So there are NO FITTING RROMS anymore. This means IF IT DOESNT FIT you have no option but to return it and then you have to get credit and get that amount again just to have it not fit again and still have to return it. The time I've wasted plus gas money makes this NOT A GOOD DEAL. Go elsewhere.

I now see why people are saying Value Village pricing system is ridiculous.

I was in here yesterday and saw a Dollarama item with the price tag still on it for $2. Value Village was charging $3 for the same item. What type of logic goes into pricing? At least remove the original price tag. They just blatantly don't care. Imagine the other items in there priced at higher than normal prices.

Seems like all they care about is ripping people off.

Support smaller, not-for-profit thrift stores not this wanna be thrift store that is money hungry.

One of very few low quality value village stores. Very less choices of items as compared to other value village stores. I would recommend value village at cross avenue, Oakville rather than going to this store.

Found a couple of treasures. Clean store. Very slow paced, well organised but few choices for school age boys.

This store has pretty good selection. I’ve at least twice found like new or gently used items that I was specifically looking for and had not seen at other thrift stores.

I have a terrible experience every time I go here. The last visit the line situation was chaos and very little staff to care about it. My visit today was a waste of time after spending 30 minutes looking for 2 books, I checked the price guide they have posted and figured I would be paying about $7. One used book only had an old sticker price of $4 but the cashier insisted I’d be paying $5.99 as well as the other that didn’t have a previous price labeled. I left empty handed. Owned by Wal-Mart, Value Village isn’t was it used to be and doesn’t need my donations or business.

Thrift hunting is so much fun in this store. Always a lot of nice options especially for books.

Prices are almost the same as buying new. It's great if you're looking for something obscure or vintage.

So awesome to get back out thrifting again! Got some great buys and the staff were very friendly, as usual.

Great customer service at this location, especially from Lisa who is always so friendly and cheerful.

Poorly lit. Usually unorganized. The staff doesn’t really make any efforts to be friendly most of the time.

Do not expect any kind of appreciation, or even to be acknowledged, when dropping off donations to this location. I have donated to many different Value Village locations over the years, but this one takes the cake for absolute disrespect towards their customers. They do not say hello to you when you arrive, or have a nice day when you leave, so definitely do not expect an actual Thank You when you've just donated hundreds of dollars worth of items for them to sell and make money off of. And let's not forget the fact that they keep garbage cans handy, to literally throw your items into, in front of you, right after you've been good enough to give it to them. Does anyone know what that huge machine is called, which they have set up to demolish any and all items they don't want to keep? It certainly is a nice touch, to see your items being thrown onto it's conveyor belt, so you can then watch your items being chopped up into bits before your eyes. The absolute disrespect shown towards people who are actively keeping them in business is unbelievable. I will donate my items elsewhere from now on. This is unacceptable.

Good experience overall, great staff, lots of room to shop without bumping into people, great prices. Having said that, disappointed that fitting rooms had been removed. I understand that Covid19 was the reason, but could have spaced occupants. Touching 2nd hand clothing there anyway, won't be shopping there for pants for sure, as tried on shirts in store aisle. I seldom buy without trying on, especially with no refunds, only store credit for valuvillage.

Went in today, staff was pleasant and constantly cleaning, my 2 star rating is due to the fact I picked up two pieces of Tupperware containers when I took the lid off the stench of stale cigarettes was so strong even the lady near me gagged.
This particular piece was from the 80’s so that’s almost 40 years of cigarette smoke
While I read online that VV does not put out things that are stained, or have odours of cigarettes or body scents they obviously do.
It’s too bad that the scent cannot be washed out because it was exactly what I was looking for

I wish they'd arrange their clothes in colour sorting like Talize. It makes browsing so much better!
Other than that, 3 for pricing. VV could reduce the price on many items. The story itself is clean, COVID organized and well setup. Great staff.

