I like wandering around here when I'm out this way, hunting for deals and cool stuff. This store has a nice housewares area and usually lots of crafty type stuff.

Decent range of women's & mens clothing, although the kids section is a bit skimpy. Lots of linens/bedding & a good shoe section.

Prices a little less here than the stores in Hamilton, although VV has definitely upped their prices in the last few years; some stuff is the same price or less new!

But still some bargains to be had if you're willing to hunt. Open till 9pm most nights, close at 7 on Sunday.

DO NOT BUY ELECTRONICS HERE! They do not test them and will not refund your money when it does not work. Bought a DVD player for my daughter, sound does not work and the only option they gave was to redonate it so they could scam someone else. I would get a 20% off coupon for my trouble.

The person doing night management has some issues.store is well kept. The one cash self check out is a bit dopey there was a lady having issues with it and I asked another attendant if they could open a regular till and she said oh no that will involve management. Never heard that excuse before. Well management shows up and sends the other person away. Then proceeds to stare at us like we pooped in her cereal for the whole time. Not offering help. Well actually she said can I help you while I was waiting for my friend. But it was because I was looking in the direction of her and she was trying to provoke a confrontation. If you don't like your job and you don't like customer service FIND A NEW VOCATION.perhaps prison guard or angry librarian

Used the self checkouts, scanned my three purchases through, paid and just as I was putting my debit card away an employee comes over and starts peeling the price stickers off the items I just purchased.like W. T. H? I asked her what she was doing and she said that she though the items I scanned were a little under priced. She pointed out that someone had placed a cheaper sticker overtop of the price I scanned. I'd never been so embarrassed in all my life. It wasn't me who did that, I'm not that ballsy. I shopped, found some items I liked, at a reasonable price and paid for them. I felt like I was being accused of stealing. If you felt prices on the items I scanned to be suspicious then you should have stopped the transaction before I paid. I've never been so embarrassed in all my life. They shouldn't have self check out then, if the one employee looking after them is going to question everything you buy. It's embarrassing! I won't be back again! Total b.s.

A regular store will exchange your items if you have the receipt, not this place. The place that gets all their inventory given to them for free and sells it for profit.
20 August 2023 12:27
My sister in law came here for the first time on July 7 in the afternoon to go shopping there for the first time and encountered a not so pleasant experience one lady yelled at her I’m watching u and she was noticing staff was following her only because she was carrying a reusable bag with her insulin for her diabetes and personal belongings for a company that shows on the website that they are partners with Canadian diabetes the staff don’t really seem to represent that in the store sense like they target people with medical conditions which is beyond disgusting and disrespectful I hope the the staff feels ashamed of themselves considering now she no longer feels comfortable bring her insulin with her out causing a huge danger that she could black out unconscious and putting her medical in danger this store clearly needs to be fixed their staffing and educating their employees towards customers
24 January 2023 22:13
Lots of donated used items.but these prices are raising.yet it's all donated.people shop here to save or don't have money for new.
17 December 2022 4:51
Unless you are looking for something specific, thrifting here has changed along with their policies for non-profit organizations. I don't find it worthy of the prices, but sometimes I do find a nik nak now and then.
05 December 2022 6:39
Always a great selection and well organized. And value village is so much cleaner than most thrift shops.
05 November 2022 17:54
I am addicted to this place. I went every Tuesday for six months and got myself about 200 pieces to form the best wardrobe ever. I lost 140 lbs, needed everything new, got the most gorgeous quality stuff to die for, and I’m so grateful.
05 November 2022 8:12
Amazing store better than any mall just look for proper clothes.if you’re a student or have a minimum wage job come here.they got drip and its low price, im sayin $5-10 $10-20 per piece max and its neat clothes.if u shop at mall u work 8 hours for pants, if u come to this store u can get 5 different pieces of clothes while at the mall only 1 piece.its the same clothes / brand just cheaper.if u wanna save money or have barley any come here and save money my g. Dont go broke tryna look rich so shop here
27 September 2022 0:19
It's got a decent selection so 3 and some items are priced accordingly but a lot of items, like clothes. You could buy it new for what they're charging.

