Normally our favorite lunch spot, my colleagues and I frequent enough that our favorite - the owner Perry remembers our name! Can't say enough great things about him!

Today we went and were very disappointed with our service because of the older waitress with grey hair. We had her before with no problems. Today she started by spilling our beers on our table and forgetting our order initially and coming back. When the food came out, each of our 3 orders were missing something (fries, a water, and no tomato on the burger). We also had to ask again, twice, for the ketchup. We have all worked in customer service so went with it. However, I tipped less than normal and received an extremely rude reaction. She made a huge scene kissing my coworker on the neck yelling "THANK YOU FOR THE TIP". I looked pass this, until we walked out saying goodbye to Perry who greeted us friendly, and the older waitress then deeply glared at me as we left. This interaction made us all feel deeply uncomfortable and we will likely go to Duke's, the other local pub, from now on.

Great cozy atmosphere. They serve wonderful snacks and amazing comfort food. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

I walked in with my entourage, got a table, then Jill came over, she was kind to us, energetic and made our night memorable. She is the only one who noticed i was Bruno Mars ;)

Always had a good time coming here with friends and colleagues. Though they're the Village Genius now, they'll always be known as the Village Idiot in my heart. Came here recently with a group of colleagues for a late dinner. Got the John Nash Sandwich, Chicken Parmigiana, Honey Garlic Wings, and a Flatbread. For drinks, tried out the Tennent's Stout and Delirium Red. As usual, this place doesn't disappoint with the food, everyone enjoyed their meals. I especially loved the sweet chocolaty notes from the Tennent's Stout-a very nice dark beer. Service was prompt and friendly too-shout out to Liam for taking the time to make sure he got everyone's orders correct. Atmosphere is great with a nice dim ambience and wide open windows (except for the dreaded DT Toronto traffic noises haha). All in all, this is a classic pub and one of the better ones in TO. Worth checking it out if you're around Grange Park.

I've been to many pubs in Canada, but this one stands out. The attention to detail in the decor, the quality of the food, and the friendly service make it a must-visit.

This pub has become my go-to spot for a relaxing evening. The ambiance is cozy, and the live music adds to the charm.

We had such a great server! And this place has a large selection of beers from Europe and some from Ontario. Super comfy seating and beautiful inside. Feels like you're in an old Euro tavern with friendly, happy people!

The service here was really quick and incredibly friendly. I went on st. Pattys day and had an irish coffee which was beautifully made and also very tasty. I also had the sundried tomato fries which were also really good. I would definitely come back to this pub if I'm in the area!

Sister pub to the "Town Cryer" also has an extensive range of international beers on offer and a menu to match. The service is excellent, efficient and friendly and the atmosphere is great.

Owner Atef also owns Prenup, Town Crier, and of course, Sin and Redemption right next door. I've always opted for those three, since the beer selection is a bit broader than Town Crier. But I tried out Town Crier last night, and it was charming in its own way. Pretty similar decor, but the menu is a bit more British than the Belgian/German feel of the other three. This pub was a bit less busy than the other three tend to get. I enjoyed that atmosphere quite a bit - great corner spot for a few quick rounds. I've normally taken my dates next door, but the quietness of Village Idiot may be more advantageous in that sense.

This is one of my favorite places is Toronto. The service is always great and there is a wide selection of beer from all over the world.

This is my go-to pub whenever I have a chance to pass by this area! Rustic vibes and they have an amazing selection of beers! Service is rather hit-or-miss though. We went there for St. Paddy's and got a grumpy server who looked like he was having a really bad day! But still, it's a wonderful place to have a drink especially in the summer (open space)! Price is great too!

Great pub, good selection of beer and very nice and quiet atmosphere that helped us to discuss and talk in spite of being a large group. The iditot fries are a must try.

I love these small intimate pubs. Amazing beer selection if your missing your fav Belgian or English beers.

After they got their tasty adult bevvies they were approached by a random female stranger whose behaviour was bizarre and unrelenting.

Your crew saw the red flags waving and, bottom line, your staffers didn't hesitate to help, coming to their patron's aid and keeping them safe.

Your act of compassion will be forever remembered.

Ordered wings 1/2 hot, 1/2 honey garlic. Server brought us all honey garlic and said she was out of hot so gave us hot sauce on the side. That wasn't what we ordered. Then our fries arrived mostly bottom of the bag fries, barely scrap fries. Not much bigger then hash browns. Then we had to flag her down for the bill which took another 15 minutes waiting. Then the bill was overcharged. Ordering fries with the wings is $4 extra. I paid the bill then noticed we were charged $6. Told the waitress. She said we were wrong and defiantly asked us if we wanted to see the menu to prove us wrong. I said yes. She returned 5 mins later dropped it on the table and skirted away for 10 minutes. Had to flag her down again as she seemed to be avoiding us. We told her she was wrong and she giggled and put the menu under her arm to walk away. Reinsisted she humor us and take a look. We had to show her in the menu. She laughed and said oops, the system bills it that way and didn't seem to care that it was wrong.huh. She smiled giggled and left, didn't offer to fix the bill. This could have been handled in a much different way. Not planning to come back.

Place seemed not too packed, but we had some wait before, after ordering food and later when was time to pay. Nice waitress but there should have been more staff. Got kinda creeped out by I someone on there staff when asked for the washroom. Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Good choice of beers though.

The drinks are cheap, its an ordinary neighborhood pub, service is great specially during the late nights. Kitchen is open pretty late, i had a pasta there and also the flatbread nothing is outstanding but nothing to complain! You pay for what you get so its only fair! Great spot for drinks, no questions.

What an awesome pub, completely outfitted in old ski/snowboard gear. Great place for a pint and a Panzerotti, it’s a beast.

I liked the pub but the server who was taking care of our table was kinda cold and made me feel a little rushed.

Despite being very busy and quite crowded, the food was great and the staff attentive. Great place to stop for lunch if you go to the AGO.

A great low key downtown pub. The staff are super friendly, the food is absolutely amazing, especially the fires. All the beer is extremely fresh and delicious, plus there is a great selection, mostly fine European beers. A perfect date spot for anyone downtown looking for a real restaurant, not a franchise.

Crazy expensive. Horrible euro-centric beer menu. 90% chance that when you actually find one of their beers to spend $8 on, they will be out of it. They are constantly out of many beers. Aren't you a bar? You had one job. Also, smells like urine.

I work in the area and walked by this place numerous times. I had a friend from out of town call me and needed a place in a pinch to go out for supper. I gave Village Idiot a try. Upon arrival we were welcomed by all the staff. It set a good tone for the night. I had there Village Idiot burger and my friend had the Roasted Chicken. Both meals were outstanding and beyound my expectations. First of all were can you get a home made burger and fresh cut fries for 14 dollars. Some of these new hip burger joints are charging more than that for a burger alone and are very underwhelming. The servings were large and the fries may have been the best I ever had. Great vibes and ambience, dimly lit with a few candles. A welcome relief from my bright office. I look forward to returning and sampling more of the menu and trying some of the beers on tap.

Beer was fine. Dish was so so. The server slightly looking like Benedict cumberbatch was rude as he carelessly drops the dishes on the table, the way he talks to the customer was just below my expectation. Washroom you can find 200 flies around the toilet. Enjoy.
