2023, twice this year I have had cashiers approach me at self check out and accusing me of not scanning items. Both times I showed that the item was indeed scanned already before I was approached by presenting my receipt the first time and scrolling through the screen to show items scanned.
One of those times I was approached while I was still scanning stuff which makes no sense as I am literally still scanning stuff and wasn't at the payment screen.
I find it insulting that I would be falsely accused of stealing twice and neither of those times did anyone apologize.
Paying customer with receipt in hand being treated like a criminal, how absurd.
Just had an amazing experience with a woman named Judith working in the vacuum department. Extremely helpful and friendly. She went out of her way to help me and we even shared a few laughs! We need more people like Judith working in Walmarts I will come back to this location just because of her!
I placed an order through my Walmart app at noon on Sunday for delivery between 5 PM and 6 PM which is the available slot that they had available. I then got a text message from my driver at 5: 30 saying that he had been waiting for half an hour for my order so that he could get it to me between my timeframe of 5 PM and 6 PM he then text me again and See where my order was I then phoned customer service and they basically told me there was nothing they could do. They didn’t know they called the store. The store didn’t know my order has been picked yet and there’s nothing that he could do about it and then hung up on me. Just and said if he still waiting and he he was at the counter. Nobody helped him and nobody could tell him where my order was. It was done 7: 30 PM. My order still not arrived. I called again and asked if I could cancel my order because I work at 5 AM and I wouldn’t be up to receive the order he said no that I was to wait until the end of the day which didn’t provide a time and I asked again, can I please get a refund because I won’t be able to to stay up to to receive the order and he said no I then basically hung up on me again, and waited until 9 PM called as they had already taken my money and I asked again for a refund because my order still had not come. They finally after 25 minutes on the phone issued a refund and at this point it is 9 PM. I work at 5 AM they made me wait for no reason and money is tight, so I wasn’t able to go buy additional groceries for my children to have lunches for the next day so disappointing this is the worst experience I’ve ever had I would never ever ever shop at this Walmart ever again so very bad customer service I felt so bad for the driver, who waited two hours for my order to be delivered and he never made the sale. This is very, very awful Walmart. I’m very disappointed.
Want to wait in line for one of the only 3 self checkouts open because they only allow us to scan and bag our own items in small groups now? Why can't they hire more people to work for an amount that won't allow them to survive?
This is the second time happened to me, if you’re busy bagging your groceries the cashier is taking advantage on you. They triple punch an item and void one. Is this how you treat your customer? This is bad, watch out...
Hands down the absolute WORST WALMART I have ever been to - and my brother is a director for Walmart in the US, so I've seen a fair number. Bought a loaf of bread - not even on sale - it was moldy inside! So gross. The grocery side is messy, small, and not well stocked. The place looks untidy - for a Walmart - and staff seem to hide out somewhere because I had to ask a security guard where to find an item. Things are mislabeled or put in the wrong places a lot. I will never, ever shop here again.
Great breeding ground of quality walmartians. Oh the people you see here! As for the store it’s typical Walmart. Shelves are empty and the staff are clueless but most things are cheaper.
Mapleview Walmart in Barrie is also one of the stores in this area where racism is on display all the time (I have been harassed at this store more than once). I had gone to the store and picked up two baking trays and did a self check-out. I knew what I wanted so I was not in the store for a long time. After I scanned my two items and was close to leaving, the associate came over to me and ended up scanning me from top to bottom with the scanner that is used to scan products. As an adult I was appalled. Asked her why she did it. She could not give any proper explanation. I called the store and reported the incident which was reviewed on their security camera and the store was able to confirm what I reported. Giving a verbal apology was not enough. Walmart, you need to train all your staff on the rights of shoppers under the Human Rights Code. There should be harsh consequences when something like this happens. If not, it will continue to happen.
This review is for Liam that was working over in the toy section today Monday December 20th. He was very helpful with finding a fun toy for my daughter's best friend. He was also knowledgeable about products in the store and where to find them thank you Liam for all your help.
They've put up lots of security TVs with the words "recording in progress" in capital red letters flashing on the bottom, makes you think that they believe you're stealing stuff. They've also taken out a lot of the checkouts and replaced them with self checkouts. We've been shopping at Zehrs and No Frills more lately. I'm sure Walmart will survive but it'll do so with ever decreasing amounts of Our money.
As with most stores I'm upset about the increasingly growing numbers of self serve cash outs. Wal-Mart has added a second set. This in turn makes less room for real clerks to check out people. Handy yes if you only have two or three items but if your older and have trouble seeing these machines don't cut it. Now someone who already has trouble now has to stand in line 4 times longer (which is also harder on people with disabilities) in order to get out of the store. I feel sorry for cashiers who might have lost hours or even their jobs to this "modern way of shopping".
Beer section is always wiped clean. Not sure why that's a common issue here? I also tried to purchase an item and was told no because it was coming up as the wrong description. So she refused sale. Why run a store if you won't sell stuff? The "manager" or "supervisor" at self check out was rude as heck. I would not recommend this location to my worst enemy. Such a waste of time
Typical Walmart. Absolutely no womens clothing in small and extra small sizes. When I asked, I was told they don't carry small size women's clothing. Absurd.
I dont live in Barrie but this use to be my go to Walmart. I find the store dirt and messy especially in the produce section where I feel it should be the cleanest. The last time I was there was 10/22/21. I am in no rush to return. Also what is with the self checkout? Walmart (and every other store) eliminating cashiers? It's just sad really. I'll stick to the wasaga Walmart now.
