Getting frustrated with the ever increasing prices here.

Update: bought two Disney children's books in the same release series which were priced at 2.99 and 5.99, no one could tell me why there was such a price difference nor would they alter it to better reflect the actual book. Way too expensive.

However, staff were able to properly refund me for the pot that broke as I was leaving the store, because I had to hold it by the handle without a cart and the handle simply fell right off it. A nice surprise, as typically they have no real refund policy

What can I say? I always find great things at Value Village. In my family, we actually put a twist on the name, making it sound like a high-end boutique, "Villeux Villages", the g is soft
It's like a treasure hunt. It takes some time but is totally worth it. I usually have the best luck at this Waterdown location and the newer one in Ancaster ON. Happy hunting!

My favourite Value Village.it's clean and very organized.people complain that the prices are higher than other thrift stores.to me the quality *not buying something I could buy at Walmart. I have bought top of the line clothes, gifts, dishes and the book section is incredible.

I will always be a fan and shopper of Value Village but they do seem to be more money grabbey then ever. Especially there showcase items, I find to be overpriced when comparing to other stores. That being said, it is hit and miss and sometimes you can find a sweet deal. Cheers
20 November 2023 2:50
Way more expensive than other Value Village branches I've visited. Thumbs down on the pricing. I really wish that they would adopt the same return policy as Habitat for Humanity Restore, where electronics can be returned 7 days after purchase.
26 May 2023 15:30
Always good deals that you're not looking for but you buy them anyway because they're a good deal.
06 February 2023 16:06
Bought more stylish cosy fall/winter sweater 'finds' than I thought I would and got 30% off. I love VV.
24 January 2023 21:26
Went and looked at the old radio stuff to see if I could find a decent tape player. Saw this guy roaming around the back corner. Staff was notified, unfortunately if there's one.there's more.
06 December 2022 10:31
Best value village. Alot of the women's clothes have original tags on still and it's the cleanest VV around!
14 October 2022 6:41
Hands down the worst value village I've been to. The selection sucks, everything worthwhile is behind the showcase and the staff take forever to get there to pick out what you want and show you, if you want it they make you pay right away even if you're not done shopping.

I bought a vintage ceramic ashtray and was at the cashier when I noticed it had a large Crack in it. The cashier had just rung it in when I noticed it. The manager was there and refused to let me return it stating the price reflected the, which was a lie. So she basically was telling me that they knew the item was cracked and put it on the shelf anyways.
A terrible business practice I won't shop there again, and won't donate there ever again, and I donate a lot. I will take all of my donations to the Grimsby Benevolent store, they are a real non profit store and all of the proceeds there go to their food bank. Items are a lot cheaper at the Grimsby store less than half the price. So look over your items carefully before you buy because I have noticed a lot of broken items on their shelves. VV has gotten really greedy as is loosing a lot of their customers as a result.

I think thrifting is fun.it is a win win for me, my family, the environment.everything is well organized and I especially love seniors day!
02 September 2022 2:42
So clean, so organized and so easy to find things! Angela is our FAVOURITE cashier! She loves her job & you can tell! She's friendly and upbeat! The stock and the quality of the clothes is incredible! We drive almost an hour to this store because we have such a better experience than our local store! Angela deserves recognition for her hard work and dedication! She is a large part of the reason we keep returning and will CONTINUE to return!
18 August 2022 13:31
Overpriced for 2nd hand. Tiny tank tops cost $9.99? You can buy a new one with that kind of money.
11 August 2022 5:08
I’ve found over the last few years prices have really increased. Very disappointed that change rooms have not returned since restrictions have been lifted. I have more than once brought a garment home only to find it doesn’t fit. Then I haven’t been able to get back in time before the window closes for an exchange. Come on Value Village. Give us some change rooms. All other stores have them.
25 April 2022 14:36
Prices are getting a a little too expensive for a second hand store that receives all its merchandise for free.
13 April 2022 11:45
Good store.has many things. It has atleast 40000 items. Maybe 45000 or so. I'd be happy to go here some days and say hello to all the wonderful books and games and even t-shirts and pants. Nice ceiling and structure to the building
01 April 2022 6:35
Since they're "For Profit" now.the prices are NOT reasonable for Gently used. I'll support a NOT FOR PROFIT instead.
19 March 2022 0:46
I have to laugh that name brand clothes sell for same price as name brand on sale. I use to go weekly no more. Too costly. Shame as so many of us need deals but none to be found. Used clothes more expensive then retail price.
16 February 2022 3:18
The Value Village in Waterdown is one of the best around. You can find a lot of high quality stuff without the high prices other Value Villages charge just because it's brand name. On one visit I found 48 Paderno plates and bowls for $25!
06 February 2022 7:25
One of the better VV but still pricing is all over the place and the electrical testing area is cluttered with defective items that I see get returned to shelves.
04 February 2022 19:27
I enjoy a good bargain and it's fun going on a treasure hunt through the aisles.

