For the service, I wish there was 10 star review:) staff are amazing in this restaurant. Quality of the food, no question! Highly recommend it!

First off I will say that the interior of the place is beautiful. That is definitely the best aspect of the restaurant. I had a series of appetizers that were quite good. But why the 1 star? The main. Which consisted of the fillet mignon, carrots, broccolini, and a potatoe pave. Had very little flavor and nothing unique at all. The steak was seved on a cold plate, didn't taste well and was also cold. The carrots and broccolini would be the same as if you went to the grocery store hot counter and bought it there. And the potatoes pave was tasteless. Next was a chocolate cake dessert that tasted like a frozen dessert from the freezer that they probably buy from some vendor. The restaurant is beautiful.but the quality of the food did not match the beauty of the restaurant. AlSO others at my table had a shrimp pasta and the shrimp had a fishy taste and were quite rubbery

Very good place to eat. Calamari is fantastic, pizza is very good. Try the one with the Mortadella. Sweet pea ravioli is a must.

You actually can't go wrong with any of the dishes served here. And the staff are exceptionally friendly

Had an initial mix up with our event decor, but the owner tried his best to accommodate us. Still had an amazing evening with great food and one of the best dinner experiences in Toronto. The sommeliers and the chefs are the heart of this place. Thanks again for a memorable night.

The service was exceptional. I ordered the bolognese and my wife ordered the risotto. My pasta was cooked to perfection and the best tiramisu in GTA! Loved it. Would be coming back again.

Consistently great food and service, been here a few times and never disappointed. Last time our steak took awhile to come out but they gave us free dessert and some money off without even asking to make up for it.

I don't live in Toronto and I hadn't been here in over 15 years. Glad to report that everything is still excellent. Grilled octopus was great. Margherita Pizza was top-tier. Spaghetti Pomodoro was simple yet delicious. Service was impeccable. Perfect light lunch.

I used to come here with my family a few times in my 20's and 30's. I haven't been back in probably over a decade and decided to come here for a birthday dinner and was NOT disappointed. The service here is impeccable - the staff are well-trained and incredibly attentive. The food is absolutely incredible and I'm so happy that a restaurant that has been around for a long time, still manages to produce amazing food. We ordered the calamari and caesar salad for appetizers and I had the tagliatelle bolognese and my sister asked the kitchen to make a simple alfredo pasta off-menu and they did it to perfection. We let them know it was my birthday and they made it extra special with some flare.:) Will definitely be back for a special occasion!

I was there with a few friends celebrating my birthday. The ambiance is really nice. Our server was absolutely pleasant & nice. I don't know his name, but I wanted to order something which I saw on IG and he advised me it had pork without me asking and I thought that was really nice since I don't eat pork due to religious reasons. He also gave us these little scoops of ice cream while we were waiting, which was also nice.

The risotto was delicious. My friends got pasta, and they absolutely loved it.

When we leaving one server gave us our coats but was kind enough to help put it on in the most professional manner.

I will definitely be visiting again when I am not so much on a diet. Thank you, guys, for such an amazing experience

I had a business meeting in this restaurant. We were on time but our table was not ready yet. We didn't mind that because the staff were extremely pleasant. The food was delicious, but for me, the best part was being served from such kind people.

Went for my husband’s birthday. The food was fresh and made with food quality ingredients. My husband is a classically trained Italian chef and won’t eat at very many Italian restaurants. He finished his plate! I had the Rabbit Paperdelle and he had the Tagliatelle. Started with Calamari and finished with cappuccinos and a complimentary Creme brulee. Great service and food. Great value.

My friend took us for his birthday table of 13 people and one of my friends received a fish completely uncooked at all!
All of us tried the plate completely uncooked!

Everything about this restaurant was simply amazing! The service is impeccable from the moment you're greeted at the door to the servers. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the all the food was delicious. I tried the Australian wagyu and it was incredible, well worth the price. Overall I cannot recommend this place enough. 5/5

This restaurant is such a gem from the moment you arrive you feel so welcomed the food and I mean everything you eat is 10/10 and the service is like no other!