This self checkout system is pathetic. I will never never use them, asking elderly and people to stand in a line to go to a checkout is disgusting. It is all part of governments in the world to brainwash and control the customers. It is the same the world over and I for one will not get controlled or brainwashing. Get all the checkouts back nobody wants self checkouts
Never any carts available in store in your way in. Associates at the self serve are not sanitizing checkouts after use and telling customers to use them.
The 1 star is for management as they truly represent the company. The staff are amazing, helpful, respectful, kind and try their best and deserve 5 stars. However, when you have management that is disrespectful, rude and doesn't know what customer service is, it won't be long before staff catch on and act accordingly. Wal-Mart represents itself with a smiley face, but if your management isn't happy, or your staff, if they don't like or agree their position, duties or environment of work, than maybe they shouldn't be employed in the retail sector which requires the above criteria. Especially not in leadership roles.
It's a Walmart, so it is what it is. Problem is, this is a pretty bad Walmart as Walmarts go, primarily because shelves are often barren in the grocery and pharmaceutical sections. I've talked about this particular location to my friends that work in management positions at other Walmarts, and they tell me this location is a joke. I send them pictures like this and they can't believe it.
I really like the curbside pickup when they're on time, which is seldom. I don't believe the staff are to blame. I think it's poor management compounding with COVID.
I hate myself for going here but it's convenient and they do actually have good prices on some stuff.
This walmart is the worst to ever shop at. Customer service is lousy. Non essential items are to be opened on Friday however they have already taken down the signs and ropes, but no employee says anything until you try to check out. But don't try to say anything about it cause it gets you nowhere.
I was shopping for canned raw beans. I asked an associate where i would find it and they directed me to the canned bean isle.however the only beans that were in that section were the canned baked beans (the sweet stuff you warm up and serve) and she said those were the only beans they have in the store.come next week and im doing casual grocerys. MEXICAN ISLE. They have all their raw canned beans.in the mexican section for some ungodly reason. I understand refried beans as i am part mexican but all types of raw bean? Really? I understand associates cant know everything they stock. But to say they dont carry something without asking someone else who might be more knowledgeable is alittle annoying. Anyways anyone who is looking for canned raw beans.its in the mexican section of walmart.
Save yourself time and don't do the pickup orders, they won't have what you're looking for in stock. "Will substitute equal or lesser value" they had options in stock but the shift manager told me that there was no diet pop at all, went into the store and there they were! Missed orders on my pickup and had to go back for them, Called the store, can't do anything, called corporate, not authorized to do anything. I guess the old saying customer is right is no longer. Won't be back!
Customer service is decent.upset that I can’t purchase some BABY ESSENTIALS since one or two aisles we blocked off due to the new COVID restrictions. Like seriously? I seriously feel bad for the cashiers trying to figure out what’s essential or not.
Packed to the brim. Not following covid protocols AT ALL! The international students employees and customers REEEEKED! Could smell them all through out the store! Walmart talk to them about personal hygiene PLEASE!
The staff are nice and never had any problems with them. Only problem is that they never seem to restock anything in the auto or craft department. Before covid I had to wait over 6 months just for clothing dye. Not to mention their quickly dwindling yarn stock which doesn't seem to be getting refilled any time soon.
January 9 2021 9: 30 AM a maskless couple with a child was shopping at Walmart. A lady could confronted them. A scene in sued with the maskless lady screaming. A code yellow was called, and management came running. The end result is nothing was done because of the maskless couple sight medical reason. I was never was a fan of Walmart but they put my 80-year-old mother at risk by doing nothing.
Great place to pick up inexpensive stuff when you're in a rush! So glad they didnt fllip out during the pandemic and change their store hours like the rest of the world.
The shelves are always clean. And the phone barely gets answered. Its frustrating but I live in the area and I like the prices so I'll always come back. I just wish that when they advertise something is for sale they order enough stock.
Don't park in a RV here won't tell you if you are going to be towed or not. They said that because the smart center owns the parking lot. Even though other Walmart's are owned by smart center and will tell you if you can park Barrie Walmart won't give an answer.
The cashier at night (around 9pm) was unfriendly and felt uncomfortable to aporoach. Almost as though she wasn't even speaking to a lady. Nice standards
Im a lesbian and I don't even want to speak to the girls here that work at night.
Oh, and FYI they really set off my overly-religious-peoples' radar here at night btw. My instincts tell me of a christian persuasion. With a street culture on the side:)
people wear sweatpants around here: s Cars often have headlights out around here? Weird.
This is the only one I go to, always pretty busy, staff is friendly but the store organization is bizarre stuff is all over the place nothing makes sense for placement
Worst employee ever NIDHI she was trying to be too smart made me feel so down and took over myitems and went on giving attitude if u have employee like her u r loosing ur customers Had a big issues with her today and now i am meeting with lawyer on monday wont spare her! BE Ready
It's alright for a superstore. I prefer the one in the Southend however because this one never seems to be stocked properly. The shelves always look like someone is moving the entire department or they're just bare. Much better selection in the southend.
Great Shopping place to be at! Lot's of assortment of products to get. Like Groceries, clothing's, electronics, toys & games, movies, lighting/lamps, furniture, books and utensils, pharmacy, automotive parts and other automotive products!
Also Walmart does have good prices as well! Oh to mention when you are wanting to get something to eat there is a McDonald's located inside the store.
I like it because everything is there but lately the shelves are always empty and in the middle of the day too! If they restock every night and open at 7 am, why are the shelves empty by 12 pm? Just saying!
Good old Walmart they are all the same customer is always right even though he might not be. I love their price match policy. They have my complete loyalty. Way to go Walmart
