Delays and Misrepensation.

I ordered 2 bay windows and submitted a signed agreement on 14 April 2023 along with a substantial deposit.
No signs of delivery in December so I followed up twice - once with the sales rep and another with the company itself. The windows were installed on 14 December 2023,8 months after contract. The house was wide open to the cold air and breeze for a good portion of the day. There was no mitigating coverage so it was cold inside and my heating escaped through the large gap.
Construction in winter conditions is not the best which is another reason I agreed to September and October. They offered to delay the installation until the spring but that was not an option for me.
There was nothing unique with the order and it was promised in September or October.
I have in an email that the mullion was to be no wider than 4.5" and that no one can match that locally. It is 6".
I would NOT have proceeded with the order if the construction was in the winter and 8 months later. I did not want a mullion of 6" as that for me would have stopped me ordering the bay windows. I have two mullions so it is 12" of restricted viewing throught the windows.
Verdun followed up after construction with a courtesy call to see how everything was; the individual listened and I was told my concerns would be followed up on. They were not followed up by either the sales person or the company itself. Therefore I paid today in full as obviously Verdun is not concerned about my issues and I do not want to be hounded for payment.
However I am a very dissatisfied client with both the windows and the time it took to have them installed as well as the season they were installed in. I was told that they have 48 installalion teams on the go. I think that about says it all.
I would think twice and look at other options for companies if you are considering a window replacement.

Very professional installers that took the time to explain the product and how it functions. Cleaned up the work area and made sure I was satisfied with the work before leaving.

The installers were great! They showed up on time and got all the windows done each day they were here. Cleaned up all the mess and did a fantastic job with the finishing trim. I would definitely ask for Rami's crew when doing an install! The windows seem to be very good quality and look great. They even arrived months earlier than expected. Sales and communications were great and very helpful.

Tim did a fantastic and quick repair job after we had a window installed. He noticed a few other cosmetic things and made sure everything was to our liking. Above and beyond and a very nice guy.

Great service both in office and during installation. They kept us well in the loop as we waited for the door to arrive. The door is good quality considering we never saw a sample, however the handle and lock is a bit delicate. Overall I would rate my experience a 9 out of 10

Verdun Windows replaced our custom master bedroom window that leaked rain water for years. Previous attempts to fix it all failed with thousands of dollars wasted. Although the order took longer than expected, I really enjoyed the entire process and the final product! Now we have a beautiful new window! Fingers crossed for no more rain coming in the house.

Exceptional Service! Jason and Rhys were fantastic! Great workmanship, very diligent, polite, and friendly. If I didn’t have beautiful new windows, I wouldn’t have known they were here! They cleaned and vacuumed after themselves, and even picked up tiny pieces of “stuff” that fell in my gardens below the windows. I cannot say enough great things about these two gentlemen. The installers Jason and Rhys were super excellent installing my door. Very polite and before I kknew it the job was complete and all cleaned up. I'm hoping the same two will come and do my windows when they are ready. Verdun is the best.

This is a preliminary evaluation since the windows have only been in for 4 days. I won't know how well they stand up to a cold Canadian winter until next spring. They installation crew worked very quickly and installed the three large windows in about 6 hours. They had to cut out much larger openings in the wall to accommodate the windows that were twice as large as the originals. Their construction skills seemed up the task and there were no major problems except one of the crew accidentally cut an electrical wire which necessitated me hiring an electrician to make an emergency service call to fix the damage. The one thing that I can comment on right now is that the quality of the appearance of the windows and the installation is good. The outside flashing is is neat and tight. The interior unfortunately is nothing like I wanted. The original windows were a modern design with no casement trim, just smooth drywall right to the window. I told the salesman that is what I wanted the finished job to look like. The installation crew just nailed trim around the new windows which does not look like anything else in the house, which is a modern design. Worst of all, they used a colonial style of trim which really looks ridiculous and doesn't match the baseboards.

I had four windows replaced in my house - one of them a very large one in the master bedroom. The windows were of high quality and I am very pleased with them. The install team Matt and Tom showed up on time and did an excellent job even though they ran into a few challenges. I appreciated their expertise and their friendly manner. All in all I had a good experience with this company. The only thing that I could have wished was different, was that I had to wait six months to get my windows because I did not want to pay everything in advance. They informed me of this wait when I signed my contract so it wasn't a surprise but they were willing to come much sooner if I paid the whole amount in advance. Good for cash flow for their company, but not something that in my opinion, enhances good will for an otherwise excellent company.

Recap: if you have 1 or two windows to replace like for like, verdun should be ok. If you have a large project with complex work such as enlarging openings or adding new windows I discourage you to consider going with this company. Read below for my experience.

I haven't received my windows yet but communication from the company isn't great. 9 months of waiting and ive received one email after 5 months and another at 9 months. Neither had an ounce of useful information. I now call every two weeks and even that seems useless. One time i'm told it will be delayed to August, next time it'll be ready END OF JUNE. Today i was told 3-5 weeks from now.

It doesn't seem like there is any proper mechanism for them to track or report progress and the updates are just made up on the spot.

Hopefully, the install experience will be better. I also heard from a neighbor that had incomplete work done that they are sending bullies to your door harassing you to pay for unfinished work (FYI i confirmed the accuracy despite Verdun's response below).

UPDATE July31: its now been 10 months and no updates have been communicated to me.

UPDATE Aug 8: day one of install. The crew sent didn't take care of windows and dragged them on the ground (PVC scraping on side walk and trailer ramp). Thankfully, the edges of some of them get caulked and won't be visible. As per photo i posted, the trim install is very poor quality. I'm re-doing the mess this evening and recaulking.

UPDATE Aug 10: On day two, a new crew showed up (thank god!) to finish the rest of the work and fix a major structural issue (day one guys lied and said a header was installed for a widened window opening). The new crew is great and very transparent in the work they are doing.

FYI a boom lift that apparently has an charge of $800 in your bill was left at the side of the road but never used.

UPDATE Aug 11: windows are all installed the exterior caulking work is horrendous. Beads that are almost 1 inch thick and wavy. My suspicion is that the cutouts were too big and this is an easy way to hide it. Ive asked for them to redo it properly but have to wait 3-4 week for the beads to dry before they can be removed and redone.

UPDATE August 14: plaster work and taping done. The work is so bad i had sand down the plaster remove take and redo the entire thing. The drywall work is so bad that in some areas i had to mud a width of two feet to level out a 3/4 edge. If you do need dry wall work done do yourself a favor and tell not to take or plaster.

I had to take 6 vacation days for something that was estimated to take 2 days. No compensation for your time for sloppy work and me catching the installers lies.

We had Verdun replace all our basement windows as well as 3 upstairs windows. They gave us an estimated time as to when the windows would be manufactured and kept us updated as to the status. When they were ready we set up an installation date and time. The crew showed up right on time. The installation crew were professional, polite, efficient, and did a tremendous clean up job! I highly recommend using Verdun if you need one or all your windows replaced.
