Villa Madina

Ate here yesterday. The person making the food was gruff and seemed that he would rather being doing something else. The falafel was not very good at all. It may have been the worst one I have ever had for the price charged. More importanty, although the person making the food wears gloves, he also is the person who is on the cash. The person before us paid in cash and the worker counted out the change, handed it to the customer then proceeded to make our food. He did NOT change his gloves. (My friend told me this after we ate). I would not recommend this place at all.

The food is good but as everyone said, rude customer service. I was in the line with a family in front of me ordering bunch of food and keep changing their minds. Second guy making the orders take my order which is a single wrap. While the family is still ordering and changing their minds, i go to the cash because my food is ready while the family is still ordering and changing their order. The guy at the cash asks where i am in the line and i say i’m after that family and in front of everyone with a very rude and condescending manner he tells me to get back where i was because it’s messing up the line. I get his point but they definitely should use better manners. Very rude.

Got food poisoning here. Rice was old, meat was under cooked and put hot sauce on everything happy for that or my kids would be sick with me. Day two sick

Not Approachable - they wont talk or ask you anything unless you start to say something.
They leaving the front house alone and nobody there.
Not friendly - not even smiling, greeting or saying thank you.
They don’t care if someone cut the line.
One of the staff wearing AirPods so you keep on repeating what you said.
The tall guy (photo below) seems don’t like to offer the Skewer plates #5 - #8, if you tried to order that they will say that it will take “20minutes do you like to wait or choose other from the menu”

They asked us to wait 20 minutes for the food and go back when they hit the bell. But it took 30 minutes and they just call us like someone from the street and saying its done!

We also asked for a spoon and they just gave it with a poker or angry face.

The food is great but having this kind of attitude with the staff i will no longer go back.

Food is decent, but I cannot stand the staff’s attitude problem to the point I just don’t want to bother to come here anymore when I’m in the mall. All the younger male’s here seem to clearly hate their jobs and the customers. The older gentleman here that I believe owns the place is extremely friendly and is great to talk whenever he’s around, it’s unfortunate none of that is passing off onto the rest of the staff.

We were so hungry that we did not see the negative reviews before ordering on Uber eats. We got the BOGO shawarma salad and what a mistake. The order was supposed to have two salads with a drizzle of tahini and pomegranate molasses. Instead just got a bed of lettuce with no dressing on top of chunks not shawarma.

I had to whip up some home made sauce to even make this edible.

Agreed this was a BOGO offer but at least send stuff that people can eat.

Not cool!

Need to work a lot on their customer service and they invented a new combination of meat shawarma with GARLIC when we did not ask for it. The guy who took our order does not even know their offers and he struggled to understand what we wanted never going back! Not to mention that the cashier threw the receipt on our food. This is a big disappointment for us as I consider it the best shawarma in town and I had to drive 30 mins to get there and I hope the owner sees this review.

Edit! It’s been 3 days since I emailed to obtain my refund for the food order that was never delivered to me and no response!

Cancelled my delivery order 15 mins before delivery time without any explanation. Their phone number “can not take incoming calls”

I was at Villa madina tanger outlets today, and I had a bad experience with people working there, rhey ate not organized, I was waiting to order at the cash register first he asked me to wait, and then he asked me to go at the end of the line in the other side and there ate already people coming after me and they started their order already, I told him I am here firstand no body served me, he answered with indifference and told the line is there in a very rude manner, I left without ordering. They are unorganized, not welcoming, and they lack good customer service.

I was in Tanger outlets and was in a hurry to grab a sandwich. Previously there was no Halal option available in Tanger outlets. I really appreciate them opening a halal food outlet in there. There prices reasonable. I ordered a chicken sandwich/Shawarma. It was awesome. The ingredients were fresh and was a delight to eat

You don’t charge for what comes with it and without even letting the customer know. Those who know what shawarma taste like would never eat here!

Had dinner at this spot at the Tanger Mall, Ottawa, Ontario and it was very enjoyable, as it was well prepared. The customer service is top of the line.

Ordered chicken skewer plate through SkipTheDishes. It arrived cold, was missing an extra skewer and falafel side, chicken was burnt and salty. Received a credit through SkipTheDishes, which I won’t be using again. The restaurant phone number does not work doesn’t receive incoming calls. 45$ with delivery.

*Did not give me a receipt even when I requested for a one he gave me a not official receipt, then I insisted for an official one he got mad and not polite.

The guy with black T-shirt that was closing had such a rude attitude food is alright nothing special but at least not giving smart answers to customers should be part of the job when yourself didn’t make good life chooses with where y ended up

I had chicken on Rox on last Saturday, I've been in my washroom for one day. Please if you care about cross contamination or hygiene not your cup of coffee buddy. Not even good for animals to eat, they will also end up having loose motion

It’s the second time I eat here. The first one was amazing. Today was good but not as nice as the first time. Anyway, I'll come back.

Best shawarma in Ottawa. Idk whay makes it so special but I prefer the shawarma here than most places

Sooooo good. I just ate the best beef shawarma ever. The beef is brisquet style, the veggies were crunchy and fresh. The service was great too.

Went yesterday, had a large chicken & beef sandwich. I was full all day from lunch. The meat had a ton of flavour, and one of the best spicy garlic sauces in ottawa. I will certainly make the drive from orleans again.

I have eaten 3 times from Villa Madina in the last two weeks.
The food has been amazing each and every time.
Tender chicken and rice, fresh hummus and salad. The garlic potatoes and sauce are just right for flavor and not overpowering.
I would highly recommend them!
Staff works hard to provide great service and great food.
Keep up the great work-I"ll be back and bring friends!

On the evening of Mach 21,2019 ordered beef poutine and shawarma for my wife. The server asked if I wanted freshly made fries in the poutine, which would take 10 minutes, or potato cubes which were already there. These are usually sold as a side and not in the poutine. I told him I was okay to wait. It was really good although shawarma was just so so. Because poutine was good so I ordered another one to take home for my daughter while I was finishing my food. The server handed me the take home package. At home we found that in the take home package he put stale potato cubes instead of fresh fries. This is cheating the customer.

I work in the mall, on Monday I didn't feel like going home to cook supper. And my other half had not had a shawarma from villa marina before. So I grabbed 2 and went home. HANDS DOWN best one we've had. And at a great price. The next day, my coworker mentioned that she had never had a shawarma before either. So I treated her to lunch. I found out today that she LOVED IT! You guys are amazing! Thanks for the great food. See you again!

This place is tied for my favorite shawarma place in Ottawa. They take credit cards, don't prompt for a tip on their machine (there's a bowl to drop change if you want though), and the one employee who has always been there every time I've gone is very friendly and extremely fast and efficient. I can't comment on anything other than the sandwiches but I feel they're great value for what you're paying both in terms of quantity and quality.

Exceptionally bad service. The guy behind the counter is on his phone, can see us, but stays on his phone. Both my wife and I had to call him out to get served. Once food was received, neither of us finished it. It was gross, dry.

Only one star so I could write a review. I ate there for the first time today. I have such bad food poisoning that I haven't kept anything down for hours.the chicken was pink.the food over priced and small portions and the staff rude.ate there at 2pm and still puking. I know it's from here cuz it's the only thing I've eaten all day.

Very bad service at this location. The staff mumbles, seems frustrated when you ask them to repeat. The portions are very small, my shishtaouk barely had any chicken in it and tasted bland. I will not be eating here again.
