As a vegan who has eaten at probably every vegan restaurant in the city, this one is top of the list. The food is incredible, the selection is amazing, and the portions are generous. I'm slowly making my way through the menu and every meal so far is 5 stars. I really appreciate the selection of vegan meats too. Not just tofu (although the tofu dishes are great), but other tasty vegan meats in delicious, creative dishes. I strongly recommend.
Great veg and vegan Chinese dishes. We had lotus dumplings, lions mane skewer, orange shiitake and spicy fish in broth. All were excellent flavors, beautiful presentation and great service. Highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing s tier restaurant. Each dish has a lot of care and craftsmanship. I love bringing people here to impress them with how well the dishes are executed
We got the house special hotpot and it was so delicious! There were a lot of different mushrooms in it and it was a good size for two to share. I definitely want to come back and try the rest of the menu!
I ordered H7. 辣子雙丁 Spicy Double Sauté and was not disappointed. So many flavors and spice in a tasty dish! There were so many creative and colorful dishes I would love to return and dine there again.
I would give 5***** for the food and menu selection. Sadly the service was lacking. It seems this restaurant is a side business of another Thai restaurant and the servers spent the entire time in the kitchen of the other restaurant. They were not helpful at all, didn’t check in with me, never offered water or anything to drink other than the hot tea (which was good.) In fact, to pay, I had to open the door of the other restaurant to make the chimes go off to get them to come out.
I went here for a mid week dinner with my husband. Being vegetarian and living just up the street we were excited to try this place when I saw it on maps. I’ve walked past it nearly every day without knowing it’s there because it’s not well signposted and you access it through Evergreen Thai restaurant next door which is a bit confusing.
We shared: H6 Tea tree mushroom fragrant spicy pot, H13 Braised cordyceps flower and lily with snow peas and H15 King oyster mushroom wraps.
H15 King oyster mushroom wraps was by far our favourite item. They were presented to mimic peking duck. The wraps were cold which threw me off a bit at first because I was expecting them to be a bit warm but once filled with the cucumber, onion and mushroom filling they were delicious. I would have really liked a bigger portion of the mushrooms because we had quite a lot of cucumber, onion and wraps left over once the mushrooms were gone.
H13 Braised cordyceps flower and lily with snow peas was simple and tasted very fresh. There was a lovely hint of ginger and something we couldn’t place (it had the texture of a roasted chestnut) that added a nice bit of bite.
H6 Tea tree mushroom fragrant spicy pot was definitely our least favourite. The bowl it came in was huge and it looked very impressive when it arrived on the table but about half of the dish was inedible dried chilis and other dried spices (what seemed like whole sichuan pepper and these dried woody stalks we couldn’t identify) that made it really hard to eat. You’d get a mouthful of whole pepper and it was really overpowering so we ended up picking out all the dried chilis and scraping off all the other dried bits because they just weren’t pleasant. The parts of the dish you could eat, the cauliflower, potato, pepper and celery and especially the rice cakes, were really tasty and overall the dish had a nice spicy flavour. In our opinion this has the potential to be amazing if only they removed all the inedible dried chilis and ground the spices into a proper sauce. The bowl might look half as big but it would be significantly more enjoyable.
We were given tea when we arrived which was a nice touch but we weren’t offered any other drinks (not even water) during our meal and we weren’t offered dessert.
Overall I’m glad we tried it. We experienced some tasty flavours and unusual ingredients like lotus root and rice cakes that we’ve never had before but we probably wouldn’t rush back.
This place is a major hidden gem for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike! Best vegetarian Chinese food we have ever had! Try the spicy double sauté, mapo tofu and the fried rice!
BEST VEGAN CHINESE FOOD, PERIOD! Everything is so authentic and I can barely tell its all made with vegetables. Highly recommend the Chuan-er! Vegans, if you wanna treat yourself, this is the place to go.
This is the most authentic vegetarian restaurant I have ever been to! They have so many different flavours including sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Some of my favourite dishes are the Golden Curry with Lion's mane, King Oyster Mushroom Warps, BBQ Lions' Mane Mushroom and Chanterelle Fried Rice. I would totally recommend this place to my meat lover friends out there. Cheers!
Absolutely delicious vegetarian dishes.has rich taste, fabulous display, there is also my favorite Sichuan flavor. Can't believe the food that I'm tasting has no meat at all in it! Definitely will come again.
This is a professional vegetarian restaurant, the texture as well as the taste of meat is made on the basis of vegetables. It’s really amazing, welcome to try ur flavour!
