My cat had (has) severe dental issues and a possible growth in his mouth. The Tech Kim in Oshawa was extraordinary; being very patient and understanding giving alot of info. They were able to get Ollie into surgery. Dr. Pollock calling with concerns and explanations during the procedure. Very caring afterwards. We now wait for biopsy results. The staff there are awesome. Only criticism is they are above priced compared with the Vets in the area but I felt my cat was in the best of hands and I wasn't about to go bargain hunting concerning my furbaby!

Staff, vet technicians and Lady Vet has always been kind and caring taking the best care of your animals excpecially my cat Mouse. Understanding if you are on a fixed income and find ways to help your critters. Also they work hard to make Mouse is well cared for and calls are made to see how Mouse is doing. They also work with the Farely Foundation. I couldn't ask for a better Vet for Mouse. Thank you kindly for your time and care. We will be seeing you soon again. ️️

Caring knowledgeable staff. Great follow up about your animals and the vets are well worth the money for care and peace of mind

I was going to this clinic for over 12 years. We had a dog with chronic dental issues over the that time. Everytime we went in for dental work prices increased. I understand prices go up because costs go up but when it got to 2200 dollars I went and ask for another opinion. Went to my mother's vet clinic which she has used for 15 years with her dog and the price was half. I was blown away. I couldn't believe I was getting taken to the cleaners. I guess they're love for money out weights they're love for pets. I understand it's a business and everyone must profit but taken advantage of people is not right. The vet I'm using now also found more bladder stones. We had done that surgery with VCA a year ago. That bill was $5000. Our new vet felt so bad because they had done the dental surgery 2 weeks ago gave me a bill of $1100. That shows how much VCA are over billing families. I wouldn't go there unless you like throwing money away.

The entire staff at VCA Oshawa Animal hospital truly care about the health of the animals they care for. After trying several vets closer to home we still make the drive back for the special care they get here.

Was not too happy with my experience. My dog was really sick and needed an uncommon anti biotic. I had called around to several pharmacies and other vets to look for it. Most were understanding and empathetic.
This vet was not. They refused to even listen to my inquiry. Wouldn't even let me finish and told me "If you aren't a client we can't help you. We are not a pharmacy! "
Was a great way to show your love for animals, customer service, and Christmas spirit. This makes me feel this vet is only out to make money and just wants the extra revenue from making us pay for an exam fee without even knowing if they have the right antibiotic in stock or not.

No problem with their service. The price way too much. Go somewhere else to get the same for way less. Called other vets afterwards. Bunch of animal lovers getting paid very well or very low.and the vca owners over charging "wealthy pet owners"

Great facility, clean and modern. Cindy and her team take great care with your pets especially in most difficult times.

First time clients: we had a little scare with one of our older pups and the clinic was able to see us the same day. We were given excellent care and answered all our questions in a friendly and professional manner. The clinic is clean and followed COVID protocols. Prices were not too bad as well. Needless to say, our pup is feeling better and we can sleep easier. Thank you Oshawa Animal hospital. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff. Expensive when compared to other vets. They charged 75$ for dog catheterization while just down the road, other vet charging 43$ so won't be going back.
Clean facility. Easy parking.

My dog was having an allergic reaction and they were so accommodating and squeezed me in quickly. Fast, friendly and caring. I will certainly be back.
28 August 2021 8:01
Friendly staff reasonable prices. Gave 4 because with other vet's I've been able to accompany my dog during the examinations etc.here they had me wait in a separate room. Not a big deal but I like to be with my little guy when he's scared

Just went to this vet hospital and found them very knowledgeable, understanding of the options for my cat and caring. I will be taking my cat back next week for a serious eye surgery and hope everything goes well and will add years onto his life.

I give one Star because I feel I was taken advantage of.
I dealt with this Clinic because they are Associated with the Farley Foundation.
I’m a Senior on a fixed income.which means I can’t not afford. HIGH VET BILLS.
I paid 148.00$ for the Initial Visit (which I could not afford).
My senior pet left there still ailing from her issue.
No help from The Farley Foundation.

I still needed Antibiotics, Pain Medication, and possible Surgery.
3,000 Vet Bill I can’t afford.
Broken Hearted over my Senior Girl.

I have never felt so at ease at a vet hospital. The staff are all very kind. They answer ALL of my questions and I never feel rushed or like I'm asking dumb questions. They treat my cat with care and kindness which, that alone, puts me at ease.
14 June 2021 15:34
I have on multiple occasions called them with an emergency/needing urgent care and they have accommodated me without question. They genuinely care for the animals they treat, and only do what's best for you and your pet. I have seen how pleasant, compassionate, and friendly they are first hand and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality care for their pet.

