- Okay if you like being your own cashier. (Only self-checkout available during my visit.)
- My biggest frustration is that there are no fitting rooms to try on clothing. Only an if they don't fit, bring it back (I'm not sure if this is money back or just store credit). With two young children and only being in North Bay occasionally, makes this extra challenging.
-items are highly overpriced in my opinion, considering they get their stock for FREE and they aren't even paying cashier's.

I love coming here! Workers are always super nice and helpful! If I could give other customers (and some of these reviews!) a one star, I would. The amount of times I have seen people absolutely berating the workers about using the self checkout is appalling. “I don’t work there so I don’t want to use self checkout” GROW UP. The workers are more than happy to help you use it if you are having trouble. Thats why there is someone standing at self checkout, to help and make sure people aren’t stealing. Everyone who works here doesn’t make nearly enough money to deal with the rudeness that they experience daily. Wish the prices were lower but thats not the fault of the people who work there, obviously!

Refuses to open a cashier ONLY using self checkout and arguing with customers about being oppressed, very unprofessional

They are forcing people to use self-checkouts. (Which is fine for people who want to use them), but as for me, Sorry, but I do not work there. If I am going to use self-checkouts then I may as well go all the way and buy and shop online from the comfort of my home, then I can also have it delivered to my door. I liked to support second hand stores because it helps reduce on waste but I have no desire to use self checkouts, so bye Value Village.

You can find some decent clothes, prices are kinda high for stuff that was free, now they want you to work there for free too! (Self checkout) maybe the four people standing around at the front of the store could work a till.

Good place to buy used items and some new items, big space filled with little treasures. A little overpriced compared to other thrift shops. Staff is friendly.
07 January 2022 21:41
Very Over priced, no change rooms now.
I donate there alot and found my clothes I donated for super expensive pricing. This is sad when I knew they where tagged almost at the price I paid and pants where only 2 years old.

I find this value village has a lot to offer for the people around this area. The value village in North Bay has a wider variety of items then the one back home in Milton. The employees are very kind and helpful!
08 December 2021 1:17
Scam central, Walmart and giant tiger clothes over double what they are brand new I actually can't believe it!
05 December 2021 23:30
Value Village used to be a store that people on a tight buget could shop for donated items and get a great deal. The prices at this store have skyrocketted recently.

Stopped in for some towels for the puppers and rain coats for my dose and I. Clean store and friendly staff.

I have lost a ton of respect for this place. Which has resulted in a rating. I will say the staff are super nice and 100% don't get paid enough. All and all over the year's I have watched this place continuously mark up their prices. Remember all these items are donated. Even the employee's agree that the logic of the pricing doesn't make sense on most items. Again the majority of the items in the store are donated sigh. The one in Orillia is way better!

**Update: three months later the purse I bought had to.be thrown out. The fake leather was disintegrating. No bargains that day! **

Yeah.it's okay. We went to buy books for a used bookstore and came away with plenty of good stuff. The clothing looked older and picked over. I got a good condition purse for $10. If not for the books and the seniors' discount, it would be way down on my list of secondhand shopping destinations. Try Rebuilt Resources for local flavour.

Was so happy that they had cassette tapes here! It's very difficult to find them anywhere else but they had a whole shelf dedicated to them which was awesome. Staff was also very friendly!

Normal Value village, they price some things way too high (electronics and video games specifically)
27 January 2021 11:17
Very picky place when taking in free donations. Will not bend their rules to accomadate or help you out. Front manager is mostly responsible for this, guys in the back are pretty cool. I just had a small glass desk, was not trying to use their place to get rid of garbage.

I used to Love Value Village until they started pricing used items for basically just as much as it would cost new. You have to be willing to spend some time looking through everything to find the best deals. They usually have good prices on houseware and furniture and other things like that but clothing/shoes are sometimes overpriced, in my opinion, especially if it's name brand.

