Via Cibo

Chicken Parm was way over cooked, and chewy like it just came out of a microwave. Pasta overcooked. And I didn't even get a bun with the meal, but everyone else did.

Salad was lettuce with a couple tomatoes.

Overpriced for what it is. Almost 30 dollars for the chicken Parm and I was still hungry.

This is my favorite pizza restaurant in kanata! The pizza is awesome. If you love gelato and pasta, it’s a good place too. I love here not only the food. The environment and the staffs are perfect as well.

Worst food ever! Food quality was very poor
Carbonara pasta had burnt bacon that crumbled into the whole pasta making the whole dish bitter and unedible.
Barely any sauce or cheese, terrible taste. The 2nd item alfredo pasta was same.only noodles, barely any sauce or cheese. Garlic sticks were very oily and unedible.
Basically we had nothing to eat. I won't be ordering again from Cibo.

Good pizza! Came out quickly and tasted great! Good value for the money. Pizza is a personal size but it was plenty of food for myself and my 2 daughters to share. Better food and value than some of the local competition.

Takes them an hour to make a sandwich. After three orders being canceled due to delays, I’m no longer going order from this place. I feel bad for the Uber drivers who sit in their parking lot for 40+ min waiting on pick up.

Ordered the Pollo E Pancetta to-go and when I got home, realized they gave me the wrong order and it’s too far to go back.

The red sauce has no flavour. Added veggies and it was a skimpy portion full of onions. Chicken was mediocre. Overpriced.

I love the concept of Via Cibo and used to frequent often for lunch, but must say, the pasta quality has gone down dramatically over the years. The pastas are always EXTREMELY dry and barely have any sauces, like very very conservative we’ve had to request to add more sauce on numerous occasions. I thought this was the new norm until I tried a Via Cibo in Calgary and it was definitely not the case – only this location. Dinners aren’t exactly cheap here anymore, I would strongly encourage to go elsewhere. That said, diversity of menu is nice but the marquee thing, the pasta is seriously lacking. Disappointed, and former frequent customer. I just can’t do it anymore.

This restaurant is a cafeteria style place. You order at a counter, your meal is made to order and brought to your table. The selection of wood fired pizzas, pastas and other Italian style foods is good. My pizza had prosciutto, roasted tomato pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella and arugula. Very good. The restaurant is licensed and Italian beer is available. Prices are a few dollars less than full service restaurants, but the food quality is comparable. Would go back.

I'm not a fan of Cafeteria style dinning. Order your food Cafeteria style, seating is Cafeteria style.you have to be ok with sitting beside a stranger when the place is busy. Servers were nice and friendly. Pizza was very good, more authentic to traditional Italian, in my experiences. Pasta was flavorless and sauce was watery. Music was a bit loud in the restaurant. Go for the pizza, take-out is best.

This place used to be one of my favourite restaurants since day 1, but now everything has been changed ever since the business was sold to a new owner.

Purity - disgusting. If you look at the (supposed to be) clean dishes and cups they're full of oils. Dis.gus.ting.

The staffs - seem to be ok but they are all new and not trained well. They don't seem to know what they're doing.

Foods - ok, but deep fried oil has been re-used too much and burnt. Deep fried foods are all dark and they taste bitter from burnt oil. A lady from another table complained that her rose pasta doesn't have creamy rose sauce. I looked at it and i could tell 100% it was not rose pasta but regular tomato sauce pasta. The employee said it was rose. The lady said there's no creamy rose sauce. The employee insisted she guaranteed they put creamy sauce in it. Our rose pasta came out after and ours looked 100% different from the lady's 'rose' pasta. I ordered an Alfredo pasta as well, half of the noodles were not cooked at all and i could picked up a big chunk of hard noodle. They got me new Alfredo with different kind of noodle. Pizza dow was burnt too much.

I found my pizza is overly cooked half way of my lunch. But when I request a 50% refund, the manager did a good job. So I’ll leave a 4/5 and I’m willing to visit the place again and see how it goes.

