Be careful going to VCA Clinics. They are constantly pushing unessessary fees and costs onto your bill. They reccomend specific food brand that are proven to be terrible and harmful for your pets.

I reccomend you find a small local (not bought out) clinic that actually cares about your pet.

The receptionist was so rude!
Today I called Westside Animal hospital to book an appointment for my dog to receive a wellness check. On westside animal hospitals, website they offer a free first exam for new clients. I was told by the receptionist the animals is considered the client. However, she asked me to hold, she came back and said that’s not true.as per her management, I was also told that I had brought two other animals in the past and they were seen by a doctor. Yes, I did bring a dog there years ago and inquired.about costs. When I was told how much it would cost, I walked out the door. So no, my animals were not seen by a doctor.regardless of what she said, and I definitely would not of brought my cat there.
The receptionist was so confrontational. She insisted that I could not use the exam certificate.so I ended the call.unnecessarily ignorance!

SCAM ARTISTS! This was by far the worst Vet clinic I’ve ever experienced. After our first visit they convinced us our dog needed 3 different vaccines and subsequent boosters. They booked us for 4 additional appointments, however failed to mention they were booking them on the last day of the vaccine window. Meaning if we needed to cancel/reschedule they said we now had to start the process over, and pay for another two vaccines. After some back and forth they agreed to get us in the next day and give the booster. However they had blatantly lied to us about the cost of each telling us it would be $36.00 for each. After the vaccine they said it would be 155$ for the vaccine plus the standard fee for the “exam”. Which is the price we’d have to pay each time at all subsistent appointments which they booked for us. Not to mention the staff I spoke to yesterday said the appointment today was for the Rabies booster. Which I later found out does not exist and the vaccine we were receiving was something completely different altogether that they said they told us about during the initial visit. Needless to say we we’ve canceled all the upcoming appointments and we’re changing Vets. But word of warning for anyone that doesn’t want surprise bills with minimal care.

Terrible place zero customer service. Overly expensive. Was quoted a price on the phone go to to pay and it's almost double the price. No apology from the person working at the front I'll take business elsewhere and tell my dog friends (over 30 dogs in this area) to go to another vet

STAY AWAY

Worst experience. Horrid really and truly. Vet had so much attitude and whole thing was unprofessional. Our pet deserved better than that. I still have nightmares. Take your pet somewhere else.

I am frustrated and extremely disappointed with my visit to this hospital. I regret taking him there. I took my cat here two months ago when it appeared he was injured, in pain and was suffering from incontinence. The doctor who took a look at him said it was urinary crystals. I informed her that another vet from my home country took a look at his video and mentioned it could be a spinal cord injury. But the doctor ignored my words completely and kept suggesting that it was urinary crystals. Her diagnosis was as he can walk, it isn't an injury (yes, my cat was walking fine that day). So, she did not even take a look at him properly though I mentioned that he seems to be in pain whenever I touch his back. Just because he was walking, it was so irresponsible for the doctor to be so adamant and not be thorough with the diagnosis. She suggested a urine test for 400 cad which I denied, because I knew it wasn't urinary crystals though I am no doctor. She advised some tablets and dietary changes for him, which wasted a week for me.
Eventually I had to take my cat to a different vet, who acknowledged the possibility of an injury and paralyzed tail. My poor baby suffered for a long before he was put to sleep as they determined he was paralyzed and may not have a quality of life. I regret that VCA was the first vet I took him to, and they wasted our time and delayed the diagnosis process and attention he needed, just because the doctor was confident it was urinary crystals and did not give a heed to what I was telling her. I regret it mainly because spinal cord injuries are addressed during the initial days, and if they are delayed, they are most of the times irreversible. So, I regret that he got a bad vet at his first visit. May my baby rest in peace. May my review help other pet parents make a wise decision of taking their babies to better vets.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Feel 100% confident bringing my pup here. They also follow up several times after an appointment if needed which is very appreciated.

So have been using this location for several years. They always used to be very good. Sadly the support staff has changed and many seem to just have an attitude, and provide lame advice and in some cases the guidance has been misleading. 2 of the VET's are great (when you get to see them). The third I have not seen so cannot comment, but very often they are not available unless you specifically book them. We have to have blood tests every so often and they take the pet away get the sample and that's it, given the problem I would expect the Vet to at least chat with us for a few mins etc. I agree with others that its the VCA organization that is to blame, the emphasis is now on Money Money Money, not our Pets. Tried calling the practice Manager a few times asking for a call back but Nothing. Apart from the VET's the place is on the decline compared to how they used to be which is extremely sad. Worst move they ever did was become a VCA Franchise.

