Looks like after change of owner they reduce stuffing inside wrap, even you ask them for extra sauce or topping they don’t care, I don’t understand what kind of business person is that who are so much ignorant ….
Terrible customer service from server to cashier. The server just wants you hurry up a choose something within 2 seconds and tells you to keep moving. Extremely rude behaviour. They just want you rush and get out of the way. This is not how you treat Customers. Have a look a chick-fil-a the queue is long but at no point will they rush you. This store food is sub par and poor quality and rude customer service staff more keen on running the line fast so they can maximize profits. They will fill you plate with various salads. Everything is extra in this place. Soon you want a tissue that’s gonna cost you too. Chicken undercooked. Stay away. The cashier is extremely rude and doesn’t understand customer service. Was shouting and disrespectful. Won’t be coming back ever.
I have been regular customer here. This person working here never listen to your orders and today he was very rude. First they didn’t put enough fries coz they didn’t want to cook a new batch and when I asked for more the guy tells me you pay extra. How about you give enough quantity in first place. Also the sandwich was cold and chicken was dry. Never going back to this place again.
It was so yummy and felt it healthy. Had even options for vegetarians. Was really happy. Only thing is about the falafel, it's wqs not so freshly done, was soft and tender, usually those will be crispy crunchy and tastes fresh in the past.
The Square One branch is the best branch of Villa Madina in West GTA. The food is always tasty and fresh, unlike some other branches. Option of various salads and meats for everyone. My family usually eats here, when we are visiting Square One. Keep up the great quality.
Horrible. Sauces watered down no flavour chicken fatty. These restaurants are now using cheap products, terrible quality and charging more. Hope it closes like all other restaurants ripping people off with terrible quality. Eat at home.
Delicious healthy options, if you like meat they have meat, if your vegetarian they have really good salads, rice and falafel options. Also great portions for the price
Very bad service and I do not recommend dealing with them at all. I was there today and when I mentioned to the person who works that the amount of shawarma is very small, he wanted to beat me and insulted me.
The workers were very nice and helpful! This was my first time eating here and the food was really good! The sandwich and poutine was good! Just wish they had mentioned if it’s fries or potatoes!
Headed to Villa Madina owing to Shawarma cravings, thoroughly disappointed with the taste, quantity and prices. Picked a chicken and beef Shawarma platter, service was quick as there wasn't much crowd at the counter on a Saturday afternoon. Avoid this joint if you have an affinity for authentic Middle Eastern meal.
When I first ate here I really like it. I ordered the Kebab and they put a good amount of garlic sauce. The second time I went here, they change the garlic sauce to something like a garlic yogurt. I asked for the garlic sauce (the one that they squirt on top of the kebab), they charged me a dollar and gave me the garlic yogurt which tastes really bland. The servers here does not seem friendly at all. Never gonna back to this branch again.
This place does not even deserve one star! The owner of the restaurant does not smile at the customers! I entered the restaurant in the morning and ordered chicken shawarma, and it serves customers from the old shawarma from the day before! And when I ordered falafel, the dish was not like the picture at all, and the salads, hummus and falafel were almost mixed or on top of each other and there is no place for each item separately! And when I objected, the owner told me this is what is available, either you buy or you can go, and with that I bought and the food was very bad! The falafel is not delicious, on the contrary, it tastes bad as if it is old, the salads are not tasty and the treatment is bad, and this is the first and last time I go to this restaurant!
Quantity is not good at all.they r charging too much. Lazeez and osmows shawarma charge less and there quality n quantity of food r also really good. Not sure I will ever come back again to villa madina.
Cheap & stingy lol. I feel generous even giving them one star when they deserve the same energy lol. Increases the price of food but at the same time puts like two pieces of lettuce and doesn’t add turnips until you beg them for it repeatedly as if you’re not a paying customer. And they had the audacity to ignore us. Customer service needs serious work and should not act like it costs them an arm and limb to put vegetables one PAID for. Definitely avoiding this place.
Ordered a rokbox - was very disappointed. They added too much sauce which made it extremely salty. The older man with a beard and the female cashier looked like they didn't wanna be there, but other than that they were okay and doing their jobs for the the most part.