The food here was fabulous! As a fast food- type restaurant, it cannot be beat. The food offers a number of healthier options which will appeal to all ages. The menu is extremely varied and all of it is delicious. You order and pay at the cash and then your meal is brought to you and the service was quick and efficient. The atmosphere is a bit more upscale than a usual fast food restaurant. All in all, a great experience.

Staff was super friendly, I ordered the portobello chicken with pasta and even though pesto isn’t usually one of the options they made an exception, food was ridiculously good and reasonably fast for what I ordered. Will definitely be back!

It is sad this place is going downhill. Customer service…they all look like they don’t want to be here, not helpful when suggesting anything. A server tried to dismiss me asking for vegan options saying absolutely everything is not vegan. Right… fries? ! Ya and salad? Hmmm. So she was proven wrong and I still received it with no dressing. I went to ask for the Italian dressing and they were unfriendly, robot looking facial expressions. Will not come back. Not to mention the cherry tomatoes in my salad were quite mushy:/ do not get a garden salad, not worth it!

First of all the people working here are awesome considering they are young. They were helpful polite and made our food perfectly. Everything we orders was on point. I recommend the garlic bread sticks and pizza

They gave me a pizza with a pool of grease on it, had grease running down my arm just trying to eat a slice. Definitely won't come back here.

Garlic bread was amazing, pomodoro was perfectly Al dente. Caprese salad was divine, the balsamic vinegar is so sweet and the bocconcini is fresh!

I have been to this restaurant a ton since finding it. The food is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable and affordable. The pizza brings me back to eating pizza in Italy, I absolutely love it. Wonderful sit in area and the staff are quick and courteous.

Always love this restaurant. Service is quick and friendly, good variety of italian food. Great spot for team lunch if doing a tournament at the nearby sensplex.

Ordered catering for a party. It was ready when they said it would be ready and it was absolutely delicious and they included everything I didn't think of, cheese, bread and cutlery! Would order catering again. Thank you

Via Cibo has potential to be one of the greatest restaurants of all time. The ability to take on peak Justin Wong in his hungriest form, serving him tonnes of Fettucine Alfredo at such cheap price and efficiency is unmatched. Averaging 15 breadsticks per visit, 3 tubs of gelato, and 2 “thank you, have a nice day”’s on 100% FG, and a record breaking VORP of 50, Via Cibo is putting up prime Gordon Ramsey numbers and it hasn’t even reached its prime. Gonna be scary in the future when they acquire new pastas. Nobody can stop them.

Bon deal pour diner. Pizza délicieuse (mais manque un peu de Fior di latte pour la margharita), bonne petite bouchée dessert au Nutella. Petit endroit sans pré tention, j'y retournerais avec plaisir!

Staff at Via Cibo was very friendly.
Restaurant was very clean.
The linguine alfredo was delicious. Warm bread that came with the dish was delicious and perfect for 'fare la scarpetta'.
Unbeatable quality/price ratio.

Great food and atmosphere! The lunch menu is a great deal, you get a pizza or pasta, side salad or donuts and the choice of pop or Italian soda (seltzer water with a choice of syrup shots, BlackBerry was very delicious!).

The pizza was very good, the type that is soft and folds well with gooey cheese and minimal grease. The donuts were served hot and fresh with chocolate syrup.

The chicken parmesan sandwich was good but the chicken was not at all crunchy which is the only complaint.

The only thing that was confusing was that the entrance and exit doors are not labeled so we went in the wrong door not knowing you had to order at a counter first then pick a seat. But it was great and I would recommend the pizza!

The saddest "pizza" I've regrettably eaten. Used to be a lot better but looks like they're busy pumping out orders rather than putting care into the food. I've previously had the bomboloni which felt stale or refried.

The garlic bread with cheese was too good. The grilled veg.cheese pizza was also fine, but it had like really less vegetables and the French fries were good too.

Casual place where you order ahead at the counter. Offers good, fresh Italian food at friendly prices. Only miss was the Caesar salad which was too salty. So that was relatively untouched. Otherwise, pizza and pasta were great.

Extremely, surprisingly slow. It's sad, because the food is good and we've ordered a couple of times. We could cope with the slightly high prices (for what you get) in the past to support a local business, but coping with a 55 (fifty-five) minute delay after an hour long lead time is a bit much to ask. Disappointing.

