Wang's Noodle House

Probably one of the only (if not the only) places you can get authentic Taiwanese food in Ottawa. The space inside is very limited and looks pretty run down, but the food definitely reminds me of Taiwan.

Highly recommended for Taiwanese people looking for a taste of home.

During my ten-day trip to Katong, I tried all kinds of Taiwanese delicacies. Wang Ge’s was the most economical and affordable, and it tasted very Taiwanese. It reminded me of Taiwanese snacks!

Quite disappointed. We had lunch here occasionally when we were at bywart market. This time the rice is spoiled. The smell and taste is disgusting.
We told the staff about the problem. He just gave us another rice and it is spoiled also. We did not eat the rice and left the whole portion of rice. You can see it in the taken photo.

Dirty, rude service, there was a hair in my dry noodles. Only bubble tea quite good, food very average.since I've lived in China, I can recognize when a place is good beyond the appearance, and this was definitely not the case.
I had digestive problems with this food.

Its a small restaurant in Byward market serving home made BBQ chicken, pork chop and wonton noodles. Deliciously made, reasonable price with bonus of nostalgic bubble tea. Service was prompt and ambiance for dine-in is spot on.

Crowded but only because everyone knows how good the food is.

I ordered the vegetable noodle soup. The noodles were fresh. Overall, decent place with nice staff.

Wow, what an amazing place! We got two soups - one wonton and one bbq chicken. Both portions were so big, the noodles were cooked perfectly. I really loved my chicken and my husband enjoyed his dumplings.

I think this place is so so so good and definitely worth trying.

I ordered a small soy milk black tea with boba and ice, and the Boba was soft and delicious. The milk tea was delicious, and when I spilled it by accident the owner offered to give me a replacement for free and gave a cloth to clean up the mess. 9999999/5 stars if I could.

I am a chinese for 22 years.this food warmed my soul when i was starving and on the verge of passing out.feels like home (sabah, malaysia). I recommend the braised pork rice and taiwanese popcorn chicken, portion big and filling.i am map.

Très horrible experience, la soupe au poulet sentait chimique, et goûtais chimique. Après 3/4 boucher j’ai du la jeter.maintenant j’ai mal au ventre et reste juste à voir si je vais aller mieux ou tomber malade.de plus! Les prix sur le menu et le prix qu’on paye ne font aucun sens! Il nous a charger 10$ de plus qu’on avais prévu payer

Purchased a milk black tea. It was alright - it was essentially just milk with some tea flavour - not sweet. Drinkable but wasn't exactly what was expected when you order bubble tea.

Best Taiwanese cuisine in the world. Yes, in-the-world, that includes Taiwan. I was born and raised in Taiwan, live in a city that has plenty of Taiwan restaurant and traveled to Taiwan occasionally.
Ottawa is part of our 10-days vacation. At first, I didn't expect much from this restaurant. It looks small and unorganized. The tables and chairs seem uncomfy. We ordered 4 different combos, the combo includes boba tea. I sampled my wife and kids' orders. They all tasted great. I can't believe my tongue, so I have to try it again and again until my family has to stop me from finishing their meals. The chicken and pork are juicy and crispy. The boba is not too soft and not too hard. It has the perfect balance. Too bad it was our last day in Ottawa. Wish I can visit Ottawa again in the future.

Delicious, fast service and our food was ready about 15 minutes after ordering.

Very impressed as it's only 1 person cooking and doing everything themselves, it makes me sad to see bad reviews with how hard he works

Wonton noodle soup was excellent! It wasn’t very busy while we were there but it still took quite awhile to get food; it would not stop me from returning, but I would know what to expect.

Highly recommend the pork stew with dry noodles! Delicious, flavourful, and generous serving happy I found this no frills, hole in the wall, authentic little space. Looking forward to trying their other dishes.

The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was very crunchy and tasty. Would have been great to have ketchup condiment as an option but very good on its own too. Their bubble teas are also yummy.

This place is the best, one of my favourite places in the ByWard Market area, owner very nice and skilled at what he does, he is also passionate for his style of cooking. Great bubble tea, my favourite one personally is the lychee fruit tea with the boba pearls, also my favourite dish is the BBQ Chicken, always so delicious and have tried it multiple times. Great place for family run business, this place is worth checking out!

Delicious! Affordable (for Canadian prices), small business, and with the kindest guy attending. Had a great time, and got full with delicious Taiwanese food Pork Chops are the best! Had dumplings and was awesome!

If I can give a 0 star, I would! The foods are probably the worst Asian foods I ever had in my entire life! I am a Taiwanese American and have lived in Taiwan, North America, Europe, North and Southeast Asia, and I can tell you that the foods are the worst of all that I tried outside of Taiwan and not even remotely relate to anything Taiwanese! We ordered the braised pork rice. The meat was so tough, dry and salty and was worse than any jerky you can buy off the supermarket. The wonton soup was merely soy sauce plus some fish essence and just purely salty and artificial. The taste is off, The service was super slow. We waited for almost 30 mins. Kids were hungry and looking forward to some good Taiwanese delights but ended up eating these awful, disgusting dishes! I feel so shameful for the restaurant that they claim their foods authentic Taiwanese. Taiwanese foods are much much better and please do not take this as a real Taiwanese foods experience!

Their bubble the are amazing. The girl worked alone and she served us fast despite we were 6 with différents orders. Higly recommand this place if you want a refreshing bubble the.

Wang's has been me and my wife's go to spot for noodles ever since she showed it to me years ago. Quality has stayed great over time, I basically always order the hot and sour noodle soup with an order of popcorn chicken. Prices are great for such tasty comfort food and the owner is a really nice guy. Yes the place can be really busy at times and waits can be long but to me that is just a testament to how good the food is.

Paid $9 for 5 small pieces of calamari. Was not impressed one bit.

Edit*** forsure the calamari was less then 10 pieces. Also it didn't reach half the box. The popcorn chicken was a decent size. Not going to complain about that.

We ordered BBQ chicken soup. The Soup was good in all but the chicken was not good at all. I won’t recommend this. The chicken was overcooked and not tasty at all. I repent ordering a large of this.

Wang’s Noodle House is literally my favourite restaurant in the market. You cannot get better noodle soup anywhere. I love to get the seafood noodle soup and the Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Absolutely incredible flavors, always so tasty. If I could rate it more than 5 stars, I would!

Wang's has been my favourite spot for over a decade. The food is always made hot and fresh and the taste is worth coming back for. Over and over. I'd eat here over anywhere in the city. 10/5

Not clean. We asked the counter person to wash a blender lid that FELL ON THE FLOOR. He did not wash it and put it back on the machine and said it was not our order so we shouldn't worry about it. With or without a pandemic this is unacceptable. Cleanliness is key in food business.