IDont go one more time today I been ther the one employers but maybe the owner give me 4 chiken sadwich and he put in me little bit my wrap he savina but I pay 50 d
I have seen the rating but I still want to try but it’s disgusting and the chef looks non welcoming. The box included only rice and chicken! Not worth of money. The lady on counter is good but!
My husband and I, are fan of this place. Lovely people & amazingly delicious food. The hummus, kebabs and salad is very good. We had our Eid quick-bite at the place few days ago - Samer and others in the counter were very polite, friendly and nice.
Zero stars if I can. We just got chicken skewer for our kid and it smelt of burnt rubber. We opened after walking a while in the mall to see how charred the pieces were. It was super bland and tasted like carbon. Why would someone sell something like this? How is this allowed to be run like this? Tourists like us get fooled to pay such price for lame service and food.
The old man gave me a dirty stare and the poutine is just too salty to the point it makes me cringe i can only taste salt with 10 dollars i couldve bought something much better unacceptable and the reveiws of this location speaks wonders the worst place in square one foodcourt by a longshot just disgusting
There is no doubt the chicken platter tastes good.
But….
What about the customer service?
Except the girl working on the cash everyone seemed like they don’t respect the customers. Had a very straight face and a weird attitude while asking for options.
Also it’s actually like an assembly line, half of the platter will be prepared by guy x and the other half by guy y and you move around the counter to place your order and ensure that both the guys listened to what you want. The experience can surely be improved.
And most importantly the quantity is very less for the price they charge and as compared to what other shawarma places provide.
Worst people behind the counter. It was as If I was ordering at a run down factory with people who didn't speak English and hated their lives. The middle aged man was just yelling out " NEXT" everytime another customer needed to be served. He was shouting at me when I asked him a simple question about the menu. Had zero ability to communicate with anyone. I left the order half way and walked away. He obviosuly didnt care to apologize. I would not recommend this place to anyone in fact I think I will complain to the mall management for this restaurant Villa madina @ sqaure one
I tried this place for the first time and I was very disappointed because the food did not taste good. The chicken was terrible and the tahini was very sour and very uneenjoyable. So pricey for something no worth it. Don’t even bother getting the rokbox. They just put rice and chicken.
Good tasty food provided for a quick bite to eat. Friendly staff who were willing to repeat what they said when I couldn’t quite hear them in the loud food court.
Extremely rude customer service. Clearly this is not a personal thing I’m dealing with as many people in the reviews have a problem with their customer service. Never coming here again.
I will never eat here again. Food is terrible. The hot sauce doesn’t taste good. And the food taste like garage. I feel like I’m eating sick peoples food
I was at this place today and it will be my last visit. The men out there are very rude. They must get some training on customer service. Very small portions too. Not worth the money.
I got a large falafel wrap. I asked for garlic and hummus, the first employee spread the hummus and garlic out the majority of the wrap into each end of the wrap, comedically leaving nothing in the center. For this reason I asked for extra garlic, got that but he spread everything into the edges once again, I could taste this. It's like he had no training or idea on distributing the sauce for the whole wrap. I wanted all toppings including 4 chilli peppers in the wrap as this location does not have pickles. They refused and then when I insisted an employee said he'd give them on the side. I also asked for tabouli and he refused then said it'd be extra, I said sure and he ignored it. Finally when it's time to get my pickled chilli peppers the employee turns around like a child and ignores me. They didn't put tabouli even though I accepted that they'd charge extra. Their cashier had to get me the chillis on the side. Before turning around the employee lectured me about how the wrap can't have too much stuff in it. This contradicts your own company's decisions to have the same amount of toppings plus pickles at the BCC location. Won't ever come here again, the vegan garlic piqued my enthusiasm but the customer service is off putting. Disappointing. Good food with an annoying and arrogant employee.
Last night I bought Chicken Shawarma Plate (Item # 02) from Food Court of Square One Mall in Mississauga Ontario, cost me including tax $14.57. I was really surprise when I started to eat in food court that it has having only 5 to 7 chicken shredded pieces and plate name is Chicken Shawarma Plate. With the same price others shawarma plate serve with lot of chicken quantity. It was really disappointing to me and I know how you franchise making money. Will never go to buy food from Villa Madina again. Do not waste your money for chicken.