I bought food from them 2 months ago and was told they would have to call my regular vet to confirm the food I was ordering with my vet. There was no issues THIS time and I picked up the food and was happy about it. 2 months later I was told they needed to call my vet to confirm the food order and supplements as they were by prescription only. I explained they called my vet last time and asked if this would have to happen every time I bought food as this is not just an incovience to me but also to my vet if this will have to happen every time I buy food.
She said she had no history of me buying food there. I said I did, Two months ago. After a bit she said oh its here on our old system and we are now using a new system so it wasn't documented.
She said she saw food was bought but there was no history of them calling my vet to confirm so they would have to do that this time for sure. I told her to go ahead. She said I could bring my cat in for an exam instead if that was better.so pay for a vet exam for my cat, stress out my cat with an unnecessary exam to be able to buy food to feed my cats? NO!
So they called my vet and said they needed a FULL medical history sent to them in order for me to buy food from them. WHY?
I called to cancel my order and find another place to get the food since none of the food or supplements I requested required a prescription and it is all over the counter products according to my family vet. So VCA is just looking to make $$$$$$$$ at a massive inconvience to me, my family vet and potentially my cats if I decided to being them in for the exam that was not needed.
Another girl called me FULLof attitude and sounding very defensive and ready for a fight. I told her I want to cancel my order and would like to be refunded. She snapped that they don't keep credit card information on hand and that she would cancel my order.
This place is a circus of made up rules and regulations to get your money. I will never go back here ever.

Early this year my family and I made the seemingly impossible decision to put our Sadie to rest. She was a 13+ year old Retriever, so she had a great, long life. That said, the decision was even more frustrating given the cost of doing so with this Vet. I am not ignorant to the costs associated to hiring good help, but lets be honest, putting a dog to sleep and looking after cremation should not cost $1300. I don't care how compassionate your highly paid staff are.
Two weeks later my male retriever, Jake, started showing signs of discomfort in his left front leg. He would barely put any weight on it whatsoever, so we made him an appointment. With the first visit over with and $400 gone we had no answers whatsoever, except that in order to safely administer an anti-inflammatory they were going to have to test his pee to ensure his vital organs could handle it. Made sense to me so I approved the first $125 test. The results were ok but not conclusive so there was another test to be done at a cost of $225 to which I also approved. Those results come back inconclusive also, but guess what? There is another test we can do for an additional $190 or something. I took my chances with the medication without proceeding with another costly test, and he has just now finished the scrip of anti-inflammatories that were prescribed to him two weeks ago. I am disappointed to report that after close to $800 and several weeks of Jake in pain, he is absolutely 100% no better than he was the day we took him in. So please spare me the "the best Vets get paid what their worth" BS. If they were worth the money I paid for Jake they would be able to tell me what's wrong with him. And no, this hospital was not responsible for Sadie living until the late age of 14, as we are relatively new clients after Taunton Road Hospital moved and tripled their prices.
I don't know who's kid I am assisting through college there, but I wish them the best of luck!

Update: After all the delays and spent money with Oshawa Animal Hospital, I decided to take Jake to a different Vet, and within two days and only $400 I was told Jake was full of cancer. He was likely hiding the pain while he knew his sister was sick, and when she finally didn't come home he decided it was his turn. I just have a hard time believing that a Vet you pay a little more to benefit from, knowledge and experience wise, was not able to tell me about the possibility of cancer after a physical inspection, blood work and several urine tests. Not that Jake's recent health issues are the fault of OAH, but I truly feel they could have done a much better job caring for him, and felt obligated to post this in hopes of helping people understand the notion of "you get what you pay for" is not always true. Now I say goodbye to my Jake a mere 7 weeks after saying goodbye to his sister Sadie.

Very kind and informative vet's that will take your call at any time if you have questions. It makes such a difference when everyone there is happy and friendly. They have been taking amazing care of my dog with cancer. Highly recommend

Very kind personal it is what they do be kind to them, I know you can pay through the nose so. Or anyone with a pet be prepared for what decision you may have to make,

Excellent customer service at the vet office. Always trust this vet with my 2 dogs. Fairly pricey, but the caring atmosphere is worth it in my opinion.
05 October 2020 3:58
I love this vet office. They have very safe covid measures in place and all the staff care so much about the animals you bring in. We have never had a bad experience here.
25 September 2020 15:15
Refused to let my wife bring our dog there because she is a nurse and they “need to protect themselves from her”. Meanwhile she goes into work on the front lines everyday because it’s her job.
02 July 2020 15:56
Our puppy had a cough and seemed very uncomfortable. After expressing our concerns, the vet examined him we were given a treatment plan. The staff were friendly and answered all of our questions. They called us a few days after his visit to see how he was doing and we were happy to say with their help he was doing a lot better. We’ll be back for any future needs.