I walked in and I ordered the Gnocchi Gorgonzola. I waited at the table for my order. Then, after 10-15 minutes they delivered my food to takeaway. I ate this meal for the first time. It was delicious! The service was quick! The cashier was very friendly and it wasn’t busy at the time.

Pasta is usually good but I was disappointed with the quality of the gelato. It was freezer burned. Also they tend to give extremely small scoops and you tell their staff give more. You should not have to ask the staff for this. They need to better train their staff.

Way overpriced for undercooked, tasteless “authentic” pasta. The Alfredo sauce was reminiscent of the tears of men I drink on a daily basis, very watery and flavourless.

Both the Fettuccini Alfredo and the Chicken Parm had this issue.

The presentation of the food wasn’t like what was advertised on Uber Eats at all. It was reminiscent of a meal that would most likely be cooked in a trap house by a bunch of teenagers.

I would rather eat at East Side Marios and that says enough.

Very long waits for delivery drivers. Food is never ready at pick-up time. Management needs to do a better job at coordinating delivery pickups so that drivers aren't stuck waiting there 10-20 minutes

The vegetarian options are awesome.

First time trying this place and everyone enjoyed it. It's kind've like an upscale fast food restaurant with great tasting, good quality food. Prices are very fair for what you're getting. Service was fast and friendly. They even have Stella Luna gelato. I liked the interior decor. I did find it smokey inside. Probably because the cooking area is exposed for you to see. We dined on the patio though so it wasn't an issue.

No longer suitable for in restaurant/patio service. They are totally focussed on skipthedishes/ubereats. Waited 45 minutes last time and close to an hour the time before while a stream of delivery drivers came in and out. Understandable that their model has changed given the pandemic, but they should just shut down the service at the restaurant if they aren’t going to maintain a standard. Cleanliness was also an issue. Washrooms had not been cleaned in a while and one had overflowed in to the hallway and they just put up an out-of-order sign and left the hallway flooded. Staff were friendly but clearly having a hard time keeping up with the dual demand.

Food was ok but service was the worst.the whole was floor was sticky, cashier and cooks mask, clothes was discusting.the couple next to us found a hair in their pasta, the other 2 other couple behind us never got their bruschetta order and had to ask for a refund. Just extremely unorganized.i gave 2 stars because the food was good and good portion. The small beer and wine was 9$ each.just too bad, they had potentiel

Delicious italian dishes (pasta, panini, meatballs). All your favourite pasta with all your favourite sauce combinations. Cozy atmosphere (when dining in, or on the patio).

Amazing food ans service! The quality and quantity of the food is wonderful for the price! Highly recommend! My favourite place to eat in all of ottawa, don’t sleep on this place:)

A great chain offering Italian street food, relatively quick bites, that are fresh to order, always a great experience.

Delicious small Italian eatery, great fresh pasta and panini sandwiches place to go! Tiramisu and few selections of their wine is always delicious!

I'll give a 3, the 3 is for amazing food quality and preparation. Truely deliciously savouring. They lost 2 points for an unhealthy customer service approach, I did not feel warm at all in this place, very cold atmosphere, and they don't stay up to date with the COVID guidelines. Ontario has provided more relaxed regulations and they continue to blanket the pre-lockdown rules that are no longer relevant today.
Advice to management - Stay up to date on government guidelines and make sure to not let the "pandemic" blind you. Remember how you treated customers pre-pandemic. Can you afford to lose the ones that are continuing to support you and local businesses?

I've ordered several times from Via Cibo and have consistently been impressed with the quality of their food. Salad, sandwich, dessert, and most recently pasta dishes have all been excellent, very fresh and well prepared. The quality of their ingredients is especially obvious (their steak strips are my favourite add-on for salads or pasta.) Their portions are good and I usually have some for leftovers. Their tiramisu is amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant. After the pandemic I'm looking forward to visiting them in person.

We ordered in 3 pizza’s and it took over 40 minutes to be served while they have been prepping and serving skip the dishes first!

