Possibly the worst grocery store In the area. Rude staff, ridiculous prices and terrible food quality.

6 years ago it was the best grocery in town. 6 years ago they were the only grocery in town. Now, Walmart & Food Basics have added balance & healthy competition, for which I'm grateful.

A big community supporter. Wide variety of fresh products with fair to good prices & excellent customer service.

Bought a bag of Halo oranges and they are so unripe it is bad. Would return them but I did not get a receipt. Never have I ever seen Halos this bad.

December 22 2022. The self checkouts here have made me travel out of town to shop. Line ups are ridiculous!

Prices are super expensive.
Customer service was awful.
I will drive elsewhere to get groceries.

Coming from a big city I went looking for a grocery store and at a first go this became my regular grocery store. Good quality groceries. Bakery is good too. The seafood section is excellent. You get what you want and if they don’t have it they will take your order. I use to place order for clams and they would order if not available. Fresh shrimps, salmon, tilapia, mussels, lobster, crab are available as well. Clean store. I read comments about it being expensive but I thought it was ok. Helpful staff as well. Keep it up.

Love this store, always stocked and they carry my favorite ice-cream (enlightened). Staff are friendly and store is very clean.

Staff cannot follow store policies from visit to visit which caused headaches for both my mother and myself. Staff gave us attitude as well. Not very happy with our 2 visits to the store.

Prices are 15 to 20% higher than Walmart for the same items. Since the Vanderwerfs took over prices are noticeably higher especially at the food counter and deli.

Good produce, products, and service. Independent is certainly pricier when compared to discount food chains.

Some staff seem quite rude to visitors, being quite aggressive in addressing seniors who may not know your rules about lineups etc.
This happened to 2 seniors yesterday morning infront of a group of people, both went straight to #8 checkout and were told to get to the back of the line by your staff, even though she was told they had mobility issues, she didn't care! Is this your policy?

Was sure I'd find my farmers market oatmeal raisin cookies there, but made the mistake of referring to them as PC, so bakery person was only able to refer me to the cookie aisle. A courteous I don't know what you're talking about, is better than a rude response, or no response at all. Cooki was cookieless Two stars are better than no stars at all.

Like a smaller version of Zehrs. Good selection and friendly staff. 4 stats because they close way too early everyday and we have to go to Walmart to get grocery because of that.

Really muffed our click and collect today. 1 apple? No hamburger buns and what are fruit sparkles? We got 5 packages and we didn't order any.we don't even know what they are! Thankfully, they didn't show up on our bill

Not bad store with quality products but some of the cashiers are incredibly rude. After being instructed by the cashier to begin placing my items on the belt. The cashier next door comes behind me (within my 6' space) and says thank you for not social distancing! Unbelievable! I will stick to food land in Southampton from now on

A little pricey but amazing products, you can find speciality items which are hard to find in our area. Excellent service.

RECENT REVIEW: This stores listens to Customer requests and really adopt. They have lots of International grocery products, Organic produce etc, which is very helpful for the residents of Port Elgin. Love to visit this stores.

Near every time I have to go here I can find a mistake with my bill. Mostly the price on the shelf is lower than what I pay at the checkout. Today they added a bottle of wine I never bought. Really? Do I need to be a detective while buying groceries? I will increase my efforts not to go shopping at this store.

Not a bad store, but a little expensive. Love the beer selection but hate having to find a specific check out to purchase the beer, which usually has the longest line.

Really bad setup in the store for cashing out during Covid, and as per usual, their prices are so terribly inflated its a wonder anybody can afford to shop there. Only stopped in for booze as the liquor store was closed

Such a bad experience today we will not be back! When you arrive you have to touch the same bottle and paper towel that everyone else uses to clean your own shopping cart.not the best idea during a pandemic. Not one cashier was wearing a mask.ok fine but be sanitary at least. We had a cashier yelling over to another to finish a conversation she rubbered her eyes and nose while checking us out. While she was waiting for payment to go through she proceeded to put her bracelet in her mouth. Rowland's independent is cheap and is putting the health of others at risk. Foodland just down the road has all employees wearing a mask and Everything was done properly I would recommend going there

Great grocery store, most employees very helpful, except guy in the beer and wine section. He was not helpful, made me feel I was bothering him, was no, answers were short and curt, was disappointed having a liquor section in grocery is very convenient, otherwise store is great

Pretty top notch grocery store but it is very hard to get excited about a grocery store. Sorry!

It’s always a pleasure to shop here when we visit Port Elgin. The variety of products and some competitive pricing are great!

It's the main grocery store for Port Elgin that is conveniently located for both Port and South. It's prices may be slightly higher than the Walmart at the other end of town but has a greater selection I believe. Good hours, open late. Lots of parking. Has a gas bar.

The only issue is that every time I go there I run into so many people that I know and then My 15 minute shopping trip turns into a 1 hour shopping trip. So great venue for a meet and greet

I just wanted to give a public shoutout to Laura at the pharmacy. She is the best pharmacist I have encountered anywhere, and is the main reason I use your pharmacy. She always takes the time to properly explain new medications and is extremely knowledgable and personable. I hope that she is recognized as a very valuable member of your team. Thanks again Laura! Oh ya, the convenience of shopping while you wait for a script to be filled is pretty sweet too.

Great selection of grocery items, always find what l need. Has a Joe Fresh, wine and beer items also a deli and seafood bar. A great one stop shop very clean with friendly staff.

Store clean and staff helpful. Produce quality has been questionable recently. Cashiers not always good with packing reusable bags. Good overall but always room for improvement.

It is a good store in a great place. They do a great job making sure that everything g is good and available.

Pricey as is most supermarket, s. They sell wine. Super friendly staff. Vegetable s looked really good. Yes the parking is free.
