, which makes it useless, because the conference, as usually, is annual, it won't happen earlier again. And I'm not having vacations in US for the nearest year.

So, TLDR: even if you have strongest case possible with perfect documents and status in Canada, at least one of the officers in this consulate will do everything to block your case, and sabotage your trip or any business you have in the US. I wasted 200 dollars and huge amount of time.
