Waste Connections Ottawa Bin & Dumpster Rentals

I have been a client of Waste Connection of Canada for over 8-9 years with my business Ottawa Children's Montessori Center but my recent experience with the Territory Sales Manager Aaron Barton is that I can not put in so many words but here it is. I was on the verge of changing the company due to ongoing billing issues when Aaron gave me a call and asked me how he can make it better for me so in future there is never an issue.

He talked me and made me understand how the new billing system works and why I am seeing such a high spike on my bill.
He spoke to his superior as well as the accounts department and got me am amazing deal which I thought was never possible.

He was professional but friendly and I felt at ease with discussing all my issues. He also visited me at my work to say hi to check if everything was running smoothly and to put name to a face.

I was so impressed with his professionalism, being responsive, gave me a great value for my money and in the end I made a good friend. I would highly recommend Waste connection of Canada to my friends who have business because of professional like Aaron Barton who is patient and understanding and took time to help me and would help so many others.

He is even coming out to see us to make sure that the services and products they provide are suitable for our needs.

My experience has been to act as a liaison on behalf of the Corporation doing business with WCCI in regards to contract and pricing issues. Eddy Wilson at WCCI was very polite and responsive and professional to work with. He took time to understand my client's issues and then he resolved the problems, greatly improving the customer's satisfaction. Eddy was very prompt to reply to all phone calls, texts and emails while we addressed the issues and he did everything he said he would do to make the customer happy. This company needs to be sued. They will damage your car with the steel bin containers, and will simply ignoring the fact even if you have concrete proof of that.

Hard to believe all the 5 star reviews are real.
Save yourself the headache and stay away from these guys unless you want to become one of their scam victims.

The sales team is great with words and will offer you the world. They will convince you the company is great. They will get you to sign a contract and then they will never answer your call again.

Once you're under contract, you will only talk to their customer service team. Their role is to tell you why your bin was “blocked”, which is a $25 charge each time. There’s many many reasons why the bin can be considered “blocked”: the 1mm (yes because that’s just too much snow to go over) of snow in front of the bin, the ground in front of the snow is wet, or god forbid not salted even if the ground is completely dry, rain makes the ground wet so it’s a safety hazard for them to walk on the driveway. Any number of reasons they can give you for not picking up.

If you ask to cancel, they will laugh in your face because you signed a 5 year contract.

I pity everyone who is in the same boat.

Hi everyone I just wanna let you know don't use this company, this is one of thief company I never seen before they charged me for nothing even i canceled the service

We are echoing a previous post. As a independent business we rely on
our garbage removal which is contracted to Waste Connections.
They have been our service provider for many years and we had no concerns about the service until the last month and half.
We have been in contact with Waste Connections several times to resolve problems with the changing pick up schedule and blocked access due to the changed schedule and a following $25 fee. Our rates have also gone up with no notice.
We have been dealing with customer service here in Ottawa which frankly has been abysmal. The customer service rep has only helped to make the
situation worst and seems only to want to argue the legitimacy of the blocked garbage can charges.
Looking forward to hearing from someone in management who cares to resolve the problems. As we also no longer have a sales rep to speak with.
Not happy at all. This has been nearly 2 months and not resolved. Many hours wasted.

As a business owner we deal with garbage. It's a fact. However, if you're thinking of going with this company keep a couple of things in mind:

1) The sales team is great and will offer you the world. They will answer your questions and convince you the company is great. They will even offer you Senators tickets to sign! They will get you to sign a contract (pro tip: NEVER sign a 5 year contact!). Then you will never hear from that person again.

2) Once you're under contract, you will deal with the customer service team. This team is responsible for telling you why your bin was 'blocked' (which is a $25 charge EACH DAY). Usually it's because it snowed during the night and the truck couldn't get into your driveway. Or there was a car slightly blocking the road. Or any number of reasons that were out of your control.

3) You will deal with a different manager every time you escalate. They won't be able help you. Sometimes they will make a decision to move your bin to another location on your property without telling you and charge you a $150 fee.

Thought about giving 2 stars because of how good the sales team is.but honestly it's better if it stays 1 star. This is my first one star review and I really wish I didn't have to write it. ‍️

BE AWARE
As an restaurant owner, The last thing you want to worry it's the garage service. But I been with this company since 2016, nothing but headache. So make sure you read the contract teams carefully because they can increase the rate more than 20% within your signed contract period and you can't broke the contract without penalty. So to me signing a Contract with them is to locked yourself in so that they can increase whatever the percentage rate they want. As advice make sure you understand the rate increasing each year before you signing the contract.

New contract June 1. My recycling now hasn't been picked up for 23 days. Such amazing service.

Don't patronize me. You don't pride yourself on anything, or you'd do a better job. I can sum this company up in one word: LAZY!

If you existing Waste Connection customer and you have small problems or concerns, ask to speak to Chris Evans! Or you are new potential customer who is looking for honest service and contract, ask for him again!
In past we dealt with 3 other Territory Managers and he is the only one who made things clear, right and the most important fair! Waste Connections are very lucky to have employee like him!

Thumbs up to truck 169! Roger and Pierre. They made my day. I'm a senior woman, barely walking, using two canes. I needed to get a mattress from my car to my upstairs apartment. I asked them if they would help me. Without any hesitation they delivered the mattress into my apartment and placed it on the bed. And they absolutely refused to be paid for it. It seems that this location has only nice people working there. I talked to two ladies

As a new contractor to the area, I had the pleasure of of making an introductory call to WCC, but more specifically Kayla in Outside Sales.

It was immediately apparent that I was dealing with an organization that had the experience and tenacity of a veteran company, yet the eagerness and enthusium of a small start-up business. My emergency quickly became their task at hand.

Kayla exhibited the soft skills and understanding of people typically employed as guidance consellours or 911 operators. A pure delight to speak with, all while being mature, calming, and courteous with subtleties of bubbliness and energy when appropriate. A definite asset to her employer and clientele. Qualities rare in today's day and age. I'm glad I phoned the number seen on so many blue and white waste vehicles collecting waste around the Ottawa area.

An absolute amazing place to work, with great staff from the top to bottom. This translates into happy customer service and drivers who want to help clients with their issues. The mentality and environment directly translates to clients with how they feel taken care of throughout their services.