Brought in my pet kitten for consultation and problem with his eye, zwalked out with a $400 bill and was told to give medication, the kitten died in his sleep the next day.

A good check-up and clean up n he passed away the 2nd day. Nobody there is professionally qualified but they sure look like it.

Everything was fine until my pet died the next day! Not even 24 hours in and he passed!

Unprofessional, horrible, money driven business. This is merely a franchised vet practice with the VCA title. So I was billed for over $1000 for tests for my pet, $100+ alone for not even a 5 minute consultation, then discharged without meds and told to wait for xray results because nobody in this faux bougie office can read a scan. When I missed the call, they never tried to call back or leave a message. I’ve attempted multiple times through email and number to have a word and discuss palliative care plan with the vet but never got a call back, which led to unnecessary suffering for my pet.

I suggest going to VEC by rosedale if you want prompt care for the prices you’re paying here. Its a bit more but worthwhile. Otherwise come here if you have deep pockets for mediocre service.

Like most veterinarians this place plays on your emotions about your pet to overcharge you for services they don't need

Outrageous prices. Money-hungry and very clearly corporate owned. These vets work for commission based on how many people they can convince to sign up for their "Care Club" packages. Unlike other vet clinics that are actually reputable, they do not place a 'cap' on the upper limit of their dental cleaning surgeries. For example: every other clinic I've been to will provide an upper limit for how much they will charge for a dental surgery, ie.it will never cost more than $2000, no matter how many teeth need to be extracted or how long it takes. These vets do no such thing, and will happily and without remorse hand you a bill for over $4000 without batting an eye. It's criminal. Also extremely poor customer service from the front desk staff, they will roll their eyes at you when you ask questions about costs. I was sitting in an exam room and listened to my cat's vet Dr. Kammy complain about me and make fun of me with a technician in the back of the clinic, because the walls are paper thin. You're much better off traveling a little further and spending money elsewhere at a clinic that is not owned by VCA and has doctors that actually care about pets rather than just lining their own pockets.

Very clear there are brand deals with the Vets. My baby was prescribed stuff that burned her skin and took off a whole patch of fur! Come across as wholesome but clearly a very money-hungry business.

We came to visit this vet because we thought our sweet Lexi was suffering bladder incontinence. They were a little more expensive for an exam but they were able to take us right away and we wanted answers right away. We found out she had diabetes. This broke our hearts since we knew this was going to be an expensive journey for us. DR. Meredith has been absolutely amazing and so very understanding. The entire clinic has worked with us based on what we can afford. We knew this would be an expensive journey and it's so great to work with those who want what is best for our furbaby. You can tell that the staff here is really dedicated to the well being of the animals that are brought in. So glad we came across them.

I see right through vets upsell tactics and they play on your fears in regards to clients pets. Watch CBC marketplace. This place is all about getting as much money out of you as they possibly can.

(Recommend VCA Canada Rosedale Animal Hospital - they are much better at service and client care). Would not go Wedtside VCA or recommend unless you have no where else to take your pet and you don't mind a lack of customer service or wasting your time, frequently. Techs and staff are great but admins aren't given enough info in order to NOT waste your time
Don't show up 3 minutes late or a 15 minute late policy will take into effect. Btw this isn't found anywhere nor do they tell you this in advance. Also this is happened more than once. Due to admin not receiving adequate info to inform clients ahead of time, the last time we brought our pup on for scheduled bloodwork they failed to tell me appropriate information and now we are waiting ANOTHER 3 months for the next appointment, and of course wasted my time showing up for the last appointment. Care club will lure you in but there are other VCA clinic that do great work all around

Excellent service, I have been taking my kitten to this clinic from the first day. He is on a care plan. He is neutered and microchipped in this clinic. They always follow up and very considerate. I highly recommend.

Amazing customer service.not to humans but to the animals. Kidding aside, the staff is great and very informative. Especially one employee, I think her name is Krizia, different name.that's why I hesitate on the spelling.regardless. No need to hesitate if you want to bring in your furry freind. The entire team is amazing

Will be filing a complaint about Kammy Punniamoorthy to College of Veterinarians of Ontario. Beware of this woman, the indian one, she will call the Toronto Animals services to your house over nothing. And if you feed your cat raw food, don't tell her or else she'll turn into the devil. I guess they make a LOT of money off of their food services that they have and don't want anything in the way. Destroy to conquer.
Go tell all the ferals to stop eating raw, or else Kammy Punniamoorthy is going to send the Animal services after them. Get a life woman.

Been here for years for my 2 cats only because my cats hate going out and this is the closest vet. Management is messy and even messier during COVID. I tried to avoid coming in during COVID as owners are not allowed inside and from my experience here I know they are not treating my babies as good as when I present. Switching vet now.