The BEST pet care I have ever experienced. My little rescue family, dog, and cat, can be quite the handful but this vet takes such good care and loves your animals almost as much as you do!
16 May 2020 20:07
LOVE the Oshawa Animal Hospital. They are always so friendly towards myself and my dogs. They have taken very good care of my fur babies on all occasions.
30 April 2020 20:29
Seems to me they are not concerned much about pets, but rather how they can make the most money out of their patients. Cat threw up a lot of blood and their answer "this is normal", Cat stopped eating and their answer "buy this medicine "Cerenia" 3 pills for $60 that will cause him pain/vocalization (injectable), depression/lethargy, ANOREXIA, anaphylaxis, ataxia, convulsions, hypersalivation, and vomiting" just a sad excuse for a hospital that should care but does not. Now i could be feeling this out of the loss of my cat, and i can understand that they might have thought that they were helping but every time they called they wanted to sell some other item in their stock.i mean i know you are running a business but after charging more than $1000 in two visits show some compassion. Just disappointing and will never ever consider this place a hospital rather than a place of business that is only looking out for how much money they can squeeze out.

Friendly helpful caring staff
However they did not honour the VCA wellness 21 Day Welcome check adoption card even though they are a VCA hospital. Disappointed that even though they knew I was coming in with the card and a sick newly rescued pup they wouldn't honour it. And didnt tell me so until after the visit and diagnosis and prescriptions were reviewed. What should have been free visit cost me over $200. For that reason; them knowing I was coming in with the card and not telling me until after the work was done that they weren't honours g it really left a sour taste in my mouth.
17 April 2020 9:06
Needs to be a -ZERO option! There are pictures/proof of animal abuse at their hands! Ihope they are charged and shut down. Keep all your fur babies far from this horror house they try to pass of as a vet office. They want yr money, not yr pets
08 April 2020 21:37
I have been taking our cat there and have never had any issues, I only see very caring, loving staff.
28 March 2020 19:14
We have been taking all our pets to OAH for years, and I can say as being a pet owner all my life that OAH is by far the most professional, knowledgeable and caring veterinarian services that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Thanks to the entire team, and keep up the great work!

What an amazing hospital my cat baby was about to die, I had taken her to two other vets and they basically took my whole odsp cheque and told me if I didn’t have the money upfront for her surgery then they would basically let her die cause they wouldn’t do a payment plan for the life saving surgery she needed. Being on odsp and her being my disability cat who keeps me calm and manages my anxiety, I couldn’t lose her, she’s my whole world, my child I knew time was of the essence and needed to hurry to save my kitty when I was told about this place and how they had the Farley foundation there, that they could help me and set up a payment plan for me so they could save my baby ️ We booked the emergency operation the very next day at 7am as soon as they opened. Not only did they save my baby but the amount of care, support, and attention they gave me and my cat was amazing, they definitely went above and beyond to save my cat and make sure I was comfortable the whole day in my own private room they gave me while I waited for her surgery to be done. They were extremely attentive, courteous, clean, friendly, professional and actually care about the well being of your animal/family member It is a beautiful place too with lots of really healthy treats, snacks and foods for your animals with a doggy day care too so this place literally has it all! I highly suggest this place for your fur babies, they will take AMAZING care of you and your animal and I can’t thank them enough for what they did for me and my baby girl, thank you thank you thank you soooooooo much for what you did for us ️ we love you guys

Horrible inhumane place to bring your pet.
My pup has come home from daycare multiple times with injuries, yet I have never got an answer on what happened or how the injury came about.
16 March 2020 10:46
Everyone is pretty cold you get there they see your pet and barely acknowledge you. From the reception, tech assistant and vet. Welcome to cold uncompassionate land.

Oshawa Animal Hospital is amazing, I would always bring my Chewy there, the doctors and technicians are great, they extended my dog Chewy's life span by many years, he was always excited to go there and I always trusted them to give me the best advice on how to take care of him, 5 Stars for Oshawa Animal Hospital.

Inhumane, to me that is. My cat was suffering from diabetes and I was buying very expensive food from their website and when he suddenly died I was left with about 250.00 worth of food that i had just purchased. I called them twice to see if they would take it back even with some sort of re-stocking charges, of course couldn't get a live person but left voice mails and never even got a call back. This is the last place i would recommend
