What a hole. Hateful nurses. Wouldn't give me water or a tea.go elsewhere. No pillows sat in a hard chair for 5 hours.hate hate this hospital

For what these doctors have to deal with I’m just amazed what they accomplish. Sure waiting is hard but please go check out other parts of the world before you complain about free health care. Even the equipment they use I can’t say thanks enough. Very compassionate caring individuals, that don’t get treated nearly enough as they should. I’ve calculated same procedures in usa. Me and my family would probably be over a million. Dollars alone just in treatments. That’s why I’ll never complain about taxes. If you’re healthy good for you, once you get sick, and you will as we are mere humans! You’ll quickly appreciate the free loving treatment and compassion you will receive. Nurses are amazing for how they get treated. I’ve seen situations, and I can’t even imagine being treated like this, yet still have a smile on your face. Thank you thank you so very very much!

It's not the bestttt. The employees are nice! But the waiting is sooooooooooooo long like WHAT? ! It took me 4 hours just to get a room.and another 2 to wait for the other patient to finish. Also why did you have to make the driveway so confusing? I was outside for 2 hours in the cold since we couldn't find our car on the 2nd floor. Overall i wouldn't recommend coming here if your impatient but sure! If you are patient. (i'm not.)

I've been taking my son to the pediatric cardiac area for a few months now. We have nothing but a great experience everytime we have been there since July. Very friendly staff, clean waiting room and exam rooms. The cardiologist was friendly and had seen us right away and a couple of appointments thereafter, the main RN has been great to work with and responds in a reasonable timeframe to any questions or concerns we have had. I've been very pleased with our experience.

Straight to the point

I'm in my late 30s and have been going to this hospital since I was a kid but alot has changed since then, specifically the unfriendly attitude of the staff towards patients.on several occasions I've witnessed patients being talked down to or straight up being talked to rudely by staff, dr's and specialists brushing off patients with concerns to their health and being pushed out the door or being told that thier symptoms are non-life threatening. Something as simple for asking for directions is almost too hard for reception to handle. I swear alot of them are burntout or uni-hospital drop outs. Whoever runs vic hospital should be ashamed of the additude of their staff towards people who genuinely just need help. We are paying thier wages afterall

I can’t thank the nurses and doctor enough for such wonderful care from my visit to the emergency department this past Monday evening especially considering how very busy they are. How lucky we are to have such dedicated professional people.
21 June 2023 12:17
Dr A Power, Dr N Power and Dr M Mura were responsible for My husband's care for several years. They treated us professionally and with compassion and humour. Our family appreciates their care for Brian.
09 June 2023 4:37
My son was there after his motorcycle accident and I can not say enough about the wonderful care he received while staying there. Everyone from Doctors, nurses, PAW’s, Porters, cleaning staff etc… I want to say thank you so very much!
10 May 2023 2:08
Once you’re admitted to the hospital as an InPatient, surviving the chaos and madness of the Emergency Department, then you become treated very well and great specialists and nurses will take care of you as long as your stay needs.
Special kudos to the Thoracic Surgery Team and of course hands down for the amazing care team of the the London Regional Cancer program, they are just Amazing!
29 April 2023 15:39
Waiting hours in emergency for plaster at the end, the review won’t make a difference but system need tons of improvement
16 April 2023 14:26
I was diagnosed with an acute form of Leukemia on Oct 4/22, I initially went to ER for treatment for pneumonia. From the MOMENT I was wheeled up to my new "home", the In-Patient Oncology unit C7, every nurse treated me with such compassion and were professional while providing care.
I stayed for nearly 40 days, and was almost sad to be leaving, although this meant I was well and continue my treatment as an out patient @ London Regional Cancer Program.
I've had 2 additional stays on C7, many of the nurses remembered me and overall, I've had no bad experiences. I raised $250 to donate to LHSF, as I was so humbled by the quality of care I continue to receive while battling cancer

