The freshly prepared food came was hot and steamy. The service was super quick and it packaged tightly. We had veggie spring rolls, shrimp spring rolls, pad thai and cashew/chicken stir fry. Tons of office workers stopping by at lunch time. Great place for take out or sit on one of the small tables outside to enjoy that deliciousness immediately!
This restaurant is extremely tiny, so I don't recommend it for families. If you want to dine-in I would recommend to call ahead first as they only have two dine-in tables inside. The third space was being used by items belonging to their staff but they do have one picnic table outside! However, it's next to a car mechanic shop so it's your call if you want to it there!
The food, however, is just one of the BEST THAI restaurants in Ottawa! Their Yellow Curry of chicken and potatoes in a mild yellow curry made with coconut milk is my favorite. My daughter loves it too because it's not spicy. Their papaya salad is always fresh, great balance of ingredients and the perfect addition to any dinner order! The only salad my daughter ate was Ceasar Salad until their Papaya salad! I also really love their chicken coconut soup. It's my absolute favorite.
Prices are reasonable. My only suggestion for them is to make a better spring roll.
I’ve gone to Wandee four times now, and each time I’ve ordered the same AMAZING THINGS! - Egg rolls as an appetizer, and the Pad Kee Mau noodle dish.
This is by far some of THE BEST Thai food I’ve ever eaten! As much as I would love to order something new to try, I’m just loving how flavourful, filling, and fresh everything with my regular two things taste!
Ridiculous restaurant to deal with. No idea how many times I’ve had to go back because they get the order wrong or they have suddenly closed at a random time. Food is meh but service is horrible.
The tastiest Thai food and the nicest people. The woman who runs this place even taught me how to cut a carrot into a flower as a garnish. I have nothing but love for this place <3
The meal was reasonably inexpensive, but the food was mediocre at best. 'Mildly spicy' dish had loads of chilis visible throughout and was definitely more 'moderate' than 'mild' (not enjoyed by the children). The other dishes were okay, but only just okay. Nothing I would feel the need to order again.
We usually order food on special occasions in my family to avoid disappointment and they have never let us down. Best Thai food in Ottawa. You can really trust them. Always super busy because they have huge fan like me.
Even though I got confused with the order, Sean was really friendly towards me and sort the issue out in his busy schedule.
Just wonderful! Full of flavor, authentic and super tasty. Service was so friendly and helpful when I was wondering what to try. So far, out of all the Thai restaurants I've been to in Ottawa, this is the best.
Poor customer service ruined the experience at this otherwise tasty restaurant.
Edit: response to owner: If there is a language barrier then you need to address that with staff and help them improve.
Restaurant told us it will be ready in 10 mins! They were clear we ordered.
The request was simple - to put meat and egg on the side. This was understood during the phone call and in person. Nothing more than that.
You did not do your very best. If you are the owner and promote this poor customer experience, then your business will not do well regardless of some good cooks which is the only good part of visiting your place.
Details: During a 4 Hour drive to Ottawa we called and ordered one fried rice after discussing with the phone attendant whether it would be enough for 2 to 3 people. Upon arrival after 30 minutes we were told the order was not made in case it was not enough for 2 to 3 people! We were famished and disappointed.
After reviewing the size of one takeout box we decided to order two and waited 20 minutes more. $33.79
When I asked for three paper plates and three cutleries the lady refused and only provided two plates and upon Insistence 3 cutleries.
We decided to eat at the picnic table outside the restaurant as dining inside was not allowed. When the lady saw us managing with the two plates she walked outside and offered one more plate. Guess she changed her mind.
After the meal when I asked if I can throw the takeout boxes into the garbage she offered to take the bag and did it herself which was nice.
However the overall experience was impacted by the initial poor customer service and we will not be returning to the restaurant despite the good food. Customer service, customer Experience and professionalism matters. Thank you
Ps. Perhaps the staff can use some customer experience training.
Food was good, I would say a bit pricy but the owner was really nice and accommodating. A few table outside if you want to eat on the spot but watch for moschitos.