Just checked out with Lynne and it was a pretty terrible experience. I had a Childs bike in my one hand and she expected me to lift it on to the cash with the plexiglass in the way. When I couldn’t she snapped at me. Customer service is definitely not her strong point. Get her off cash maybe! I almost walked out without purchase.

Prices are rising.perhaps they've forgotten donations are given freely, and people enjoy visiting due to being able to find reasonable prices and lots of selection.
24 October 2020 21:34
Always find something I like when I go. Staff are almost always friendly and helpful. The store is kept pretty clean and organized. The parking lot can be a bit troublesome sometimes but definitely worth a visit!

You never know what you're going to find. Gstar raw jeans, they look unworn, for $15. Thank you.
16 October 2020 11:50
Alot of items should Not be for sale.really have to go through absolutely everything in hopes of finding one reuseable item of clothing.
13 October 2020 20:42
The concept is great however the prices r inconsistent. 15.00 for a glass bowl and 15.00 for a 50" tv.
11 October 2020 18:52
Great location with attentive staff ready to help and answer questions as needed. Love their coupons and book selection can ever leave empty handed and furniture has some unique finds that works well for diy or budget decoration
07 October 2020 12:42
Well kept and organized, just wished they colour coded the racks like many other second hand shops.
Prices are alright, but they can be high with name brands.
Worth a visit!

It's super clean, bright & well lit. AC is on full blast). Needed a used computer monitor. They had 4, all $20 or less. Tap Debit was available.

I love thrifting, it was neat and tidy. Like all VV kinda overpriced for what items are actually worth. I want to give a huge shout out to a Cashier though, who was working July 28th named Lisa, absolutely amazing and she was so kind, 100% her hard work needs to be recognized
25 August 2020 22:46
It was a pleasure to see the staff cleaning product and wiping down the counter and pin pad every time. Friendly staff i felt safe shopping there
22 August 2020 1:17
The prices have gotten ridiculously high for used clothing and accessories. I still shop there but spend less and I much prefer the Taliz chain where it's much more affordable
27 July 2020 11:22
I don't know what Value village I am reviewing. If it the one on Fairview it's good if it's the one up in millcroft it's also good and huge

Mixed experience at Burlington location. First time I came in was to donate extra household items from my elderly mother. I dealt with the store manager (big guy in his twenties) who gave me a 20% off coupon without asking. This manager was a pleasure to deal with.

Next day I come in with more household stuff to donate. Followed the same procedure as the day before: namely, depositing household items into a rolling bin near the entrance door. After making three trips to the car with various items donated, I then went to the cashier (older white women) and requested another 20% coupon. To which the cashier replied that she did not see me make any donations. As a result the cashier said that she would have to check with the store manager (younger white women with red hair) to determine whether I could have another 20% discount coupon. I tried to explain my situation to the red haired manager. She agreed to give me another 20% off coupon but only after giving me an attitude. I then tried to purchase some socks (new) and use the 20% coupon. I was told that the 20% coupon does not work on new merchandise.

At this point I was holding an old used bus bucket which I used to carry in donations. After the socks transaction failed, the cashier said to me: "are you going to pay for that bus bucket? " I explained that I brought the bus bucket in with me to carry the donated items. Clearly the cashier's nasty tone and implicit accusation of theft was not appreciated.

Conclusion: stay away when problematic staff are on duty.

If you are lucky enough you could find some very good computer chairs like this at a price only $6.99. The original price was $600+. That is a door crash deal! Happy shopping!

Ok is not the word I would use to describe Value Village
. Meh would be a better term with the physical movement of shrugged shoulders. It's not just this store, it's all of them. Their prices have increased substantially over the the past few years, and for what? Used clothing and housewares. I'm thankful they have seniors day though. That's if they have anything worthwhile. It's like playing the lottery.
Not my favourite store to shop in anymore. Can you tell?

Compared to other value villages this place has a poor layout, and an overall feeling of sadness. When I went there was remarkably poor selection and some empty racks with just disorganised hangers everywhere. I usually love going to the value village chain but this was a remarkable disappointment, so here I am remarking on it.
