Very poor customer service. Vehicles arrive in unfavourable conditions, and the process of dealing with the company for resolution is incredibly challenging, no answer at all.

I recently had the displeasure of dealing with Viamar Scilla Transport International, and my overall experience was nothing short of frustrating. From start to finish, the process was marred by incompetence and mediocre customer service. Save yourself the frustration and choose a shipping company that values its customers.

I contacted joe fortugno from sicily last year about bring over 160 lt.of olive oil.he quoted me a figure and told me over the phone that the service was door to door, he even asked me where i lived in canada.i want to note that i had tried to make contact via email before that never got a response, i also sent him several email when i finally reached canada and he neve responded to those either.its funny because one of the emails i was asking if he is interested to import oranged from sicily.i would expected an answer to that.anyway, not important now.when i reached canada i went to the office and arranged for the pick up from sicily, when i told about door to door he said that was not the case, he went back on his work, and i had no proof, thats why i think he doesnt answer emails.he gave me a very sloppy hand written contract with the figure that he had quoted me in sicily, but not door to door, so i had to pick up my oil when it reached canada.he told me it would be shipped in november, i emailed him several times in december and finally a woman from his office emailed me saying it would be arriving at a certain date in december and she attached a formal invoice, way more than the quoted price, adding such things like price increase for december sailing, whey is it my fault it sailed in december, also such costs like canada customs manifest, security and handling, whcih he never mentioned at our sit down meeting.very disappointed at the unprofessionalism of this company.

Do NOT use this company! Very unprofessional. Vehicle sustained damage in shipment. Had photos to document damage. Not only did they refuse to take responsibility, they were incredibly rude and unprofessional in the communication. You are better off finding a company you can trust and who takes responsibility if something goes wrong. Don't make the same mistake we did in trusting Viamar to handle transport.

Thank you, Viamar team! I got my household crate sent from Canada to Germany. It was longer than I expected, but mostly because of world logistic problems. Only wishes to ViaMar – to improve a customer support service for better communication.
Overall: I trust this company. They are real, honest, and reliable. I visited the warehouse in Oshawa – it safe and organised. I would recommend ViaMar to people how wants to ship oversees.

Viamar Scilla was definitely the cheapest and most efficient company I used. They all provided me with similar services however Viamar was half the cost. I was skeptical at first as they did not have a fancy package or sales pitch. However I would highly recommend there service. It was professional and exactly what was expected. Pick up at my home in Canada (household shipmen), which I loaded the 20ft container by myself and delivery to Scotland UK. It all went to plan with no hiccups. All the goods arrived and cleared customs. Delivered door to door. No extra hidden costs, or delays.

Viamar shipped a 20 foot container from Toronto to Italy, it took 6 weeks to get there, it was expected due to economic and Covid situations,
Great to work with Bruno and John, I definitely appreciated their helph and raccomend Viamar for any international shipping needs.

Very disappointing experience. John Fortugno is rude, obnoxious and difficult to get hold off. Was about to sign off on quotation and was inquiring about being libel for storage indefinitely at Viamars discretion when he suddenly told me he is not interested in my business and hung up on me. If that is how the owner of a company acts before there is a problem would hate to know what would happen with my possessions after there is a problem. Feels like I dodged a bullet here, would not recommend.
Reply to owners response: asking a question should never get a customer treated that way.

I got a FIRM quote valid for 30 days from John Fortugno for moving our personal stuff from Toronto to Switzerland. I secretary of the company told me he owns the company. I asked him a few question to clarify the quote he had given me, notably that the quote states both "any volume exceeding quoted amount will be charged at $ 425 per cubic meter" AND "rate is based on the volume quoted. If the actual measures exceed the quoted volume, an additional charge of CAD 0.5 /cubic foot will apply. I asked why he had both extras, he said it was a mistake just consider $ 425 per cubic meter.
I asked him more questions about his quote which also states "rate is based on 10 days lead time and to be performed during regular working hours, emergency last minute services is not advised and will likely result in higher costs". He probably did not like my bad English accent or my questions, or possibly he had quoted too low a price, and to my great surprise told me on June 3 2022 that he is fully booked for moving things from Toronto on July 5 2022. Basically although we are much more than the 10 days lead time he found an excuse to get out of his firm quote. I have not time to complain to local authorities about this crooked business man.

I called and emailed 6 different shipping companies working in the same realm as Viamar. By far, Viamar had the best rates. My vehicles and contents arrived to Portugal perfectly without any damages. While it did take a few weeks longer than expected (out of the control of Viamar), the foremost important point was their arrival damage free, which they did. John was always very patient and available to answer all my questions, both professionally and quickly. I would definitely recommend Viamar.

Called 2 times left no answer for shipping to UK. You advertise at least answer provide quote. People not available? Short staff? At least reply

If you want to move your furniture internationally, you've come to the wrong place: they don't know what they're doing.

This place is an absolute joke. John is one of the most shadiest person I have ever met in my life. Do not use this company for anything. AVOID AT ALL COST!

I reached out to Viamar a few months ago for general questions and a quote, Bruno answered all of my questions with a lot of patience and care and provided me with a fair price.

I was extremely surprised to see how quickly my car had made it to Germany from when I had dropped it off at their warehouse, and they treated my car with the utmost care as it arrived in the same condition I provided it in.

Had a great experience with Viamar shipping 21 CBM of household goods + a car in a 40ft container from Toronto to Belgium. As this was the first time I'm using this kind of service, I was clueless about the procedures but both Bruno and John helped me along the way, providing options to bring the overall price down. The final rate was very decent, no hidden fees or surprises. Only issue was the invoice that turned out to be to high, according to my own calculations, but that was later rectified.
So, thank you Viamar for helping us move from CA to BE.
