Weed Man Lawn Care

Tried them this year. Not a huge fan to be honest.

A) the first time a tech came to my house he looked like he was high. To each his own, but I find that unprofessional.
B) they always used to just apply stuff to the lawn and leave. It's not a high quality job at all. It's like they want minimum work for maximum bucks.

Power sales techniques. Keep calling back. I had to yell and call the sales lady names to order to get her NOT to try and renew. NEVER EVER USE this company. If they charge my card next year I'm calling my lawyer.

Tldr; unfortunately this company is a scam. They will come to your home, idle in their truck, post their treatment signs on your lawn, and charge you hundreds of dollars for no actual treatments. All caught on my cameras. Please dont make the mistake I did, be careful and hire someone else!

It's unfortunate that I am having to write this. I do not write negative reviews except when absolutely necessary. You can view my previous reviews to confirm.

However, it's seldom I come across a company as deserving for a one star review, as weedman.

In the beginning of the summer I was very hesitant to hire a lawn care company for the first time. It isn't cheap and I tend to do a decent job myself. However after some very pushy sales and consistent calls, I gave in. That was no big deal to me, effective sales. Well done. It wasn't until the services started to be "applied" when I had a real problem. Initially, the people who came continuously left the gate open and allowed my dog to escape. Ok not great, but not a deal breaker. But then, after I installed video surveillance around my property. I saw their truck would sit idle in front of my house for 15 minutes, then they would get out and put their sign on my front lawn, and charge me for a full backyard fertilizer/weed/insect treatment. I called and spoke to them numerous times very politely about what had occurred. I was called a liar, despite the evidence. It occurred again for an insect inspection where they did not even leave the vehicle. When I called to complain again I was told the gps has the car at my property, and it is a free service anyway, so why does it matter. It matters because that added value is part of the package I pay hundreds for. I was totally shocked. I sent them the video footage and full explanations. All I asked for was a refund of $80 and I would move on. Nothing. They had no issue taking hundreds of dollars from me, applying no treatments to my lawn, and then berating me and my elderly mother about being liars. This company unfortunately appears to be shady, cuts corners, rips people off, and they have absolutely no shame in doing so. 100% without a doubt never hire their services. Its more than disappointment. It is a scam.

They came to spray for weeds on my lawn five times and there’s no difference. All the weeds are still here. The weed spray product they use doesn’t work at all. Save your money and call a different company. Worst experience ever! Picture below is how my entire backyard looks after five separate weed sprays.

I paid for full season and they only come to put their sign as if the job is done but they’ve done nothing!

So no after hours voicemail so I'll just leave this information here. Truck number 207 apparently felt he was justified to pass a transport truck in a right turn lane and proceed to cut off the transport truck. If that's the type of employee you hire, I wouldn't recommend you to hire Weedman for lawn maintenance

I have never had such a green Healthy lawn until I signed up with Weedman. What a major difference. I wish I hadn't waited so long

Weedman has been treating my lawn for several years and i have had no issues. They respond quickly to any questions or problems.

Dodgy marketing tactics, shady practices! STAY AWAY FROM WEEDMAN! Going to "charge additional $100" for the season in midsummer.
Initially they quoted us a price through door to door aggressive marketing. We accepted the provided quote after property inspection in person in March and got the service order confirmation pdf and started with spring fertilizer. Now coming in middle of the summer they are saying they made a mistake in the quote and the lot is bigger than they thought and going to "charge additional $100" for the season. I found similar reviews about Weed Man, no wonder I don't see them providing services on our street.
After spending an hour of my time on call with them, they're telling me to take it or leave it, so there, they lost a long term customer and earned a 0 star review.
I urge people to steer away from this company, this is their marketing tactic to pull new customers in and then jack up the prices half way through the season so that people would panic and not bother looking for another service provider.

I am going to file a case in consumer court anyone else who is victim of Weedman fraud please reply.

05/30/22 9: 19 PM - weedman fraud representative you have neither called me or offered any thing to fix your mistake and Damage you have done to my property. You hire unprofessional, untrained people

Attorney has reviewed my facts and confirmed a clear case of misrepresentation of service and negligence of the provider where company/provider failed to disclose proper information about the service. The person showed up didn't followed proper guidelines and also damaged the property.