Some of the worst food in the Greater Toronto Area. I will never forget in 2018 I came here and the food was horrible it’s so horrible that sometimes I think about it and come here to look at the reviews the other reviewers are continuing to review poorly on this establishment. I do not understand how these people make money and are still in business with the food that they serve is unbelievable I still dream of my refund as I spent $17 on there food 4 years ago.which I honestly feel like I should’ve donated to a food bank, but instead was take from me. What a shame.
The business looks good and fresh at first glance but the service and food is zero. The Kebob I got was burnt from outside and uncooked from inside. I had good experience of shawarma from many different business but I got disappointed with this service. They can be better if pay attention more to their service.
Horrible customer service owner of the store doesn’t know how to talk to customer very rude food more worse then their attitude never recommend to anyone
I'm so disappointed with the quality of food that Villa Madina is putting out. I even asked them at the store if this looks like what is advertised and I paid $12+ (Rok Box) for is as advertised and 4 people standing behind the counter said yes. Full of rice with 2 spoons of chicken masked with tehani. Villa Madina you have lost a loyal 20 yr customer today.
The old guy at the front who was preparing my food was so rude. He asked what I wanted in a disrespectful way and aggressively made my food. I also noticed an encounter with another employee that he was arguing. I’m not sure if he’s the manager but he looks like he runs the place with his terrible attitude. Terrible work ethics and not a professionally run business.
I used to come here alot because I work in the mall. There used to be two young guys who worked and were nice but now there’s this old guy who fails to provide excellent customer service.
Not coming here again because the employee was rude and made me lose my appetite.
I have a greet experience. Besuni is an amazing man, he always take care of me when I go to order food. He has an excellent customer service. Food is very fresh and delicious, highly recommend Villa Madina place
It almost feels like they train their staff to rush for everything. Apart from very few employees, most of them push you to go quicker, they give you half a second for picking your choices. You feel like if you think for a full second, they are just going to flip off. And this behavior goes whether there is a lineup or not. And if you are ordering for the first time, it becomes even more difficult.
For years, It has always been the same. Hoping they can improve.
The Rox-box is great especially when the have beef, they don't always carry it so you have to ask, the garlic sauce is just right and the spicy sauce isn't super hot or bad, service could be a bit better and maybe have beef more readily available.
TERRIBLY RUDE SERVERS AND EVEN TERRIBLE QUALITY OF FOOD. WATCH OUT FOR THAT SPECIFIC MALE SERVER - HE IS QUITE COMFORTABLE WITH CHEATING EACH CUSTOMER HE HAS TO SERVE. Used to be good before pandemic era, but since then it’s all down the drain. Avoid the place, if you want to continue having a good day.
What Villa Madina once was, is definitely not any longer. Small portions, dry food, bad customer service. Yep, the staff taking orders and serving food, are completely out of touch with cooking or communication skills. Which in turn would make therm essentially useless.
There lots of other restaurants out there, people don't have to come here.
I wonder how much longer they'll be able to afford the SQ1 rent with such declining clientele.
I don't understand why so many people complain about the service. It was my first time ordering and the staff were very patient and professional. I ordered the chicken and beef shawarma plate and it came in a HUGE portion. Meat was delicious, salad was fresh, would totally recommend to friends
This place has great fresh food for a decent price in the food court of Square One. However, I would not show up end of the night, as they stop making fresh food/salads, and it gets kind of stale or old looking. Not as appetising as when they're busy.
We had falafel shawarma plate. Falafel was delicious, shawarma not up to the mark, okish Been there on a working day when it's less crowded, so experience was good.
Came here for lunch before the Dr. Seuss Experience. The staff was incredibly rude and unfriendly. They rushed our order, and were not attentive in any way. They were completely disrespectful to myself and my girlfriend. Would not recommend this location to anyone. Portion was also extremely small, and chicken was dry. If you are eating in the Square one food court, anything would be a better option than this. Save your money.
