Wee Wok Express

We order from here a lot. We spend at least 150 everytime, as I have a family of 5 and we are all adults, so we expect the price to be high. Tonights order was 223, I didn't really think about the price as I know food costs have gone up and I did order 3 extra things I usually never do. 1 side order of steamed white rice, 1 wonton soup, 1 order of chicken chow mein. And once again my order was wrong. I was sent everything I ordered and then some. 5 sides of rice and 5 chicken chop suey orders. No chicken chow mein. Looked at the reciept and yup, she wrote down 5 rice and 5 chicken chop suey. Also, some other order of these balls with sesame seeds on them and black stuff inside, no idea what it was. I didn't bother calling because we waited 1.5 hrs for our food as it was. The person who answers the phone should really be required to speak clearer English, so orders are not incorrect, and the customer can actually understand what is being said. We will still continue to order from here because we love the food, BUT COME ON, getting an order correct is not rocket science.

I've been going to Wee Wok for years, and it's always been very good. We always get the Shanghai noodles and General Tao because it's better than anywhere else locally. Highly recommended.

We've eaten from Wee Wok in the past and always found it to be decent, servings are large, and prices aren't bad at all considering how much food has gone up. We tried Swiss chalet for Thanksgiving dinner, but way too long of a wait, we hadn't had Chinese food in quite a while, so we got a meal for 5 of us and was just under $70. Definitely try them out if you haven't, I know everyone has different taste buds, but hopefully, the food will be just as good to you as it was for myself.

Been a loyal customer since day one, and still recommend them to absolutely everyone! I miss living right behind them.

I personally love this resturant for their chinese food! One of the best ones in town, and i highly reccomend. Gonna be ordering from here for my birthday dinner soon and it'll be some amazing food and worth the $. Even there combination platter is very fulfilling and affordable to for the price.

Best chinese food around Peterborough. Fresh and you get a good amount of food for the price you pay. The house itself is a little bit run down but otherwise it seems to be clean from our viewpoint. Would recommend, especially their rice and chicken balls.

I just had the Salty Szechuan Shrimp today at Wee Wok Express & it was really good. The shrimp were crispy but chunky which is very different from like a crispy Popeye's chicken. Chunky meaning there were a good amount of batter there which added to the taste very well. Also, the saltiness is like a little kick that really complemented the shrimp & you can really taste it.

The service is good, friendly regular Chinese man. The wait time is 10 minutes late. They also need to renovate & clean the inside of the entrance because it looks more like their hustle & bustle home rather than a takeout entrance like a pizza place. All the pizza places in Peterborough have cleaner takeout entrances than that. They also need better lighting inside the takeout entrance. If there are too many people inside, you have to wait outside which could be very challenging in the Winter.

Overall, the food was really good (9/10) so there is no complaints for me. I really loved the Salty Szechuan Shrimp that I had today.

We only get 2 things from Wee Wok: lemon chicken and yang chow fried rice. The cooking is not always 100% consistent, but it’s still delicious nevertheless. I would still order from WeeWok for days when I don’t feel like cooking!

My wife and I got deluxe take out for two with a side of honey garlic spare ribs it was amazing we will definitely be eating here again lots of left overs

Reasonably priced. Good quantity and tasty. We went there reading the good reviews for this place and were not disappointed. The people who served us were polite, attentive and friendly.

This is the first month I have moved to ptbo and it is the first time I order food here. I am very happy to find this Chinese restaurant and will comeback soon!

Wee Wok is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in peterborough. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal!

Food is good but their restaurant is small, in a nondescript corner of the street, no dine-in. The waiting area is crowded but they have a lot of interesting displays.

They have the best customer service in town. I ordered a combo and they made a mistake, I called back and they said can make a new one for me. I told the girl at the front desk that I can go back to pick it up but they still delivered to me. I'm glad they fixed the problem in time.

Wow this place is a must try! Never had chinese food this good anywhere. Also such polite people taking order, and when we came in they were all smiling. Great place!