We gave birth to our daughter here early 2023 and this review is solely about the rooms. The birthing room was gorgeous and perfect. Large window views, private and spacious. However the recovery room was absolutely disgusting and inexcusable. We opted for a private room, paying 410$ a night, what we received was a private room, but felt like a 10$ getto motel room. The furniture, space, fixtures and environment looked and felt like that came from and went through world war 2. The bed made more noice when you used (raising, lower, back support etc) then all the babies crying on the unit put together. Which after getting a new born down to sleep and then going to the bed yourself and trying to get comfortable on a bed that squeaks and scream without waking your new born, is impossible which is just great. The chair in the room, had the appearance that it had been in an alley and home to many cats. I don’t believe there was a single wall that wasn’t without a hole, peeling paint, or gashed. On the positive side there was a good size window, but it was useless as the blind was completely broken in the down position. To round it off the broken blind also covered the air vent in the room, impacting the room temperature. The bathroom was extremely small and just gross, of course terribly dated as well. All of this just created a terrible experience considering we paid out-of-pocket to get a private room. One would assume when you’re paying that extra amount of money that you would actually get something for it and not just feel like you’re getting taken advantage of. I understand perfection isn’t possible and mistakes and damages occur however, to this extensiveness, without repair is inexcusable and unacceptable. LHSC should be embarrassed
11 February 2023 5:40
Went ER then to OB triage. All staff from receptionist to the nurses, porter, doctor and security team are fast, efficient, nice, accomodating and helpful. Thank you so much.
25 January 2023 8:38
If I could give it less stars I would. The emergency department is an unmitigated disaster. Must be tough for staff when upper management is terrible at their jobs. You should be ashamed.
22 January 2023 2:30
Great hospital. Wait times are long but better then is expected with the hard flu season this year (2022) staff are mostly friendly but with all hospitals there is alway one or two who will make your visit unpleasent. There information seems up to date on patients most of the time. Security is good.

I have never written a review regarding a health facility since I know how hard staff work and how demanding it can get having myself worked in healthcare (I am now retired). However, after my disappointing appointment at the Rapid Access Clinic for low back pain I feel I have to voice my frustration. I am a very active person, I exercise very regularly and I am a recreational runner. I was referred to the clinic by my family doctor for chronic low back pain that after an intense physiotherapy treatment of 2 months (and me doing my prescribed stretches and strengthening religiously everyday) was not resolving. At my appointment, after being triaged by a physiotherapist with, according to his comment, special training (yes it’s this staff member who decides whether you will need further diagnostic imaging or to see a specialist) I was told that I didn’t need further investigation (never mind that I’ve never had an mri or scan and the last X-ray I had was at least 10yrs ago) and to keep exercising (he showed me the pictures of the exercises on his computer screen). Exercises which I proceeded to tell him I had already been doing for the last 2 months! He then said that if those didn’t work to go swim or try Tai Chi and when I was in pain to have a lie down! To say I left extremely frustrated is an understatement! This was an utter joke of a system of evaluating a patient with chronic, unresolved back issues. It was a waste of my time as I left with no answers and no real treatment plan. The triaging at the rapid access clinic at this hospital needs to be reevaluated and a have staff in place that knows what they’re doing. Unfortunately I cannot leave zero stars for this review because then it won’t post.but my review of this clinic is an absolute zero.
26 December 2022 6:42
Went here for medical appointments. Treated with wonderful staff and physicians. I look forward to coming back to this hospital. Highly recommended for all Londers and Southwestern Ontario residents.
03 December 2022 5:01
Worst pace ever and I don’t write reviews. Rudest staff I have met at a hospital reception. They are absolutely careless as to how they treat individuals. Try being in a hospital for 12 hours to wait to be admitted. Terrible.
19 November 2022 1:40
Wonderful people, each and every one. Thank you so much. Selfles people totally conmitted to the well being of others. Heroes.
18 November 2022 0:07
Went to emerge with pain, waited 8 hrs. Staff very gracious. Needed surgery. Excellent help and encouragement since I had to go in alone
15 November 2022 10:51
Stay away from this place. Went to the emergency with severe kidney pain, on Tuesday night. Was told, "you are in the top priority sequence". After hours of waiting, was told its going to be even longer. Imagine waiting there @ 12AM, with unbearable pain and they tell you its going to be even longer. Spoke to couple of nurses about my condition and was told there is nothing the can do. Really, its a Hospital, if you can not aid to someone in pain, why are you open?

