I took a stray cat there to get checked for a microchip. They did so at no charge. Great place

Was not impressed with the service here. I came in for the free welcome exam after adopting my puppy.

They had me bring in a stool sample and only told me at the end of the exam that I would have to pay a fee to have it tested. Had I known, I wouldn't have kept a bag of poop in my fridge all day. He was tested for a bunch of stuff before I adopted him, so I didn't feel it was necessary at this point.

My puppy is nervous of strangers. I was doing my best to work him through this, but also we had only had him about a month and he was about 7 months old at the time. I didn't feel like she did a good job with him at all. She immediately grabbed at his ears. She could tell he was fearful but she kept pushing him beyond his comfort. She didn't seem to have any experience with reactive dogs. I've since been to other vets where they did a great job dealing this while also being able to inspect what they needed to. This vet just seemed to grab at him and when he didn't cooperate, she gave up. In the end he didn't really get checked for anything at this exam.

She asked me questions that I had already answered on the paperwork and spoke extremely fast which made it hard to follow what she was saying, especially since I was feeling flustered with how the exam was going. She also made a few comments about his behaviour that made me feel like a bad pet owner. Definitely didn't feel supported here, especially as a newbie.

I would have expected at a welcome exam that the vet would also take some time to discuss with me some things that I should expect as a new pet owner (medical concerns for that breed, what types of health issues to look for, when he's due for his next vaccines, etc.) But nothing of the sort. If they use this free exam as a way to entice new clients to join their clinic, they definitely failed with me.

I have nothing but praise for Lexington Rd. Animal Hospital. They have been taking care of my cat since she was a little furball and they always treat her like royalty. The staff are amazing, they are friendly, helpful and attentive. The veterinarians are outstanding, they are very skilled and thorough. They offer a wide range of services, from wellness and preventive care to dental and surgical care. They also have grooming and boarding services that are very convenient and comfortable. I joined their VCA Canada CareClub, which is a great wellness plan that covers all her basic needs and gives me unlimited exams and live chat with a vet professional. It also saved me money on her spay surgery and microchipping. I recently moved to Mississauga and I haven’t been able to find a vet like them. I miss them a lot and I appreciate everything they did for my cat and me.

Zeus, a gentle, timid, handsome Bernese mountain dog, was at 13, well beyond the years of the average Bernese. Unable to walk or stand or even sit up, it was time for Zeus to retire to his mountain top. The staff at Lexington were unexpectedly compassionate with Zeus and the five of us, Zeus's loved ones. The staff catered to our wishes, requesting when to proceed, requesting of any of our personal desires of Zeus's care in his final moments. All tenderness and compassion!