Only gripes are that they don't strictly enforce the masking mandate once people enter the store and sometimes the pricing can seem completely off on some items.
02 February 2022 20:32
They removed the change rooms so you can't try on any clothes you wanna buy the prices are too high not sure how low income people can possibly shop there and get a deal?
10 January 2022 16:29
The pricers who work here are completely out to lunch. An example is items from Dollarama that cost less brand new! Pots you can purchase new on Amazon for same price etc etc
15 November 2021 6:17
This place is wonderful for finding treasures of all sorts, from lamps, coffee tables, kitchen ware, linens, etc.all the way to clothing, footwear, toys, books, knick knacks, etc. The store is well organized and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Check this place out, but be prepared to lose track of time while finding your treasures!
04 November 2021 14:12
Nice employees, pretty peaceful during the time we went. A few decent finds but otherwise it's an okay location. I would come back in the future
12 October 2021 17:51
Earlier today I was at Value Village in Waterdown with a friend of mine. She suddenly felt very faint and thought she was going to pass out. She is 4 months pregnant so I was very worried. I was luckily able to find her a chair and then went in search of an employee to help me. I found the Manager Jack. I explained what was happening and he immediately went into action. He ran to the cafeteria and brought her a bottle of cold water and then took a small towel off one the racks and brought it back to us having already soaked it in cold water to place on the back of her neck. He was so kind and so helpful. After a while she felt so much better and we were able to finish our shopping trip. You went over and above your expectations today Jack and gave us incredible customer service. Thank you so much!
06 October 2021 19:20
It's a perfect place. The store provides almost every thing on 50 to 70 pct discount on every product. However, you have to check the functionality of the product before buying it. I have bought too many things like a bicycle, fridge, and electronic stuff, all are working perfectly fine.
06 September 2021 23:11
Great finds! Michal Kors watch for my elderly mother was only $14.99 still had the sticker on it
27 August 2021 10:53
One of the bigger stores. Lots of good quality things and a very large selection of clothing and shoes for the whole family. I usually visit a few times a week as items are constantly being put out. Love that they have extended hours so when you are looking for a new to you treasure just jump in the car and go.
02 February 2021 10:03
To expensive for second hand. They forget it's a donation place where people who can't afford new clothes come. They sale the same price as Walmart or old navy or gap.
17 May 2020 21:43
Very nice employees. Not happy they are pricing the items so high for a nonprofit organization. Living on 14,000 a year l now have to shop there only on seniors day or the monthly 50% off day.

Most Embarrassing Experience Ever!
Done with Value Village!

I am from Dundas but on Friday (Valentines Day) I travelled to Scarborough to pick up my new car. My wife suggested I pick her up some books for Valentines Day, so I shopped at the Scarborough Value Village Store. Over the years I have donated thousands of dollars worth of goods to the Waterdown Value Village Store. On Valentines Day, the Scarborough Value Village Store was announcing over the PA that if you spent $30 they would give you a $5 credit for your next purchase. I didn't plan on spending $30- just purchase some books, but when I got to the the teller, she said my bill came to $23 and suggested I spend more in order to get the $5 credit. So I went back and picked up a few more books. My bill then came to $34 and she gave me a receipt. She said just hold onto your receipt and show it next time you are in Value Village for a $5 credit. The teller did this for the customer in front of me as well.