Watched waitress pull allergy out of the food. Manager promised to refund me if I removed negative review. After 5 weeks and multiple polite reminders no refund. Been going here for years and DO NOT Recommend. Place is not what it once was. No accountability by management staff. Constant excuses lack of appreciation and integrity. I suspect another nice email after this review on how they will make it right reply will be sent but will actually do nothing.

We booked our company Christmas dinner here. We had the private room. Everything was beyond amazing. I spoke to Jessy to book everything and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He made sure we were well taken care of. Everything we discussed over the phone was more than I expected when we arrived. The staff and sommelier were amazing. Very attentive and made our experience that much better. The food was absolutely amazing.they set the bar so high! This was one of our best experiences at an Italian restaurant. And we will definitely be coming back. Thank you again Jessy and to all the staff!

The food was actually impressive, our waiters were accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed without having to ask for it.

Food is fantastic and service quality is that of a fine dining restaurant. The wine selection is what this restaurant is known for. They have a sommelier on staff. Prices are that of fine dining. Parking is on site.

Just had dinner with my wife here was amazing! There was a slight mistake but Jesse the manager dealt with everything professionally and made our experience worth it. I would highly recommend anyone looking for Italian fine dining to come to this establishment.

We are absolutely in love with this placed. I fall short of words. The service, the ambiance & the food tops it all. Everything is 5 We take some of our choicest clients, friends and family, and it has not failed to impress anyone.
Do not miss the beautiful cellar (take a tour), the Wine Bible (take suggestions from the staff they are ever so helpful) and the life size pepper mills (ask for a demo).
They have the yummiest palate cleansers in between the meals and brownies to leave the perfect taste in your mouth.
Favourite dishes: Arancini & Tiramisu
Salads are all great and so is alllllll the other food. Please do visit. Bon Apetit.

Overall 5star experience


We arrived and were greeted by very very friendly staff. The place looks like it did a few years ago however some very nice updates, new tables/chairs & some really awesome lighting.

Now to the food and overall experience:

The appetizers

lamb ribs 10/10 taste and presentation on this dish was awesome
Calamari 7/10 taste was on point however the calamari was slightly overdone and chewy
Ceaser Salad 10/10 taste was bang on and the presentation was beautiful

Main Courses

Extravaganza for two 7.5/10
The fillets were perfectly cooked, as well as the shrimps and lobster. Risotto was perfectly cooked Only reason for not 10 out of 10 is the dish was not very hot. Most of the food was luke warm.

Can't speak to my other guests mains as I did not get a chance to taste although the lobster pasta looked incredible. Definitely will try next time I am here.

Desserts

Hazelnut Iced Cream 10/10

Typically a great dining experience, however we were there on what must have been an off night for them. Food was over salted and served cold. The appetizers were great. It was over an hour wait between the aps and the main course. Dessert was ok.

Has been great for decades.new owner but chef is unchanged.service and the whole branzini remain at the top in the gta hopefully the tradition can continue.

Food was great, we had the quail as appetizer, gnocchi and the rabbit pappardelle, and tiramisu dessert. All were delicious and the tiramisu was very authentic. Alex was awesome and the general manager Patrick popped by a few times.what a sense of humour Patrick has!

Great place to eat. To me looked like a local restaurant. It is in a strip mall, the outside does not do justice at the inside. What a surprise when we came in. The inside is 10 times better than the outside. Food is phenomenal, the wine and liquor list is bigger than a enciclopedia Británica, yes that big. Just in single malt scotch they have 900 different ones. Did not try the steak, but it looks like if you like a steak you will not be disappointed. They age the meat in big coolers in front of you and it looked good.

Went in for an afternoon of Whiskey Tasting and had the experience of meeting Joseph Cassidy (Sommelier Whisky Expert). Very informative. Fantastic service, great food (pizza), good beer, and fine whisky. A phenomenal experience. But make sure your wallet is full.it's not inexpensive. But definitely worth every penny.

Food was pretty good but nothing amazing. Decor was beautiful.

