Outrageous pricey clinic, they did a lot test for my senior cat that was in serious condition but didn’t found the cause of my cat’s problem. They did a last test but they did not bother to call us about the result of the test and they are just pushing for euthanasia.
They never answer the phone, they don’t care if you been calling and need to make an appointment, the girl that answered the phone told if I didn’t like the way she was speaking that she could care less and hung the phone up on me. Ever since vca took over the place has fell apart, also the staff lack empathy, please think twice about taking your pet here you will regret it, I was charged for things I didn’t even ask for
I took my sick dog to have a check-up, I was charged $140 for them to administer oxygen and they did this without telling me the price. Watch out for Dr Burstein, she’s after money and tries very hard to up sell - constantly. On my way out she reminded me that they provide euthanasia services for pets… really? The front line staff are great.
Nice little office. Great veterinarian. She answered our questions, spent enough time with us to not make us feel rushed and didn't push expensive unnecessary treatments.
Dr. Steve Davidson is an excellent surgeon. He is one of the best (if not the best) in the GTA. His vet practice is immaculate, front desk staff efficient and helpful, he offers coffee while you wait (truly appreciated) ; is honest, compassionate and kind. Follows up with personal calls to discuss treatment plans. Prices competitive but reasonable. Highly recommended.
I got some new cats and they came with a free appointment with the VCA. So I brought one that I had some concerns with here. The whole time was wishing I was with our usual vet. In fairness because I know them, but also because she breaks down tests as, tests we could do, but are likely not necessarily, tests that might be a good idea, and tests that MUST be done. Here there's no distinction presented here. Let's do them all! Even the ones that if the vet bothered to listen to me would know there's no point, we can rule it out already. I have had better experience with a different VCA vet at a different location. In the end I am sure the vets here are fine. The problem VCA is corporate. The vets aren't really in control. I am sure they care, but they have overlords that want the money more than to work with owners.
Friendly and good service overall. They remind me all the time of vaccines and other things needed. Be aware of extra unnecessary charges and tests, though.
Took my dog in as she had started limping (this was 6 years ago). Dr. Sandler was adamant that she needed surgery due to a hip issue, this seems like a questionable diagnosis as my dog was perfectly healthy. I left and decided to do a wait and see approach. It turned out it was just a sprain. Its been 6 years and she has had no surgery and has had no issues (fully recovered on her own). Be careful when getting advice from any vets including this one. They pry on your emotions and only see dollar signs.
We have been using the services of Rosedale vet for YEARS for several of our pets. They are infinitely compassionate (through two losses of pets), knowledgeable, caring and professional.
I cannot praise Dr. Alisa Godina highly enough for her treatment and care she showed our cat Angel on our recent visit. Siamese cats are high strung but she was gentle and Angel relaxed and was happy to be examined by her. I would recommend any cat owner to ask for Dr. Godina if they need a good vet. Jennifer Heath, Toronto
I always have great experiences taking my dog here! They are very thorough and follow up to ensure my dog is doing better and if not by suggest new options. The front staff are always very kind and helpful
My dog has been a client of this clinic for years. I preface this by saying my pup is a complete lemon but we love him and without their aid and expertise I'm sure he wouldn't be around. The staff is fantastic. The doctors are compassionate and well versed. My pup is happy and based on my experience I highly recommend this place.
If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. My experience with Shannon was nothing short of a nightmare. She’s incredibly rude and lacks basic communication skills. The team there is great, but it’s unfortunate that they’re managed by such a malicious and spiteful human being. As a well known member of the Rosedale community, I will make sure that everyone knows not to take their beloved pets to an animal hospital that is run by someone as awful as Shannon. I truly hope and pray that she gets replaced in the near future. For the sake of all of our pets and all of us.
I’ve had dogs all my life. Dr. Davison at the Rosedale Animal clinic is by far the best vet I have ever had. He’s extremely knowledgeable and takes time to explain your pets situation. He’s a vet that doesn’t just see your pet and then forget about you. He always follows up with you and your pets condition which really shows he cares. Even though the vet techs and the girls at reception are busy, they are always available to answer your questions and help.
Over priced services when it comes to x-ray and blood check. They quotes x-ray for 1000 dollars which is ridiculous and 300 for blood check. I run into another vet who did X-ray around 300 and blood check for 220 dollars. They fix my kitty quickly.
I waist a ridiculous amount of time today due to those in unreasonable pricing.
The staff is beyond amazing. Everyone is super friendly and they took great care of my dog.
Dr. Jennifer is very knowledgeable, she was happy to answer all of my questions. I feel that Pablo now enjoys his vet trips!
The level of professionalism is unmatched, they consistently follow up to make sure my dog is doing fine and they have a very convenient app that you can use to see your dog’s medical history, read tips tailored to your dog and chat to a doctor straight from the tool!