Ordered through their website for New Years. The food was amazing, fresh, and it was delivered much faster than UberEats would have delivered it. Ordered the baked cheese ravioli, cheese garlic bread, and tuscan fries. Not a single item disappointed.

Great food, good customer service. Always fresh and delicious. A bit more expensive than chain restaurants, but with much better food.

Quality is always there and the staff were very gracious despite getting a large catering order just before the lunch rush. Our food was served in a timely manner and their covid protocols are top notch.

Fast, tasty, and reasonably priced. Was disappointed when they closed due to covid, but glad they're back open again!

Was looking forward to eating here, 3 staff inside never acknowledged our presence in an empty restaurant at 3pm on a Wednesday. Hard to support local when they won’t serve you. Went to moxies instead. Ciao!

Slow slow slow slow slow.

Staff not trained before they are left alone to serve customers. Tables were left dirty and full of empty dishes. Was in the restaurant for an hour and no staff came to clean off any tables.

Management needs to do a better job with the staff.

The food was good and would recommend the food for takeout. Only eat there if you don’t mind slow service and eating in a filthy environment.

Pizza is so good here. The spicy oil is to die for. But they definitely do not accommodate on substations or pricing. If you change one item for something else they will charge you. Still a spot I love to go once a month. Do not have delivery, I've ordered pasta twice and both times it came with sauce spilt all inside bag as they dont package properly.

This places is fantastic, the food is so damn good! Anything one choses is delicious, fresh, tasty and it brings the taste of Italy

Absolutely loved this place! Great prices, really, really good food, friendly servers, and very fast. I am Italian and cook my own Italian food from scratch - this stuff is DELISH. We tried the penne in rose sauce with Italian sausage, the spicy pizza, linguine in pomodoro sauce with meatballs, and finished with the doughnuts. Just wow! We watched everything being made FRESH. A real winner.

Excellent restaurant! The service was super fast and the food was served steaming hot. Can't wait to come back soon! I had the gorgonzola gnocchi and it was delicious. The fact that they also have Stella Luna Gelato is even more amazing. Don't know why I didn't try this place sooner.

This place is our go to place for supper every Tuesday and its absolutely wonderful. The food is amazing, service is fast and efficient, place is clean. The quality and consistency of food is excellent! Price is very reasonable and there's a great selection and specials every Day of the week.great job to the team! We love this place.

Our initial experience was amazing. However, we were a little less impressed by our second visit on Wednesday. Customer service seems hit and miss. After reading multiple reviews, it does seem to be a consensus from regulars. I also read the review of someone who stated having recieved less than expected fries in their order. But given the response from the restaurant, promising to make it right, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Bellow is a picture of our own box of Tuscan fries (just over half full). The general quality of the food is definitely a redeption here, as I can't seem to give them less than an overall 3 stars.

Nice casual place with a good selection of Italian food. Eating area is organized and clean but tables are very close to each other so no private conversations. Also seems short-staffed as clearing tables was slow during peak hours. Unfortunately pasta is not made in-house, but prices do reflect that.

It gives you an experience. What you see is what you get. Authentic cuisine and good day of the week deals!

I ordered two boxes of their Tuscan fries on SkipTheDishes and paid $7 a box and both boxes were filled halfway!

I basically paid $14 for one full box of fries.

First time trying this as take out with my family tonight. Pasta dish prices are too high for what you get. My daughter ordered the Margherita pizza and it was so over sauced that the dough was floppy and not crispy at all. On a positive note, everything was tasty.

Went here with a friend who I met while visiting Ottawa. Food was reasonably priced and tasty. Service was good, and they quickly answered our questions about items that may affect people with a nut allergy. There was a lot of seating to choose from. Will probably visit again if I'm in the area. Only downside was that it was a little difficult existing the plaza once we were leaving, but not horrible.

Via Cibo is a great place to go and dine in. When food arrives to your table you can expect a really good looking food and the taste is as good as well. Food is fresh, staff is nice and chairs are comfortable.

Went there for brunch. It was standard, though my pancetta was part under cooked (wobbly bacon.yuck!), part burnt.
The pastas and pizzas looked and smelled amazing and I will go back for lunch or dinner for sure
