Horrible experience.rude people.car was supposed to be done within the day of saturday when i dropped it off.it’s now monday morning and i went to pick it up and it’s not even done.they got my phone number wrong so i never got a confirmation.horrible miscommunication, don’t go here.

Friend needed a tire change and oil filter replaced along with an oil change.
Mechanics refused to change oil because they "couldn't get the oil plug out". They could tell he didn't know a thing about cars so they stole his money. Charged him full price for the oil change, after not changing oil or putting new oil in (only oil filter change). The least they could have done was only charge for the oil filter. Crooks.

Always an excellent experience here. Very pleasant and professional, and I can always trust the work and recommendations they provide. Could not recommend them enough!

If I could give a lower review I would.my boyfriend got his car “safetied” here charged him an insane amount of money and these workers don’t know what they are doing.
He took it to another auto shop because his car was having major issues after leaving vinnies and it turns out they put his tires on WRONG. They didn’t do anything to make sure the car was safe but charged him as if they did. This place needs to be shut down.
Learn to do your job better.

Vinnies original quote of $280 jumped to over $600!
Women beware!
Took my car in with a noise in exhaust. Fixed it with a $3.19 part with a bill for $144. I was happy that it wasn't the entire exhaust. A few days later we noticed the noise was still there. I was going out of town and couldn't go back immediately, then the shop was busy so I took it in 3 weeks later with the same noise. I asked them to do a tune up as well as I was moving away and felt I needed the work done before I left town.
Second visit.call from Vinnies at 11: 16
stating estimate at $280. The kid on the desk told me that it would be a while because the parts were coming from out of town. I consented.
Followup call at 3: 15 stating that it was taking the guys a lot longer to get at the spark plugs because of the intake manifold and it was going to be $606.64. My response was wow that's a lot more than expected. No offer to discontinue work or ask me if that was ok, because obviously the work was already started.
Text at 3: 36 (20 minutes later) saying work was complete.
Obviously the work was almost completed when the call at 3: 15 came in or it took a lot less time to put it back together than it did to take it apart.
I went to pick up my car at 5: 30 and asked to speak with Vinnie about the bill.
When I tried to address the issue of having been there 3 weeks ago for the same noise I felt like there should have been some compensation right off the bat but he completely ignored that stating the noise was coming from another spot.
If the noise was coming from 2 places why not fix them both at the same time? Had I been given the quote of $606.64 at the start I would have gone for a 2nd opinion.
Vinnie blamed the young kid on the front for forgetting to quote me the labour. I understand he is learning, but there is no way that the customer should have to pay the price. After conversation back and forth, Vinnie then threw his hands up saying that he was going to let us work it out because it was coming out of his (the kids) paycheque anyway. I asked to see the receipts for the parts. He showed me what he was charging for the parts. I agreed to pay for the parts and half the labour. The difference in the quote from the first call to the final bill was $326.64.
Vinnie told me that I should have told them to stop the work, insinuating this was somehow my fault.
Even with only paying half the labour on the 2nd visit it still cost me $554.10 for the 2 jobs.
And you're going to make that poor kid pay out of pocket! Shame on you. Aren't you making enough?
I always try to support local businesses because I was a small business owner. If I had ever made a mistake like this I would have sucked it up and done some retraining. I would never have blamed the customer, and I certainly would not have charged them for a mistake made by my business. I settled on paying half the labour because I was not going to let that poor kid go without a paycheck by making him stick to the quote.
My whole experience at this shop for 2 gaskets worth $6, spark plug change, and an air filter was going to cost me $751. That's ridiculous!
Sadly I can never recommend Vinnies.

I had never been to Vinnie's in Guelph before but I needed a safety inspection done on my mom's car. They were able to make a few necessary repairs and completed the certification quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

Friendly staff, Great mechanics. I had ignition problems which prevented me from starting my vehicle. They got me back on the road and ready for work. I definitely would go back to them.

Great Honest Mechanic. Will only fix what is needed and won't push you to spend money where is not needed. Definitely recommend this place. Has great location to serve you.

Came here to have my winter/ summer tires swapped out. After a month, the lugs loosened up (after they were retorqued). My tire could have come off and killed me or someone else. Terrible way to conduct business.

Vinnie is hands down the best automotive shop to go to. If you can’t fix it on your own, bring it to Vinnie. I’ve been going to him for years from small stuff all the way to major repairs and each time is flawless work, and even better customer service!

Our vehicle needed new breaks, they were metal on metal. We called several shops but told it's busy tire season and we could book for the end of May. Vinnies asked us to drop it off and leave it for a couple days and they would try their best to look at it. Took them 1 day and they had it repaired. Appreciate the concern for our families safety and the ability to squeeze us in.

Vinnie's is the best in town! When the dealership couldn't fix our car issue after spending $1100. Vinnie's fixed the issues and for a fraction of the price! Great guys! 10/10 service

Had my muffler replaced at the Woodlawn location a few months ago. While driving away my check engine light came on so I turned around. They were nice enough to check it free of charge but they insisted the codes stored were nothing to do with any work they performed. O2 sensor etc…right!
A few months go by and I decide to have my car looked at by another mechanic. They tell me whoever did my exhaust work did not put the catalytic converter or other exhaust components back together properly therefore I had exhaust leaks causing 6 different error codes to appear.
That being said, yeah they were nice at Vinnie’s but I’ll never take my car there again.

As a Co op student that spent the school year here i can say that its absolutely one of the best places to learn at for becoming a mechanic because you get hands on experience with numerous amounts of vehicles and the other mechanics will help you whenever you need it. As a customer it is a bit on the expensive side but it's worth since the parts are of very good quality and most jobs are done within the day.