If you value your time and want to actually end your suffering go somewhere else. These people here will not help you.
31 October 2022 7:43
Had the unfortunate pleasure of spending several weeks in hospital.

They have plastic straws which means they are not completely unusable within minutes.
This is also great because it's not exactly easy to get plastic ones from the car or the metal ones from home when you stuck in a hospital bed.
31 October 2022 0:31
Great care, HORRIBLE waits. Over an hour to be discharged on a slow day. I know it's because half the people come in with a cold but then just let them go don't hold em.
07 October 2022 12:36
This is one of the most uncompassionate hospitals I have ever been to, it honestly should be shot down.none of the staff in the emergency department care about the patients.my mom has stage 3 cancer and was brought in they made her wait 6 hours and then told her she still had another 3 to 6 hours to go before she would be seen.she was cold sitting in the waiting room We asked for a blanket they told us no we dont give out blanket to sit back down basically we are bothering them while they chat to each other.they are so rude and disrespectful I honestly don't know how these people have jobs or even in this line of work People in this field should be compassionate and caring and understanding not judgmental rude and disrespectful.
DISGUSTING STAFF in the emergency department.
22 September 2022 10:27
I had 4 visits to this hospital now. Found it to the most efficient and organized hospital I ever been to. From surgery to follow up appointments, im very happy with the treatment I received.
12 September 2022 16:28
Very unsatisfied with my visit tonight. The front lobby nurses are HORRIBLE. All they do is sit there and gossip and ignore people when they are at the desk, after they notice you are at the desk, they are EXTREMELY ignorant towards you, like your interrupting their day. My boyfriend was brought in by ambulance tonight due to an accident, he’s in extreme pain, I ask the nurse at the front how much longer, I got told “the waiting time is 7 hours, there are people in here that have been here longer than you, so you’ll just have to wait the 7 hours. ” I then asked if it’s fine if we leave since he was brought in by ambulance and she looks at me with the rudest tone and sayings he’s an adult, he can make that decision himself. ” As she had the most rudest looks on her face of disgust. Will not be returning here, as they don’t care about patients, considering he was just in a bad accident and extremely sore, and the nurses are unprofessional.
26 August 2022 23:51
We have now been sitting in peds emerg, bed side waiting to see a doctor for over two hours. Perplexed as a asked a resident doctor how long it will be until a doctor comes. She said “No idea”. As she herself and the majority of nurses and staff sit and chats about their exams, housing, summer vacation, their dogs, adopting a cat and so much more. Riveting stories I tell you! No vitals taken no check ups on patients. Simply chatting away as if all the beds weren’t full…
I understand staff shortages is real but is it really the only issue here?
Very disappointing, comes across as unprofessional, worth reporting to upper management or at least I hope they see this review.
25 August 2022 10:49
Liked this hospital while pregnant but it doesn't seem to care for postpartum patients went there because my c section is infected but was sent to emergency to be told its a 5 hour wait to be seen and to make matters worse a person was having sever heart problems and was told he had to wait to can't believe the health care system is this bad
27 June 2022 10:08

My friend was admitted to the maternity  unit on Monday 29 at 11 am. I was with her and her husband during the whole process. The experience was so positive despite all the trauma that a delivery means.   From the begining the nurses who received her were nice and considerate. At the delivery room we have no words to express all the gratitude  to Dr Dr. Emily Bachmeier, Nurses Nav, Sarah and all the staff who assisted her, who made this experience  the best they could.   Thank you very much.
31 May 2022 3:16
Vaccine passports still in effect here even though they are done with everywhere else! I couldn't get to see a friend who suddenly took a turn for the worse and was getting moved to the ICU. Rushed over from work, and was the *only* person asked to show a vaccine pass at the entrance while I was there. Everyone else just got asked if they had 2 shots and a "yes" answer was good enough. Funny how they *still* have to ask you 20 questions about if you have symptoms even if you answer yes. Waited for 10 minutes while the door gestapo called the floor, then got told I couldn't go in even with a negative test, and I found out I had to pay for parking!