VILLA MADINA SQUARE ONE - CHEATERS AND VERY RUDE STAFF This is my first review in my life I am writing. Villa Madina square one location are the worst customer service I have ever seen. They are charging different price than the price mentioned on menu screen. Quality of food specially chicken and beef was not fresh. THEY ARE REALLY CHEATING PEOPLES.
The overall experience is not good The staff is really rude, not even courteous to welcome or good day, I never eat shawarma with rice but they have this new thing so that's why I tried and bring it home. First he put very little rice and even these rice are soggy, then he put lots of roasted potatoes which are hard from inside, the Arabian style Salad which is famous for chopped and taste was not properly chopped with no taste, they just cut pieces and placed it. The chicken was not fully cooked even the guy handle it was not convinced but he packed it may be because of rush time. Only cash counter girl was smiling and handling customers politely so that's why these two stars. So my experience and rating is not good for them and not recommended.
I was surprised by the reviews, how can it go so wrong? But still I gave it a try 2-3times.and yes it was one of the best shawarmas I had in GTA.its mind blowing, lip smacking.just select the sides and sauce right
This Villa Madina's shawarma platters might be the best tasting ones over GTA, but it's a shame the portions were rather small. Really enjoyed the flavour of the beef/chicken shawarma and the spicy rice.
Middle eastern food has much more flavors than sourness. This place has only one flavour. 90% food had only 1 flavour, sour. Customer service was good but the food sucks.
Took a few napkins from them after buying a shawarma plate and the cashier says ‘thats too much I can only give you one’ haha! These guys act like they’re a 5-star restaurant when the food is less than average and we had to settle since it’s the only halal spot. I wonder how the business is still running given these unprofessional staff don’t even know basic customer service skills. Anyway the kfc next to them gladly gave me more napkins than I asked for!
Food is under cooked and stale. Portions are ridiculously small for the cost. Absolute waste of money and time. Better options than them. Will never go back. #Garbage!
The so called "Manager" was absolutely disgusting and does not know anything about working in the fast food industry. I politely asked her for a refund because my rice was uncooked, in which she responded she was unable to do so. Rice has bacteria on it that his harmful to health if improperly cooked and I wasn't going to take that risk. I showed her proof that not one, but TWO types of the rice were uncooked, because they would not break even after squeezing them. She refused to give me her name, stating that "its none of your business" and therefore I took the liberty of taking a picture of her and posting it. Do not eat here for your own health!
At the beginning of the day I would have rated this a 5. I've always loved Villa Madina and was super shocked to see all of the low stars. I have not had Madina for about 5 months but have had it plenty times. I don't know what happened, but the food was very bland and sad. It was just slapped on like prison food and definitely not the Madina I loved. Also, I happened to actually witness the bad attitude of the employees. Another customer was not happy with something and the cashier kept telling him that he is not getting his money back, which is not what he wanted. After he left she proceeded to mock him. For now, I am not returning here 1 star.
Wish I could leave negative stars. Went here for a fast meal before work with my husband, who was grabbing food from somewhere else. While I was ordering my food, my husband, who speaks Arabic, came and met me in line. Before I could continue my order my husband was extremely angry, and told me not to buy food from here. He told the people preparing my food that they were extremely disrespectful and that I was a paying customer and did not deserve to be treated like that. Turns out, the men preparing my food were insulting me as I ordered, calling me a ‘stupid white girl’ and saying that I didn’t know how to order and god knows what else. This is disgusting. Don’t go here. The staff are extremely rude and will disrespect you right in front of your face.
Very cheap restaurant. There's more bread than actual toppings. 2 to 3 years ago I swear they'd load your shawarma so full and big it looked like a burrito. Now it's just so empty like you won't enjoy it. I don't know what happened to them from being soo generous to being soo cheap especially considering their high prices. I really wish they go back to being generous and filling their shawarmas but I'm not going there anymore since I can get more with their prices from other restaurants.
Food is good. Personnel is super friendly and helpful. I was on the phone all time while ordering and paying. They did accommodate me in the best way possible.
Simply imperfect shawarma (from their tagline) the plate i had was soggy with hot sauce, salad dressing and garlic water.potato slices were bland.the less I talk about the portion of chicken shawarma i got the better.