I have to say that weewok's chicken balls are really delicious! Not as much flour as other restaurants, weewok's chicken balls have big chunks of chicken, the batter is crispy and not overcooked.

Recommended for everyone! BBQ pork slices is my favourite, come with generous portions and rich garlic honey sauce. I usually order chicken fried rice, but today I tried vegetable rice. Vegetable rice is definitely better than chicken fried rice. I don’t like celery, but they already mixed the veggies so I just had to pick them out when I ate them.

The price is going up, it’s fair. I ordered chicken satay with rice, the portion is just good for one person. On average, it costs around $20 for one person.

This used to be the best place in town for Chinese food.
Was very disappointed!
Portion sizes have gone down considerably.
Minuscule amounts of sauce on chicken balls.
The chicken balls were doughy and undercooked.
Rice had hard pieces in it and tasteless.
Zero, yes, zero, almonds in the chicken, almond dish.
The taste was so bland even after adding soya sauce there was no improvement.
I have no issue with prices being raised but when quality and portions go way down I see no reason to go back.
Very sad this place has lowered their standards.

First off, I don't know who I spoke with over the phone but he was very polite and professional. The only negative thing I have to say after reading other reviews is, the owner's response to some of them is extremely sarcastic and not becoming whatsoever. You know what they say about sarcasm, it's the weapon of the weak, a sign of aggression, the lowest form of wit and the refuge of a shallow mind. Your {the owner} attitude is so unbecoming that it just may cost you business.

Now to the food. Above average for PTBO.but that is never saying much, no matter the cuisine, as this city has many restaurants and the vast majority aren't worth going to if they were free.

I am almost 60 and have lived in or near PTBO.for the majority of my life and had drive thru, delivery or ate in more times and at more food establishments in The Patch than I could possibly count.

At present I live an hour away but got take out from here 2 days ago and still have food to eat. I spent over $50 and have enough food for 3 days. I ordered the following:

Moo Goo Gai Pan, 2 X Mushroom Fried Rice, Mushroom Chop Suey, 1 each Egg Roll and Vegetable Spring Roll

Food was still quite warm when I got it, someone brought it out to me. I refrigerated it immediately and had some rice plus the 2 rolls later in the evening.

Take into account that my review is based on nuked food so it's not going to be as good as if it were eaten while still warm after delivery.

Rice is fine nuked of course but the egg roll was hard, seemed slightly over cooked by the restaurant. I didn't cook it, I only reheated. It also was nothing to write home about as far as egg rolls go and that had nothing to do with nuking it. The filling had no taste whatsoever.

This was the 1st time I ever tried a spring roll of any kind and it will be the last. I ate it because I hate food going to waste and getting ripped off my money but, it was disgusting. Drowned it in plum sauce and that still didn't help.

I just ate the rest of the 1st order of mushroom fried rice that I couldn't finish before and also the moo goo gai pan {well some of both}. The rest of both will be going to the garbage.

The rice in general is just okay. The moo goo gai pan, somewhat disappointing as the chicken wasn't good tasting at all and the entire dish, nothing great either.

One more order of rice yet to go and an order of mushroom chop suey later today and/or tomorrow. I do not have high hopes for it.

I really don't think I'll be buying from here again.

The delivery guy used an insulated bag and the food was still very hot when I got my order.

Worst food we have ever had from we wok, in the past it’s been good, I wouldn’t give it to my dog it was that bad total waste of money

Absolutely fresh vegetables, sometimes I will see them bring freshly cut vegetables into the kitchen

Have not even had the food yet and I don’t even want to now. Ordered pick up around 2pm, told to pick it up for 7pm, arrive at 6: 50pm call in to check if it’s ready and they can’t even accurately find that information. It’s now 730pm, I have watched 3 groups arrive after me and pick up their food to leave and I still have not received our order. If you can’t accommodate the amount of orders you are getting the stop taking them. Merry Christmas!
