Victory Cafe

I have been living in Toronto for about 16 years and never went to this place. Tried it on a whim and I honestly wish I could turn back time amazing food, cocktails and staff!

If you want to spend a pleasant evening, I recommend you to stop by Victory Cafe.
Wood oven pizzas make the difference

Great place to hang out in the evenings (esp on the patio), with a great selection of simple dishes. Decent beverage selection too.

Great service and good selection of beer on tap, but the quality of the food has gone downhill. It is still “okay” but no better than that.

The bruschetta was bland, without any salt or olive oil and tomatoes that were clearly not ripe enough.

The signature pizza was very light on the toppings, and the sausage and roasted peppers hardly tasted like anything

Went here for brunch and the server forgot one of our meals. When the meal came it wasn't correct and had two pieces of plastic in it. Looked like bristles from a scrubber got mixed in with the potatoes. The waiter also wasn't familiar with the menu, one person ordered an item that had listed options for vegan subsitutions and he had no clue if it was possible and ended up not substituting the eggs and just removing them. He also said he'd come back with coffee and never did. The restaurant was not even too busy at the time, we were the first table seated for the first 30 minutes. Atmosphere was fine because it was drag brunch but otherwise everything else was bad.

Appreciate that the owner reached out to try to rectify the situation but honestly the amount paid was nominal. A gift card or credit would only require me to go back and experience this place again which after 3 times of saying I'm never going back I think it will stick this time.

Rented out the inside and celebrated my birthday there over the weekend. Had an amazing time! Staff was great, friendly and attentive. Anthony, the manager organized everything for me and was very accommodating. Definitely a memorable birthday. Thank you, Victory!

Ate here just this past weekend, and had a wonderful time. Great atmosphere, and the food is to die for. Their wood fired pizza was super flavourful and cooked just right. Friendly staff and very speedy service. Will absolutely be going there again the next time I find myself in the Annex.

Bruschetta was good. Pizza could have been better. They left the very salty kalamata olives whole on the pizza! They looked like they were just thrown on there. We ended up cutting them up ourselves. Pasta menu very limited.

Delicious, well-prepared food, wonderful staff, and an inviting, charming atmosphere! My friend and I went for their drag brunch and had a raging good time. The service was timely and the food and drinks were amazing! I had an espresso martini and sweet potato hash, which was filling and nutritious and quite the way to start my Sunday. The drag queens were impressive; pulling out all 2000's diva hits and their sets were all very different but cohesive as a show. We ended up chatting with the manager on duty who was both very professional and fun to talk to. All-in-all, I would highly recommend Victory Cafe for brunch, drinks, and just a good time in general!

The five stars are strictly for the drag performers and the ONE waiter they had during drag brunch. The food tasted as if I was cooked by someone who puts raisins in potato salad. Our plates were served with no condiments (who serves waffles with no syrup), no salt, no pepper, no butter.nada. The waiter (poor guy) was so busy that by the time he returned to ask, we had eaten our food. I've tastier meals at a hospital.

I'll definitely be back for the drag show (the host was hilarious) but I'll be sure to eat beforehand.

Absolutely loved my meal and drinks at The Victory cafe, couldn't decide what to drink and then the lovely waitress Elbinya surprised us with lovely drinks and we had the best time! This place is definitely going to be my new regular! Thank you so much Elbinya!

Had a great time at Victory Cafe's weekly drag brunch today. The performers were awesome, and I really enjoyed my chicken and waffles with a few glasses of bubbly! Very good energy in this place, and I would definitely return. (The show was so fun, I forgot to take pics of my food, but I promise it was good!)

Went in for a pretty late dinner & was pleasantly surprised to find a list of Belgian Trappist beers. The food was also pretty good, the seafood risotto was Sublime, the pizza was okish, but we did order just before last orders

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE- I’ve been here many times but went last Saturday and the second round of drinks was extremely watered down and the server dismissed us- sadly as a loyal customer, I will not be returning.

I came out for a summer Sunday brunch event they are hosting summer long. (Great work Anthony!)

I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon and Green Owl vodka Lemonade.

Amazing brunch. Dave the bartender was amazing. Best espresso martini for sure. Food was really good. Eggs benedict was perfection. Drag show was so funny and entertaining. JustPeachy knows how to put on a show. Definitely coming back for more.

Pizza was surprisingly good (very good actually lol). Only reason they didn’t get 5 stars was because I ordered an arugula prosciutto pizza and they didn’t tell me they ran out of arugula till after the pizza came out. I prolly could have returned it but I’m not really a fan of wasting food and the pizza was still good

Let me be clear - I NEVER write reviews, good or bad. But this has to be said: worst salad of my life.yellow/old and slimy mixed greens and rotting apple slices. My friend and I also noticed the waiter blow a fly off of someone elses drink as he was bringing it to them - that's just gross.

After that, I was not at all impressed but I went back to give them a second chance and try their vegan pizza. SAME OLD YELLOW GROSS GREENS. NO. I had to pick them all off. Vegan cheese wasn't melted in the center. There was even a piece of prosciutto on it too! I'm not a diehard vegan, but if I was, I'd be pretty upset with the cross-contamination.

Overall, very unimpressed, do not recommend, and will probably never go back.