I like buying things and not spending an arm and a leg. So value village is great spot to buy on a budget
02 November 2020 15:40
Theres always fun little trinkets to find at value village, the Workers have always been super polite to me. I've never had a bad experience.
18 October 2020 15:33
The precautions are alright, I just wished they had signs on the floors indicating which isle to go down for each direction.
14 October 2020 21:40
Rocked out to some tunes and had an amazing selection of well everything second hand. The prices can really vary though for no particular reason
18 September 2020 10:59
Is like a yard sale, but inside.

VV.ya need to fix the washrooms. I would've stayed longer but noooooo, no essential bathroom facilities for your customers.shame shame! Not cool!
18 September 2020 10:53
The selection of items and variety of clothes never ceases to amaze me. However, the prices on some of the clothing items can sometimes be a bit outrageous seeing as how they are a SECOND HAND STORE (especially if the clothing is name brand items)!
31 August 2020 0:53
Value Village is the best thrift store ever.from Scarborough to North Bay they all rock!
(The prices are getting kinda high for used stuff though)

Treasure Hunting at its best.
27 August 2020 15:44
I love the idea of reducing my purchasing and buying used, but I can not justify buying used clothes at a more expensive price then I see on the sale racks at regular stores. WAY OVER PRICED FOR USED ITEMS.that you get donated for free.
26 August 2020 17:08
Its alqays fun an exciting to find a good treasure for a good price here! But some items do have a ridiculous price so somethings are just better bought NEW, some staff are really nice an helpful, some arnt that nice or helpful, but i could spend hours in this store!
17 July 2020 12:17
The staff are polite, but they over price things they get for free. I always go in to look at different thing and video games priced at retail is just wrong
30 April 2020 3:40
It's a busy place but the prices are high for used clothing Etc did manage to get I used microwave for $20
23 April 2020 13:37
Lots of items to look through, big store, clean and organized, however the prices are sky high. VV's in other locations, such as Stitsville, have lower prices.
19 March 2020 13:55
This place houses a variety of used items such as clothes, cooking ware, toys and much more. They also have a donation drop off area
17 March 2020 3:39
2 biggest complaints are:
1) way more expensive than any other thrift store.
2) carts cant go in the changerooms due to the post. This wouldnt be so bad, if there wasnt a 1.5 ft gap between the floor and the doors. I can never try things on without my toddler running away.
06 March 2020 10:20
The prices at Value Village are insane! When did it become ok to charge such high prices for donated items?
24 December 2019 16:07
Overpriced. This is NOT a non profit organization. Get things for free and resells at a cost beyond most people's budget
05 December 2019 4:13
Lost a lot of respect for Value Villages "values", I have shopped at Value Village since before they came here to North Bay, at one time, they provided a great service, collecting good used clothing and miscellaneous items, sorting and pricing accordingly.
They donated to charities such as the Canadian Diabetes and others.
However, today the bottom line seems to be, only their own bottom line.
Prices for the merchandise they are selling, merchandise which is Donated to them in good faith, are being pushed to heights far beyond the ordinary people who are the very people who most needed a merchant such as Value Village was originally.
08 November 2019 10:38
Great finds to be had at this location, you just need to be patient and plan to spend some extra time looking around. Very rarely is there a line up for the change rooms and they are always clean and tidy. Their Halloween selection is always great.
08 October 2019 16:43
Prices are completely ridiculous for second hand items. Found items priced higher then the original price.
20 September 2019 20:30
I always make amazing finds at this place, it's my favourite Value Village. Good prices and clean store!
17 September 2019 7:45
Used stuff! U can sometimes find stuff u need. Most of the time your better off just going to the dollar store.
04 September 2019 11:25
Wish they didn't mark up all the clothes to like new pricing. I don't care about what name brand I am wearing but may as well buy brand new on alot of clothing items. Not much difference in price
01 September 2019 13:04
Prices are a little bit high, for a thrift store, but occasionally you might find something interesting for a good price.