I will not leave any social platform to post the phone call I recorded after informing your person on the other side that I am recording this call.

Existing customer of weedman, called them to address my concern about the current lawn condition. Wanted someone to discuss and show us exactly the work that's been done and the areas that we need to improve. I was told they're providing the world class service and they send emails. I mentioned yes the emails are informative but it's just a one way communication we would like to talk one and one over the phone or in person, the person they don't have enough time for all that. Calling experience was not good because the voice clarity of the rep was poor. No call back was offered to ensure proper connection is established to avoid any miscommunication.

Don't give them your number they will not stop calling you. If you use their service and stop they will call you everyday non stop no matter what.

Weedman sales reps use shady business practices to try to keep their customers. They will bill you even after guaranteeing that your account has been cancelled.

I have even receiving 1-2 calls daily EVEN ON WEEKENDS from this business for over ONE MONTH. STOP CALLING ME. If you want to be harassed give them your phone number, they’ll get the job done.

STOP CALLING ME. I filled out a form once LAST year and then found out from the sales rep that they didn't offer what I was looking for. Since then, the sales people at Weed Man Lawn Care keep calling me even after telling them to stop multiple times. If you contact them, be ready to get harassed.

Paid for services for weed control product that did not work. Lawn still full of weeds. Tried to upsell another services. Do not recommend.

I would not highly recommend. The products are simple things you can get at Can Tire or Home Depot, if you are willing to do it yourself. Mainly preventative, so if you have weeds this is a long, long muti-year process. The techs were great and professional. However the office will continuously come after you with high pressure sales tactics to add extra services that you may or (likely) may not need. There are better services out there.

I’ve been using them for several years then stopped for one year and realized what a differnence they make to my lawn. Great service, always on time and love the texts they send to tell you when they’re coming. Excellent service for a great price! Thank you!

Excellent service with minimal impact on personal space. Service technicians are courteous and respectful of our property.

Weed man has the best value. The fertilizer is the absolute best in the long run. With a watering schedule and Weedman my lawn is the best it has ever been!

Paid in full for summer treatments and they burnt my lawn many times with their pesticides. I still had a problem with weeds and now i'm barely left with a lawn. They tried to rectify the subpar service and offered free overseeding and aeration, later on they tell me that this conversation never happened and they can't offer this. There are many other companies that charge the same amount and offer more. Better to do it yourself or go with someone else. They will keep calling you to say 'sorry" and to buy more services for next year but it's too late for that now.

I hired them in spring to do weed control and paid upfront for the year, big mistake. They don't charge you until the first time they come to spray and that's the only time they'll come without you having to hound them to come over. I think they came in for a total of three times total and each times (except the first) i had to call and call and call. Really not worth it, I'm going to do it myself and save myself the trouble next season.

If I could I would give 0 stars. I had a big issue with creeping charlie in my backyard in Oakvillr. Called up Weedman and they said "We treat that. Don't worry we will get it all" After 2.5 years of service, the creeping charlie was no better than before I had called for service. In fact the weeds in my backyard were overall worse. I wasn't treating with weed b gone anymore expecting that they would catch all of it. Even simple dandelions were thriving. Keep in mind the lawn jsnt perfect but I mow it regularly and fertilize at the proper intervals

I would continually call and tell them I couldn't see a single weed dying in the days after treatment. They would "send someone back out to spray".
Which again didn't produce any results. Often times they were treating on days where it was raining or rain was expected very soon after application. It only ever appeared that their 3rd treatment at the end of the year would kill a few weeds. However wasn't getting nearly enough to call it a weed treatment.

I performed a test this summer. Let their second treatment get placed the week of June 24th. I watched. NOT ONE WEED DIED.after 1.5 weeks I went to home depot and picked up the concentrated form of weed b gon you can attach to your hose. Sprayed the entire backyard on a sunny July Sunday. Used up the whole bottle, so $45 for my own treatment. Within 2 days all the creeping charlie was shriveling. Within a week it was all gone.

Moral of the story I was an idiot. $420 wasted over 2.5 years having weedman do one of 2 things. Fake that they were even treating the weeds or they are watering down their solution to save money.

Either way it was a waste.

If you have 30 minutes of time do it yourself, not worth the money or the hassle.