We stopped here for drinks because they had patio style seating and other alfresco arrangements under the canopy for di ers. We asked for the drinks menu and it was pretty varied and extensive. Asked for the Hibiscus and House draft beers. Kathy from Ireland was the perfect hostess as she guided us through the menu and even gave us tasters when we couldn't decide between fruity and a bitter IPA

The pizza is mediocre. The house pizzas. Some of them are just weird. I am not sure who put them together but they don't sound good. I took a chance on a meat one, but who puts bbq sauce with prosciutto? Totally killed the taste of everything else.
Desserts are frozen and some of the worst I've had.
Cheesecake was okay, but creme brulee, we got three for the table, two came solidly frozen, we thought maybe they were brulee ice cream. But nope, they took them from the freezer and sent them instead of telling us they were out. The tiramisu. Easy to make, but again they got it in frozen. It was so bad. So bad I had to taste it a second time I couldn't believe it was so bad.
Nice patio, the new location is decent, but a lot of what they serve doe food is. Pretty bad.

Had such a blast here for the drag brunch! Dave made sure we had a great time at the bar and the drinks he made were top notch! The food was delicious and came out quickly. Just Peachy and the Diamonds put on an amazing show and would gladly go back to see them again! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a good drag brunch!

I used to love the old location. A lot. The new location doesn't have quite the same feel. Less divey, less history.but it's nice. The beer selection was great, the Victory Fries are amazing. I would definitely return. The pizza looked great too, would love to try that next time

Was excited to try brunch at Victory and ended up having the worst dining experience I've ever encountered. I ordered the the benedict with salmon and was completely ripped off. The photos on the left are what was served. The photo on the right is how the plate should have arrived. When I mentioned this to the server he insisted it was my fault because I asked to have the Salmon benedict on the croissant instead of a bagel. Despite missing an entire salad and a very sad portion of smoked salmon, we were still charged full price for the meal and there was never an offer to re-make my meal. By far the worst experience and service I've ever had.

Went to Drag Brunch this weekend and had a blast! Tickets included a drink and food but the show was what made the experience much more special. Woke up not feeling the best and the girls made me feel so much better with a great show. Great music choices, top notch outfits and close to the west end too!

Decent service, though not speedy, food is an area with significant opportunity. Lots of room.for improvement. At least use arborio or carnorali when making risotto. The tiramisu and creme brule left a lot to be desired, though the cheesecake was ok. Apparently the burgers were quite good, though one member of our group waited over an hour for his, long after everyone else was served.

Great neighbourhood bar in the Annex. High tables with bar stools to accommodate large groups. Decent, mid-range price point on the menu with a variety of culinary offerings. I was out for drinks with friends and didn't eat, but I particularly enjoyed their Bourbon Sour!

The vibe and service were great. I went there for a drag show and brunch. Sadly, the fried chicken on my waffles were really hard and therefore hard to cut. I guess it was over-fried. Friendly servers and workers.

The pizza is quite good and they seem to have a large selection of local beers. A lot can be improved though, the service isn't the best, beers on the board are often not available and food that isn't pizza is very meh.

It’s a good place for a casual night out. Their beer selection is large but doesn’t offer a ton of different types of beer. Their pizza is ok, it seems to depend on the time of day and who is working the pizza oven. Some times it’s burnt to a crisp and some times it’s barely cooked in the middle

Service is good, staff are friendly, pizzas are lit and go perfectly with a pint or two.nice spot all-year-round! Always have a pleasant visit here.love it! Love the owner too, very personable and friendly with good manners.that may sound ironic in the service industry but you meet a lot of sour owners; glad to say he’s doesn’t fall into that cache!

We planned a friends bridal shower to take place at Victory Cafe. A group of about 20 ladies. Their manager, Anthony, was more than thrilled to help make the evening excellent! He went out his way to make us feel wanted, welcome and special! He allowed us to have a cake cut and even arranged some special beverages. He allowed us to bring decorations and was accommodating to a little bridal shower game. The food was all served hot at the same time, despite the big group. The pizza and risotto are DIVINE! Victory Cafe made it so easy for us. I'm planning to take my kids for pizza and I'd recommend planning a large party there anyday!
And, if Anthony is there.its guaranteed to be a lovely time (give that man a raise)!

Not sure if at any other given time the selections are available to all, but this particular time that I went there, they were out of a few menu items. A pizza place should in my opinion, NEVER, NOT have pizza.this is just one example.just saying.no offense

A small group, 6 of us gathers for drinks and appetizers Monday 13th December around 5: 30 - 6 pm. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Proof of vaccine was requested of all on entry and tables were set > 6 ft apart. For all of us it was our first time in 2 years gathering together indoors at a restaurant with non family members!

Can't recommend, despite friendly service and a cute ambiance.

A few concerns upon entry, kitchen employees didn't wear masks and employees/ customers walked through the dining hall without. There was an unpleasant aroma near the window, dusty walls and food on a neighboring chair.

I asked about the burger and it was recommended. The burger was very wet and didn't arrive warm. Despite the amount of liquid on the plate the actual patty was especially dry. The burger was dense, mealy and under seasoned.

Apart from a bit of char the burger wasn't really caramelized, similar to baked meatloaf. I don't expect too much from a pub burger for 16.95 but I couldn't finish it. Fries were good though.

A minor inconvenience to most but no canned beverages were available, only draught options. White sangria and my first draught choice were also unavailable.

There is a wood fired pizza oven, perhaps that would have gone over better.