Nurses and docs are taking good care of my friend, from what I am told over the phone. 5 stars for the overworked nursing staff, zero for the bouncers and the policy makers.

I'm thankful for all the nurses doctors & other staff members at Victoria Hospital in London for taking good care of me promptly without hesitation & delay
Their expertise & dedication towards their tasks have made me feel extremely comfortable with their ability to perform their duties above & beyond. Everyone from house keeping to assure upmost cleanliness to the individuals involved in maintaining the highest standards & respect possible towards its patients & staff.
Each & everyone of the staff who are employed at Victoria Hospital deserve to be commended for their duties above & beyond. Thank you once more
Michael Kopacz.

Recently stayed here in the adult mental health ward. All the doctors and nurses were amazing and went above and beyond to make my stay more comfortable and adhere to my needs. Was a very welcoming environment compared to other hospitals I’ve been in
26 April 2022 10:48
My stay here might've been different at the time. Back in 2018 I was hospitalized for 5 months. Without the nurses, staff and peers on unit 7 I don't think I'd be here today. They gave me a real chance at life, restored self control and love for myself. Again, I don't know how it is today overall my experience was life changing. I'm alive because of them in every way.

Thankful they were apart of my recovery and healing.
22 April 2022 3:20
More than 10 hours with pain and nobody cares here at the hospital. Still waiting without medication or something for the pain
06 April 2022 5:07
Waiting room is sooooo small and the baxk waiting room is a hallway.nothing to keep sick kids occupied.and cold wait is always sooo long and shared germs so you go in for one thing and leave with so much more
Most drs are soo rude.most nurse are polite (kids side) adults side I don't go here ever sooo gross how they treat adults and elderly here. I go st joes urgent care or uh
22 March 2022 21:41
Thank you, frontliners. Nurses and doctors. If you wear those uniforms, it's a blessing to us the patients and the patient's families.
Thank you for your service.
15 March 2022 11:27
Medical information malpractice and very poor communication, is a huge issue here.

Very little do they take in consideration for ones specific needs for basic procedures and other Dr recommendations specific to patient.
When a mistake is made, there is no apology and departments blame other departments for missed information. (Protecting pointing out a distinct or specific individual for the error. Due to discrimination laws).

Showed up for a kidney aspiration from out of town (and booked driver also required) and surgeon would not do procedure because they were not comfortable with my conditions and requirements. Wasted trip, time and moneys and continuing pain.
Yet I have had this same procedure repeated many times here with 2 other surgeons that had zero issues?

Very poor booking matches.
Lack of consisitant in medical attentiveness and information sharing.