Explain to me how a vet is incapable of doing an examination on a 30 lb dog? Claimed my dog wouldn't allow her near the area? Where's your vet tech support? Makes no sense! After not doing an accurate examination of the concerns I presented in my pup I was issued a small topical ointment at 72 $. How do you even know this is going to work when you didn't examine him properly? I confronted them about it nicely before I lost my entire patience and started yelling. I've only been here one week and everything with them is just a money grab. MAJOR RED FLAG: on top of my horrible experience this vet recommends bravecto which most know to be harmful to dogs. I had to ask for the next guard spectra. I miss my old vet at Bristol Veterinarian hospital in Mississauga: (he actually cared about my pups wellbeing but he's too far now. Do yourself a favour and save your money. I'm transferring to davisville vet hospital
The vets are top notch! They don't push or try to upsell you into costly unnecessary tests. We have been going to VCA for several years with all our dogs. They are very compassionate when the sad day comes to a senior for baby. All the techs are fantastic as are the front desk staff. The entire team are very transparent, caring and highly skilled. If you are looking for a vet this clinic is for you! We dont live near the clinic but we make the trip as they are amazing and we wouldn't trust any other clinic or vets to care for our beloved fur baby Bailey. Sharon & Chris
They give great car, but proces are quite high and they don't tell you what something will cost before doing it. If you want to know prices, make sure to ask about every step they're doing!
We had an appointment scheduled a week in advance. When we arrived at the Hospital, we were told by the receptionist that the Doctor would not be seeing us today at the scheduled time because they were not currently in the office.
It was a huge let down for us as we commuted from a far distance. If they had let us known before having us travel all the way here, it would have been understandable. However, we did not receive any forms of notification - either through a phone call, e-mail, text, or voicemail that we would have to be rescheduled.
It was extremely disappointing to see how unreliable and unprofessional the staff here are, for expecting us to arrive at the scheduled time and only upon arrival that they notify us about the cancelled appointment.
The staff here have shown that they are inconsiderate and not respectful of people's time. Will definitely not come back.
I had an initial examination for my puppy and that went good. Doctor was very thorough. After the first examination i suspected my puppy had an UTI for which i called them to ask if I will be charged extra for them to collect my Puppy's urine and they confirmed - its no extra charge. After I receive the invoice i see an extra payment of $90 as an examination fees (this was done 10 days after initial visit and also the fees was different from the first visit.). All that need to be done was collect his urine sample and send it for urinalysis. I called VCA Rosedale again and they mentioned if I would have done it, there wouldn't have been any examination fees. (wasn't mentioned on the call)
Reception desk is HORRIBLE, totally unprofessional.
Save your money and there are better vets out there in Toronto!
The medical staff at VCA Rosedale is very professional and truly cares about the patients' well-being. Our dog Pije has a recurring type of tumour and we were told three years ago by another clinic that she only had 4 months to live. We truly believe that Pije still continues to live a good, healthy life thanks to the medical care she continues to receive at VCA Rosedale, with early detection and proper handling of any tumour that pops up. Also being able to fully trust the expertise and care of the VCA Rosedale medical team, and particularly of Dr. Davidson, has made this difficult time a lot easier for us as pet owners.
The staff here are phenomenal. Very caring, patient and helpful. I am a total noob cat dad and they helped me understand how to best keep my best bud happy and healthy. I trust their advice and am very appreciative of their care.
Dr. Steven Davidson and his team did an excellent job on our 6 month old puppy’s spay surgery. She is a purebred Whippet with low body fat and susceptible to potential issues including anesthesia and hypothermia. We boarded her the night before surgery and she came home the next day a few hours after the procedure. Something I would recommend so the clinic can monitor the fasting process and ensure your animal is ready for surgery. I was happy to observe that the surgical theatre was immaculate and clean and the clinic smelled good. Cleanliness is an important element when it comes to reducing the risk of infections with surgery. It’s something I personally need for our pets to have confidence in a clinic. Post-surgery recovery has been remarkable. No issues with anesthesia; eating, drinking, walking, regular bowel movements and does not appear to be in severe pain. She slept with us on the bed last night and was very calm and secure. The only downside is parking in a very busy Toronto neighbourhood and a crowded lobby waiting area due to a very busy vet practice, so give yourself a lot of extra time.
Wonderful and compassionate staff when I had to put my dog down. The vet came to my home, and a few weeks later, I get a letter that a donation was made on my behalf, thank you.
I have been dealing with rosedale animal hospital since 2012 and as much as I do miss the former owner Dr Medhurst, I must admit that the 3 new Drs that I have dealt with all were top notch. I now live 50 kms away from their location and have returned to them after 3 other vet nightmare rip off experiences in Newmarket. I will forever go out of my way to take my dog to this vet clinic. I have received excellent care from them and at a fair price.
Without a doubt VCA Canada Rosedale Animal Hospital is 5 stars. I would rate it 10 stars if I could. Every single person there who I've had contact with is friendly, caring and genuinely concerned about your needs. Most importantly they are concerned with the needs of your pet. I have a dog and have had nothing but good experiences. In particular, Dr. Godina is our vet, though you'll be in good hands with anyone you meet. I have a dog that I would consider difficult to look after. I recently boarded her with Rosedale Animal Hospital and couldn't have been happier with the outcome. What a fantastic group of people from the veterinarians to the technicians. Highly recommend. I don't know what I would do without them!