10 August 2022 11:54
Great selection, some items are overpriced (not specific to this location though). No fitting rooms anymore
09 July 2022 6:38
More than 3 bathrooms but no change rooms available, yet won’t let you use the bathroom as a change room, but you also can’t try on anything at home as there’s no return or store credit options? Doesn’t make any sense for a clothing store, don’t go here
06 July 2022 19:51
You have to go often because merchandise can change. Last time I got out empty handed, but there is always a next time.
21 February 2022 20:26
Unprofessional Employee
I called to see if I can drop off a dresser.
Kristen answered the phone laughing and says “hello? “ I asked her if I can drop off the dresser and she said yes, I continued to ask if she is sure because of the size and if there are any restrictions. She assured me that I could drop it off. Arriving at Value Village, we could NOT drop off the dresser because of new Covid restrictions. This employee is unprofessional and gave the wrong information.
Wasted time and effort.
Please educate your young female employee Kristen.
19 February 2022 22:40
I literally just watched an employee save some 5 year olds life. She was playing around in the electronics section when a TV almost fell on her and suddenly a random employee literally came out of nowhere and picked up the TV. Low supply of men's shirts though
18 February 2022 5:01
Thrifting is always good fun when you have time and for this store they have good things for you to spend time treasure hunting!
10 February 2022 11:26
I used to be a big fan of Value Village but their prices are getting a little out of hand. Some you stuff is more expensive there than it is in dollar stores or Walmart. You have to know your prices.
31 January 2022 8:16
One of the BEST value villages out there my friends honestly truthfully this is one you don't want to miss! Priced appropriately, the finds here are bountiful from name brands designer brands all in excellent condition the place itself.is very tidy well kept staff friendly, I lost my Russian hat while shopping in store and it was found and given to me I mean the list goes on and on this place is a true gem and is outstanding on each and every level. Wanna hit up a value village in its truest meaning of a village of value go to THIS ONE.
15 January 2022 14:11
The staff are very helpful towards customer needs and are very courteous as well. The store is kept in good condition and is very clean. Covid standards are definitely followed here. It's good to know that you're using or reusing or recycling Goods which is good for the environment. I have found some collectibles in my time here which always makes me happy
28 December 2021 15:48
Cleanest Value Village I've ever been in. Selection for electronics stuff is better at the Fennel location.
05 November 2021 6:19
I always like going to Value Village, but this visit surprised me. I saw a pet bed which originally sold at Dollarama for $4, and here at Value Village it is selling for $5.99, go figure. New for $4 but at a thrift store second hand for $5.99!
How does this even happen, the card from Dollarama is still on it!
It's frustrating when prices are determined by the label and brand not the item or quality of a product. Some things are reasonable as a second hand item but some things are rediculously priced because of the store it was bought in as a new item! It's still second hand, not new anymore!
21 October 2021 16:56
Great selection of art. A little overpriced for a vv but they all seem pricey. Lots of good brands.
11 October 2021 5:39
Love this place, although the prices are steadily rising.some clothing g I can buy new as cheap I can buy it at VV
06 October 2021 5:32
Price is disgustingly high for DONATED cloths but good stuff, nice staff, but price gouging so prevalent. Value Village! Ppl come to your store because they're low INCOME, its horrible you sell a lot of cloths higher the Walmart! Shame!
19 September 2021 7:52
The staff are always friendly and helpful. Obviously the prices have gone up because of the pandemic and not being able to have their doors open. Signs or better supervision if at all possible for people who are not adhering to social distancing instructions. I will continue to visit this store though.
30 January 2021 22:50
Great customer service, always have new stuff! Great prices and I can most of the time find what I am looking for!
13 January 2021 22:07
Some stuff is a little pricey. Staff was running around and seemed too rushed to help out. The store is clean but some of the stock, not so much.
11 January 2021 3:02
Value village is a pretty good thrift store but prices are slowly but surely getting higher than they should be considering all is donated.
22 December 2020 7:29
There was a lineup outside the store because of the pandemic but that meant the store wasnt crowded and was easy to love around. Finding items was easy as items were nicely grouped together. The prices were good as we bought a few items including an older board game in great condition for $4.
25 November 2020 4:56
Among all other Value Village stores here I usually find the most quality items. Cleanliness is great, sporting department always has something interesting, choice of clothes is great and they are on high level of quality, kitchenware is also rich in good stock. Almost always there is some hidden gem that I find in this store.
19 November 2020 22:49
I was there a few days ago and noticed that a woman and her kids both over the age of 3 were walking around without face masks on. When I brought it up to an employee, they didn't do anything about it. I was there with my daughter who is only 2 months old. I was concerned for our health so I told the staff that I was leaving the store because of that issue. It's not the first time that has happened there. Very disappointed!
15 November 2020 21:10
My husband and I went to donate 2 tables today. A coffee table and a side table. I am around 90 lbs and I lifted the glass from the coffee table and the actual frame of the coffee table from the house to the car. Again, I'm 90 lbs, lifted both MYSELF.
We were told by a staff member standing in the doorway of the donation door, with 2 other staff members NOT standing 2 feet apart, that Value Village would not take the coffee table because it would require 2 people to carry it. There is more space between the coffee table than there was between the 3 staff members.
I will never donate to this location again. By violating the 2 feet apart rule in the donation area it undermines the "new Policy". If you have donations to make I recommended Habitat for Humanity instead. The staff are in fact 2 feet apart when working, and WILL take large pieces of furniture. They will even pick it up if you put it outside. This was a very disappointing experience, in large part, because of the hypocrisy.