More training isobviously required to educate staff on how to treat patients with special needs.
06 February 2022 3:43
My sister had the worse experience at this hospital giving birth. She tested positive for COVID_19, and the nurse wanted her to leave the hospital less than 24hours after the C-section, without the car seat. She told her that we were bringing the car seat in the morning, and the nurse wanted her to take a cab at 9 pm and said she could go without a car seat. They mistreated her; they refused to give her food after surgery, saying that the food section was closed. The nurses were so mean to her, and I pray no one will experience this. She felt like she was a criminal at athe hospital.
05 January 2022 20:49
Updated and modern facilities with amazing resources and doctors. Easy to get to location and fairly easy to navigate on site. I have received fantastic on going care at LHSC Victoria Hospital.
21 November 2021 15:46
The hospital is fine but there is no much doctors there like if someone injures very bad they have to wait for at lease an hour but the nurse are very nice there.
19 November 2021 20:42
These people don’t care, sent a young girl who’s in pain home with 8 weeks to wait. I’ve lost faith in the doctors
14 November 2021 10:54
Great place to get a broken leg tended too. I highly recommend the orthopaedic clinic for that.
10 November 2021 10:08
Last Thursday I checked into LHSC Victoria hospital to have a parotid gland cyst removed (parotidectomy) It was done by Dr. Kevin Fung, a head and neck surgeon, This was considered routine day surgery and I was to go home later in the afternoon.
After surgery however it was discovered, I had pseudocholinesterase deficiency and could not be awakened or breath on my own. I ended up in ICU for the night and monitored for 24 hours until my condition improved. I would like to thank the surgical team and also the staff in ICU for their care and probably saving my life. Of most enlightenment, however I got to see firsthand what these professionals in ICU endure during a 24-hour cycle and I can tell you it's not for the faint at heart. They usually work 12-hour shifts caring for people who can't breathe, can't talk, can't control their bowels or bladder and for the most part without care from ICU staff would lay there and die. It's a dirty job most of us would not do for any amount of money. For you people who give this hospital less four stars, shame on you. And for those people who protest in front of the hospital while these hospital workers go to and from their jobs enduring these long hours for the well being of others you are at the lowest spectrum of ignorance.
08 November 2021 21:53
Jae-Hon Lee seems nice and like he cares but he was unhelpful. He prescribed me antidepressants despite me telling him I had no interest in trying new medication, especially since I was beginning medication for something else. He repeated questions and was quick to diagnose and prescribe meds after a short meeting.
08 November 2021 10:30
Worst staff…. Worst customer service at Emergency. They don’t treat all human equally. They think people are free and come here for entertainment. Spent 13 hours waiting and not even called. I could clearly see racism at this Hospital. TREAT ALL PATIENTS EQUALLY without their race.
06 November 2021 9:14
I had a bad fall and I made a stop here today to get my lungs and neck checked out. The staff is amazing and it’s pretty quick in here. It took me about 2 hours from finding parking to getting dismissed (including x-rays and all). I would suggest this hospital to everyone. Luckily I happened to be in London that day otherwise I would have waited 7-8 or more hours at other hospitals.
05 November 2021 13:51
My mom had hip surgery and now she has an infection because they took the stitches out too early. She has to have another surgery thanks to their incompetence.
31 December 2020 19:29
Perhaps these nurses are too busy taking TikTok videos to attend to my pregnant wife, but there is no need for the snarky, dismissive and disrespectful attitude. You are PUBLIC SERVANTS, don't remember who you serve. Just another reminder how Canada's healthcare system is a failure. "Free" doesn't mean good. "Free" doesn't mean they care at all about you or your condition. You are just cattle to them moving through a machine. As is typical with government employees, they have guaranteed jobs and therefore show little to no care for their customers, or in this case patients.
13 November 2020 9:51
Its soo mashable waiting 6 hours in emergency if you have any emergency plz come ealry at least 6 hr then may be you treated on the time

