Waterloo Public Library - John M. Harper Branch

The librarian was nice. I like the building, I have a lot of memories here. Good quiet place to be. Kinda hard to access without a car.

I have been coming here to study for about a year now. I must say, it is one of my favourite places to go to. I love the natural sunlight it gets along with the spacious study area and you can even book private rooms here. The staff is very friendly, always has a positive attitude and very helpful. I really like the birthday bundle they do, something I have never seen before at any library which is very nice. The reason why I didn’t give it a 5 star is because of the daycare placed inside Library, it should be separated so students don’t get distracted by kids crying or playing. Other than that, it is a great place to study, just might need a set of headphones to avoid the distraction.

Waterloo Public library has so much to offer! Books and beyond! You can borrow board games, video games, audiobooks, movies and current magazines. You can access one of the public computers for one hour daily. You can complete your print jobs too: 0.25 for B&W copies and 0.50 for color. Idea. A safe space to study, research and simply browse through vast catalogue. To those studying for an exam and/or organizing a Zoom meeting or interview, there is a glass room on the main level, available to reserve up to one week in advance for a period of 3 hours.

Separate section for childrens area to read books and to do activities.

In overall, it's well organized Library:)

Lots of reading/working space in the quiet zone, facing the street and the greens. Also lots of informal seating space across the library which is great. They have 3D printing facility, as well as a program room for babies and small play area for toddlers and younger children. Attached to the YMCA facility so it has a small cafe and courtyard and other YMCA facilities in the same building.

Family friendly library with a lot more than books and novels. Swimming pool and gym access.

This just might be my favourite place in Waterloo. They’ve got a great selection of books and you can even borrow board games and jigsaw puzzles! The librarians are super helpful and friendly too.

I live in the area and this is my go-to library. My family especially likes requesting book bundles.

If it were possible to give this library 0 stars i would.i’ve had not just one but TWO bad experiences here in terms of their study rooms.first i had the rudest university students tell me to get out a study room after they were 10 minutes late to their reservation which according to library policy means you must forfeit the room.today i was told that my 3 hour reservation had been cancelled because i was 11 minutes late.i will never be coming back to this library.you need to have 0 brain cells in order to have policies this terrible.the worst library i have ever stepped foot in.