10 November 2020 15:24
One thing I love about Value Village is the music. It's energetic enough and pleasant to enhance your shopping experience
The garments are in decent shape and if you like treasure hunting, there are plenty to be had. I always feel good doing my bit for the environment as well!
Can't beat it!
23 October 2020 19:58
No lineups. Easy to navigate. 30% off Seniors Day! My husband picked up 4 shirts and I one sweater. The cost was so low!
10 October 2020 23:52
Prices are ridiculously high for used clothing and accessories. I prefer Talize any day of the week over this place.
24 August 2020 2:22
I am concerned that Value Village does not have Senior Hours. They open at 11 am. This should be looked into as I know this is a very prosperous company and could afford it. Very disappointed.
21 August 2020 6:48
I was impressed with the number of patrons wearing face masks. I offered a home-made mask to a woman who wasn't wearing one, for free, but she turned it down, saying she tried one once and found she couldn't breathe with it on. Yes, it takes a couple of times wearing one to get used to it, but unless the mask is as thick as a pillow, you can quite easily breathe with one on for the sake of everyone's safety!
08 May 2020 12:39
Very clean and well kept. However, prices are getting a bit out of hand.especially considering they've removed the point system.
07 May 2020 21:52
My favourite Saturday outing. You just never know what you are going to find when thrifting. Someone actually purchased this - wonder what the lucky cat is going to think of his/her new sweater
10 April 2020 9:35
Although some of the prices seem high to me; compared to somewhere like Winners, the store in Ancaster seemed well organized, clean and customer service folks seemed pleasant. I happened to go a couple times within a few days and something I had my eye on the first time had already gone. Turnover and restocking appeared frequent with numerous staff around.
If you're choosey I think you can get some good deals.
05 April 2020 20:35
Since it's a newer location all products I've come across so far are in good shape and aren't totally outdated. It's clean, organized, and unique-in comparison to other Value Village's -with nice personal touches around the store.
26 March 2020 18:32
One should realize that this is a for profit thrift store and your dollars are not going to help the community, like SVDP or goodwill. Still it's better to reuse and recycle. The stores are always clean and nicely laid out. The employees take care in the appearance of the store and friendly as well. That can't be said for all non profit organizations.
18 March 2020 20:58
I love going just to look around but as for pricing like all value villages there are some way over priced or if you have any luck some decently priced things. I also love deal days lol
04 March 2020 9:04
It says Christmas staff is 75 % off. But when I come to the chashier I realised that some are not, such as Christmas tree ornament balls. (They tagthem as home something.) Be careful if you are shopping for items in sale.
03 March 2020 11:47
Kinda blah but it's new. Wait a bit for it to collect interesting goodies then it will be as fun as every other value village lol
19 October 2019 5:39
I went to the one in Ancaster. It's a richer area so better quality items. I found a 100 stitch Brother seeing machine that looked like it had never been used. The accessories and needles under the presser foot were still in sealed packages. I only paid $9.99.
23 September 2019 13:39
Too expensive now.ltd income.b4.it was a hood price 4 used clothing.would go several times in a month.now lucky if I go 2x's.: (
21 September 2019 5:08
It's not as thrifty as it used to be. They're clearing out at least two isles for Halloween stuff.ugggg!
01 September 2019 7:16
So good! Always s gamble as it depends what has been donated, bit I scored great deals on stuff I would never purchase new for myself. Ad well, recycling and repurposing clothes and household items helps to preserve our environment. Win/win for everyone!
12 August 2019 1:15
Has many items. Store was neat and tidy and laid out in an organized fashion it was easy to find the sections I wanted.
11 August 2019 13:20
Considering that they get most of their inventory for free I'm finding that the prices are now outrageous. I've bought new clothes for cheaper quite a few times.
09 July 2019 9:42
Product was lacking. Found many damaged items. Price stickers still on from $ store and prices higher?
24 June 2019 3:14
This is one of the better locations, very clean and bright. Located in a nicer area which reflects in the quality of items that they sell.
25 May 2019 15:04
I find it sad that the price's are going so high, and that from store to store they are so different for same items. Some items should never make the floor due to condition.
So please re-evaluate your pricing.
13 May 2019 7:27
Prices are ridiculous. They get these items for free, and more than half of the time they are charging more than the item costed new!
12 May 2019 20:19
This location is always so clean the everything is always priced fairly. I want to thank Alia for helping me out navigate the store and being so kind and helpful
11 May 2019 18:58
I have been looking for a typewriter for about a month on eBay and I just found an old typewriter here for $6! Seems in very good condition
23 April 2019 21:58
The store is great, however I wish management can ask their staff to be more professional looking. The other day my son went to the value Village in Ancaster and saw a girl who works there on the cash register with different colors in her hair and what is worse she had piercing all around her bottom lips, shower curtains rings in her ear and pierced nose.
My son was not able to sleep all night because of her scary appearance and it’s not even Halloween.
14 April 2019 6:07
Excellent place to buy a book.
I got a homeopathy book there, nearly new, for five dollars.
The same one at Indigo $30.
Friendly staff, big parking lot.
Cool place to find an oddity and definitely for books!
10 April 2019 13:05
I'm a big fan of VV. However was not impressed with their Ancaster location. I found the store charges more for certain merchandise than other VV locations. Is it because they are in a humungous building. So big some departments looked a wee space.
I found picture frames were at least twice the price as other stores. Some housewares and clothing too.
Better sharpen your pencil Ancaster VV. Your not the only shop around.
20 February 2019 7:31
Getting a little greedy as far as prices go.
Dropping discounts.surely a Billion dollar a year business corporation that donates very little to the non profit partners & gets so many donations for free could pass the savings onto their customers who supporters them every day. Quit nickel & diming the regular dealers.