Couldn't understand a single word from our Italian waiter, but he understood me, so I got everything I ordered.

Impressive as always. Food is delicious and well prepared with fresh quality ingredients. One of the few restaurants truly worth their salt. Always a pleasure to visit, most definitely recommend. Also, if wine is your thing this is where you worship!

My husband and I have ordered for take out twice now and we had a little mix up with our order but the service and hospitality was above and beyond! The food is fantastic and we are so pleased! Thank you Joseph and kitchen staff for making our dinner tonight just right!

Absolute delight for Valentine's day - So glad we decided to go to Via Allegro. Love the renovations. You get a feel of zen sitting by the Cherry Blossom tree. The food, ambience, and service were all top shelf. Parking was also convenient and plenty. Will definitely return!

J´ai décidé de donner une seconde chance à ce restaurant, et je tiens à dire que c´était un service impeccable. Vraiment un service qui mérite 5 étoiles et plus même.
Les salades étaient bonnes et rafraîchissantes. Ma fille de 5 ans a adoré les Calamars et cheveux d´ange frits. La pizza Sophia de ma fille était succulente, cuite juste comme il se doit.

Les plats était délicieux avec une touche très spéciales, la viande cuite comme nous souhaitions.

Le dessert m´a vraiment impressionné, la présentation était vraiment excellente et le goût je n´en parle pas. La crème brûlée m´a fait voyager chez moi en France. Vraiment la meilleure crème brûlée mangée ici au GTA.

Côté vin, je recommande vraiment ce restaurant pour sa grande sélection. On a vraiment le choix et il s´agit de vin de haute qualité.

Je tiens à remercier toute l´équipe. Les serveurs était à la hauteur. Les managers étaient très aimables et accueillants.

Finally tried this Etobicoke landmark. Old school Italian restaurant vibes & decor all around. Great service! The “Italian Fish & Chips” were a fun choice for calamari & angel hair fries to start. I indulged in the 4 cheese gnocchi w/ walnuts & cranberries and my partner had the seafood pasta! It felt a little pricey for what we got but restaurants prices have gone up & you’re paying for the history/ambiance! They have a nice big bar and open concept kitchen/pizza oven.

Was there for a work holiday dinner. Great food and great customer service, will definitely be back. There was a minor hiccup (restaurant was very busy) and they took care of us extremely well.

Perfect elegant spot for a first date. The meals are a work of art, the interior decor is beautiful, there's also many binders showing of wine, grappa, scotches and everything else you can think of to drink. Allegro is one of the best in the city

Came to this restaurant after 10 years and sat at a table for over 15 minutes when it wasn’t too busy before they asked me if I wanted a water or a drink. Then I got my water and ordered through this old man who wasn’t very enthusiastic in taking the order. The food came and nothing was really tasty or even good for the price. The duck risotto was okay and the branzino fish was slightly fishy. Also the salad was flavorless and had to add my own vinegar and lemon. On top of all that they didn’t have half the beers on the menu. Decor is nice but the service and food boring and needs a makeover. Stay away from this place

Would return only for a special occasion, this restaurant is on the pricier side compared to other Italian restaurants in the area serving similar menus. Their wine list is impressive and would recommend getting the rabbit pasta!

Had a beautiful anniversary dinner here with my husband. Wonderful food in a classy and cozy atmosphere. Loved the celebratory lamb.

Delicious food. Fabulous, knowledgeable staff and a great lively atmosphere. One of the best desserts I've ever had was the passion fruit cheesecake. The chocolate gelato was to die for too.

Took my mom their for Mother's Day and had a great time. Food was good, wine was excellent. Amazing wine menu, LOTS of choices!

We love it here. My favourite is the golden spoon risotto! Check the menu a few days ahead of your visit as some of the speciality items need to be ordered 36hrs advance! Totally doing that next time.