After 2 years waiting for some surgery or some kinda help from both nurses doctors and all hospitals staffs finally my mom got an appointment and at 7: 30 in morning of September 16,2020 no one contacted us to let us know the appointment is canceled, my mom doesn’t speak English and she was in severe pain the day of appointment, she has very low immune system and she got to hospital when everyone telling us to do not go in hospital during current situation, the appointment was canceled by dr. Krib at 7: 30 am however the patient got in hospital and got registered through patient registration the nurse took my mom and got her ready for surgery and inject her Iv the patient got to the OR at 9: 36am and the dr that I mentioned informed us there is small problem since they forgot to tell my mom she needed to take pills three weeks in advance for this surgery, he asked us to wait so he can double check with the other dr who also in charge of my mom (R.k) health, we didn’t heard a word from him till 10: 30 and one nurse told us the appointment was canceled! The hospital is responsible both drs are responsible for the health of my mom, they have had her in hospital in current situation risked her life patient didn’t eat or hd water due to surgery since 8pm the night before, the nurse injected her with IV and had no clue that the appointment was canceled! This behavior cost the patient a day full of stress and put her in high risk and now her pain is even worse than before. Hospital and drs and nurses are responsible we need answers and need to compensation for our mom. She wasn’t speaking English and if I was not with her she would have been waiting even longer and had no idea what is happening!
We need answers and hospital is responsible to give us those answers!
24 September 2020 3:56
This amazing staff is full of Allstars and have always made our visits for our children the best they could be. Thank you!
28 August 2020 4:37
Been sitting in the hospital waiting for a doctor to see me and it's been 2 hours and still nothing, luckily this is not life and death. I'd be dead by now. Time to step up your doctor game
14 July 2020 5:18
I went to the hospital after 3 days of excruciating pain in my head throat neck and stomach. I was there for 3 hours with people coming in with things like the sniffles or one person who literally said they slept wrong and were sore. Who all got in before me. The chairs in the waiting room are set up so it's only 1 person per 3 chairs and I was in a row by myself. So I layed down as I'm in a lot of pain and a nurse comes out and tells me I cany lay there because other patient's need those seats. I was there for another hour after that and not one person sat there. Because they wernt allowed to. I'm never coming back here again
10 April 2020 0:41
Terrible nurses terrible staff terrible experience, 8 and a half hours in waiting room with drunk homeless people wandering asking for money no security or anything. I would rather give birth in a dilapidated McDonald’s than this hospital
08 April 2020 15:23
I am a bit disappointed in the way my daughter got discharged from the hospital for sick children, after going through a spine surgery to correct her scoliosis. We got sent home even though we didnt think my daughter was ready to leave the hospital care. I was also disappointed that I was told that we wont have a nurse come to our house to change her dressing. How do they expect me to change it for her? I AM NOT A NURSE!
03 April 2020 3:52
Great Hospital. The nurses, doctors, and surgeons are top notch.lots of free parking across the street.i do wait for hours to see my surgeon, but i think its worth the wait.to many whiners in these reviews
26 March 2020 2:43
Yesterday, my wife and I went to see Dr. Gray for my wife's cyst removal, although we took a very long time to find where we should go (The information that we got from our local hospital is not enough), while, we had a very good mood since we said hi and shaked hands with Dr. Gray, Dr. Gray studied all information that we provided to and he showed us where the cyst incision should be, he is not only a very professinal doctor but he was smiling all the way with enough patience to us, these giving us great confidence to have the future surgery on March 26,2020, the lady, Val of Dr. Gray's assistant I guess is a great woman too, she helped us lots that day as well.thank you all again for your great services!

My wife and I have spent many days here for operations, cancer and various other illnesses, we both have the greatest respect for the nurses, doctor's, porter staff and anyone else that works at the hospital such as sanitation engineer's, and office staff etc etc. We have always been treated with the most professional service and upmost care and understanding, Victoria Hospital is one of the best of many great hospitals in London
05 March 2020 21:41
I went it for an ergo and after the surgery went home. About an hour after I got home I fell to the floor in severe pain. I was told that if I experienced worst pain to come right back in. I was told to go to emerg and explain to them that i just got a procedure done and was informed by a specialist to come right in if the pain worsens. I was out in the waiting room for an hour then put into a tiny room that could barely fit a bed through. I was then in there for over 4 hours of no pain meds and was told to calm down and stop crying and screaming. My hubby had to keep asking for the doctor as he didn't like seeing me like this and they said we have to wait for your blood test to come back. Now im going on 5 hours of nothing for the pain. Finally the doctor comes in and I had to fight tooth and nail to get pain meds. Turned out I had pancreatitis from the procedure. I went in at 8pm and was finally admitted at 230am.
29 February 2020 20:50
All specialists here are Over Booked to maximize profits (obviously they get paid by cases). You are advised to arrive 15 min prior to your appointment, but you will never been seen until 45 min after your appointment time. Not mentioning you will be left in exam room for another 15min.

I guess that's good for the monopolized Impark to rip off your parking fee! Well the LHSC better get their share from Impart for being such close companies.
27 February 2020 6:12
Its impossible to get a hold of anyone in this hospital. Also, I was told that I cant see my doctor again if I miss my next appointment, very inconsiderate.

My husband has been admitted at this hospital on NUMEROUS occasions.dont fool yourself into thinking that this hospital or any other one for that matter care for your loved ones.at the end of the day these government workers paid by your tax dollars get paid their salaries regardless on how well they take care of you.or not.this medical system is reminiscent of the old Soviet style way of doing thing.there are no incentives for doing better so they do the minimal work for maximum return.maybe it's time to rethink how these civil servants are paid in this profession.

Don't know why there is any negative comment here. Went for my Cancer check up, saw Dr MacNeil and her under study, forgot his name sorry. Was treated with nothing but kindness and respect, one of the nicest staffed Hospitals I've ever been to