Today I went to the Waterdown Value Village. I usually go there to donate not shop, but I thought I would pick up some track pants since I had the $5 credit. Upon checking out the bill came to $24 and I presented my receipt for the $5 credit. Employee told me that there must be a coupon attached to the receipt. I shared my story that the teller in Scarborough said I only needed to show the receipt. She then called the Manager (Marissa) who then repeated that there must be a coupon with the receipt. I once again shared that the Scarborough teller told me I only needed the receipt. She said let me check and went to a room in the back of the store. There were a lineup of people now at the cashier looking at me like I was some kind of cheep wad. The manager returned and said that the $5 credit deal was for the 13th and not the 14th and the Scarborough store should not have been announcing it and encouraging it on Feb. 14th. I shared that many people were purchasing that day and being told they had a $5 credit. She said she would call Scarborough and let them know they made a mistake.
By now there were at least 10 people waiting in line behind me. Cashier shared that the manager would not honour the $5 credit. How embarrassing. I left the store without my purchases, just could not wait to get out of that store.
I will not shop at Value Village in the future and I will certainly not donate to them. There are many other stores that will take my goods that I am sure treat their customers with much more respect.
17 April 2020 11:58
Big store, clean floors and clothes as well. It's located in a nicer part of town so the clothes seem to be better than other locations. Found some goodies. I'll definitely be back!
05 April 2020 15:18
Prices are getting a bit out of hand at this location. You can definitely find some good stuff here though.
03 April 2020 4:03
They need to severely lower prices.they are getting greedy.at garage sales, these same clothes would go for a few bucks each.lower the prices.getting out of line.
23 March 2020 7:04
Prices are a bit expensive but if you know how to look, you will find some great prices! Staff at this location are the nicest i have ever seen! Everytime i come in i am greeted with a smile and they remember me each time i come!
23 March 2020 6:08
Nobody saw when I donated. When ask about coupon associat tell to me Iam laye. No coupon. I was so abset. Very bad customer service. I get stress.
20 March 2020 8:01
Went there for some floral shirts for a trip to Cuba, found a great selection and they even honoured an expired coupon I had.
18 March 2020 10:38
This Value Village has a great book selection.it's clean and bright and organized. Friendly and helpful staff.
29 February 2020 11:11
The store is clean and the staff is helpful. But unfortunately the pricing system is weird. Some things are priced right and others are way off. Sometimes I think they just pull prices out of a hat.
29 February 2020 9:07
This is a great store, lots of items to choose from.
The only thing I don't like is their pricing i.e a gap shirt costs more than a George shirt! Certain brand name clothes are higher priced, these are still used clothes and should be priced according to the item not the brand name! Especially when you can buy the items new in a lot of cases for a couple of dollars more!
27 February 2020 16:59
Not too bad, smells better than most value villages. Prices like every value village are comparable to Walmart. This one's worth a look
20 February 2020 8:16
Getting too pricey considering its all donated. I know its NOT a non profit but lots of things here can be bought new for the same or not much more!
13 February 2020 16:46
Store is always clean and staff nice. Pricing is crazy for a store that's lines its racks with merchandise it got for free. I couldn't find a pair of shoes under $13!
05 January 2020 5:03
No matter where it is I love exploring in any Value Village store. It's a treasure hunt everytime. Do not even mind if i come out with nothing. Half the fun is the hunt. Worth knowing that they put something new out there on their shelves everyday.
10 June 2019 12:16
Great place to find work clothes and discoveries a trench from banana republic for 29 retailed at 300
03 June 2019 18:56
A store with a good selection of clothing and shoes, lots of brand names, with friendly and helpful staff.
23 May 2019 7:04
Good finds you need to check back from to time to time
The prices are getting to be to high for some products on some items higher then retail
18 May 2019 16:32
I often drop off my good unwanted stuff here, I find the staff very friendly outgoing and helpful, they unload my van immediately on arrival often waiting for me to pull up. I like that very much.all the staff are wonderful but Spencer was my helper at my last drop off THANK YOU VERY MUCH YOU ARE APPRECIATED.
13 April 2019 0:26
Always a bargain to be found at this location. Store was very organized and the staff were very friendly! Highly recommended!
01 March 2019 16:05
I like value village. People say their prices are high now but I don't see it. I still find amazing deals there all day long!
22 February 2019 6:12
Always a nifty place to pop into and sometimes you can get a real steal of a deal. Books are always a go to but sometimes you can get brand name new clothes that people have donated. Why not take advantage and give back to the community.
26 January 2019 4:00
Everyone loves a hunt! From quirky items to fashion you are going to find it here. Be aware of prices. Some items are from the dollar store and marked five dollars. Examine items closely and try all clothing on. Good selection of books and small items bagged. Make sure you have time to browse.
14 January 2019 11:40
The store was clean and had a nice lay out. The pricing was odd. It's like some of it they knew how to price and other items they way over priced. Found some decently priced clothing but some were the same price as new. They also had some other items that were priced as if they were brand new. I think they just need to hire people that know their prices haha.