Overall a great place for an Italian meal.
Via Allegro Italian Restaurant is near Sherway Gardens shopping mall. We had a few dishes: the Mushroom risotto which was flavourful, the bolognese was nice with lots of meat along with the pasta and not too much sauce (the best bolognese in the city!), the duck special with the duck breast and duck confit was a bit on the rare side. Other than that, the dessert was a slight disappointment although we would still come back to the restaurant for sure: the Passionfruit cheesecake is a bit too tart. Great spot. Would come back

The local classic continues to exceed expectations! We split an egg noodle tagliatelle in a meat sauce and a pork lovers pizza! AMAZING tastes - so delicious. Portions were gigantic and the service was impeccable. Too full to order dessert but we were given a small brownie to taste long with our bill. A very nice touch. We will be back with friends!

This upscale Italian restaurant has been operating many years and I was pleased to find it is still very good. The wine list is phenomenal and the sommelier knows her way around it. I will have to return more often.

This place needs new management and owners for sure. Inside just feels so dated with no atmosphere at all. Awesome 5000+ bottle wine list however the food and rest of the experience was just sub standard. I had high hopes for this place and I was just really disappointed. Two thumbs down

Great ambience! Elegant and rustic allowing for the fine dining experience or a casual outing. The service was great and the food excellent.the extensive wine list could have been overwhelming without very the knowledgeable staff. Kudos to the chef and many thanks to Christina and the rest of the staff that I encountered on duty.

Appetizers were fresh and tasty. Florentine rib eye steak had a perfect sear on the outside, and cooked a perfect medium, rare inside. This restaurant has an enormous wine list.browsing through it is an experience in itself!

This place is high on my list. Everything is delicious. The wine selection and Scotch selection is outstanding. They do change up their menu often so you should always visit this place to try new things. Lunch time is not too busy so good for business meetings. Staff is very professional and service is perfect and precise. There is plenty of parking. I would like to mention this place is expensive so maybe save this for special occasions if you are on a budget.

My wife and I had our wedding dinner at Via Allegro and it was a truly memorable and exceptional night. We were a small group of 9 family members and opted against a set menu. Their wine and scotch selections are probably the best in the city or even country. In terms of service and food, everything was superb. We chose a number of appetizers to share family style then everyone chose their mains and desserts off the regular menu. All of the food was delicious with ample serving sizes and perfectly cooked. The Sommelier, Wendy, was very friendly and knowledgeable in helping choosing and describing incredible wines and making the night extra special.

We could not have wished for a more perfect dining experience on our big night and we will certainly be back.

The hostess was upset we did not make reservations despite the fact the restaurant was empty. The food was okay, nothing spectacular in comparison to the price. Service was okay. Don't understand the hype, better options for Itialian cuisine.

A bit pricey but very good wine list including a $7,500 bottle! Loved the decor and service. Pasta was good but nothing exceptional. Great expresso and gelato for dessert. Wish I was into port cause they had a really big list as well. I would definitely comeback.

The atmosphere is great, the staff were attentive, and the food was great too. My only issue came at the end when I had to pay the bill. Apparently they don't accept dedit and since I rarely use credit I had a mini panic attack.

Despite arriving at a time when there were only 6 other people in the restaurant, we still waited an uncomfortably long time getting our drinks. The rest of the service was as would be expected from a higher cost dining experience.

The food was great, however, the pork ribs were ridiculously over priced at 20 dollars for 5 small ribs.

Place shows obvious signs of decline.
First thing was that our reservation could not be found even though I knew who I had spoken to when I called.
After some discussion we were seated without coat check service. Did not know that had been eliminated as has the bread for the table.
Service itself was friendly and mostly efficient. Appetizer was taken away while we were still eating and had to take what was left and keep it on our plates.
My main course was taken away before I was actually finished. I got the impression staff was in a big hurry to get things done.
No hand towels in the ladies room, just a roll of toilet paper on the counter.
All of this would have been acceptable at lesser establishments but at Via Allegro it simply doesn't stand.
Very disappointing.

Amazing time in this awesome restaurant. We can look at the vine and special old high end drinks department. Best staff with 5 star service quality. We come from Berlin/Germany in summer 2017 and never forget this place, thank you so much for your friendly and for take time for us.
