This place used to be amazing (Dr. DeRose was awesome). To be clear: the staff is awesome.

Once VCA took this place over, the quality has deteriorated.

1. They book appointments for you at strange times during the day-without consent; you have to cancel appointments that you have never booked.

2. They will not give basic medications without a physical-even though there is no guideline for that. I should expand on this. All we needed was medication for ticks and heartworm. They said one of my dogs needed a physical first. I understand that. Here is the problem. They told us that we should never bring our dog in without a stress reduction drug regime two years ago. We said, "okay but you told use we needed to put our dog on this regime first? " They said, "we can handle it. "

Inconsistency in the medical profession scares the hell out of me.

We needed help yesterday with one of our dogs. We were given a lecture on giving one pain medication for one dog to our other dog (my wife is a doctor and she assured me this is nonsense-more on this in a couple lines).

Then the doctor proceeded to lecture my wife about the stresses of Covid-19.

It is a bit much, considering my wife was one of the first front-line medical personnel on the Covid-19 floor.

In short, when we needed them they did not help. We found an animal hospital that did.

I will not go to any clinic associated with VCA in the future.

Archibald, my year and a half old poodle, loves VCA! Every time, I have questions, the vets are always very clear and precise. His tail does not stop wagging when he visits the vet! It's too bad we are moving in the fall or he would still be going there! Highly recommend the junior paw VCA care package! Has saved me so much money this year. We love the VCA Cachet Village Staff!

Absolutely disappointed with how we got treated after 10+ years. Please don't be late as Dr. Wu will not see you even she knew my dog was in a bad shape! Never been there for us when we needed them the most! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!

I got introduced this place from a friend 12 years ago and been with then since then. Dr. DeRose and the whole team is awesome, very caring and professional. They take good care of my fur baby and always take time to explain and give professional advices. I have never had any issues with this place, I don’t know why it takes me so long to write a good review but I wanted to thank everyone in Cachet Village Animal Hospital! You guys are awesome, keep up the good work!

Incredibly disappointed in Cachet Village Animal Hospital as a client for 10+ years. This week, my family and I tried to place an order for Hill's Metabolic Feline food for our 18 year old cat, something we have been purchasing from this vet clinic every month for 10+ years. However, this time Dr. Eve Cheung refused to let my family purchase the food. She arbitrarily decided that because my cat hasn't been seen for a checkup in recent years he can no longer be prescribed this food. As a result, my cat will no longer have access to the food that keeps him healthy.

Not only was Dr. Cheung uncompassionate, she was unreasonable and unprofessional. First, we were given no warning or notice that our cat would be cut off from his food if he was not seen for a checkup. Second, she gave no other feasible alternatives. She expected us to either bring in our cat for a checkup or be seen by the mobile vet. Normally, this would be reasonable, but during the deadliest PANDEMIC of the past century? She either lacks compassion or common sense, or both. Finally, she was not willing to find a compromise. She was not willing to allow my cat to at least have some of his food to tie him over to a time where it would be more reasonable to have a checkup-she blatantly cut him off and offered no alternative (When we asked her, she was not able to tell us any other cat food we could buy).

In summary, Dr. Cheung and Cachet Village Animal Hospital prioritize profits over the health and well-being of pets. Simply put, she was willing to cut off my 18 year old cat from his prescription food at the height of the pandemic. Sure, small businesses everywhere are hurting right now, but that is never an excuse to lower your professional standards, coerce your clients into booking appointments, and harm our pets in the process.

I do not even know where to begin about how upset my family and I are about the diagnosis and treatments given to my dog. We trusted the vet's professional opinion, but turns out she exaggerated my dog's symptoms and gave my dog unnecessary meds, which had severe side effects. They did not think to mention or warn us about the side effects. Our dog was not getting better, and we continued to bring our dog to this clinic. We were eventually led to believe that our dog was very ill cause he was displaying various symptoms (which we later found out were just the side effects of the meds they prescribed to my dog).
It got to a point where we decided to get a second opinion and that's when it cleared up that my dog only had one initial issue, which needed some simple meds and cage rest. The rest was unrelated, non-issues. My family would probably still be in the dark if we hadn't brought our dog to another place cause we were so desperate.
Honestly, horrible experience. Wouldn't wish this on any other dogs and families.

My dog Bobby has been Cachet’s patient for nearly 10 years. He has bladder stones since he was younger. Dr DeRose did bladder surgeries for him twice to clean the stones. Dr DeRose is very professional and care about Bobby. But later Bobby developed heart disease. He has been well taken care of by Dr Wu. She was patient and very helpful. Especially after Bobby has his first congestive heart failure and was recovered. Dr Wu always gave professional advice and honest comments on Bobby’s health conditions. She definitely loves dogs and cares about them. She is also very considerate. Her reactions are so fast. I guess she is a very smart person. But Bobby was not eating and went to the emergency hospital again. Dr Wu was very helpful in accessing his conditions and gave me advice. Unfortunately, we need to make a decision to euthanize
Bobby. Again, Dr Wu was very considerate and helpful to do the euthanasia. She adjusted her schedule too. Bobby died peacefully. Well, this is so important to us that he died in no pain. From what I saw, he has no pain, heart stopped pumping gradually. This was the last thing I could make sure of.

The clinic is also very helpful through all these years. Bobby has a lot of medications. Whenever I called for a refill, I always got them the next day. Besides, prescription food are always available, if not, would be available the next day and the staff have never made a mistake. I want to give my special thanks to the staff there too, especially the manager Linda, Laura and Tracy. They are very nice and kind to me and Bobby. Me and Bobby were welcomed and cared in every visit. Thank you very much! On the other hand, the fees, surgery fees, blood tests, and the price of the prescription food, and other supplies are very reasonable. I’ll get a new dog later, I think. I’ll come back to the clinic.

Have been seeing Dr. Danny for about 5 years now, but the service isnt the same once they became affiliated with VCA. Constant attempts to hard sell products and services seem to be the agenda now. Really not interested in using them any longer.anyone have any recommendations?

Disappointed.

Professional and personable service - for regular care as well as critical / chronic issues. I'd highly recommend this vet clinic for all who want quality service. I've seen this clinic since it opened and they've only grown in their offerings and service overtime! Laser surgery, expertise dental care and long hours to meet your needs (to name a few).

My dog developed a sudden onset of pancreatitis and was throwing up severely without cause. Throughout the whole process & having to keep her overnight - every member of staff checked in and gave me updates, spoke to my level of understanding and provided a thorough follow up. While my dog is better now - it's comforting to have a vet and veterinary staff you can rely on for trustworthy service.
Dr. DeRose has a strong aptitude in dental care speciality which is critical for pet health - there are few vets who have that expertise in Ontario.
Thanks Dr. DeRose + team! I wouldn't take Shiloh anywhere else.

*INSERT WEBSTER'S DEFINITION OF INCOMPETENT HERE *
Our dog has been coming here for five years, we decided to take her to another vet as they during an infection they recommended she change her diet. The food they had recommended was made of chicken, which they so proudly told us before she was allergic to during prior visits. The infection lasted 2 months and we finally had enough! We brought our beloved dog to another vet and within 3 days she was feeling like herself again!

I strongly believe their mission statement is: "Let's try this, and see how it goes. "

Also, she had a tumour on her stomach that they did not notice- for five years!

Dr. DeRose was able to quickly take me in to check my puppy's teeth issues, he is very knowledgeable and explained everything to us so we understood. I highly recommend Dr. Derose.

Both my baby dogs are registered to this hospital and they have been treated well whenever we come here. Love Dr. Derose!
